Men’s Powder Down™ Jacket is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 45.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Winter comfort A great jacket , light weight warm good looking. The only thing that I think would make this jacket a total home run is a double zipper. When busy out in snow getting in and out of trucks, to take tension of bottom of jacket with the double zipper, felt strain on bottom of jacket when very active such as bending. With the double zipper function would then be excellent. Thought of replacing zipper, but might ruin jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from True Columbia Style There are so many things this coat has/does that it took wearing it a couple of times to realize all the coolness. I really like the way the snow guard snaps around you only when you want to use it, the many inside pockets that lets you see where your stuff is, the flannel lined outside pockets and the goose down keeps you so warm without getting hot. I couldn't believe the price I paid and got all this! Bought it in the grey watercolor print, it's beautiful. I'm 6'1" 180 lbs, I got an XL so I could layer a sweatshirt under if I wanted. Could have easily worn a Large but I'm not going to exchange it. I like my coats to fit loose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Men's Powder Down This coat is the best I have ever owned. Received as a Christmas gift and have worn from 0 to 48 degrees. I am always comfortable in it. It has replaced a North Face parka that I was always cold in. I like all the features of the Columbia and it has held up quite well in the strange, cold weather we have had this year.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Wyoming cold is no match This coat is beyond amazing. With temps down to -30 this coat keeps you warm. The 'omni-heat' does exactly as advertised. This along with the down filling has kept out the record breaking cold. Its so nice to have confidence in a coat when temperatures go past extreme cold, and know that im still going to be warm

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Jacket Ever Couldn't ask for a better Jacket. T-Shirt warm in 20 weather for running errands. Nice pockets, big hood. Fantastic cold weather and snow sport features. Hope this jacket is a staple for Columbia FOREVER.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazingly warm. Wanted to test it in 19° snow storm. With only a hoodie under it, I Barely felt the cold at all. Warmest coat i've owned by far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gets The Job Done I know many times people read the reviews wondering if they're to be trusted. Mine is a realistic review. This coat will take care of all your needs, windy, snow, ice cold. I live in Cleveland and had to put this coat to the test in -15 weather the day after it arrive. I didn't feel a thing, I will be ordering from this site again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Will be returning Unfortunately I will be returning this jacket. It seems to be a nice enough jacket but there are several issues. The main reason I'm returning is the zipper. It's very small with fine teeth. I am unable to use it even with light driving gloves. That means removing my gloves or mittens any time I want to adjust it. Also, it's not a two-way zipper, meaning you can't zip the bottom part open to sit down or reach something in your pants pockets or on your belt. Very inconvenient. I'm sure women notice it less because they carry a purse but if you have to access your pockets it's tough. The inside pockets are mostly mesh which doesn't give a lot of support for some items. And while the jacket does have the powder skirt it has no waist adjustment so you can't alter the snugness or look of the jacket. Overall I'm disappointed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect! I bought this jacket for my first Canadian winter. Awesome jacket for daily use and snowboarding. The snap powder back skirt and drop tail are really useful. It keeps you warm at any condition, and its pockets are really convenient.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great cold weather coat Having lived in Minnesota my entire life, I decided to treat myself to a nice winter jacket. My criteria were...... something a little longer that hangs past the butt, very warm, windproof, water proof, down component. Having now worn this jacket in very cold temperatures and high winds, I can say that it is the best and warmest jacket that I've owned, and I'm 54 years old. The "omni-heat" lining seems to be the real deal. The interior sleeve cuffs that fit tight around the wrists are a great feature to keep snow and cold out. The longer length of the jacket helps the wind from getting in near the waist line. The hood is nice to pull over my hat, on cold days. The zipper zips up high to the chin, keeping wind and cold out. The look is slightly puffy and bulky, but I knew that, given the construction. I think it's a good looking jacket, tho it's undeniably geared more to function than style. It has a powder skirt that can be snapped around the waist to keep snow and cold out. I absolutely love it, and I'm sure I'll be wearing it for many, many years to come. Be advised that it's designed for cold weather, so you'll want a different jacket for temps above 20 or 30 degrees F, or if you're exercising. I wish the zipper were of heavier construction, but I'm having no issues with it. As long as it doesn't break, it should be fine. Highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Winter Jacket I am 5'11 160 lbs and the Medium is a perfect fit. This jacket is very warm and works well for the New England winters with just a thermal and tee as base layers. If you want to bulk layer under this jacket i.e. fleece or sweatshirt then I would order one size up from your normal size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gerdie, you did it again! This parka is simply amazing. It is light, warm and comformtable! It was exactly what I wanted for the cold climate I live in. Especially, the attached hood. I find the detached hoods are usually more for looks. This attached hood keeps you warm, even in the coldest temperatures. Thanks Columbia!! David Westcott PS I'm having trouble finding low ankle winter boots with that silver lining in size 11 because of the remote area I live in. Any suggestions? After this parka, I'm 'all in' for Columbia clothes!