Rated 1 out of 5 by WFin from Poorly made, poor design Worse pants I ever bought. Extremely uncomfortable and very stiff. I am very disappointed with these.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Lyrical from Women's Aruba Pants Good, but not excellent workmanship (poorly finished at the end of a seam). Good, fast-drying material. The fit is good for women of my age - 61. But let's be honest, the fact that a 140 pound woman can fit into a size small is a bit dishonest. I realize this is an industry-wide trend. I want to commend the Customer Service department who responded to my email asking general questions about Columbia pants. The Representative was thorough, fast and considerate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by hon808 from Nice fit, nice construction I found this pants, true to size; unlike other reviewers who found it smaller than what they usually experienced. It's lightweight which means it takes up less space. The legs are easy to zip and un-zip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Shellie13 from Perfect Pants! I absolutely LOVE these pants! They are perfect for fishing or any time wear. I usually wear a 10-12 and I ordered the size medium. They are a little snug at first, but they stretch out a little as you have them on and they feel great! Very lightweight, yet durable for the hot Texas summer! I will be ordering the other color as well!

Rated 5 out of 5 by LuckyG from Convertable Pants These pants are going to be great. The quality is very high. The fit is a little large but comfortable. The length is a little long but I will be able to shorten then before we go to the Islands. The price was right and I expect to get a lot of use out of them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MrsB from Very durable The material is thin - which is what I wanted - but I was worried about whether or not they would hold up to a rugged mountain climb. They endured very well, and were extremely comfortable. Lots of pockets is also a good thing. I like them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by OCSami from Women aruba V convertible pants love these convertible pants, fit very nice, I normally wear petite, Petite was not available, ordered small it is fine except for length, I'm 5' 1", one hem length too long. Will take on my trip to China since they are light weight.

Rated 3 out of 5 by PonteVedraGal from The Medium is closer to a size 12 The design and fabric are great. The only problem is that the Medium is really closer to a size 12...it is very big for a plump size 10!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kackyn4 from Must-have pant for adventure travel I'm sorry I delayed so long in acquiring some of these pants. For trips to Africa, Australia, or the Amazon they should be a requirement! They are lightweight, quick-drying and easy to pack. The only downside is that I am 5'4" and had to hem them about 3". The convertible feature will be nice, but I would have been perfectly happy with a pant of this fabric and comfort.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Suzzie from Suzzie These pants run extremely large, they were even too big for my husband who wears a mens size 34! I typically wear a med/large however, will need to exchange them for a small- and hope that fits. I can't speak to the quality or function because I was unable to wear them.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Shea1114 from A qualified 'yes' These pants are very lightweight. They would be very comfortable IF... I ordered the large based on the fit guide. I was at the lower end, but I was hesitant to order the medium because it didn't seem to cover my measurements (my hips were at the lower end of the large), and since I wear a 12 I thought it was a good bet. I had tried on a large in a different style (shorts) and also a 12 (capris), and both fit me perfectly. I thought I was on solid ground. The large was too big. it gapped out a lot around the waistline and also seemed large around the hip area, but I think the medium would have been too tight. The waistline was barely elastic, and I mean very very slightly on each side. I might have still considered them, but they were also much too long on me. I would have needed to bring them to a tailor. My legs are a little bit shorter than average, but generally I can get away with regular inseam being slightly long. These were dragging. The price was great, but I had to send them back (I could not find them locally). That's when "sticker shock" set in. I live in Florida. It cost me nearly $10 to send them back via the USPS. UPS would have been a lot more. So my advice would be to follow the fit guide and be aware that if you fall around in the middle of the measurements, and you generally have no problem with length, this could be a good pair of inexpensive hiking pants for you. If you are at the lower end or the higher end, it gets a little more into a "gray area." And also be aware that, if you order online, it could be pricey shipping the pants back to Oregon. I had to pick a "yes" or "no" on recommendation. In reality it is a "Yes...with reservations."

