Really warm
I love this jacket. I got it to replace an older one which ran a little big , so I again ordered a small, since is said it ran a little small. It is a little too small to wear anything bulky under it but, so far it has been soooo warm that I have not needed another layer. I just have to be careful not to gain any weight or it may be too small. When it says something runs small believe it. Otherwise I am extremely happy with it and it maintains the same excellent quality as its predecessor.

Perfect even for picky dressers
I bought this for my daughter who is the most picky dresser I've ever known. She doesn't like to wear any jackets even during the winter. She loved this one immediately and wears it everyday. I now dont have to argue with her to wear a warm jacket. She loves the look, warmth and functionality. Its true to fit and looks great, best thing ever knowing she will be warm during the harsh winters we have here. My while family now wears Columbia and couldn't be happier, I definitely recommend this to all my friends and family.

Light(we) weight and so warm
This coat has the warmth of a 2in 1 jacket as a single layered coat. It stays warm in wet snow and strong winds. The Omni heat technology is a great feature! Highly recommend especially for outdoor activities and sports like cross country skiing or hiking.

Pictured Wrong. Jacket is good though
Ordered the Nocturnal. The pictured shows a pink chest pocket zipper and pink inside of the hood. There is no pink on it at all. If you go to Columbia's website it looks like what they have. But if you read the reviews on their people complain that their jacket has pink on the zipper and hood. My daughter was disappointed, but got over it. It looks nice, fits well and will keep her warm when we ski or the couple times a year it's cold in Texas.

Cozy and Weatherproof
I love this coat, it is exactly what I needed. It is waterproof and warm, the thumb hole had covers are a nice bonus. It fits a size 14 perfectly with enough space in the arms to wear a sweater underneath. I got the black one and it is actually a dark charcoal grey.

I bought this jacket a little ahead of season, but as soon as I put it on, I knew it would be a great winter jacket. The outside will keep you dry & inside warm. I've always gotten Columbia wear, never disappoints!

Lighter color than expected
I like the jacket but it runs small, I am usually a M but it was too tight on me. I bought the color Nocturnal but turned out a lighter/dull navy blue then expected. I gave my jacket to sister in law and she cant wait to use it in the winter. I was interested in this jacket because a family member has the black one but the color is not a true black, it is a lighter black/dark grey. Next time I buy this jacket it will be a size L and another color.

Very warm and functional jacket
I'm 5'7 100lbs normally wear an x-small. This jacket runs very small so I had to return and buy a new one in small, which fits me better. Kept me warm in a 25-30 degree weather with just 1 layer underneath.

So in love with this jacket!
So glad that I was able to snag this jacket! I ordered the last one in an XL, and I am so happy with it! I ordered it for a ski trip to Santa Fe, and it kept me very warm in some pretty frigid temps as well as some heavy snowfall. I never felt cold while wearing it, even in 8* temps. I love the finger holes for my thumbs as well as all of the pockets! I was able to stuff everything I needed for the day in the pockets, so I didn't have to carry anything around with me. The little zipper compartment at the wrist was perfect to hold the tokens for our locker at the resort. The pocket on the chest was perfect for our rental agreements and ID's/credit cards. I kept a bottle of water in the large pocket on the inside that is supposed to be for goggles I think. I read other reviews that said to size up, and I'm glad I did. I think a large would have fit, but it was nice to have room for layers. I would totally recommend this jacket to anyone. I kept raving about it to my husband the whole trip!

Excellent choice
I walk dogs in Ohio and needed something not fleece to keep me warm when it’s cold/wet/windy outside. This jacket is excellent all around. I love that it zips high so I can tuck my chin in and hide from the wind. The hood overhangs so rain drips off in front of me. The fabric at the ends of the sleeves that tucks inside my gloves to keep the cold air out is ingenious. I appreciate the inside and outside chest pockets with zippers to hold poop bags, phone and headphones, leaving the side pockets for gloves and keys. I like the Velcro zipper cover to keep air from leaking in. Everything about this jacket is warm, flexible and well thought out.

