Rated 3 out of 5 by from Interchange insert is impossible to find. Great jacket. Used it in 30 degree rain/snow. The most frustrating part is that it does not come with an insert, yet it has the zippers for it. I have ordered 2 fleece inserts from Columbia and neither fit. I went to Seattle Columbia store today and they only had one vest that fist in it. I sent an email to support and they referenced 2 models that are not available online. Columbia needs to make it easier to buy interchange inserts online.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gale warning parka I am a guide and use this parka in alaska where it rains alot and have never got wet. It performs everyday flawlessly keeping me comfortable. I appreciate having gear that i can depend on.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Made for the serious fisherman Being a tournament walleye fisherman, you don't get to pick the days with nice weather to go out and fish. Sometimes you have to fish in the nastiest weather there is. This year I have been in freezing rain, down pours, and snow. If I didn't have the absolute best all weather gear possible it would make it hard for me to do what I do. This jacket will keep you dry and warm in the worst conditions. Not to mention it is lightweight and fits great as well. There are many pockets for storing things such as cameras, cell phones and other electronics which are all waterproof as well. If there was such a thing as a perfect fishing jacket for a serious fisherman, this is it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Shipping The quality of Columbia products has always been top notch. My only issue is the fact that I have to cover the return shipping when the item I purchased needs to be returned or exchanged. I find this practice to be a little petty since I just spent $230.00 for an item, had to return it because it was too big and ordered another. That will not stop me from purchasing additional Columbia merchandise but think this practice should be revisited.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent for fishing! Both of our teenage boys are on the high school fishing team, and they love these!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Definitely a huge parka Ordered a medium, but when they say relaxed, they mean it. This thing is huge, fit like an XL. It's very roomy and the fit is strange, with a wide bottom. The picture makes it look like a bomber type of fit. Everything in this jacket is about 1 size too roomy. The wind would just blow straight up and the large sleeves wouldn't insulate warm air very well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Parka! I bought this for my husband and he loves it! He fishes in the winter and this was perfect for him. It stays water and wind proof while still keeping him warm. If it's really cold you can add a fleece or down jacket underneath. Great product!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Winter Rain Suit I have to say that this is one of if not the best winter rain suits I have ever bought. I am a tournament bass fisherman and fish year round here in Texas weather is always a concern. The Omni Heat really does its job as well as the Omni Tech. Columbia puts out some of the best outdoors gear there is. Plus this is at least HALF the price. I bought the jacket and bibs for less than just the jacket of most competitors. I will be a Columbia customer for life.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Columbia pfg gale parka I bought this jacket for warmth light weight fit and mobility. its fails greatly in warmth, at 12 degrees fahrenheit my back underarms and arms where freezing. understandable but where i live 12 degrees is warmer than a normal day in the winter. Wind at 20mph went right through upper torso and arms, i will keep the pfg gale pants but am returning the jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Light-weight Jacket! As a professional fishing guide in Wisconsin I deal with plenty of inclement weather, especially in the fall. The PFG Gale Warning Parka is super lightweight making casting a breeze, while also being one of the warmest and most waterproof jackets I've fished in. Sure, it is a little pricey, but the quality is hard to beat. If you are an avid angler who stays out on the nastiest of days, this jacket is for you!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Spectacular! This parka is everything I could have asked for and more. It is super roomy and light. It doesn't way me down like other cold weather gear. I wear a Columbia shirt and a hoodie underneath and stay perfectly toasty. In fact, I was wearing it on the lake this morning catching some Southern Illinois bass feeding up for the winter. I stayed perfectly warm and comfortable. Money well spent!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and Dry I am a charter guide so I have to fish in a lot of weather this set keeps me warm and dry

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Year Around I have a couple hunting and fishing jackets for extreme cold/wet weather. I usually find that these are a bit heavy and very warm/hot. I needed something just as good for extreme weather that would not make me sweat and most importantly, keep me dry. This jacket is the BEST I have tried and I have used it in driving rain and also walking/hiking through brush and stayed completely dry and cool where normally I would be too hot and sweating. This is by far a superior design and it compliments my Omni-Tech cap. Thank you Columbia. Leo from the Cascade Mountains