Rated 3 out of 5 by peaker from Good Quality I bought these pants after looking for a second pair of Columbia pants (209 TL8273) that I purchased 2 yrs ago. Of course, those pants that I loved are no longer available!!! These fit in the seat but too long even tho XS. Zip off legs don't work because pants are tapered and don't have lower leg zippers or tabs. boots/shoes must be removed to get legs off!!! Not a good design. Material is good quality and great pockets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by alohadi from Great pants My husband got a pair of men's Aruba convertible pants at a local store but they did not carry women's convertibles. Sent for both a Med and Lge as the size chart did not have my exact size. I am a Med on the large side, and the Mediums fit perfectly. I am taking them on a trip to Italy and having two pairs of pants, long and shorts all in one, saves a lot of room in the suitcase. They are big enough around the thighs so they do not bind or get "stuck" on the thigh when using them as shorts. Only problem, they are a bit long for my 30" legs. Otherwise, great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by mamamindy from These pants work for any outdoor situation! I have to stay out of the sun so these pants help me get out there and make memories with my kids. They are UPF rated but are so light weight and comfortable that I don't sweat to death. If I feel like jumping in water ...I just unzip the pant leg and dive in. I wear them to amusement parks, camping trips, everywhere! LOVE THESE PANTS...totally worth the $50.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Breezey from Can't find any that fit Why must you use s/m/l for pants? I tried these in med, the booty was too snug ( yes I have curves, imagine that, a woman with curves). I tried these in large, they were far too large. Also, only one length available? I guess if you have the build of a boy they will fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Tessa2013 from Awesome Pants! As a female, it has been hard to find long, breathable pants to go hiking in. My husband has these pants (in men's) and ordered them for me because he likes them so much. They are light-weight, breathable, and cover my whole leg. I am 5'3 and if I was a bit taller, the length would be too short.

Rated 5 out of 5 by BrenV from Very comfortable and versatile! I just received these pants, and wore them as shorts to hike in a couple of days ago. They were very comfortable, and were cool on a hot summer day. I like the cargo pockets. I think I will get a lot of wear out of them for hiking and traveling. Would definitely recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Lisa51 from Great look and fit and choice of colors Found these pants on the Columbia site. Read the reviews, took the chance that they might be what I am looking for my trip to Vt. Glad I made the purchase because they are comfortable, look nice on, and the sage and fossil colors look great with most anything. I am 5ft 1/2", so I did have to hem them, the story of my life, though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by AMA66 from Pants are perfect I bought these pants for working outdoors in the elements and they have been great. Dry fast, do not stick to my skin in the heat and feel weightless on. Theynrun a little big so a small tuck at the waist has helped a lot. Love the pockets down the legs for hands free items. I would purchase another pair.

Rated 4 out of 5 by KDP28 from Very relaxed I tried a different pair of Columbia pants for hiking, but the legs were super tight. These are definitely relaxed. I ordered a medium, as I usually wear an 8. The waist is big, but with a belt its fine. The legs are cut a little big for my taste, but should be comfortable hiking in. The quality is very good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by suam from Careful re/ your size and expensive return shipping Just want to say how disappointed I was. I carefully measured and followed size guide, received my pants and they practically fell off. It cost $12.25 to return. I'll certainly think twice before ordering again as much as I' have enjoyed previous products.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Barbara128 from Great pants! I am going to Africa in 30 days and these pants will be the 'staple ' of my wardrobe and perfect for the many safari drives I' 'm going on. I purchased one pair in the store and loved them so much, I went back to get a second pair; however, they were sold out so ordered the second pair online and may order a third! I have the sage and fossil. I love the cool gray! These pants are comfortable, lightweight (easy to rinse out and dry quickly), nice-looking, and afforable

Rated 5 out of 5 by BillEBob from Aruba V These trousers are excellent. I bought them for my wife who lives in southern China. The weather can be very wet one minute and very hot and humid the next. Being able to switch back and for the between shorts and trousers work very well in this climate. In addition, the workmanship and quality of this item are quite good. I highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Teach12 from Yes, you should.... Another great product! Love these pants, the mateiral is durable and breathable. Quailty construction and a design that ensures full range of motion. Great for land or water adventures. I'm vertically challenged, so they are a little long. However, the material is easy to hem.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Gumps from Great cargo-style pants These pants are comfortable and useful. They fit well, look good, and accomplish what I need them to do (which is to hold many items in the pockets, stay cool in hot weather, dry quickly when I get wet, and still look good). I'm impressed with these pants.