Great breathability, not too bulky
I love this ski jacket because it's the perfect level of warmth for intense movement due to the Omni heat lining. This jacket is also made without an interchangeable inner layer which means you still have easy access to your goggle pocket and inner chest pocket. The material is soft and not noisy, so you can easily wear it around town with jeans afterwards. The ski jackets tend to fit a little tight over the hips so I sized up to a large, which is comfortable and leaves room for layering sweaters or stuffing gloves inside while still being able to zip up easily. With elastic cords in the bottom hem and around the hood you can adjust for more snow activity or you can remove the hood to dress down for more casual wear. The dark red and pink color combo is an easy way to dress up plain black trekking pants or just looks cute with denim :)

Staying toasty warm
Temps have dropped again in the South and I was glad to have a warm coat! The Omni-heat inside makes this coat so very warm! I was outdoors for extended periods of time in 30 degree weather and it was perfect. Temps will be in 20s the rest of the week and I expect to be comfortable in the coat despite the cold. I ordered a medium (I weigh 155, 5’4” with hips). I’d say it’s a tad snug on my hips but not so much that it’s a problem Zipping up. This coat is well worth the money!

Great layering ski jacket
Wanted to upgrade my 15 year old ski jacket. First ordered a medium because reviews said to size up for layering, but medium was too long in sleeves and the neck zipped all the way up was too far up my face. Returned for a small and it fits great with a thermal layer plus a fitted extra layer...just a bit tight in the chest but for the sale price, I’ll keep it. I’m 120 and 5’6”. Note that this jacket is on the thin side and needs layering for adequate warmth—there is no bulk. I like all the pockets and the adjustable hood. And the snow skirt is really neat, I’ve never had one before. Got the red and it’s really a pretty rose girly color, not fire engine red.

Very warm in NE Ohio
I’m 5’2” 100 lbs and got the XS in Lagoon. The jacket is true to size and is a nice fit without being baggy or bulky. The Omni heat fabric covers the entire inside of the jacket, including the sleeves. The hood does not have the Omni heat fabric, but it is a bit insulated. I have poor circulation due to an autoimmune disease and am always cold. This jacket is very warm and definitely wind proof. The hand pockets are warm and zip up. I love the wrist cuffs that keep the cold air out of the sleeves. All the other pockets are great if you don’t want to carry your purse for keys, phone, etc. I’d highly recommend this jacket for cold weather spots like Cleveland, Boston, Chicago, NY, etc. It’s more for temps below freezing. Any warmer and you’ll get too hot, I think.

I should have sized up
I ordered an XL in this jacket after looking at the sizing chart hoping to have extra room for when I layer up. It's actually quite fitted even though I'm normally a size 12. It's especially tight in the hip area, but I find if I wear it above the hips it's not a problem. I don't know if there was an equivalent option in the plus sizes that I would have preferred, honestly, it didn't bother me enough to look and mess with a return.

Nice, quality coat--love the color!
I have been researching coats for months now, and have been tracking different ones based on price, reviews, etc. I took a chance on this one and absolutely love it! It has a lot of great features other coats don't have. The Omni-Heat thermal, powder skirt, zip-off hood, thumb-hole option, and various pockets hidden throughout are a huge bonus! Also, it features a flattering "athletic fit" stitching in the back and isn't boxy like most coats. I am 5'8" and 130 lbs. Based on reviews I went a size up and the MEDIUM fits good. A little baggy in the mid-section but not too much.
I struggle to find coats that are long enough in the torso and arms. This coat is just the right length and does not ride up! The color is not your basic black but the dark gray tone gives it character.

Great jacket, but definitely requires layering
Overall the jacket is great. Very good overall quality in manufacturing, and the color looks great (coral)--much better than the online pictures. The fit is true to size and the jacket very comfortable. The only minor complaint I have is that the jacket is not warm enough to wear alone--even in temperatures in the 30s and sunny. Definitely will need to dress in layers, with the jacket being the outermost layer. Apart from that the form, function, comfort and appearance are great, and this was a very good deal (on clearance). Happy overall with the purchase.

