Men’s Powder Keg™ II Down Jacket is rated out of 5 by 6.
Rated 5 out of 5 by MidwestWinterCommuter from Winter Warmth I purchased this coat as a replacement to a previous Columbia product. In replacing my previous coat, Columbia Warranty department was excellent. They were unable to fix the issue with my last coat and issued a warranty certificate. Since they did not make the coat I was trying to replace, this looked to be the closest replacement, and it has not disappointed yet. The outer material is made of an excellent water-proof barrier that allows the coat to repel wind and water without being too brittle or hard on the exterior. The down fill is comfortable without being overly warm causing overheating as sweating. Given the price of this coat, in comparison to other down coats out there, I was certainly happy with the quality received. The coat will feel thin and light without giving up the extra layer of warmth. This coat is my daily wear through the winters here in the Midwest. There are only two areas I would like to see improved on with this design. The coat rights tightly around the hips and requires the (often tricky to zip) double zipper to be undone to allow for a more comfortable relaxed fit. Some may find this as a pro to this coat as it does keep the wind out, however, it makes it difficult to sit or reach things in your back pockets. The second improvement could be in the hood. Though made of a decent material, I feel the hood lacks definition and can be a bit "floppy" at times. Over All this coat is an excellent value proposition for a long term winter coat replacement, and will keep you plenty warm in plunging winter temperatures.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ketrow1120 from I’d fully recommend this coat This coat is beyond amazing especially for the weather changes in Japan and when I go back to Ohio. You won’t find a video review on YouTube, but believe me it keeps me warm and dry. The only problem is the zipper. It could be better by having a smoother zip up. It’ll take me a couple try’s to get it to zip up sometimes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Kevin123 from Powder Keg The jacket was warm for the 4 single digit days at the mountain. The jacket was a little bulky due to the down fill. Only issues I noticed was that the area around the two zippers on the chest was starting to fuzz, hopefully it will not start to separate. Otherwise it a great jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by arcteksat from just about perfect We purchased these coats for our team that braves all sorts of weather. What we wanted most was warmth, durability and function. What we love is the warmth. The new 3d omni heat is great. The coat isn't bulky even with the down in the body. Length is good for those that need to bend over as part of their duties. Pockets are ample and appropriately placed. Fabric seems durable. We have other titanium coats and the fabric has withstood the test of time and sharp objects. Only one tiny tear in 4 years and it only went through the top layer so didn't really cause any issue. The coat looks and feels like a coat in this price point should look and feel. Only negative so far is the velcro that holds up the hood in the front is a bit stiff so we are hoping with time that firm velcro breaks down a bit so the top of the coat doesn't rest against your face when the hood isn't in use. Well worth it so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JayDee from Nice coat I bought this for work and its good. Here in quebec we have cold winters and for now, i did try it at -20 degrees and i was wearing a t-shirt under the jacket! I wasnt feeling the cold at all. Sad thing for me is i work outside and i work with salt for the ice, now my jacket looks bad with all the white spots! i dont know if i can wash the jacket in a regular wash machine or if the salt will destroy my jacket by the end of winter! Im gonna look on Columbia website for more informations about how to clean this jacket and if the salt will destroy my jacket. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)
