Rated 4 out of 5 by from Sleek look pants This is one of my husband's favorite pants from Columbia. He wears this anywhere. I bought several pants for him on Columbia, Exoffiicio, and some other store brands like REI. Among them he likes this so much. He is mid chubby with 6 ft height. Heavy guys usually have thin legs, and this pair of pants is designed well on taping down to lower legs. Two color choices of Grill & Peatmoss are only his. More color options are ideal like black, dark navy, charcoal, dark brown, or light gray. Also the fabric is a little thicker than usual camping pants, which it is even more attracting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable pants! These pants are comfortable, well made. The only thing I would recommend is, instead of snap on button. have button and hole.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All-purpose pants! Waist was a little snug, and usually a 32" is just right for me. Length at 34" was perfect though. Love the material and these pants can literally be used in about any application. Hiking, biking, strolling to the coffee shop, or even dressed up a bit for work. Love 'em. Now I just need to buy all the colors!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not just for outdoor activities but everyday life. I started of with 1 pair and instantly fell in love the second I jumped into them. I now own a total of 5 pairs! For anyone who has worn or wear pants now that restricts them from reaching full range of motion and can't find the right pair that doesn't do that. Look no more! These pants are made of lightweight, stretchy, and durable material. As an avid hiker and an individual who workouts, it can be difficult for me to find a pant that fits my thighs and hips properly. Not anymore. I can easily slip in these and look like I'm wearing tailored pants. I've walked, hiked, ran, even performed powerlifting moves in these and had absolutely no issues with movement restrictions! With the 5 pairs that I own, I haven't found anything negative about this product. I highly recommend this pant!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable/Versatile Pant This pants are very comfortable and easy to wear for hiking and also as business casual. Good to travel with because fabric packs well, is lightweight, and dries quickly. Own several in different colors and now prefer these over jeans. They do run a tad small and had to go up one size for a comfortable waist.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from mesh pockets an issue I love everything about these pants--except the mesh pockets. As another reviewer said, the front pockets turn inside out when you take something out of them, spilling the rest of the contents on the ground. But worse for me is that the the stitching on the right rear pocket has failed multiple times. As a golfer, I had to stop putting a ball in that pocket, yet even then some of the the stitching failed with a scorecard in the pocket. The company has been good about replacing the pants, but even some replacement pockets failed. I love all the other features, but I'm going to have to switch to a model without mesh pockets.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost a Perfect Pant I've owned this pant for almost 2 years now. Sizing first: In almost every pant (from different companies) I usually fall at a 31" waist. Only problem is that half sizes aren't real common, so I usually have to decide between a 30 or 32 waist. My waist measures at roughly 32.5" to 33". The 32 waist in this pant fits me just about perfect. People are saying these pants run small. I'd say they run almost exactly right. Reason being, companies very rarely size their pants to actual waist measurements to make you feel better about your waist line. Compared to other companies sizing, this pant may "run small". Compared to ACTUAL size of your waist, this pant is about dead on. Performance: I love everything about these pants except for the breathability, which is a deal breaker for me. I run really hot when I start moving around, so these have proven to be too warm to hike around in unless temperatures are very cool. Unfortunately, when temps in the PNW start to dip, it almost always means a lot of moisture is coming, so I'm usually switching to a pair of waterproof pants instead. Summary: Overall, I really like these pants and wish I got more use out of them. The material is great, super comfortable. I love how they fit, especially the cut. It's the best Columbia pant in my opinion as far as fit goes. I just wish they were much more breathable than they are. For that reason, I'd recommend them as a great pant for casual use.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome These are awesome. Thick and neat, true size, great length. Doesn't look out of place -I wear them to work everyday. I just wonder where all other colors are gone... Commando, Pond & Black??

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Bought for hiking/fishing in Alaska summer I am 6'1" 175 lbs and normally wear a 32w 34l in any other pair of pants I own. I bought these in the same size and the waist was way too small. Everything else fit perfectly though. I returned them and bought 34w and the waist fit perfectly, but the thighs and legs were now too big. I stuck with the 34w because the 32w was just too tight. So order up a waist size, but you'll have baggier fit pants. The pants were great other wise. They repelled water and dried quickly hiking through rain and by waterfalls. The stretchy fabric was great. The mesh pockets would come inside out anytime I'd take something out of them. The inside waist is lined in a super soft fabric, and the pants are overall very comfortable. Only real complaint is the bagginess of the legs once I found the waist that fit. I hope they make the sizing better and slimmer legs on the next version of these pants or one similar, as I'd really like to get more of them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from versatile and functional I now own 3 pair of these pant and find the indispensable. For active use the stretch panels and breathability are perfect. The look great and perform better. On the trail or out to dinner, these do it all.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from OK for camping/hiking I bought there for late Spring camping in the South. They don't breathe as well as I'd hoped, and they snag on briars. The knee bends are a nice touch, but they seemed too low to be as comfortable as intended (I'm 5'8"). The bottom of the back pocket completely failed after one week in the woods.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pants These are great pants-They have a slight amount of stretch and can be used for golf, fishing ,hiking and casual wear. I love there fit and and toughness. Great pants!! Bought 4 pairs

