Men's Redmond™ Waterproof Hiking Shoe - Wide is rated out of 5 by 51.
Rated 3 out of 5 by AB88 from Hiking boots tore after 1 month I bought these for my partner as he needed a new pair of hiking, waterproof shoes. He picked them out himself and has worn them about 3- 4 days out of the week for a little over a month. We have gone hiking three times, riding the bike and general walking to and fro. While they are comfortable, he said they felt a little too snug at first. The disappointing part is that the outer layer of suede fabric has torn in the front right where there is a stitch, which seems like a quality issue, since it has only been a month of wear. I am not so sure it can still be considered waterproof now that this tear has happened.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Ldp9 from Good looking I bought this shoe thinking it would be wide enough for my feet but the first pair was too short so had to be sent back. The second pair is the correct length but doesn’t seem to be very wide for a wide shoe. I’ve only worn them once so far but they seem comfortable enough for a five mile walk. They don’t get my feet all sweaty so they are breathable. I think I’m going to like them a lot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kingvalen80 from For big guys Very pleased with the shoes, service and Columbia. As a big guy, 6'3" 380 lbs, it's hard to find good quality without paying a premium. Columbia has a really big guy section. These hiking shoes fit great. They are very comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Wigwagn1 from Good Value for the Price This pair of hiking shoes was purchased to replace a pair of very comfortable Columbia Pagora hiking shoes that I wore for a number of years. The Redmond has a little less cushioning than the Pagora, which is no longer being marketed unfortunately, but overall the shoes are a good fit and are holding up well.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Victor58 from Excellent shoe I'm an so delighted with this purchase. It's hard to believe that a NEW shoe could be so comfortable at the very onset. The quality of construction, is what one could expect from a Columbia product. With fall just a week or so away, am so looking forward to wearing them more often. Thank you Columbia!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Backroadwalker from Hiking shoe I normally wear a standard width shoe but this shoe runs a little narrow around the toes and had to order the wide shoe offered in my size to get a comfortable fit. Great shoe otherwise. Long lasting and good support for the arches.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Factuary from Extremely comfortable Cushioning may be excellent but only time will tell. Love the wide width wish that option were available in more styles, particular Peakfreak Venture styles which are much better from a waterproofing perspective. My socks toes get wet in Redman walking through heavy dew.

Rated 5 out of 5 by PaulyShore from Keeps my feet dry Needed a light weight shoe that was waterproof for mowing lawns. Without any additional waterproofing these shoes do keep my feet dry both from dew and water, but also enough air flow so they're not making my feet sweat. Great traction have yet to slip even on wet retaining walls or pool areas.

Rated 3 out of 5 by tcopa from Poor fit This is my second pair of the Redmond Low hiking shoe. My first pair was a standard width show and we tight, so this time I bought the wide version and they were still too narrow and also ran small. I was impressed when I inboxed the shoe as it seems well constructed and has ample cushioning and the tread looked sturdy- but after wearing them for an 8 hour shift where is spent a lot of time on my feet and walking from place to place- my feet were killing me. To put it in perspective- I just returned from a 7 day hiking and flyfishing trip in CO and WY, and my feet were much more sore after 1 day of work than they ever were after hiking in the Grand Tetons and wading in the boulder strewn Yampa and Arkansas rivers. I’m not sure if it was the small sizing or the angle angle the shoe made my foot strike the ground, but unfortunately I have to report that they were uncomfortable to the point where I won’t wear them again. I’m a Columbia fan so I hope they get their shoes sizing figured out, as I wear a 16 and it’s not easy to find my size in outdoorsman shoes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by GrizzlySGM from Great hiking shoe! This shoe runs a bit small, but for me I am right on the cusp of wide, but I use thick hiking socks so I usually go with wide. These shoes fit perfect for me. I am a retired Special Forces Sergeant Major and I am VERY picky on my footwear! Good, quality boots and shoes are a must for this old soldier that is still more active than most young people! I have found Columbia to be a very good company and one of the few that carry wide sizes. Can't go wrong with these shoes. Highly recommended!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ben9 from Excellent quality shoe This is the second pair of these I've purchased. They are very durable, the last pair lasted me almost 2 years before I realized how much the sole wore. The waterproof works well and is breathable in warm weather. I purchased wide both times and they fit well but I think they might be a little smaller compared to other wide style shoes.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Sstjohn411 from Great shoe! Order half size up! I have 2 pair of these Pebble and Black. I bought the pebble for summer. Liked them and bought black for winter. Very comfortable. Worn them all winter so far in the snow and slush and feet are dry. Not sure how they fair in actual water, but for my purposes they are good. I don't hike, but just wear them as an everyday shoe. I have also worn them in the summer and they are not too hot to wear. I guess some water proof shoes can get hot. I always wear a 11.5W in every shoe I have, but these I needed a 12W.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Dailydogparker from Great shoe Have had this shoe for a few weeks now , in the PNW. Quality is strong, fits similar to other Columbia products, cushioning in the sole is great, great traction and grip. Weather-wise they have kept my feet dry on the few wet days we've had since I've owned. But I feel like they will do well in heavier rain a well. Sticky clay type mud does stick to sole fairly heavily but not worse than other brand would.