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Columbia Jacket Powder Down Jacket It is difficult to write a review with absolutely no negatives. I like everything about it. I live in the mountains at 9,000 ft. And the winter is often harsh. The jacket is warm, color is great, pockets are more than I anticipated and I am sure I will have it on more than any other jacket I have this winter.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Jacket - Bad Sizing This jacket is well designed, warm and a good value. But mine was very tight around the chest and waist. I have average build so that surprised me. Returned the coat and ordered a size up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Winter Jacket The size is perfect, with a little extra room for moderate activity. The white/grey camo look is fantastic and fun.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Jacket I bought this to replace a 10+ year Columbia interchange jacket, which while still effective, is a little heavy and dated technologically. Based on reviews that the jacket may run a bit big, I bought the Large but ultimately returned it for an XL. I'm about 6'1" and 210, the large may have been ok minus 10 lbs, it looked better and more fitted while the XL is much bigger all the way around. This leaves room to layer and the sleeves on the Large would slide up if I lift my arms up as well . Overall I love the jacket, though I have yet to wear it outside since it's not cold yet. It's also significantly lighter than my old interchange which I'm looking forward to.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Thin Great jacket, but not for a tough winter where a heavier jacket is necessary. Maybe good for a cold movie theater and slightly cold winds.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Seems nice - large in the ribs I like it, but it was larger than other columbia jackets I had tried. Even after imagining several sweaters on, it would be too big for me. FYI: I'm 6,1, fairly slender. The sleeves seemed the right length. FYI: The phone pocket is a jokingly smallish. It barely fits on iPhone 5, an iPhone 6 or 6+ is out of the question.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly Recommended! Excellent jacket and a must have for winter! Built quality is amazing and unlike other reviews, I did not find this jacket too heavy. It is decently sized allowing for me to wear an under layer comfortably. The only thing to note would be the size of the hood as it is helmet compatible so it tends to be slightly large for people that don't wear helmets like myself, however, it can be adjusted and I managed to find a comfortable fit. My only critique would be that generally Columbia jacket sleeves run half inch to an inch longer than they should be for a medium size. This makes the sleeves look slightly puffy. I have tried many Columbia jackets and that is what I have noticed on all medium sizes. Other than that this jacket is great and highly recommended!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome I was looking for a warm down jacket and had purchased one at another retailer. Unfortunately when I received their jacket, it was very under filled and lightweight without much warmth. This jacket is well filled, and is extremely warm. Great Quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great Jacket for Minneapolis winter Great jacket with all the necessary features to keep you warm in the tough MN winter. As another reviewer noted, the only complaint I have is the small internal pocket, only suited for an ipod sized device. The rest, great Jacket, warm + light, this is my first down jacket and i will go back to on down. I got it half price and its worth it, full price I do not know. But I never pay full price for stuff.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Works for me in PA I bought this jacket for long winter walks with my dogs. I live in east central PA region where average winter temps range approximately 10°-32° in the evenings, plus wind. I'm 6"-2", 190 lbs and wear a 36-37" long dress shirt sleeve. The large fits me very well. I have an older polyfill Columbia jacket that is OK, but wanted something warmer. This works great with either a t-shirt and mock crew pullover, or on extra cold days an added sweatshirt. I like the extended sleeve and comfort cuffs and powder skirt - no cold air on the wrists or up the back. On colder days I wear a fleece balaclava with the hood up and I'm toasty warm. Because the zipper is designed to be waterproof it is a little snug running. I realize the jacket is primarily a ski jacket, but I sure do appreciate the extra features you wouldn't normally find on your average winter coat. I also like the black print pattern - different but not too flashy. All in all very satisfied.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great coat but fits very big! My son loved this jacket online! Ordered it for him as a Christmas present. Since his current medium Columbia just fits and he is still growing, I ordered a large. It is humongous! The coat is of excellent quality and looks very warm and functional but waaaaay too big. Unfortunately, there aren't any available now online. Will have to return.