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome quality, but not flattering to a woman I bought these because I have a straight waist for a gal, and although I love the quality, I returned them. Right at the gusset point on the inner thigh, a weird wrinkle forms across the front of the thigh that was unflattering for me. My husband loves them for work and play.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for travel or home Purchased for a long trip. They are comfortable, durable, easy to launder and look good. They are one of five Columbia pants I'm packing for this trip. Only negative is mesh pockets- prefer more durable material.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Casual Pants The Royce Peak Pants are great, they look good, ware great, andare very comfortable. I love these pants for casual ware. They also pair up great with a PFG Tamiami II short sleeve shirt. Columbia rocks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cool comfortable and water repellant These pants are cool, comfortable, and repel water well. Im buying another pair in another color so I can wear these all summer!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pants I love these pants. Casual enough for everyday use and nice enough that you could rich in your shirt and wear to nice events. I'm 6'4" 200 pounds. I'm pretty thin for the most part and the 36 waist fit great. I wish more brands would just make a 36 inseam but I can make the 34 inseam work. Super comfortable, definitely going to order the other colors!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best pants ever These really are the best pants ever made. Extremely comfortable and functional. I like everything about them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Glad I bought them I had been eyeing these pants for a very long time. Had been too hesitant to pull the trigger on them but I'm glad I did. They have easily become the most comfortable pants I own. I'd been looking for some pants on the slim side, and these pants definitely do the job while still allowing for a lot of flexibility in them. They also breathe very well. Only thing I would say is that I usually have to wear a belt with 32w, but these 32s fit just a little snug.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Pocket seams are weak Really great pants, among the best I have ever owned ..........but the pocket seams are weak. Need to provide a more lasting combination of material for pockets and stronger seam stitching, particularly for the rear pockets. Really needs to be more durable. Otherwise a great product that last a long time.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Royce Peak Pants I have Royce Peak pants in three colors size 34 x 30". I'm 5'6" and 169 lbs. Although the waist just fits, I keep buying them because I like the quality and trim fit look of these pants. I hem them up a couple of inches to wear with my athletic shoes and hiking boots. They also look good enough to wear as casual pants to dinner. P.S I'm currently trying to lose some weight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome pants These are awesome pants! The material is pretty lightweight but still seems sturdy and has a nice amount of stretch. I have three pairs of these pants in different colors, and they are very comfortable and functional.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Pants that need minimal improvement I own Royce peak pants in multiple colors. The stretch fabric is durable and the cut is functional yet modern; the pants easily fit into semi-formal events, work, hiking, or just daily wear. The water repellency, like all water repellent products, eventually wears out and will have to be renewed, but even soaked the pants dry quickly. I highly recommend these. For me, the fit is true to size and the taper toward the foot gives a slimmer appearance that cannot be beat. I love these pants so much I sew repairs when needed. Another reviewer complained about several features of these pants: the mesh povkets, velcro closures on the back, and the snap. The mesh pockets are sufficient, but I was easily able to tear the fabric during a repair. A slightly stronger mesh would be recommended. Additionally, sewing the back pockets to the seat does not work well with a stretch fabric; eventually the nylon thread gives out, leaving a hole for items stored in your back pockets to slide through. I highly recommend a flap pocket for the next iteration. The velcro closures should be replaced by low profile zippers, but the flap should remain; I succeeded in sewing zippered back pockets to one pair and love the security of the zipper. I highly recommend these pants, they are well worth their price and provide great functionality. I use them when hiking, working outdoors, and around town. The pockets are perfect for my daily carry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Favorite I own three pair of Royce Peak pants and wish I owned three more. They fit well, are very comfortable and really resist getting soiled. I bought the first pair heeding the advice that they fit slightly small but found that to be overstated. That pair is now larger than I would like. Adjusting from that I have found the others to be true to their size and my normal size.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from junk pocket fabric, zipper, & snap In 1 year the pocket fabric wears holes - the perforated fabric is a stupid idea. No longevity. The zipper is weak and the store I purchased from says that is the highest complaint they get for these pants. The next highest complaint is the snap. Neither will hold well and NO I am NOT overweight. I never use them without a belt. So my belt takes the stress off the zipper & snap. They are simply POOR quality. I hate that the back pocket velcro will not stay fastened when you sit. Stupid design ideas all. T