Rated 3 out of 5 by bigjimbo from runs narrow even the wide version just bought the REDMOND in 14 wide and it ran really narrow. could hardly fit my foot into it. was trying to replace an older version of the Redmond from a couple years ago in wide that fit just fine. The sole was about 3/4" narrower than the older version. Ended up buying the Grand Canyon Outdry in the regular size 14 and it fit me just fine even though I have a wide foot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by yms1101 from GREAT walking/hiking Shoe I have bought several pairs of shoes from other companies. I then discovered Columbia and will never go back. I bought this pair of shoes. It holds up, true to the fit, comfortable. and enjoy wearing the shoe. I have got several of my family members to switch to Columbia and they are truly happy.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Jason22 from Not worth the money. I purchased these shoes 6 months ago for daily casual wear. I have other Columbia products that I am completely satisfied with. These shoes are not the quality I would have expected from Columbia. After a month, the rubber toe came completely unstitched from the fabric, and the cloth where the toe bends is ripped on both side of each shoe. Definitely not well built. I would request a refund if possible.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Ricky65 from Awful Shoes Unfortunately I had to return this shoes, and I said unfortunately because I bought them for an excellent value. First problem: overweight. Far too heavy for what they are. The weight is about the double of my regular city sneakers and not that much lighter than my heavy duty hiking boots. Second problem: after wearing them indoors for 5 minutes my right foot started hurting.

Not breaking them in or hurting my feet just slipped them on and they are so confy. I would high recomend these shoes. FYI they are waterprfoof for dew a stuff. But well worth the money

Rated 4 out of 5 by BigGlen from Great boot, but not waterproof This is a fine boot which I wore 850 kms across southern France and northern Spain in the Camino de Santiago without a single blister. However, they did not live up to the advertised promise of being waterproof. They were fine in light rain, but if the rain got anywhere near serious, my feet got soaked. There is still tread on them, and I will wear them for walking in the city, but not for any expedition where I depend on my feet staying dry.

Rated 3 out of 5 by herbertryanc from Runs Very Small! Don't let the review from the person saying that these shoes don't run small fool you. They very much run small. I have wide feet and I normally wear 9.5W. I purchased 10W and they are still very small and unwearable. I am returning them as we speak.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sutphin from So far so good I had read the reviews and saw that there were some that said this shoe ran small (not just small but really small) I followed suit and went with a larger size. I found the sizing to be true to fit and now how a shoe that was a size and a half too big. I returned it and reordered with the correct size and fit is good. I'll be hiking this January for 50 miles and can follow up with how the shoe holds up on that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Rayk from comfortable and sturday These shoes are just what I was looking for. I wanted a reliable cold weather shoe that was comfortable with cushioned support. I need a wider shoe so many brands do not fit comfortably. But this shoe met my needs. I sometimes wish I had bought 2 pairs.

Rated 4 out of 5 by doug123 from Nice shoe, runs small! I like the shoe, but order one or possibly two sizes up from your normal. I normally wear a 12, but ended up with a 13, and would probably prefer a 13.5 if that existed. My one complaint is that the wide version of the shoe seems narrower than most wide shoes too, which means this shoe probably won't last as long with daily wear.
