Men's Silver Ridge™ Short is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 44.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Shorts. Just what I needed. I lost a bunch of weight and needed new shorts. These filled the bill perfectly... light weight. Comfortable. Dry fast when they get wet.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Men's Silver Ridge Shorts I was looking for a replacement/supplement to some old omni dri hiking shorts for a hiking and sight seeing trip in Europe. Theses are inferior to the omni dri for travel and hiking because they do not have the zippered pocket inside the front hip pocket. I have found that usefull for protecting a wallet and car keys on travel and on hikes. Otherwise it is fairly decent. It is light weight and should dry quick, which is favorable over cotton for travel.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from shorts didnt realy care for the belt but love the shorts, used the belt for a tie down for my cooler

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Silver Ridge Shorts Best shorts I've ever owned. Lightweight but very durable. I am a nature photographer and spend a lot of time outdoors. Pockets and zippers seem to be strong. I live in Very Hot climate and these shorts are great for this weather and even year around for me. They dry quickly when wet. I keep an old pair for fishing and I keep a newer pair for going out to dinner. They feel extremely comfortable to wear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Shorts These are comfortable, light and weightless. I enjoy them very much.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best shorts ever...... I do a lot of hiking and exploring all around Lake Tahoe. These shorts offer the best in breathability, lightness and comfort. During the course of my adventures, I often cross river beds or wade through shallow parts of a lake, these shorts dry extremely fast and leave me feeling fresh. They also prove to be quite versatile as they pack small. What else? They seem to be very durable as well, I've brushed up against rocks and have fallen a few times on the trails...these held up great. Also, they're super comfortable wearing around town.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The best My favorite shorts. Can wear them several times without having to wash them.
Date published: 2014-05-13
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good shorts Seem like a good pair of shorts. It's still winter so honestly I've only really tried them on. Seem like they should hold up though. They're very light so I'm looking forward to wearing them when the weather really warms up. they do run a little small. I wear a 30 and I got 32's and they fit perfectly.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Men's Silver Ridge Short I ordered a waist size of 30, but the actual size is about a 33 or larger.
Date published: 2013-10-23
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good Overall Good shorts, extremely quick to dry so great for hiking. But one major issue I had is that the main zipper fly in the front jams and gets stuck a lot. It is a cheap looking zipper and simply gets stuck and you have to carefully guide it. The "security zipper" on the side of the shorts works very well in contrast. I mean, come on Columbia isn't the fly zipper a LOT more important, shouldn't you make sure that one works perfectly? Overall I don't think these shorts are built to a $40 quality, I'm borderline if I'd recommend them or not.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Silver Ridge Shorts The Silver Ridge shorts are an outstanding addition to the Columbia collection. Im very impressed with the durability of te shorts. The are extremely cool, comfortable and they dry fast.
Date published: 2013-08-28
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Color When viewing the gravel online, they appeared gray, although when I took them out of the box they look more green than anything. Other than that I really like the product.
Date published: 2013-07-31
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Shorts These shorts live up to the billing! I can wear these to work or golfing. Nicer look than regular cargo shorts but I have several pairs of those too. Light, comfortable, great for South Florida living. My only negative is the stitching seems inferior around the pants button hole. They were frayed on all 3 pairs I bought. I will keep a watch on that, otherwise I am completely satisfied with these shorts
Date published: 2013-07-21
Rated 4 out of 5 by from zipper I love the shorts but after wearing them for the fourth time I had trouble with the zipper sticking. (you should have seen me trying to get them off with the zipper stuck at the top). My wife did something that makes is work so far. I considered returning the item but didn't want the hassle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Shorts These shorts fit well, are comfortable, and appear to wear well. The "technical" fabric is light and dries quickly, which is just what I need when kayaking or hiking.
Date published: 2013-07-15
Rated 5 out of 5 by from My Dream Shorts! Magnificent all round quality shorts just a little more dressy than my Cargo ones. Hard to know which pair I prefer as totally in love with both pairs
Date published: 2013-07-09
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great shorts Very happy with these shorts. Purchased them for fishing/ summer and really like them. I took other peoples advice and ordered a size up. Great fit!
Date published: 2013-06-28
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great fit Too early to gauge durability, but the fit was perfect. I would be classified as slim. Fantastic weight, perfect for summer wear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Quick Drying Dress Shorts These were a gift to my husband for his birthday. He like the light weight and coolness of the fabric. He wears them all the time, except when working in the yard. He plans to take them on a hiking expedition with our son and knows they'll dry quickly if they get wet. I have a hard time getting them to the washing machine as he is always wearing them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Silver Ridge Shorts They fit well. dry quickly during hot conditions. I bought them to primarily play golf and during hot times, prevalent in the low country of SC, and they perform as advertised.
Date published: 2013-06-08
Rated 4 out of 5 by from great pockets..especially the zipper on the side pocket Have been looking for this nylon short and am really happy that I was able to purchase it.
Date published: 2013-06-05
Rated 4 out of 5 by from good fit These shorts look good and are lightweight. Plenty of pockets but stuff can bulge out as the cut is somewhat narrow.