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tournament Angler Approved Both my partner and I ordered this Suit prior to the 2016 season opener. 20 degrees with 14 degree windchill and we were warm and dry, with a smile on our face. Block the wind, water and chill perfectly with little base layer needed. If your a serious angler who doesnt want mother nature telling you what to do. BUY IT ! YOU WON'T REGRET IT.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Jacket I am going into my third year with this jacket and just absolutely love it. It has kept me dry in downpours, with the neoprene cuffs, sealed zippers and excellent quality. I like all the pockets, inside and out. This outfit keeps me warm in the cold PA springs, the Omni heat does work to reflect your own body heat back onto you. I have owned several other rain gear and all have leaked by the third year and this one does not. The only issue i have at times is that if you don't line the sealed zipper up just right, the bottom will come out but is easily correctable. I fish/guide rain or shine and would recommend this jacket and bibs to anyone looking for the best gear on the market.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Top Quality I purchased this with the bibs last fall and have been really impressed with both. I like to really give something a good test before I write a review. I've had this suit out in all the elements, from driving rain, to subzero cold and it has delivered as advertised. The Omni Heat technology make this setup lightweight and comfortable to wear. That being said, it's not a traditionally insulated jacket. It is phenominal at maintaining your body heat, but if you wear it with just a t-shirt underneath in freezing temperatures, you're going to get a little chilly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great winter fishing jacket Great jacket keeps the cold and rain out, very solid, high quality jacket, lots of pockets to put stuff in. The only thing that I wish came with the jacket was the interchange jacket that you can zip into it, also around the wrist have Velcro straps to tighten keep the cold and rain from getting in

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great buy Got this coat for fowl weather. Keeps you comfortable without the excess bulk. Sheds water like a duck. If your looking a dependable coat for the roughest conditions then this is the one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from First impressions (will write another review after the winter months) I currently live in Boston after moving here form Miami Oct/2014. Needless to say winter is new to me and the last one was especially brutal here in New England with record snowfall. I just received my parka this morning 12/14/2015. I decided to buy it because of the great reviews. I work outside year round in rain, snow, sleet or sunshine. I wore the parka combined with a liner from a bugaboo that I purchased last year on my commute to work today, the temp. is in the mid 40s and raining. It definately kept me very warm and dry. I can't wait to put the parka thru the New England winter. I'll be using it for all kinds of activities (skiing, shoveling, casual walks out in the snow and work). I'll write another review in the spring. I have high expectations for it. Props to Ma Boyle for a great product so far!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and Dry As a bass fisherman, you never know what to expect from the weather. When the weather gets bad I grab my Columbia Gale Warning Jacket. This jacket has seen everything from rain and snow to sunshine. It has protected me from 10 degree blast offs at 6 am and summer rain storms. Pair with the matching bibs and you will be ready for anything mother nature throws at you. This jacket is very warm, so it might not be the best if you only plan on using it during the summer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fishing guides rain gear Absolutely the best fish rain gear for me. I'm a fishing guide in the Northwest and I need the best product to keep me from the elements. It is lite weight warm and dry. I would recumend this rain gear for any body that works or plays in the outdoors. The craftmenship is quality the minute you zip it up you will know that you are going to be dryer the day. All of the zippers are like they are Welded to each other.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Parka I bought this in late spring and have gotten to wear them numerous time during late season cool fronts and through several thunderstorms. I have yet to find a leaky seam or get a chill. I look forward to winter and really putting them through a test.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love this parka! Upgraded from the regular model after a propape melting accident. My bad luck was good luck! This parka is super warm and well constructed. It has double fold oer material at the zippers, the sleeves and neck have adjustments to tighten down for water and wind proof, and all works perfectly. Zippered pockets a nice bonus, and the construction is 5 star. Plenty of length, when paired with a Bib there is no way wind or rain is getting in. I buy big, so it was a little bulky, which I don't mind in winter steelhead conditions. One thing that was a little annoying was the neck was a bit stiff. That may improve as the jacket gets broken in, but even if it never did I would still happily wear this parka and stay warm and dry all day. Oh yes, OmniHeat works as advertised!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Cold Weather Fishing Gear We purchased these for my kids who are on their high school fishing team. Tournaments get started in February and running the lake at 60 mph while its 25 degrees can get bone chilling cold. This product keeps you toasty warm, like all of the omni heat products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Investment Ever Got this jacket with the bibs about 2 weeks ago and put them straight to work over the weekend fishing a tournament. Weather was in the high 30s to low 40s and it did not stop raining for even a minute. Only wearing a hoodie and jeans under this suit after 9 hours in the cold and rain I can say the only thing left cold was my hands and face. While others were changing into dry clothes from there other brand rain gear soaking through I was still completely dry. Glad I decided to make this investment and I can say it's pretty much already paid for itself after one use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rain, rain Go Away! Working on motion picture sets can often be challenging. Filming a football game in Birmingham, Alabama for an upcoming movie. the producers wanted the game played in the rain and it was a bitter cold night. My Columbia Gale Parker was a lifesaver. With just one layer of insulation beneath the jacket, I managed to stay warm and at the same time, dry! Great quality clothing that has real-world usefulness, is why I keep coming back to Columbia.