Men’s ROC™ II Pant is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 96.
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Just like everything else I buy I get used to something and I really like them and they just up and change them. Otherwise. Great product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 3rd pair Roc II pants This is the 3rd pair I have bought and they all fit the same.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from first time First time I have bought active pants other than jeans and happy with the purchase. I do have strong thigh muscles and the pants are just slightly tight in the thighs but perfect waist and length (very true to size). Happy with weight and texture of fabric and time will tell how well the material wears but from initial "feel" I believe they will wear well and get only more comfortable with use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Same old same old - it’s a good thing! These are my daily go to pants when cold (and the related shorts when warmer) and have been for a number of years. Is that new and particularly exciting? No. But how great that a manufacturer continues to produce a winner year end and year out and doesn’t screw it up, just to be “new”. Thanks Columbia for recognizing that many (most?) of us like the dependability of a great product that continues to be available.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Columbia ROC pants My husband farms and these pants are perfect. They are durable and comfortable which is two things that are hard to find in one product. I would recommend them to anyone that needs good work pants but also like to be comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Men’s ROC II The ROC II pants are great fitting and very comfortable. They seem to be wearable right out of the dryer with minimal wrinkles. They are very flexible and the pocket configuration is great. The extra zippered front pocket helps keep things secure.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Lessor quality and sizing As mentioned in numerous reviews, the ROC II pant is a move backward by Columbia from the original ROC pant. Fabric feels less substantial and the sizing is a deal breaker. The lower waist and much tighter stride makes the pant uncomfortable. I am reordering a larger waist size to hopefully find a suitable option, but based on reviews, I am not holding out much hope. If the larger size does not work, I, too, will stop wearing ROC II pants and be forced to search alternatives. Columbia, please consider bringing back the original ROC.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tough as a Rock This is the second pair of Roc Pants I've owned. The first pair has been worn 'thread thin' at the knees... soon will turn them into Roc Shorts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great fit Ordered these pants to have something that I could wear in the office, but also would be durable in the field. Looks nice enough to wear casually but stands up to wear and tear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great These pants are great and practical. Good for use in the yard or a casual get together with friends and family. They look GREAT!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Roc II Pant These pants did not fit,. These pants run small, smaller inseam and do not fit like the old discontinued Roc pants. Recommend reestablishing the old Roc brand pant.
Date published: 2017-12-13
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Like the ROC IIs just as much as the original ROCs I purchased several pairs of the original ROC pants years ago and have loved them. It was time to order more, and I wondered what the difference is between those and the new ROC IIs. Despite the mixed reviews, I ordered a pair and I really like them a lot. The cut is similar to the old version but slightly more fitted and modern. And I do mean slightly. They are still loose and comfortable, but the old version seem a little (too) baggy by comparison. To each his own, but I'm very happy with the ROC IIs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from ROC II Pant... You bet! For as long as I can remember I’ve been wearing the ROC II Pant. They provide a comfortable and lasting fit for an active lifestyle. My livelihood in the outdoor industry revolves from Office, to Water, and then to the Woods. Stylish look to wear day to day, if there’s a “no jean” policy at your workplace. Comfortable fit to spend countless days on the lake chasing trophy freshwater fish. Quality material that’s tough enough to take you to the bush and bait your bear sites... And then later go for an afternoon walk through the grouse woods. Am I a huge fan of the ROC II Pant? You bet!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Roc 2 Good Fit and Functionality I'm still wearing some Roc pants from 2007, but they are finally showing some wear at the pockets so I retired them for gardening. They are a generous fit, with lots of leg room and a good closure. The Roc 2 are a slightly slimmer fit, but they are very comfortable (for an active cyclist and gardener). I love the blue colour which has the look of blue jeans without the jeans themselves. There is a nice zipper pull in red which makes the zippered inside RHS pocket easier to access with one hand. The cloth feels slightly lighter, and only time will tell how long this "granite" cloth will wear. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Life is Good (...Pants Version) Sometimes it just the little things that matter. These ROC II pants are the definition of comfortable. The fabric is what I like the best. It's a sturdy comfort feel you don't get with other brands. It's that fabric, coupled with the exacting it and finish, that make it hard to find a comparable pair of pants. And, by the way, these are a replacement for the original pair I had been wearing for over 2 years (The originals continue in service on gardening duty !). Life, in these pants, is good.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great everyday pants I've bought two pairs of these pants. They fit well and function great in both the outdoors (I live in Alaska) and while at work. They are quite durable and after nearly 6 months of use out of my first pair they show little to no wear.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from ROC vs ROC II If you were a fan of the ROC pants chances are you'll be disappointed in the ROC II. Shorter waist, tighter in the legs. Fabric is different. 6' 3", 230lbs; wore 40/34 in ROC. ROC II, same sizes feels a whole size smaller in waist, crouch, waist.