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Its the bomb but needs an upgrade... As an owner of multiple Columbia products, I am always excited when I add to the collection. The brand has excelled at creating great quality and putting products on the hanger that perform as advertised in the designated conditions. This puffy was purchased as a ski jacket and is a beautiful piece. It fits true to size, has the necessary pockets, powder skirt, cuff adjustments and an adjustable, removable hood that actually works. My only complaint is the size of zipper used on the front of the coat. Too small! C'mon guys and gals, how can you design a great, functional piece and not put a big zipper on it. This is the outer layer! Owners/users will have gloves or mitts on riding a lift trying to adjust a zipper that belongs on a pant fly. Really? I expect better and will have the zipper changed out with the local seamstress or tailor to something more usable... as you should have.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Chicago Deep Freeze Certified When temps reached sub zero temps, all that I would add to my winter ensemble would be a scarf and hat - the hood itself is great and i love the drawstring quality of the hood and around the waist to keep the wind out. This is a great quality winter jacket. It is a puffy jacket being down - this is expected however Columbia does a fine job of minimizing the fluff factor while maximizing body heat retention. I will put on my jacket say 10 minutes before i leave in the morning and the heat that I build up (with only a polo short sleeved shirt and white tanktop undershirt) will last me even on those gusty days when the winter wind cuts at the skin. A samsung galaxy 5 smart phone does NOT fit on the inside breast pocket however fits perfectly on the outside breast pocket. Every pocket is zippered and the zipper track is wind tight. I love the soft pockets for bare hands, they are lined and warm. The sleeves lining have like a spandexy type deal around the wrists so that wind stays out of the sleeves. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the quality - i feel like i can get many years outta this jacket if I treat it right. I did notice a miniscule amount of feathers sticking out from seams however they were soooo tiny and i doubt that this will be an issue.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Really Big I ordered this jacket in a size small for my husband and it is just huge. The body is big and boxy and the sleeves are Hulk-sized. I'm not sure if there was a mistake with the cut because he has several other size small Columbia jackets which fit nicely. It's a shame cause we like the style and it's really warm but it has to go back due to the poor fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Men’s Powder Down™ Jacket Love the Black Print. I take my dog outside 2 hours a day . (English Setter) So I really put to the test Down Jackets to see how they really keep the heat in ...cold out.Last couple winters here in Pa have been pretty cold. I usually wear a tee shirt and a long sleeve mock turtle neck. I will follow up later in the winter with how this jacket does. One thing I noticed is the Media Pocket on the inside of the Jacket could be bigger. I have a Samsung S5 and it comes no where close to fitting in this pocket. Which is a bummer brcause that was one of the things I thought was neat about this Jacket. It's a good quality Jacket something I have come to expect from Columbia. Looks like there could be a tad more Down stuffed into the Jacket. But sometimes that can be misleading , Down is a powerful insulator. Most of my other down Jackets are 550 fill and this one is 650. I can hardly wait for that first 15 degree day (with the wind blowing) to check this Jacket out!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Good For Ice Fishing, Skiing and Long Winter Walks My husband bought this jacket and it is the perfect all-around winter jacket. He uses it for all of the above and more. You can wear it to work and on the weekend. Black is the best colour for all uses. The feathers come out once in a while, but the same happens to all down filled coats...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Insane!! Coat!! I just bought this coat and let me tell something i live in chicago where cold was invented! And i laugh at the cold. This is a very warm jacket! A+++! and very comfortable. The coat looks heavy but it isn't that's what i like most about it! You would not regret it if you buy this coat!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent protection in winter I'm no skier, I just wear this jacket on colder winter days, and it does an excellent job of keeping the cold out and the heat in, even on windy days (where the hood helps a lot). The duvet-style padding is thick enough so I don't need to wear multiple layers underneath, but not so thick that I look like the Michelin man. When I get indoors, I just take this jacket off and I'm done. One other thing, the lining is slick enough that it doesn't bunch up when I'm putting my arms in the sleeves, which happens with another winter jacket I have. All round, well worth the money. Hopefully, it should last me a few years.

I am not sure how long the waterproof coating may last, but other than that my wife and I both picked up this coat! Shopping at the employee store definitely helps with the budget....as this is pretty expensive!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Comfy and functional I've had a few days out on the slopes with this down jacket, I really like the down! It's a great/trendy looking jacket and for the weight of the jacket it's pretty warm, to0 warm on 20-30degree days. On super cold/windy days like the recent days here in breckenridge I would recomend wearing a fleace underneath it to provide an extra layer of warmth, otherwise it was warm enough but could have been a little warmer. Like I said it weights nothing and honestly feels like you don't have a jacket on. Only thing I would like to see for this jacket is an XL Tall size, I have long arms and had to go with a XXL to get a jacket that fit right. Otherwise keep making jackets like this Columbia!
