Rated 5 out of 5 by AmyLiz from Call me Goldilocks It took awhile, but I eventually I found the perfect coat for me. I originally bought the women’s coat, just like this one, but black, but when I received it, it was too fitted and small for my taste. So I contacted customer service (easy, easy process) and bought this coat instead, but when it arrived, I didn’t like the color. But third time is a charm! I bought the men’s XL whirlibird interchange, in collegiate navy texture and it was just right. Plenty big enough so I can wear a big, thick sweatshirt underneath if needed. Great color, great fit, and great extras. I love all the pockets, and the powder skirt is a great feature, plus the inner coat is really cute on its own - it’s literally like I got two coats for one great price. Very pleased!

Rated 5 out of 5 by mrfixes from Whirlibird Interchange Jacket What can I say that has not already been said about Columbia products. I bought the Whirlibird™ Interchange jacket in January, 2018, but living in Southern California, I really didn’t really have a chance to appreciate all its features until we visited our daughter in Portland Oregon this past March. Anyone familiar with the weather in the Northwest knows you can have sunshine, rain, snow and hail all in the same day. And this jacket proved to me its flexibility. The inner thermal liner is easily removed when conditions require it and the overall protect from rain is excellent. Also, the thermal design of the inner jacket is very effective. With all its features, the jacket is light weight and very comfortable. The material quality and construction is excellent, and as you probably know, Columbia has the best product warranty. It may be my own personal preference, but I do appreciate not having the Velcro along the jacket front zipper.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jacare from Stylish. Multifunctional. Suave! Fit exactly right. Love the multi-functionality of the jacket - it offers me a good range of pockets, whether I have both the inner and outer coat on or just either of them on. Super water proof and the warmth factor is impressive. Felt like I had not left the comfort of my bed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by KaitlinMo1013 from Best Ski Jacket Loved that you can take off the shell when it gets hot. This jacket fits true to size. I bought one for my husband and his son. It’s a “thin “ ski jacket compared to others, but has that thermal layer to keep the boys warm. When packing our suitcase this jacket folds and flattens, which is great!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Boshy12 from Nice coat The liner is a bit small around the chest, so order a size up. the reflective coating is quite warm but gets really hot under the armpits, which is surprisingly uncomfortable. The outer coat has underarm vents but not the liner which is what needs it. The coat seems rugged but quite light. La

Rated 5 out of 5 by GPNYC from Awesome ski jacket I ordered this after my I wore my old coat and cold feel the wind through it. Not the case with this one! It has great rubberized waterproof zippers, it’s lightweight but really warm, and the neck zips up nice and high keeping that area warm (any skier knows this is a tough spot to keep the wind out with all the layering). My only complaint is the the hood isn’t quite large enough for my helmet, but with the balaklava I wear I was still covered enough, plus this is so minor in comparison to how much I love this coat. I’ve been wearing the liner without the shell too, it’s nice looking enough that it works in the office (business casual). I’m getting a time of use out of this jacket already. I’m a big Columbia fan and I can’t see tat changing anytime soon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by emme3089 from very universal I got this jacket for my bf for the winter and he absolutely loves it! it kept him warm all winter and now that its getting warmer out he took the outer shell off and wears the inside coat daily! It was a little bit big on him so i had to exchange the size but customer service made that super simple for me. I would buy it again if i had to.

Rated 5 out of 5 by IanA from Great coat I’ve been skiing in a spider coat for the past several years, but I needed something new this year. Picked up this coat on a deal and was very happy with it on our ski trip. The liner is very warm and the shell moves like a ski coat should. Very happy with it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Mdude from Decent for the price (was on sale) Called to ask about winter coats as no temperature range is provided on website. This was supposed to be a lighter coat but it’s got the silver heat lining and some down or similar filler. Okay for a 20 degree Chicago day. The zipper is tight (probably keeps Out the elements well) but difficult to zip and because the jacket is long it’s tough to get into a car. Needs a double zipper gizmo so You can unzip the bottom a tad.