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Small Changes but still a good buy Finally had to replace an old pair of Roc pants and was happy to see that Columbia had not cancelled this line. Small changes (button instead of snap, no pen slot) were noticed but do not detract. Prefer the Granite Cloth to the cotton canvas in the Ultimate Roc II pants, but they both have their uses.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from awesome fitting rugged pants! I love these pants! True to size, rugged enough for ranch work but nice enough to wear into town. I will definitely order another pair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great, durable pants This is the 2nd pair of Roc II pants I've ordered from Columbia. The last pair lasted twice as long as other brands so I'm very impressed by the durability and comfort. Will definitely buy again, keep up the good work!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Had to return I have worn Columbia Roc pants (snap vs button, side pocket with zipper) for years. The Roc II has changed the fit. They do not come up to the waist as high, more of a hip hugger and they are not as loose. My biggest complaint however is that the zipper does not come down low enough. This makes the men's room experience quite awkward. The whole crotch area is tighter and not comfortable. It appears the Rocs are no longer available. I will have to wear what I have until threadbare and then find another brand unless Columbia brings back the old pattern.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Teach old dog new tricks I loved he older Roc Pant and was bummed that they were not available. I relented and bought the model IIs and am not disappointed. New button but otherwise just as comfortable.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from This Columbia spokesman is moving on Well, these are a disappointment. I have worn Columbia clothing almost every day for years. My friends call me "Columbia Man"; my response has always been why would you wear less than top quality? Anyway, my closet full of original ROC pants is finally starting to get threadbare, so I went to the store to check out the ROC-2's. Cheesier fabric, tighter fit, just a feeling of corner-cutting across the board. I had read all of reviews about how they are different, how they pill, how they just don't last, but I am The Columbia Man so I was giving the benefit of the doubt. Well, so much for that, and I'll be moving on in my search for top quality. Columbia will have to find a new spokesman, 'cause I'm out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pants! I’m a jeans and t-shirt kind of guy. But sometimes I want a change from jeans and these pants are great. Tough construction, good looking, and comfortable.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Fit is wrong I used to wear these years ago and loved them. I just threw away a pair that finally ripped in the crotch after several good years of use. They were 34/32. I've bought the same size 34/32 and they are super tight in the waist but the legs are nice. 35/32 are still tight in the waist and the legs start to billow out. 36/32 are too loose in the waist and the legs are like a dress. I'm done with these pants.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for my job As a science teacher I need a pant that is both functional and professional looking. The ROC Ii fits the need perfectly and fits my body as it shoud. It's the only pant I'll wear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Roc II Men's Pants Same great quality and fit as the very first pair I bought. Love the zippered 5th Pocket and especially the side by side double belt loops on the back of the pants! Material holds up very well with heavy use. Great Product!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great work pants Work as a wine consultant. Dress casual most days. These are great for me because they look great, are lightweight and are ready to wear right out of the dryer. And the side pocket fits my box cutter perfectly!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Men's roc pant ii Original roc pants used much heavier and better material. These now redesigned to wear like hip huggers....yuck! Just saving fabric ...have bought 30+ pairs through the years....never again! Sad....

Rated 4 out of 5 by from I only wear Columbia Pants! This is my second pair of these shorts. The fit is good and the weight of the fabric right for a hot summer day. I have so many pairs of Columbia shorts and pants. The one improvement they could make would be to size the cell phone pocket for my iPhone with the Otter Box Defender case, so I could actually use that really well placed pocket. Then this product would be 5 Stars! I have a few pairs of Columbia pants where the pocket is large enough to fit my phone. That's the perfect feature.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect summer pants for the office Bought one pair to try out, ordered 2 more the next week. Lighter than jeans, more comfortable than khakis. Wear them to the office, fishing or on a hike.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Original better So, a decade ago I purchased the original ROC pants. Then 4 years later I noticed it was getting time to order more (I work M-F job and wear those pants everyday) I purchased this version as the original had been discontinued. I noticed immediately that the fabric was thinner and softer (the original got softer the longer you wore it) and after a month the fabric started to pill. The originals never did this. I checked the source of the material and found that they had changed their sourcing. The new pants are so inferior to the originals. I have been able to retain 2 of the original pants, (so only tossed out 3) as for the ROC II, I have tossed 6 pairs in the last 5 years. The original still look better than most of the ROC IIs do. I purchased 10 pairs of the ROC II and pull from this supply when I toss a pair. But it's crazy to me that the ROC II last about an average of 4 years while the original ROCs so far have lasted on average 8.8 years (if the other 2 can go 3 more years (13 total) the average for the original 5 bumps up to 10 years! That's 250% over the version that replaced the original) The original product had a phenomenal rating, I had never seen such a high rating for anything online. There were like only 3 reviews that were less than 4 stars, and 2 of them were for issues that weren't related to the pants. Almost everyone was praising these pants. My only issue was that I would have liked to have seen an Morroccan Red clay color. Oh, in the image the little black specks are the pilling of the fabric, looks fine 10 feet away, but get right next to me and you notice it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great travel pants I have two pair of these pants and I am about to order for my husband. Traveling to Ireland this month and they are great versatile travel wear.
