Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Winter Coat I wore this coat through the 2014-2015 winter for outdoor activities and everyday. It was warm enough to survive in Northeast OH. I am 6'1" and 195#. I wear a 42" coat and the large fit me well. It is trim but not tight fitting and I could put another layer under it if I needed to. I am now using the shell as a warm weather rain coat. The coat is astonishingly light for how warm it is. When it arrived in the mail I thought they had shipped me the wrong thing. Only negative is some light fraying or splintering of the fabric at the end of the sleeves. It is not something that impacts its use / function and I have trimmed off the loose threads / hairs coming off the fabric.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Down + Rain Jacket My first down jacket and my second columbia rain jacket. Very very warm and water proof. It spits out a few feathers every now and then but I think all down jackets probably do that. Great build and quality. It doesnt seem to absorb odors well which is a good thing. The down jacket has a mesh pocket which I use to permanently store my gloves (also columbia) because it fits perfectly and somehow doesnt add bulk while wearing the jacket (i say permanently because i put it in there to test out the pocket and i didnt even notice it and its been there ever since). When I pull out my gloves I noticed that some of the omni heat silver lining has rubbed off onto it so if you dont want your silver dots fading quickly you probably should leave anything in the pocket for long. I bought it on sale for $210 during the christmas event which i think is closer to a fair price than the regular MSRP. I spent the money in hopes that it will last (i take care of my things). Did not give a full 5/5 across all categories because I think it could be sold for cheaper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome functional Coat I got this coat as a Christmas present (that I suggested) and had my first chance to wear it yesterday and today. Yesterday, I was out running errands and just wore the shell. It was very comfortable, warm, and kept the wind off me. Today, I went out to take pictures. It was very rainy, windy and cold, and the coat and shell worked flawlessly. It kept me dry, warm, and blocked the wind. I'm looking forward to testing it in colder weather conditions as I feel that I haven't even scratched the surface of its capabilities.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I was looking for!! I bought this coat, looking for something that would be very warm and wind/waterproof. I am super happy with it! Days after receiving it, we had snow and wind chills of -25 (typical Montana...) and this coat kept me very warm! Shoveling snow was no problem, the coat moved easily with me. It exceeded my expectations and I would highly recommend this coat to anyone!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely warm I was looking at a lot of other jackets and ended up choosing this one over the synthetic version because of the added warmth from the goose down. I looked at the north face 3 in 1's and didn't like them as much and their warmth rating was not a good as this jacket. I actually bought a over prices arc'teryx jacket and returned it the next week because it was basically an overpriced fleece. This jacket works so well and keeps you very warm in freezing weather. The neck piece is very high so it keeps all that extra heat from your neck traped in the jacket. The sleeves on the outside are adjustable so if you have thick gloves on you can wear them underneath. The hood is fully adjustable and will work well without headgear as a stand alone piece and is really easy to remove if you want to. The chest does fit a little losely. I got the small. I am 5'8" 155lb. Athletic build. The neck and the blouse fit snug and really trap in the heat. It has an adjustable powder flap at the bottem so you can snug it up really tight if you want. It has good pocket room and the pockets are lined with a warm cloth material so it will keep you hands warm. This is my only warm article that I wear outside because I can't dress in layers for work. So I usually only wear a tee shirt under it and it is still very warm! The only downside that can get a little annoying is that the zippers to zip up the inner jacket are right where the top of the neck is. They have cloth flaps over this so you never touch them but when you want to put the neck over your mouth or nose you can feel the zippers. But just a minor annoyance not bad at all. The inner jacket is perfect to take out of the outer jacket when it's just a little chilly outside and is very easily removable. Overall this jacket is the warmest that I could find. The price is reasonable and it is very well made. I will deffently be wearing this for years to come and will recommend it to my family and friends and will buy another one when the time comes. Great product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best jacket that I have ever owned. By far, this is the warmest, most versatile jacket or coat that I have ever owned. It is easy to remove the hood; separate the shell from the inner jacket, and access the pockets. The stitching is tight and straight. The zippers are strong and operate smoothly, without impediment of a cover flap. The Powderkeg Interchange promises to be a durable addition to my outdoor life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Jacket, Very warm I bought the black one in a Large, I'm 6'0 185 And the overall fit was a touch big. However the down insert fits perfectly. So before you take back your jacket for a smaller size. Take the insert out and try it on. The weather here in Utah has been in the mid 40's since i got it and haven't been able to try it in extreme cold yet.So as of now i've just been using the Down insert and its super warm and comfy. I love that thing. Compared to other brands your getting a lot of coat/Jacket for the money.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from So close, and yet so far I was looking at this jacket as a replacement to an older Interchange jacket (also with down) that has served me well for a long time. Unfortunately, this jacket has the armpit zips right under the armpits- they feel like somebody has their finger in my armpit all the time. It's so annoying. But my old jacket has them too- what's the difference? Why have I been so pleased with my Interchange? Because the older zips are actually a little bit *forward* of the actual armpit seam... such an intelligent design. What happened, Columbia? Why the change? Sadness... I love my old jacket, but now must look elsewhere for a replacement.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very warm I was looking for a warm jacket for Wisconsin winters and this is working quite well. I pulled out the liner and used it for deer hunting and that wroked well also. When delvered the jacket had a bit of a musty smell but that is going away with time. The fitting tool Columbia has was right on. Of course it went on sale 3 weeks after I puchased it! :(

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Minnesota Approved I took the orange model coat deer hunting in frosty Northern Minnesota. The coat is very warm, even when sitting for long periods at temperatures of 19' F and gusty winds. The hood is basic, removable and has limited insulation. The warmth to weight ratio is impressive. I'm enjoying it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Powerkeg Interchange Jacket This coat is very warm and waterproof. Had considered purchasing "The Northface" coat that was similar to this coat. I am SO glad I bought Columbia. The quality of workmanship is outstanding and it is much more affordable. Extremely happy and will buy Columbia wear from here out!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from An excellent upgrade! I was looking to upgrade an older 3-in-1 coat I had purchased from another company. After doing some research on several of Columbia's 3-in-1 coats, I decided to settle on the Powderkeg, which appeared warm enough to handle harsh Chicago winters. I'm 6' and 185 lbs, so I initially ordered a large, which is my usual size. The sleeves were plenty long, maybe a little too long (I'm normally a 34.5) and there was ample room for multiple layers underneath. Wearing the shell alone though seemed too baggy of a fit for my liking. I returned the large for a medium, and couldn't be happier! While I may not be able to layer as extensively, I honestly don't think I will need to given how warm this coat is. I was just out in upper 20s temps with wind chills in the teens, and was plenty warm with just a button down shirt underneath. It does a fine job of blocking the wind, although I haven't had a chance to test out its waterproof claims. And, for being a relatively bulky coat, it is surprisingly light weight! Clearly clothing technology has come a long way since I last purchased a coat like this 8 or 9 years ago. For the price, I think I got a heck of a nice coat!