Rated 5 out of 5 by mrink1973 from Great Coat for the Money My new Men’s Whirlibird™ Interchange Jacket is very warm and sharp looking. If I had any complaints would be a few more pockets, especially a larger one in the inside. Still a great coat that has more than met my needs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RMcGee11 from The best jacket I've ever owned I love this jacket. It's extremely versatile. I wear just the inner layer for anything from a cool fall day to a mild winter day. The outer layer is the perfect rain coat. It has kept me completely dry during some fairly heavy rainfall. Finally, I can combine both layers for the ultimate winter coat, keeping me both warm and dry during nasty winter weather. I've worn it in a heavy snowstorm when it was only 5 degrees outside and I stayed as comfortable as I could be. This is pretty much the only jacket I need from about October until April. Well worth the money. For me, this was true to size. I have two other Columbia jackets, both medium, and the medium size of this one fits me perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by gumbapdp from Perfect Winter Jacket This jacket is absolutely perfect for winter weather ranging from -10 to 50 degrees F. The layers are very easy to change making this versatile for different temperatures and weather. Even with a true to fit size you can still fit a couple of baselayers underneath for frigid weather. The Black Texture color is also fashionable enough to be worn either as a winter hiking/ski coat and professional enough to wear to the office. And unlike other extreme cold jackets, this jacket is not too bulky or rigid which makes this jacket easy to move around in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Janet06033 from Best cold weather jacket ever made!! It is incredibly light, easy to move around in, yet keeps you perfectly warm in -8 degree weather. Functionality is a 10+, and it looks sharp. Every aspect of the jacket is well thought out for ease and purpose. I bought three of these jackets, because my husband and son were crazy about how superior they were to previous top brands we have purchased. Home run Columbia.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Press25 from Whirlibird Coat I just bought this coat because about 3 years ago I bought one for my wife and she loves it. The coat has real held up well and is in the same condition it was when we first bought it. She loved it so much that she convinced me to buy one for myself. The coat is durable, looks good and is made of quality materials. GREAT BUY!!!!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Terry52 from I've come back to Columbia jackets I needed a new ski jacket. I've owned Columbia jackets in the past but went to another brand for my last purchase. I'm back and glad. Although I have yet to give it the true test on the slopes, I've worn it during this frigid cold we're having here on the east coast and it has kept me warm and kept the cold and wind out. I like the color and the fit. The XL would have fit okay but I bought the XXL so I could have a little extra room for layering. Can't wait to hit the slopes next week.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Garand58 from Exceeded Expectations I was very impressed with this jacket. I purchased this for my son who had been wearing a Columbia jacket that was 15 years old and still going strong. The quality of this jacket met and exceeded his expectations. I am sure he will be wearing this one for many years to come. I would recommend this jacket to anyone who is seeking the versatility and quality this jacket was made for. Rated 5 out of 5 by Kayla301 from Keeps Me Warm I've had this jacket for about a month now and it's been the best jacket I've worn in years. Once you zip up the jacket, it becomes so warm and cozy. Cozzy with two z's. Don't really know if the silver lining does anything but I like the way it contrasts the dark inner lining. The material used on the outer jacket is very water and stain resistant and does not show any signs of wear. I'm going to be wearing this jacket every year!

Rated 2 out of 5 by CCNH from Not very warm We’ve had a mild winter here in NH so far, and I wasn’t sure how warm the coat was. I recently spent time outside in NYC on a cold weekend. The temps were in the mid 20s to lower 30s and it wasn’t very windy. I was definitely on the chilly side when wearing this coat. I was wearing a few layers underneath, including a mid-weight wool sweaters. We were walking the entire time, and I usually have to open a winter jacket so that I don’t overheat. That wasn’t an issue here. I never felt warm and could definitely feel the winter cold seeping in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by GSan from Warm but light weight! This is my 2nd whirlibird and would highly recomend for active lifestyles. The warmth with being lightweight and made for being active is great. I'm a person who needs pockets and the amount in this jacket are great. Only thing I miss on this jacket from my older whirlibird is where they moved the snow goggle pocket from the lining (inter jacket) to the main shell facket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by wintercoll from The whole family wears Interchange At this point we have purchased Interchange jackets for everyone in the family. In general I think these jackets are built for trim builds. Our lanky 18 yo doesn't look swallowed up in it. We've worn these jackets on some pretty frigid days in the Sierra's, Colorado and Eastern Washington. The great thing about them is the option to wear just the inner jacket or the shell or combine them all on those really cold days. Super comfortable for skiing/snowsports. The inner jacket is stylish and warm enough alone for zipping around a city on nippy days. My own interchange jacket is going on 5 years with no problems with zippers or seams. Great for the price point--hard to choose between so many good color options.

Rated 5 out of 5 by tbel85 from Great Jacket This jacket is exactly what I needed. I've had my other Columbia for 10 plus years but it was time for a change. I was looking for something I could use everyday as well as at work as I'm in sales which require me to be outside. The jacket is well fitting and very professional looking for work and amazing quality to then go home and enjoy snow with the family. You've done it again Columbia I am certainly a life time customer and products like this is why.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Blue47 from I am freezing with this coat. I thought I had picked the wrong coat but it says online that the Men’s Whirlibird™ Interchange Jacket can be used for snowboarding or skiing to say the least. I don't do either but I still liked the coat. But I am freezing and our weather has only been -3 celcius which is nothing for this part of Canada. I thought I was coming down with something but no, the coat is just not working to keep me warm. Did they leave something out? The fit is perfect and the quality of the manufacturing is top notch. Sorry Columbia I love your products but this one is a 0 for warmth. Cannot recommend. For a winter coat this just does not hit the mark. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 4 out of 5 by chuckie2 from Snug waist but Great Jacket This is a fantastic Jacket, warm and versatile. I love wearing it the only issue I have it is alittle tight around the waist. I know I am a little overweight around the belly with a 39 inch waist, another inch in that area would have made this jacket fit perfect. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)