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Winter Fishing Jacke This is a great jacket for winter fishing. Very warm and keeps the wind out. Pockets are right size for me to keep extra hand warmers ready.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A must have for off shore. There is no Captain I fish with in the temperate zones that does not have a storm suit. I bought the parka and bibs. It is a nice blue and black. Well constructed and made to fit over other garments. I real enjoy Omni-Heat and appreciate the function. Well constructed and reinforced at critical points.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great functionality This parka is awesome! Light ,true to fit,and warm. The neoprene double cuffs kept the rain and cold out even at 70 m.p.h. runs . The hood took a little fitting but the zip in liner option makes this a keeper!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Orange Arm Advertising I would love to get this jacket. But there is no way I will have a big neon Columbia sign on my camo gear arm. who puts orange zippers on a camo coat?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Parka i've owned so far! I've went through a bunch of different fishing parkas. But i love the fit and feel of tis parka hands down! The Omni heat tech really works. I never got cold or hot in this parka. I recommend these to any angler looking to maintain a perfect body temp, stay dry and look as good as the pros!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Skiing coat!!! Found this jacket at Columbia outlet in HHI last Oct. Have been looking for Omni heat jacket for skiing and said this might work, if not it wound be great for hiking rain gear. Well I have skied in it 3 days at temps of 13 to 25 degrees and it has been fantastic! Have only worn a thermal top and light weight Columbia polar Fleece under it for skiing. Clear pocket is great for ski pass. Just bought a Columbia Ten Trail 3 Fleece to zip into the jacket to give me extra warmth when the temps get into the minus #'s and high winds of the Mt. Washington area.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Gale Warning run suits rock! The "gale" formerly known as "squall" is the hottest looking run suit on the market for fishermen. The omni-heat tech provides ample warmth in even the coldest conditions. For added warmth just zip in a liner and the suit still does not lose its functionality. Many suits force you to sacrifice maneuverability for warmth, but not this one!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Set up This jacket with the havey liner is awesome. Great shell for rain and with the liner it is WARM! Great pockets and hood. Would recomend to anyone!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best Jacket I have ever owned! I'm a full time charter boat captain in the Florida keys. I was looking for a heavy duty jacket that will keep me warm and dry during winter season. Well I found the perfect one! This jacket is and feels amazing, it's lite and really comfortable. I been wearing it every day for my regular 20+ mile run to the fishing grounds. It keeps me warm and dry when it's cold and windy but it also feels very comfortable on the not so cold days. I really recommend this jacket you will be happy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light and Warm Great parka. About 1/3 the weight of my old one. The Parka, as I find with most Columbia gear, ran a little small. I wear XL clothing, so I was glad I ordered XXL. Just enough room for a sweatshirt. I wear the Parka and bibs for cold, wet conditions fishing Spring & Fall Salmon on the Columbia River and Winter Harbor, B.C. Thanks for the great Parka.
Date published: 2012-11-14
Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Gale Warning Parka This Parka is the lightest, warmest, and most comfortable I have ever used. When I hunt it keeps me very warm and when I'm fishing or in wet condition it keeps me dry. The pockets are in the right place and zippers keep all of my gear in their place. This parks is built well and I plan on using it for years to come.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from awesome jacket By far the warmest and dryest rain jacket I have ever used. I fish approximately 20 tournaments each year and spend a minimum of 100 days a year on the water and this product is amazing!
Date published: 2012-02-14
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome As Always This jacket is simply amazing! Used this in our tournaments in the fall on St. Clair and Coldwater Michigan. It kept me warm and dry the whole day and was not restricting at all when casting all day! I was surprised how well it kept me warm in the win especially flying at 65+ mph on a boat. Highly recommend to whoever fishes late in the year!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great stylsih coat I have a lot of rain gear but this coat is the best by far. It fits and feels like a casual coat. I really like the ability to zip fleece or heavier interchange coats into it. i highly recommend this coat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and Dry! I am a full time fishing guide on Dale Hollow Lake in TN. It gets very cold here in the fall and winter, but that doesn't stop us from catching our quary, the smallmouth bass. I purchased this Shell as the final outer layer of my cold weather gear and I was not dissapointed. It is very warm thanks to the Omni Heat Technology and the wind is no match for this Parka. It stops it in its tracks as well as the rain. I have spent countless hours in the rain with this Parka and all layers underneath are dry when I get back to the dock. Very important to me! Thumbs up on this one Columbia!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Camo is not quiet This is an awesome jacket, but the Camo jacket is not quiet if you plan to use it for hunting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Rain Suit I finally got around to use this product this past weekend and was blown away. Spent all day fishing in the rain with the weather at the start of tournament time around 33 degrees wearing a pair of jeans a t shirt and a sweatshirt and I didn't even need the sweatshirt. No thermals, no base layer and I was warm as can be while everybody else is wearing 5 layers and still cold. If you fish a lot of cold weather this is a necessity for you!
