Rated 1 out of 5 by BlakeC from Poor Quality Even Poorer Customer Service Always been a big fan of Columbia due to their quality of product. But after two poor experiences I am forced to say they can’t do pants or customer service satisfactorily. Sunk $60 into the first pants (not waterproof) and had them tear in the crotch in the second month of use. Another $60 on these pants and I’m out $120. While they function excellently at first, they didn’t make it past the 3rd use. And I already learned my lesson trying to stitch them up. The only reason these pants will live up to their 1 Star here is that you can get a full refund if you purchase on this site. Having gone through Amazon for mine I am only offered in store credit (don’t want Columbia products anymore) and I have to pay for shipping to send the pants back in. I’ll be taking my business to a company that treats their loyal customers better than Mariela R.

Rated 5 out of 5 by James1992 from Totally rainproof! I was recently rewarded with points from Columbia and was on the hunt for bottoms that didn't shout "rain pants." I saw these and they are perfect. From the Fit, the look, the color (British Tan), to the quality of these pants. Everything is on point. I was able to test South Canyon Pant out in Big Sur where the weather turned for the worst. I came out of the rain comfortable and dry when I paired these with a waterproof jacket and shoes. I definitely recommend these pants.

Rated 2 out of 5 by FanSinceHighschool from Great While They Last I would like to alert Columbia of what is obviously a manufacturers defect. I am actually highly disappointed in the company. I never thought I would be. I always brag about Columbia clothing. I purchased south canyon pants and also the jacket months back. Everything has been fine. They have kept me completely dry in terrible downpours. One day I looked down when taking the pants off and saw a rip on the side of my leg. I was irate. I was trying to figure out what I could have possibly caught my leg on. The pants still work, but they look bad. About a month later I notice a gaping hole about 4 inches lower than the underarm. That's when I decided to look more closely because I certainly am not doing anything that would keep catching my clothing on things. On both items it was along the seam! It's like after a few wears in the rain, the seams just give way or something. It's the weirdest thing. I still wear the jacket cause I have nothing else but this is crazy, to be spending so much money on clothing, only for the items to fail. The protect very well, but who wants to walk around with holes in their clothes? I'd give 5 stars if it wasn't for this.

Rated 4 out of 5 by LostatSea1810 from Good pants I hiked in these pants for the first time yesterday. They breath very well and truly are waterproof -- I got rained on but stayed bone dry. My only complaint is that some of the stitching around the cuff is already coming off, despite only one use.

Rated 2 out of 5 by DennisK from Skinny jeans Took the tags off my South Canyon rain pants yesterday and wore them for the first time. I squatted down and ripped the thighs out. Mind you, I had to return the first pair I purchased because they fit in the waist but were way too tight in the legs. Not sure who they're making these for, but they fit like skinny jeans (or so I imagine. I can't wear skinny jeans because I never skip leg day.). So, I can fit my fist in the waist, but the first time I bend down to pick something up, I blow them out? Not very useful. I enjoy Columbia products, but I cannot recommend this particular one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by mlewsimpson51 from South Canyon Casual Rainpant bought for a Hadrian's Wall Path 85 mile hike in September, where we'll expect a little rain. I've tried these on, walked around - they're casual, but not sloppy, fit well (I'm 6'2", 195#) - I ordered a 36/32 (waist/inseam) - they fit well, don't seem too hot. Needless to say, I haven't worn them in rain yet (live in SF) ... but they seem like perfect solutions to walking 10-12 miles/day in rain and drizzle.

Rated 5 out of 5 by TedK from Few misses Purchased two other pairs of Columbia water proof pants, both exchanged in favor of this well fitting and truly water proof pants. More like regular pants unlike wider fitting options. They breathe and I simply wear warm long johns under to keep me warm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by AdamDizz from Warm and Waterproof These pants are incredibly warm for how lightweight they are. They are terrific in wet and cold conditions. I am normally a 32/32 and these pants run a little big in the waist. The length is great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by chanski from awesome waterproof pants Fit is perfect, material feels very comfortable considering pants are waterproof, had tried others much cheaper and the material felt like I was wearing plastic, but not these, these pants are great, warm, waterproof, and fit great. They will be a major asset on my trip to Iceland later this year, major reason I purchase them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Starrman49 from New Golf Pants I purchased these pants in the hopes of having a pair of dress pants to wear while on the rainy golf courses of Portland. These are perfect for the occasion! Only caution is if you order the color shark, it is much lighter than the picture. I thought I was ordering black. I guess it was my fault I didn't check to see what color it said. Turned out the shark pants go with my shark & white Columbia 1/2 zip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by EZThin from Great pants!!! I wore these on the AT during rain and snow in mid March. These were the best pants I've ever worn on the trail for these conditions. They are a great quality pant.
