Men’s Vamoose 860 TurboDown™ Interchange Jacket is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 20.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm, Light Weight, Resilient The jacket is extremely warm. I've been wearing it in 35-45 degree weather with 15-20 mph winds, and I haven't even had to layer. I'm just strolling around in a tee shirt and my jacket. The hard shell on the outside in extremely resilient. Also, I was shocked how lightweight the jacket is. There are several pockets for phones and headphones, with waterproof pockets. It's phenomenal. I'm 6'1'' 175 pounds, and a large fits me great length wise, it may be a bit fluffy in the mid area, but it's not a bad fit. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a great coat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from No Complaints! This jacket does everything it's supposed to do. The base turbodown layer is great for chilly evenings, while the outershell is great for when the wind is strong and you need to keep the elements out. The only thing I would be aware of is that the turbodown keeps you very warm, almost to the point of not needing any layers under it for 30s temperatures.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what he was looking for Writing on behalf of my husband - we needed a waterproof winter coat for our recent winter trip to Iceland where the weather can vary dramatically in a matter of miles and hours. We live in the Pacific NW so also being waterproof was key - he wanted to be able to use the jacket at home, too. The coat is extremely durable and very very warm - the winds and rain were relentless in Iceland and we spent quite a bit of time trekking and on glaciers. The jacket was impermeable and withstood everything Mother Nature tried to throw at us. The jacket is indeed pretty stiff but the pockets and features are worth it. The jacket is pretty heavy as well, but should be to be as technical as it is. Only issue was that sizing seems to be off - he's 6'2" 180# and usually wears a large; he went with a medium in this jacket and it fits perfectly. Thankful for free shipping! Highly recommend this coat - it is ready to combat whatever winter weather you might encounter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This coat is just what i was looking for I was looking for a technical all purpose parker type of coat without the fury hood. It needed to be a little longer for standing around in the cold/snow watching/looking out for the kids, picking them up from school, snowblowing, sledding, pretty much all winter activities but without the techie ski/mountaineering look (I already have a dedicated ski jacket). The coat is very warm and toasty and pretty much bomb proof. I just spent last week in Montreal where it was windy and well below freezing every day and night. I walked to/from work every day and walked to/from dinner every night..boy was i glad i had this coat!! There are a few minor issues that have been mentioned in other posts...hood being a little floppy and with little adjustment, main zipper a little tough to work at times, large runs a little tight. I was pretty much aware of these going into this buy hoping for the best and these minor issues are just that...minor. As I said, overall it is exactly what i was looking for in the way of looks and functionality!!! Hope it lasts a long time!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Built to Last! The best money spent on outerwear in years! I bought this outerwear for my son near the end of the season, so although he hasn't experienced a winter's worth of wear he was able to enjoy the inner jacket that detached from the outer shell. Definitely keeps you warm and toasty! It's roomy enough extra layers, although I doubt you'll need many underneath. Extra pockets everywhere, too! Size runs a little large. We had to return the extra large and get the large instead. Money well spent!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Stiff material and too large Bought this after I returned the last on due to broken zipper. First this is way to large. I am 200 pounds and 5'11''. I wear usual XL and ordered XL . This is way too large. Probably L would be a good fit. The upper jacket material is stiff an not at al flexible. If zipped all the way up I fill my neck like in a cast. I am a Columbia fan but this jacket is a no no for me and goes back.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Durable and warm, but the sizing is ridiculous I have worn Columbia jackets for many years now. This jacket is extremely durable, almost to the point where its too stiff, but I suspect it would soften up a bit over time. It was extremely warm and had exactly the look I was going for. The problems were related to the fit. I take an XL in everything, including my older Columbia jackets. I am approximately 5'10" 185 lbs. This XL was ridiculously huge. So I tried a Large instead and found it to be way too small across the chest and too tight in the armpits. It almost seems as if the XL they sent me was really a mislabeled XXL. That is how completely ridiculous the difference in sizes are when comparing the Large to the XL. I was tempted to try another XL, but I really didnt want to go through the trouble of returning a 3rd jacket. Its a nice jacket, but it doesn't fit the way an XL should fit, so I can't recommend this. Very disappointing.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great Material, tons of flaws & problems This is my second try getting a Columbia coat. The collar is too tight when fully zipped up. With a beard my face becomes very itchy when coat is fully zipped up and even without a beard it is tight around the face (I have a very short beard). The chord system to reduce slack on the hood when not wearing a ski/snowboarding helmet is abysmal. The hood flops down and inhibits your ability to see 10 feet in front of you. The zipper, always, always, always gets stuck. Very disappointing for the money I paid. Other than that the actual material is spot on. The coat is waterproof but very rigid and constraining. If I got an XL it would fall off of me. Columbia please make extra space in the collar of future coats, add the ability to control the hood, and fix your zippers. I will revisit and reconsider buying in a few years.