Quality pair of hiking pants
I have owned these now for about a year and put many, many “miles” on them. I have found them to be well made, comfortable and durable. They are made of a fabric that has a small amount of stretch to them which adds to their comfort. Breat pretty well, protect from the elements and effective DWR. The little details are nice as well: a soft micro fiber material of inside of waist hem, zippered accessory leg pocket, Velcro back pockets, articulated and gussetted knee area. If you choose to purchase these pants, I would it find it hard to imagine you being unhappy with the decision. Great product!

Excellent hiking pants
Very lightweight, stretchy, and soft. Surprisingly warm as well. They kept me comfortable over two days in the mountains with temps between 35-45 degrees. Seem like they'd stay cool in warmer weather too. Nice fit and nice looking.

Very good pant
A really good pant for everyday use. I gave it an overall 4-star rating. If the pant had the same elastic in the waist band as the fabric and one zippered rear pocket, then a 5-star!

comfortable pant
This is a comfortable pant though it does run a tad small. I was somewhat surprised with the pocket inset to the leg seam, though it seems that a zipper is there on the pictures.

Nice Pants, Size Runs Small
These are nice pants, comfortable and they dry very quickly. They do, however, run a bit small in the waist so keep that in mind when ordering a pair.

Great Pant for Weekends and Outdoors
Great fabric and great for weekends outside. Fabric is a somewhat thin but still provides protection against the wind and elements. Not a winter or cold temperature pant. Great for spring, summer, and early fall.

Nice but not very durable
I really like these pants they fit nicely and look good. Also dry quickly and are breathable for hiking. However, the seam ripped the third day I wore them so they need to be a little more durable.

Nice for Summer
These are nice trail pants for warm weather. They can be used in cold weather if sweats are worn underneath. The Tusk color looks nice, and it fits the look of my hiking outfit. Water resistance is an added bonus.

Amazing Design, Fitting and Comfort
It’s such a great pant with amazing design and fabric. Water repellent to mild rain. Makes little more noise than a traditional jeans. So I wouldn’t wear it in hunting. Apart from that, I love it. You can wear it work in casual Friday or camping, hiking. Absolutely recommended.

Perfect hiking pants for rainy weather
I came across these Royce Peak I pants at a Columbia Outlet Store while looking for clothes for an upcoming trip to Iceland. I don't usually review things but these were worth the time to do so. Extremely flexible to allow freedom of movement and a slim fit which I've come to appreciate as I've gotten older in life. Made of liquid resistant material these pants held up very nicely to the horrendous Iceland wind and rain I was enduring but it should be noted that they are not waterproof alone. I did have to wear rain pants over these and thermals underneath to stay substantially warm in the wet environment. I've come to love these pants so much that I tried to look for more when I got back only to find them very hard to come by in my sizes. Low and behold Columbia had a website sale and found these hard to find pants onsale for 50% off! I jumped on it. It appears they are discontinuing them for the mark 2 version. I love these pants so much they've come to be part of my medical field attire allowing me to look professional and yet stay comfortable instead of having to wear scrubs everyday.

In 2015 I bought a pair of Royce Peak Pant along with other Columbia products. But, this product is what I like most. It was designed to meet my purpose, easy to wear, gives me the flexiblity and toughness that I need. the size is just perfect for me. I always take it with me in my adventures.

Horrible zippers.Columbia ruins great pants
I’ve been buying COLUMBIA pants for years, and until the last year or longer they have been great. But now COLUMBIA has decided to make very short zippers on their pants. Why? A money saving measure? Or maybe designed by someone who has no idea about male anatomy? Or doesn’t care. Go back to the old zippers
Stop this monsense

Nope
I hate the fit. They're like a cheep walmart pant and I'll probably give them away. The seam above the knee makes them very uncomfortable and feel like they don't fit. I hate them.

My favorite pants.
I'm very pleased with these pants. So much so, I ordered one in every color. They're very comfortable and sturdy to stand up to abrasions and the like. I use them on a daily basis, hiking, fishing, riding my bike or just out and around in Kodiak, Alaska. They're a little more athletically cut (they fit closer) than your standard pants but not so close as to be like skinny jeans. The material is a bit stretchy so it doesn't restrict movement. They're articulated too which helps. They are also a bit thicker which is great for cooler weather. So far they've handled everything I've thrown at them without any sign of wear.

Very Comfortable and Well-Made
Reminiscent of my The North Face Tibetan Hiking Pants from the late 90's, but: With a trimmer fit that I prefer, and one more back pocket.
Extremely comfortable.
There is room for improvement:
1) The fly could be longer for more user-friendliness :)
2) The articulated knees could be eliminated because the material already has the right amount of stretch. This would make these pants more versatile they would pass for business casual.

Great pant, waist measurement is misleading
The material and design of these pants is exactly what I was looking for. They're light-to-middle weight and seem extremely comfortable.
Typically I wear a 30" or 32" waist, I ordered these pants the same week as another pair from another manufacturer. The other brand 32" waist pants are a bit loose on me (fine, I wear a belt) and the Columbia 32" were so tight I couldn't snap the fly.
Returning for the 34", which are hopefully not too big.

Great comfortable hiking pants that my husband loves
These are another great pair of pants from Columbia. They are decently thick and well made. My husband loves the fit and how these stretch so they don't seem restrictive. They are great for hiking, camping, backpacking and all your outdoor activities thanks to the stretchy material. Love that they come in different size inseams as well. They do seem to run a tad tight so if you are in between sizes make sure to order up.

excellent travel pants
I wear these pants for travel. I have worn them for ski vacations in U.S. and Europe. They are windproof and slightly heavier material than travel pants made of very thin nylon. They keep me warm when outside but are not hot indoors. They have a dressy look in the black or gray color. They pack well and don't wrinkle like the thin nylon pants do. The stain resistance is great. I packed 2 pair for a 14 day vacation but I could of worn one pair and still looked good.

Flare shape at bottom
Pants are made well and fit well everywhere except the bottom. Below the knee, they flare out and do not have a slim fit at the bottom as the picture shows. This seems to be somewhat of a common style with these pants for some reason.

Stylish, if you don't intend to hike
On the plus side, these pants look great in the fitting room. I would happily wear them in my office on weekends. As hiking pants, they were horrible. As soon as you put on a pack (even a light day pack), the weight causes the snap to undo, frequently, and jams the top seam into the top of your leg causing you to bleed (a belt can slightly ameliorate the former but deeply worsens the latter, so, choose your poison there). These problems only worsen as you have to walk longer distances with any weight of pack. The snap coming undone all the time is far more annoying in cold or wet weather since you have to deal with it under rain pants while wearing gloves (and carrying hiking poles, since you are hiking). So, if you intend on only ever wearing these at work or on hikes through Golden Gate Park/Central Park or somewhere urban to look sporty, then they're fine. If you want to actually hike with them, please, learn from my mistake and buy something else. You won't be able to use them because of the poor design and will have to carry them long distances as needless weight that could be used for other, helpful gear.

Stretch = Comfort and Function
I LOVE the stretch in these pants! I had a different pair some years ago from Columbia, and these are just as great. The stretch means no binding in deep squats like working on carpentry, gardening, etc. Just the right weight for Oregon weather year round (with long johns in the winter.) Love the cut and most esp the function and comfort. Buying more in another color today.