Date published: 2013-05-09
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Shorts performed well Used these kayaking and zip-lining and they were very quick to dry after getting wet. Comfortable but thought they ran a little slim in the leg for this type of activity.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent these shorts will exceed your expectations.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Silver Ridge Shorts Great all around shorts. Mostly use for fishing, keeps me cool in the 90+ degree humid NC summers. The material is light, it doesn't hold up like heavier cotton material, but that is to be expected. Highly recommend overall.
Date published: 2012-10-08
Rated 1 out of 5 by from You asked for it In addition to being overpriced, I didn't like the fabric or the fit. They've been returned.
Date published: 2012-09-30
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great outdoor shorts. These fit perfectly. Nice lightweight shorts that dries quickly, and wash up well. The accompanying belt is a great match and unhooks easily.
Date published: 2012-08-27
Rated 5 out of 5 by from big kids like them too I bought these shorts for my teenage son, who has grown out of boys' sizes. I have tried several different brands of khaki-style shorts, and I tried these because of their versatility. They can pass for khaki-looking but can function as athletic shorts. He says they are the most comfortable, most roomy and most lightweight. He has asked me to order more. I highly recommend them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I love these shorts These are great shorts. Cool in hot weather, no wrinkles. washable, and they come with a belt!
Date published: 2012-08-08
Rated 2 out of 5 by from too small Columbia is obviously cutting back on material. Larges are now, at least an XL or XXL
Date published: 2012-07-31
Rated 5 out of 5 by from very nice, quick dry material and they come out of washer like new I've bought 3 pairs total of the same, 2 are great, but the third is horrible quality control. there are clumps of material and lots of loose strings and is like Wall-Mart quality at best. These shorts are very comfortable.
Date published: 2012-07-26
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Sure to fail This was my third pair of shorts in recent months and they don't seem to be any stronger than two other pairs that I've used while guiding in Alaska and Arizona. I have found similar shorts that are much stronger and better for the price point.
Date published: 2012-07-26
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Real comfortable shorts Great fit and great look.
Date published: 2012-07-14
Rated 2 out of 5 by from A design change and not for the better I recently purchased a second pair of the Silver Ridge shorts. They seemed to have made subtle changes in the design that reduces the shorts functionality. The right hand wallet pocket is now two inches shallower. The belt no longer has two clasps. On further inspection the belt loops are narrower also. The bean counters at Columbia have changed the design functionality by reducing the amount of material and quality of the shorts. This seems to be the latest trend in clothing manufacturers to increase their profit margins. What a disappointment!
Date published: 2012-07-06
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not the same as my last pair I had a similar pair of shorts like this and used the tag information 0n my old pair to buy the new pair. The shorts were small and not the same material. According to the tag information they were the same but you can clearly see they aren't the same.
Date published: 2012-06-27
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Men's Silver Ridge Short Really like this short. Legs are not "huge/floppy", but trim and neat and present a nice look. The material is extremly comfortable and light. Moisture/water dries quickly Very comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Get Rid of Your Gym Shorts Great fit for my soon to be decreasing waist size! Has 5 non-bulging pockets that blend with material. In other words, you don't look like your wearing doofus cargo pants!
Date published: 2012-05-23
Rated 5 out of 5 by from great all purpose shorts These shorts are great. I started with one pair and now have four. I use them on the boat and on the golf course. They are cool, the oil stains wash out, and the 10 inch length is perfect. for all around use.
Date published: 2012-05-22
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome Shorts! These shorts are awesome! They keep you cool in the summer, or in my case all year round. I'm a fly fishishing guide, so I get a lot of hiking time. My only complaint is that these shorts fit me a little tighter than expected. I normaly wear a 38" shorts, but my legs are more muscular so they fit a little tight when I sit. Othewise, they are still comfortable.
Date published: 2012-05-17
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Narrow fit I ordered these for my husband and he is a pretty trim person who wears and loves other Columbia clothing in the same size, but these shorts were so narrow that he was not comfortable sitting down in them and I returned them right away.
Date published: 2012-05-15
Rated 5 out of 5 by from great shorts for the heat these shorts are extremely lightweight and shed body heat very well. I wore them on a 3 day backpacking trip and never noticed anything to complain about in terms of function. The belt does seem a little on the cheap side, but a belt is a belt, and you can easily swap it out with one more to your liking. I'm 5'5'', measured my inseam myself, and it fit great.
Date published: 2012-05-15
Rated 4 out of 5 by from good product These are perfect for hot environments. Very comfortable, light weight and dry very quickly. Also have a convenient zippered pocket on the left leg. I'm 5'11'' and the 10" inseam is right at my knees, which I like. They do fit a tad small in my opinion and the pair I have seem to have quite a few loose strings. Overall I would recommend these and probably even buy another pair.
Date published: 2012-05-07
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great shorts...but not for fjord jumping. The shorts are great and fit well but the rear pockets need a zippered closure if the shorts are really meant for the trail. The open, "blue jean" style rear pockets are useless on the trail and too shallow to securely hold a wallet in a day to day situation. Other than the pockets, I have been impressed and have ordered a second pair.
Date published: 2012-03-04
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Golfer Worn for golf and casual. Very light in weight. Good protection and blocks the wind well. My new favorites, to go along with the convertable pants which I love also.
