Rated 1 out of 5 by Tondaddy from zipper broke great pants until one of the zippers broke about the 5th time I used them....

Rated 5 out of 5 by Guninstructor from Great pants These are my go-to pants. They are light and cool, very functional and very comfortable. Unlike the regular silver ridge pants, the fabric in these has a lot of stretch so the pants move with you making them much more comfortable, and with the zip off legs they are very versatile. I wear these at work all the time, leg sections on for meetings and events, then the legs come off for casual mode in the afternoon. They do run a little on the small side. I wear a 40 and 42 in most Columbia clothing, but had to go up one size for these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Rare01 from Functions as advertised Functional pants, very comfy, easy to move in them, material does not stick to body even if sweating, water is repeled to a point then it gets wet by dries very soon.

Rated 4 out of 5 by OUTDOOR5 from Versatile Pants I really liked the ability to hike in these shorts during the day and the use them as pants at night (kept the mosquitoes off). It only takes a minute to switch between the two versions. The material was soft and light weight, while still providing great sun protection. I will say however that they were surprisingly baggy, a lot more than I expected based on what I saw in the picture. They also ran a little bit big and longer than what I would normally like. Overall nice pants/shorts.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Eddy23 from Comfortable pants The pants fit great and love the stretch feel of them while moving. During the summer months have been mostly using them as shorts and have been pretty pleased with them. The one aspect I am not a big fan of is that they have a slight shine to them that isn’t clear from the photos.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Wumpus from Ride pants Nice pants. Got them for bikepacking, and they work well for ride shorts. Spilled some oil and Stans(latex tire sealant) on them, and it just wiped off! 34 length is usually too short for me so I got 36, but they are a tad long.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SavannahKayaker from New favorite convertible pants I wear light weight convertible pants for camping, kayaking, and other outdoor sports. I usually go with the lighter weight Columbia pants, but I thought I'd try the stretch convertible. I like the fit and the stretch and I think the fabric doesn't wrinkle quite as much, so looks better. I haven't yet tested to see if they work as well in the heat, or if they dry as quickly as the lighter versions--will be testing that as the weather warms up.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DenverHiker from Great pants for any weather These pants are some of the best I have ever owned. I had a grey pair and liked them so much I bought the blue as well. They keep you warm in the winter and cool in the summer, and the convertible aspect is clutch if you’re prone to overheating. I use them every time I hike in the Rockies and I love them. Definitely recommend this product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by omeas from Versatility Purchased this product early January and was surfing the web to find a more durable, flexible and reliable cargo pant that i could take on long hikes with me and my friends. I bought this in size 30/30 and my waist had such a perfectly snug fit but the length of the pant was just a little too “lengthy” (no puns intended). The convertible form of it in shorts has made it so much easier for me to hike comfortable after a long sunny day out here in Las, Vegas. This amazing product made for many outdoors activities as well as daily life has gone through three weeks of fun without hesitation of having to worry about buying another pair constantly is able to put a smile on my face when i am wearing usually as a daily commute to university campus and right after, hiking! Compared to North Face’s convertible pants, the material made out of this is a lot more durable and flexible. I fell in love with these pant the second i slipped them on! 9/10 would recommend and to be quite honest with you i’ve been genuinely happy lately with almost every product i have purchased from Columbia. This company never fails to meet our expectations and everyday is a good day when i have a pair of pant that actually works and keeps me smiling!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Tom2 from Excellent but It is peculiar that I bought two pair of 40x32 pants, not same line, but one fits perfectly and the other was two-inches longer. This particular pair has to go to the tailor for shortening. It is more like 40x34. Worth doing tho, very good quality like everything Columbia makes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by djgfnd from Great update to convertible pants I love these! I had an older pair of NF convertible pants that fit like clown pants, huge! These fit true to size and I am blown away by the comfort level of the material. They are light, they stretch and I'm impressed. I got them for camping and time at the lakes but I feel like I will be wearing them much more than that

Rated 4 out of 5 by jph4 from Just what I needed! I'm 6' 3" 180 lbs and the size 32x34 gave me a great fit. They were a little snug in the waist, but that could be me growing outward, just means a belt isn't required. The length is spot on too. I haven't used them yet, but the convertible function already has me excited. They are fairly light weight, so won't provide much warmth, but I plan on using these in the summer months anyway. The extra pockets and stretch material promise to make these my go to pants for fishing, hiking, and rafting.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mbates from Hiking pants I hike the AT on the weekends and these pants are great. What I really love is the shorts don’t ride up my legs when hiking uphill. I had several shorts with this problem. These shorts really have improved the overall quality of my hikes because I don’t notice I’m wearing them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by USMCJOE from Perfect I have had sizing issues with most convertible pants. To get the length I need (6'2") the waist ends up huge, when the wind blows it looks like I'm wearing a tent! Not with these. They are true to size in waist and length. The shorts are knee length which I prefer. Own 2 pair now which I wear exclusively fishing Walleye Tournaments that require long days on the boat. They don't get stained with worm dirt or fish slim.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ZoeyHiker from Perfect Fit I picked these up for my boyfriend after a month of failing to find his size at any of our local outdoor supply stores. The zip off legs are super easy to use and the fabric is so light, theyre hardly noticeable in the pack. They kept him cool on blustery coastal hikes, but warm enough back at camp. Really, anything to keep my city-boy comfortable enough outdoors to want to go back out again is a miracle. He LOVES the fit and style.

