Great pants by sizing off this year
As most positive reviews before me suggest, these are great pants. And, while the sizing was correct on multiple pairs I have purchased prior to last year, the 3 pair I purchased earlier this year were all over the map. I found this particularly the case with length. Unfortunately, I did not discover this until several months later while on a trip, too late for returns, but one pair turned out to be about 2" too short! I will now purchase some more, but check them carefully when they arrive.

Great Travel Pants
I just bought my third pair of these pants. After trying my first ones I bought a third pair. They fold into a very small package and are perfect for travel winter or summer. Besides not taking up much room in a suite case, you can wash a pair in the evening and they will be dry by morning. Also, lots of pockets for carrying items when touring. Love these pants!!

Happy husband, happier wife!
We travel. A lot. So naturally, we prefer clothing that is light weight, packable, easy-care, and wrinkle resistant. We're in our late 60s, and those clingy, odor trapping, synthetic materials that stick to your body just don't quite work for us. We kayak-fish, and for his birthday, I purchased Columbia's Backcast convertible fishing pants for my husband. He loved the fit, UV protection and comfort, and I loved how nice they look straight from the dryer. Got him a second pair before a cruise to Alaska, and he said the only thing that was missing to make them the perfect travel pants was more pockets. So the first place I checked was Columbia, and voila! In their Silver Ridge Cargo pants, we found the same excellent fit, UV protection, comfort and easy-care features. Plus, plenty of pockets, including a zip-closure pocket on the left leg, which is perfect for my left-handed husband's phone.
Now his only trouble is remembering which pocket he put the rest of his stuff in.

Now a walking billboard
These pants used to be a great travel/hiking pant: lightweight, stain-resistant, quick-drying, and lots of secure pockets. But Columbia ruined them: now they come with “OMNI-SHADE” embossed in shiny reflective letters on the right pant leg. Who in their right mind would want to walk around in pants emblazoned “OMNI-SHADE”? Tried to remove it with an acetone-based stain remover, but no luck. Please, Columbia... go back to one small, tasteful logo per item, please.

Best traveling pants I have owned.
I had a pair of these that had zip off legs that made them shorts, which made them great for air travel to different climates. Columbia seemed to stop making them in my length (36”) and I babied the pair that I had. I even wrote a letter to Columbia asking for my size back. I recently noticed that they had them available in my length again without the zip off legs. I bought as many colors as I could in my waist size. I rarely actually used the zip off legs anyway. The zip pocket holds passport and wallet perfectly. Pocket on the other side holds the phone, but is not secure enough for some of the pickpocket capitals of the world. The elastic waist band and very light/breathable fabric make them great on long flights. I just noted another color became available in my size and I will add that to my collection. Waist runs small but length was ample.

Perfect for my Needs
In hot, sunny and buggy ATL, I needed something for both sun and mosquito protection - that wasn't going to be too hot! I wear 32 X 30 and these pants fit perfectly and are extremely comfortable - even in 90 degree weather. I wear them now for yard work and couldn't be happier! No more bug spray!

Nothing Better!
Bought 2 pair for trip to Dolomites, pants fit well especiallly not baggy. One zipper pocket and one flap pocket make for easy storage. Washing and drying was almost too easy. Washed in the shower, then hung to dry in only a couple of hours. Stuff into bag and no wrinkles, great comfort.

These pants fit well (semi-loose fit) and look good. They are very light and pack into a small space. I wear them for hiking and they are super comfortable. After trying them on, I immediately ordered a second pair. I am 6’7” and the 36” inseam is almost too long for me. I might try 34” with my next pair.

Great Summer Pants
I work outdoors in Georgia. In the summer time, that can be absolutely awful, but when I'm out in the woods or in a field with high grass I like my legs covered. These pants are perfect for the job. They're super light weight, dry quickly, and allow enough air circulation to enjoy an occasional breeze.
When they arrived they were so light I thought they might fall apart or rip easily at work, but I've been wearing them regularly without issue for a couple months. I even bought a second pair in another color (but the convertible version so I can unzip the knees for air vents).
Only negative comment is that they were a little long in the inseam. The waist fit exactly as expected.

Light Weight Pants
I've worn the pants for two weeks and I think they are very comfortable and I especially appreciate the slight elastic waist band that allow ease of wear. The fabric is very light and initially you could easily think they will not hold up, but working around the yard and walking through brush they have proven to be pretty durable.

Great pants
I do volunteer work for COP Citizens Observer Patrol for our City. Black pants are part of our uniform and Columbia brand are the best. They fit true to size, are very comfortable, very light weight, wick moisture away, have the UV feature, and plenty of pockets. They are so easy to wash and day without wrinkles. Excellent Hot Weather Hiking Pant
If you do much hiking during hot weather and have little shade, these pants are really great. Shorts expose too much of your skin to the hot sun and moisture evaporates too quickly to be of use for cooling. I've read that skin under long sleeves and long pants is as much as 10 degrees cooler. The UPF 50 sun protection is a big plus

Great for Heatwave
The heatwave weaken me terribly in cotton/mix clothing. The Silver Ridge Cargo keep me cooler & dryer than anything else I own. Also,, appear to be doing a good job of protecting my skin from the sun.

Great for hiking
I recently took these pants for their first in-field test: a full day of wilderness hiking on Isle Royale National Park. They held up beautifully. When it was hot, they kept me cool. When I got wet or muddy, they dried rapidly. Basically, they did exactly what I was looking for when I bought them.
Only one minor thing - I would have loved if the front pockets were an inch or two deeper. I just prefer that extra bit of versatility. Overall, though, a great purchase, and I plan to buy another pair.

Solid pants that get the job done.
I own five pairs of these pants because I wear them every day working in the field as a wildlife biologist. These pants are lightweight, quick drying, and feature a modern fit that doesn't look ridiculous like some other, baggy hiking pants. They fit true to size but be aware that they are on the slimmer side especially in the crotch area. My only complaint is that they aren't particularly durable in terms of resisting tears from thorns, barbed wire, ect. and I've had a couple rips in some of my pairs with one pant being shredded apart from an atv accident. Still great pants for all around outdoor activity and I highly recommend.

Does what it says
these pants definitely do their job. my husband likes to wear these underneath his waders when he goes fly fishing. Recently he tripped over a rock and fell in the water and his waders filled up almost full. within 10 minutes his pants were completely dry due to the material. they're lightweight, they're moisture-wicking, they keep you cool even when humidity is 100% outside, and they're wonderful for resisting stains.we definitely recommend these 100%!

Golf in NC
In the early Spring in NC we have morning temperatures that start in the mid 50's warming to the high 60's in the afternoon.