Great jacket
Great jacket. Overall very satisfied. Wish it came in a long for the jacket hit mid butt and therefore it comes up making it look like the jacket is too big. Longer would be nicer for less wind and water on the overall body would be great. I did buy a medium when I’m typically a small for layering. However, I think I could have fit a small everywhere but I was afraid of my bust having an issue (32DDD) it be too tight. I bought on sale so when I went to purchase a small it was no longer in stock. Regret not ordering sooner with both a small and medium. However, I will not return. It’s windproof and waterproof like it says. Recommend buying!

Keeps warmth in
Since my kids have omni-heat jackets, I decided to get myself one (along with some omni-heat boots and snowpants.) I'm 5'6" and around 115lbs, so I got the small. It's still form fitting, but allows room for thicker articles of clothing underneath. I'm one of those people who is cold no matter what. My house is always at 70 degrees and I still need two pairs of pants and a thick sweatshirt. So when it comes to winter clothing, there's really nothing out there that will keep me 100% warm. My first time testing this jacket out was when I took the kids to see some Ice Castles. This meant 3 hours in 20 degree weather. I was warm up until about the last half hour... and I had 3-4 layers on my whole body. So I think overall, the jacket did fairly well.

Lovely color, great fit
I bought this jacket to go skiing next week. I got the red one...love the color! I bought a large so that I can layer comfortably. It fits more like a medium in the arms and waist length. However, there seems to be a good amount of room for layering. It’s comfortable and light weight. I’ll definitely be able to wear it outside of skiing too!

Love this coat!
I really love first how well this coat fits, it’s comfortable and warm. The outer layer has been perfect for our confused season of snow, then rain then freezing rain then snow again. The zipper and hood are a great feature to block out the wind tunnels whether I’m walking along the beach or thru a wind tunnel in town. Wish i had gotten another one before they sold out. The red is a nice soft red not really a pink but not an over the top bright red either. Overall I just really love this coat

I love this jacket though I think it doesn't really keep warm especially when the the temperature fell below zero. Was the perfect coat for my daughter for skiing as well as the wind and cold they’ve been experiencing in her area this winter. And the color is great! Runs Small
This jacket runs slightly small (I’m 5’ 7” and 110lbs with a small frame) but it is way warmer than my Titanium ECO jacket from Columbia. Since I am tall, the sleeves show my wrists a bit and i can wear this with short sleeves and long sleeves, but NO THICK layers or it will be too tight. It runs small on the arms but not so much in the waist.

I have owned one like this for a couple years so when my girlfriend showed up at my door this winter in a winter jacket not made for this Wisconsin weather I had to get her one of these. She loves it and tells me that every day. I purchased her a pair of gloves with the same lining and she also loves them says there warm. Perfect for snow
The jacket kept me warm in 30 degrees and snow. I've worn a packable down jacket with a waterproof shell and the omni heat material/technology made the difference in keeping me warm. I ordered it bigger because I don't like to feel stuffed in a jacket. A large would have worked out find, but I doubt I could have worn a sweater with it.

Great Jacket!!
I’ve been obsessed with Omni Heat Jackets since 2010/2011. Before I just had the down omni heat jackets, so I upgraded to this one. I am not disappointed!! It’s so cozy and warm! I felt like I was in Maui even though it was 20°F outside!
Theres a zipper and velcrow cover so no water speeps through the zipper (I’ve had that problem with a lot of jackets).
The thumb holes are also nice and cozy for your palms!
I also was worried that the teal/blue color would be too much, but it looks fine!
I’m very happy with my purchase.