Rated 5 out of 5 by bstewart91yj from Best trail pants I've owned Love the pants, they're great for the trail. Lightweight, cool, and they pack up very small. Only complaint is the pockets are pretty shallow. I have an iPhone 6 in a case and it barely fits in the pocket.

Rated 3 out of 5 by kjk34 from Fine hiking pants I'll start by admitting that I am a female hiking guide and pretty particular about my pants. I order mens pants because women's pants are ridiculously slim-fitting and that just doesn't fly in my line of work. That said, these pants don't thrill me, but they serve the purpose. They zip off, so that's handy, but the ankles don't have zippers so the zipped-off pant legs are tough to get over your hiking shoes; if I wore boots, i'd have to take them off to get the legs off. On the inside of the material that makes up the pants is an odd mesh-like material that snags on your socks and skin as you put the pants on; I can't figure out what purpose it serves. There are sufficient pockets, including cargo pockets which are essential for hiking (you can't keep bulky things in hip pockets while walking for miles), the small amount of stretch is really nice.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Laurissa from Good hiking pant, but too snug I purchased these pants for my husband to use while hiking in Hawaii, unfortunately they are going back because they are way too small. I purchased a 34x34 (he normally wears a 34/35 in jeans), but they were VERY snug around the butt and thigh area on him. The material is very stretchy with a lot of give, but it still looked way too tight on him. I wanted to love them, but wish they ran more on the larger side. I length was perfect for his 6'2" build!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bajaman77 from This product is great quality These are amazing pants/shorts!!! They are exactly what I wanted for outdoor activities. These have a great look and feel to them that they can be worn causal or for activities. I had bought them for fishing because I like to go out early in the morning and when the temperature comes up it is nice to be able to take the legs off and stay cool. I will definitely be getting another pair in different color and would recommend them to anybody for how comfortable they are. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 1 out of 5 by John12345 from Pocket Ripped The rear pocket ripped from my wallet within the first week of wear. This was my second pair of Silver Ridge pants. The first lost integrity of all 4 upper pockets within a year so I bought a new pair and got the stretch model in hopes of different results. I like the functionality of the pants and have been a big fan of them but the pockets need to hold up better to things like keys and wallets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Maxie from A must have for summer These paints are so comfortable as well as the best of pant short combination. The stretch material is so light and adjusts to your positioning well. So if you want to beat the heat as well have the option of getting wet while doing that these Columbia convertible pants will are the ticket. These pants will be with me on our vacation to Vancouver and Alberta this July (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by CampMan from Great Pants These are now my go to pants. I WILL buy another pair of a different color. I spent a week rafting down the Grand Canyon and put these pants to the test. They are a joy to wear and performed better than expected. The stretch fabric is absolutely wonderful. Some reviewers thought they were a bit snug, but I did not have that experience.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Jackrabbitbird from Unfortunately disappointed but…… First and foremost, I am a huge fan of Columbia and will advocate for their products for years to come. My most recent purchase of these pants will not change that at all! However, I extremely disappointed with these pants because they are simply too long. I cannot blaze a trail like that and risk tripping over myself and so I will find an alternative function for the Silver ridge Pants! This is not the first time I have ordered Columbia pants and they are typically longer than expected but the quality and durability is not in question, That is great! I am simply asking that the company looks into what seems to be the issues with the measurements. Overall, for me it was a letdown because they are fairly expensive and I was excited but such as life! I will continue to purchase from Columbia because they are loyal to their customers.. Therefore, if anyone from the company reads this review please help me out in the future, I and the rest of your loyal customers will appreciate that gesture. Cheers and Happy trails!

Rated 4 out of 5 by DocG from Excellent Travel Pants These pants fit great, look great, but most of all feel great. Excellent for hot weather travel. Light weight make them perfect for packing and being able to convert to shorts is a real plus. Wore these on vacation during very hot weather and they were cool and comfortable. Don't know how they will hold up, but for now I am quite pleased with these pants. I know there are more expensive convertible pants out there but, for the price these are very nice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by VJMT from Silver Ridge Pants These pants performed very well. True to size, durable, look great and light weight. My only hangup and its not so much a big deal is that I would have liked to have the bottom removable section have a zipper/buttons at the bottom that would allow them to easily slid off over shoes/boots. I liked to length of the shorts section as they hung at or just below the knee

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kris0621 from Extremely Versatile and Comfortable! I bought to satisfy my work and outdoor needs. I'm able to wear them to work since they look so nice and I can hit the trails immediately after work! Very comfortable and just the right amount of room for free range of motion no matter what I'm doing. Converting to shorts is also a plus if I want to run. A little thinner than I would have liked so I'm not sure how they will cooperate with colder weather but still doesn't take away from my five star rating. Zippers are very well made and durable as well.