Rated 4 out of 5 by JK07 from Not the best for curvy girls I'm a size 18 hips with a size 14 waist. On our drive to the campsite, I stitched a piece of elastic in the back of the waistband to tighten them up and take in about 4 inches, otherwise I had a serious gap in which both fists would fit. These do come with some elastic, but it's minimal and barely bunches the fabric. Other than that, the pants are great. We got caught in a downpour and my soaked pants dried in less than 15 mins. They are lightweight, good for layering over warmer pants, and do not hinder movement as you climb and stretch. Just wish they understood that curvy girls do exist.

Rated 4 out of 5 by PatriciaAnnC from Size variations I read others' reviews of this product before purchasing. Due to the size variations, I purchased one pair in size M and one pair in size L. I found the M to be very snug and the L to be very large - so much so that I have to take them to be altered. I don't feel that there should be such a difference between sizes. I am pleased, however, that I was able to purchase them on line because most outdoor sporting stores in my area do not carry them. Columbia has always been my favorite brand.

Rated 4 out of 5 by TrotTrot from Covnertible pants/shorts The most I have ever paid for shorts. However when you consider. Going on a trip where it's warmer than home. Will wear the pants on the plane, and when we arrice can unzip in the restroom & be in a nice cool paid of shorts. Also like the two extra pockets. One a zipper closure the other a snap closure. Will keep items in the pockets rather than my purse. I ordered 2 pair as I wasn't sure which size.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Bilbo from I have not yet used this item since it was purchased for an event yet to happen I was truly disappointed in the sizing. I tried to find these hiking pants in local stores so that I could try them on. No luck. I tried on other Columbia pants so as to have a size indicator. Then I ordered a size large because all the 10's I tried on were too small. Whoa!! when they arrived they were way too big so I had to have them altered at an additional $15. Hemming was part of that---again nothing on line came in a shorter length. There was no time to return the pants since I purchased them for a trip. After the huge amount of money I spent, I hope that they serve me well as I hike in the Four Corners area of the American Southwest.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Rai1 from Finally a hiking pant for a woman with curves. I've had issues finding pants that fit me. I'm right on the cusp of sizes. These pants fit well in the waist, but are a little baggier in the legs than I wanted, but other than that, they are very functional, light weight and good quality. I do recommend them

Rated 5 out of 5 by cmoney from good on-the-water pants I bought 2 pair for working on boats in the summer sun. They are very lightweight if you chose them for sun protection (like me). If its just too hot, they are convertible to a nice bermuda length short. One cargo pocket zippers and the other has a button. They are win.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Papillon from Great hot weather hiking pants. I hiked in these pants in 105 degree temps on Comb Ridge in southeast Utah and was comfortable. I'd planned to unzip the legs but decided against doing so to protect my knees from sun reflected back from the slick rock. My waist is small in proportion to my hips, so I added small darts to each side in front and was able to do without a belt. The fabric is tough and survived several episodes of negotiating rock slides on the seat of my pants unscathed. I like the pants so well I bought a second pair.

Rated 3 out of 5 by adventurer60 from Fit was not too good I like the Columbia convertibles.....I have serveral....However, this latest purchase doesn't fit at the top (these are just below waist pants). I thought with the elastic band on either side the fit wouldn't be an issue, however that isn't the case. One of the issues with buying online...can't try on prior to purchasing. Fit through the hips/legs and length is good.