Best winter coat I've ever owned
Let me start by saying, I absolutely hate winter. I hate being cold and I hate wearing bulky clothes to stay warm. We recently moved to Iowa where winters are cold! I needed a coat that kept me WARM. I first bought this coat for my teenage daughter and within a week ended up buying one for myself. I have worn this coat now for 2 1/2 months- including this most recent sub- zero weather. I purchased this coat and did not get any "deal" for writing a review. This is my contriubtion since I rely on reviews before I buy things! I much prefer reading reviews from others who have actually used the product for more than one week! So - here it goes - 2+ winter months of wearing the coat daily!
Deconstruction of the coat:
Outer - Love the material that is on the very outside of the coat. I have been in snow and rain and the water beads and falls off! I was never wet, nor was I wearing a soaked coat! It felt like magic! The bottom of the coat is adjustable to fit around your waist, as are the arm holes with velcro, and the hood as well. All to fit you perfectly. After I adjusted everything it feels like Columbia made it for me!
Inner- omni-tech- I hope the person who invented this is rolling in a pile of money. The secret here is to not layer on your clothes. What am I saying? Don't wear a shirt and sweatshirt with this coat. Just wear one layer. Your body heat insulates this coat and I am not lying when I say I have never felt cold in this coat. I actually did feel a bit too warm after playing a tennis match and throwing the coat on to run to my car. I only had on a tank top and I was warm. The coat felt like there was a heating element inside! Which, was me! I have felt warmer the less layers I have on. Also, I hate feeling like I look like the Michelin Man, and this coat worn with a single layer underneath is not bulky. Do not order up on a size. I think the point is for it to be form fitting. That is the secret sauce of the omni heat.
Hood- I hate hoods and up until this point I honestly never thought they did any good. This hood is shaped differently and actually keeps your head warm and then hangs over your head almost like a visor and kept rain out of my face!
Thumbholes- this is probably my most favorite part. Columbia snuck these super stretchy and comfy thumbholes inside the sleeves. It is a separate material and when you aren't using them, you don't feel them or even know they are there. I use them about 50% of the time.
Closure- there is a zipper plus amazing velcro closures down the front. I can't believe I am still writing how great this coat is - but as you can tell, I love everything about it! You can zip or velcro or both.
Pockets- There are so many pockets- all with zippers! One on each side of the coat, on small one on the left forearm, one of the outside of the left chest, and one on the inside of the left chest. I haven't even used all the pockets!
Needless to say, I love this coat. I don't want to love a coat because I hate winter, but this coat has made the cold bearable. I have recommended this coat to many friends and I get compliments on it everywhere I go. I have the blue with pink insides, my daughter has the black with black. Both are nice. I just wanted a coat that was not black since everyone at work wears a black coat and I wanted to find mine on the coat rack!

This is a great jacket. My second columbia jacket, and my favorite! Like the reviews have mentioned, I would recommend one size up. I'm 5'4 about 110 and usually wear s/m, but bought a large. The large actually looks small, though you have enough room for underlayers.
I love the features,-draw strings to tighten jacket around waist, thumbs holes to keep wrist warm, all the pockets.
Oh, don't get me started.. the Omi-Heat is key. It will definatley keep you warm, no doubt on that. Don't think this jacket is just for skiing, It makes a great every day to day jacket.
Highly recommend this jacket, columbia is my go to.
Any further questions or comments, don't hesitate (:
P.S. (don't let the sweepstakes entry fool you. Thus is a real review).

Surprisingly Light Yet SO Warm!
Keeps me quite warm and is so light. I was actually quite surprised when I received it in the mail!
I bought it for skiing but wear around the DMV (DC, MD, VA) all the time when temps can go in the single digits and winds up to 30 mph. This coat keeps me nice and toasty.
So many pockets! Love the one on the upper left especially, makes it easy to retrieve anything in a hurry!
Well worth the buy!

Great winter activity jacket
Bought this for my wife after getting one for myself.
It's totally waterproof and the omni-heat lining provides the warmth needed for active winter use.
The jacket is very well made with many useful features like a hidden inside zip pocket and the elastic cuffs that seal your wrist. One thing that makes it a joy to wear is the soft inside lining of the collar. This makes zipping all the way up a very pleasant rather than rubbing experience. It has become my go to jacket.