Date published: 2017-06-02
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best casual pants bar none! These are my favorite pants for every day use. The granite cloth is very durable and is excellent for year round use. Not as heavy a bluejeans so great for summer use. Not as light as linen so great for winter use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Happy with a good product I'm 6 feet tall, 175 +/- 5 pounds, and these pants fit like they modeled them on my body. They're among the most comfortable pants I own, seem to be made out of fairly tough material (long-term durability remains to be seen, but I'm optimistic based on the weight and texture of the fabric), and the extra/semi-hidden zip pocket is a nice feature. They look good enough that I'm happy to wear them in a semi-professional environment, too. The only negative I can report is that I was unable to purchase them in a Columbia store, because they don't carry my size in store. (Apparently 34 inseam pants are a low-demand item at retail.) Shipping from the website was fast, though, so that was minor - I just tried on a 32x32 pair in store to verify the fit and then went home and ordered the longer inseam version.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for work. I work on film sets as a grip, and was looking for good tough pants that weren't so heavy I couldn't use them during Texas summers. These fit the bill perfectly. The material is nice and tough, holds up to the abuse of various equipment and gear running into them daily, as well as the rigors of all sorts of locations trying to tear them up. While I do wish that there was a little more stretch, and slightly less weight, I knew what I was buying so can't complain. The fit is good, true to size and a good middle ground between roomy and form fitting. I've been complimented a few times about them. ;) I own about a dozen pairs of these, love em that much.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Long time wearer I've worn these to work (desk job) for many years. I find they're comfortable and easy. They're look more professional than jeans and they're cooler for warmer months.
Date published: 2017-04-08
Rated 4 out of 5 by from ROC II They are not as roomy as originals, but found the fit comfortable. Nice material - Like a soft denim.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Unfortunate...Shrinkage I've worn Columbia pants for years... primarily because Gert's signature inside let me know they would stand up to Middle Eastern deserts, European back-alleys, and rural American bean fields. Never once did I think, "I'm going to get these dry-cleaned." Imagine my surprise after one washing when my perfectly-sized 32" inseam was 1.5" shorter! My indignation grew when I checked the care tag. You can't go "bushwhacking" as the description says and then expect these to get treated like my Hart Schaffner Marx blazer. So, I conducted a few experiments... After my columbia.com order, I purchased 32" and 34" inseams in different colors from Bass Pro and from Amazon and washed them in various formats. All encountered some shrinkage. The 32s were unusable and the 34s were still too long. So... I took them all to a seamstress to let out or add to the hem. Ridiculous, perhaps, but these are my daily wear... they're comfy, fit my butt just right and look decent for years. I will continue to purchase them, with the understanding they'll have to be hemmed every time. BE AWARE... the shrinkage (length only) if washed in warm water and dried on medium heat is substantial. Wash cold and dry low... or Dry Clean as the tag suggests.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I needed These pants are exactly what I was looking for. They are comfortable and I can move, but still look nice. I have several pairs now and hope they stay in stock so I can buy more in the future.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Used to be better I have a pair of ROC II pants that are 8-10 years old and I still wear them frequently (made in Guatemala). They are with out a doubt the best pair of pants I have ever worn. They are made of heavy yet comfortable material and cut for active wear. I ordered several pairs of the new version hoping I would have the same experience. Unfortunately I was disappointed. The material is much thinner and not as comfortable. The cut is too tight in the crotch and overall the pants are not cut for active wear. Needlework does not come close to matching my old ROC pants. No way these pants will last and wear as well as the old style. It's a shame because Columbia used to focus on quality out door sport/activity gear.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from legs tight vs ROC Tried a pair of ROC pants on closeout sale which fit so well I ordered three pairs of ROC II, but unfortunately the thighs fit tight on my cyclist legs compared to the earlier version. Also went from 36 waist on ROC to 35 on the ROC II for a better fit, but waist size was similar. Getting pants that fit is always such a challenge! Aside from fit on me, these are very nice pants.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My new favorite pants These are my new favorite pants. I started out buying two pairs to try them, and have now bought two more. They are durable, comfortable, the zipper front pocket is a great feature. Love these pants.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Bit Tight I have purchased multiple pairs of these pants over the last few years and I still love them despite the fact that the newest version is tighter across the hips and thighs. It's not me because the older version still fits a bit better, From the standpoint of examination the only difference is the Columbia label above the right rear pocket, but there is a bit of material missing from the former pattern.