Rated 5 out of 5 by from New Favorites Bought these pants for a big bike trip and liked them so much I ended up getting a second pair. They're comfortable, look good and fit great. The pant legs fit well enough to not get into the bike chain either.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My new favorite pants These pants are super comfortable and functional! They're just a bit tight in the waist. I'm 6'3" 200 lbs athletic build and ideal pant size for me is 33 waist x 34 inseam. The 34" waist is a bit too snug so the snap button comes undone sometimes, but I still love the pants. I'm going to order another pair in a size larger and different color. One thing to consider is that there is a zipper pocket on the right thigh that I didn't notice in any of the pictures. I wasn't a fan at first but it's actually pretty convenient!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good outdoor pants Run a little small in the waist for the size. Dries quickly, sheds mud. Very comfortable.
Date published: 2015-12-23
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Seams Rub I really like the fabric and the fit of the pants. I normally wear a 34x32 and that size fit perfect (6', 165 lbs., flat stomach). The legs are a little snug as compared to the ROC pant but that works fine for me. The only downside is the seams at the bottom of the front zip pockets tend to rub my legs irritating my skin. Not a huge deal but I use them more for shorter hikes now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product These are great pants to own. I wear them to office as well as for all outdoor activities. There water resistance and have replace most of my jeans.
Date published: 2015-12-06
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pants but big inventory problems These are the best all purpose pants (outdoors, travel, casual, even work) pants I have owned. Very comfortable fit, though they are clearly a 'slim' fit, which I prefer. But they remain comfortable and have 'give' to the fabric. They wear and travel well. Quite stain resistant. Wash and dry, come out ready to wear. But Columbia seems unable to manage their inventory. They have been out of 32W in most colors for several months now and out in many other sizes also.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Pants! These pants are super versatile, move well hiking, look nice with a button down for dinner out, and comfortable to lay around the house. They defy stains, wash up great. Husband has 2 pair and just bought 2 more. He's 6'4", 210 and the 36"x34" fit well. Could use a little more length if they offered a 36" inseam.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Hiking Pant I bought one pair for a hiking trip to Ireland. They are the perfect weight for 60 degree day with a chance of rain. They kept me dry through light rain as well. I had to order a size large around the waist, but still worked well with or without a base layer.
Date published: 2015-10-18
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just wow! I just wear this pants for 30 minutes walk to work under under heavy rain, shook the pants a little and wow, absolutly dry again. I am buying more of this pants diffent colors. Mine ever blue bought on sale for 40 dollars. Dont worry and buy it and you are going to absolutly love it .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Pants! Buy them now. These pants are simply the best pants that I have ever owned! I used to like the Columbia Cool Creek pants-but they were discontinued. These pants are those pants, but the problems have been fixed. The pockets are deeper, they are true to length and the side pocket is deeper. The stretch material is perfect. I have literally taught backpacking on a weekend and wore these pants Monday morning-no washing-to teach in the classroom! Well worth the cost of no ironing and wrinkling. I bought (2) pairs and will probably get a few more. Problems: I am a classic 33-30 and they only come in 34, which means I always have to wear a belt.

Date published: 2015-06-30
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great multi-purpose pants These pants have been great for hiking and outside work! The material is very breathable and keeps you cool. So far I have only worn these on days up to the mid 80s, but have been comfortable. There is one seam that runs across the pants above the front of the knee that can be a little irritating, but I would definitely still recommend these. These are also refined enough to wear in an office setting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best sport pant I've found These are the best sports pants I have found. They fit perfectly, have a modest amount of stretch so they maintain their looks, and comfort, in long periods of wear - tough enough for outdoor field work but nice looking for casual wear. The side zipper pocket is perfect for the iPhone, and I especially like the fact that, without the cargo pants pockets, these are sharp.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Almost Perfect! 1st I have to say that I have 2 pairs of the Royce Peak pants and wear them all the time, But...These pants are apparently the successor to Columbia's Cool Creek Stretch Pants that were better. I have 3 pair of those and use them for casual, hiking, climbing and even most of my construction/home projects. They were fabulous. Last through all kinds of abuse and shed or clean easily from most all materials, the only stain one pair has is from expanding foam, which destroys most anything. I won't wear jeans anymore, (6 months breaking them in and just when they get right, they rip out!# The main difference between these versions of Columbias is that the new Royce Peaks have too much of a nylon feel, #and sound) when wearing. Its a slight downfall to an otherwise perfect pair of pants. Columbia, PLEASE go back to the Cool Creek stretch material

Rated 5 out of 5 by from favorite pants These are my all time favorite pants. I have three pair and the shorts. I wear them to work, hiking and biking. Amazing amount of stretch in such a robust fabric. Perfect trim cut. Zippered back pockets would be the only way to improve them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent golf pant Very comfortable for cool weather golfing and transition very nicely to any after golf casual activity. They look very casual on the course and not so much like dress slacks! Very water and stain resistant, just beads and wipes off! Very slimming. Love the stretch material. I bought them for golf, now wear them all the time and are my favorite pants!