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Vamoose 860 Black Really appreciate the jacket. Arrived just in time for Winter Storm Jonas in New York. Jacket really kept me warm while shoveling out of 3' snowdrifts. The wind proofing made the 40 mph winds a non-factor. Like the 3-in-1 functionality and the double zipper(deal maker). Previous owner of Columbia 3-in-1 since 90's college years. Miss the detachable hood. However the special material make this jacket a winner.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Jacket. Order 1 size smaller I am 6' 285lbs. I usually wear a large and that is what I first ordered. The jacket is amazingly warm and is built like a tank. The fabric and color is exactly what I was looking for. I did return the large jacket for a medium and cannot wait to receive this awesome product. Thanks Columbia

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Functional and warm Have had this for two months now in a German winter coming from Florida. Wanted warm and dry and this does the job. Shell is very durable without feeling too bulky. Hood does cover my eyes as some have noted but when wearing glasses this is a plus. A beanie mostly solves it anyway. Normally wear a large, ordered a medium and can fit any necessary mid layers underneath. With mid layers it is so insulated that it can be hard to tell how cold it really is. Lowest temps so far have been in the mid 20's and even a strong wind has no chance of penetrating the shell. Rain isn't coming in either. Overall a great product and my go to jacket for the colder days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket to withstand the elements I've had the jacket for approximately 2 months now. I live in Syracuse, NY and we get lots of cold and snow each winter. I have this jacket in the black shell and black liner. During the milder weather I've utilized the down jacket liner for my day to day activities. It looks really sharp and keeps me warm and dry on the cold wintery days. The down jacket keeps a good fit without having a big bloated puffy look. I utilize the outer shell for the full 3-in-1 jacket usually when I'm going to play outside with my family and when I'm snow blowing. Jacket is completely weatherproof and doesn't let anything snow, wind, water get to me. The 860 Turbodown helps to ensure that the heat generated from my body keeps trapped close to the skin and keeps me warm. The jacket has an ample amount of pockets and they all are zippered to ensure that your valuables will not fall out. I do like this jacket better than my previous 3-in-1 which I had for 3 years that was replaced via warranty. I'm very happy with this jacket and would recommend this for others. I am 5'9" and weight 160 pounds, and feel the Medium provides a good amount of room to move and layer underneath.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Okpik I returned the coat. I can't speak to the warmth of the coat. I got the coat in early December and it has not been below 49F yet, typical for my luck. The coat feels good but did not have room for any other layers like sweaters or a fleece. Maybe it is warm enough with out them for most people but I usually wear a sweater or fleece just around the house and want to wear it under the coat. I purchased it for a cold weather camping class I help teach and I need to be able shead layers as my activity level increases. I did order a larger size. I called customer service before the return and they were very helpful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Coat I've Owned 6' 175 lbs. Michigan. High quality rugged canvas-type outer-shell. Water-Wind Proof. Heat reflective inner lining really works. I walked the dogs for sixty days on a brisk pace (3.5 MPH) for one mile twice per day in Michigan in temperatures of 20's, 30's, 40's & low 50's. And in snow and rain. Warmth is the same. The best thing is that I am not sweating when I get home. I have used this coat while driving Polaris RZR's in 23 F. No wind or cold got through to me. Cons: The hood is too large/long. When deployed, it covers my eyes, even when wearing a beanie. I have a large head 7 5/8. Plus beanie? I must fold & tuck in the top of the hood to keep it out of my line of vision. No big deal. They should add a Velcro solution. The zipper is stiff & is very hard to pull up. I think that the fabric is stiff and is loosening up as I use it. Medium effort today. I'm expecting less effort with use. P.S. I needed to buy this new coat because my old top of the line (15 yrs. old) Columbia coat's zipper kept separating. I like something more firm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great looking quality Jacket This is my second Columbia 3 in 1 jacket. The down liner fits me well but the sleeves on the shell are a little long. The Vamoose is very warm and will serve me well in our northern Minnesota winters.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent winter coat. I wear XL in most shirts and coats, so I ordered the XL but it was way too big. I exchanged it for the L and it fits great. I love the versatility of this coat. The down liner is a great looking jacket on it's own. Looks great with the shell as well and is very warm. Excellent purchase. Thanks for yet another great product, Columbia.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfection! I previously had a Columbia Titanium from 10+ years ago and was in the market for a new one. I knew I wanted all black, waterproof, and 100% able to cut the coldest winter wind and weather. This coat completely does that and meets all my expectations. I have had many complements on how nice it looks too. Thank you Columbia!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket ! We bought this jacket for our son and he loves it ! He loves that he can wear just the liner if it's not too cold and the ability to layer up with the larger outer coat on really cold days.
