Rated 5 out of 5 by Smokeycat from Warm I have worn in quite a few times in subzero weather. It keeps me warm and provides complete coverage.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ChristinaMN from Great Jacket! Very cute and warm! I live in Northern Minnesota and it definitely does the job of keeping me warm. I appreciate that it runs a bit on the large side, making it easy to wear bulky sweaters or sweatshirts underneath comfortably. My only complaint is that the zipper is a little tricky to get to work (but that was just me, my husband got it to work on his first try helping me). I’m 5’10” and the arm length and body length are just right! Great overall jacket!

Rated 4 out of 5 by ecologist from Military styling, more flattering than photo I ordered 4 synthetic insulated Columbia coats to try, the Carson's Pass, the Breitenbush, the Hawk's Prairie, and the Boundary Bay, and kept the Boundary Bay. The only coat I ordered that I wouldn't recommend is the Breitenbush, because it lacked cuffs in the sleeves to block the wind, wasn't waterproof, and also had a scratchy neckline. All the others were good warm coats with nice practical features (thick sleeve cuffs, soft hand pockets, soft against your neck, waterproof, a fair amount of insulation, cut for mobility/arm movement, long enough length for warmth), but had different style elements. In order of most form fitting/short sleeves and shorter torso length to looser fitting/ longer sleeves and length they were : Carson's Pass, Hawks Prairie, Boundary Bay. So Carson Pass would be nice for a shorter women who wants a form fitting coat. I'm 5'9" and preferred the longer sleeve length of the hawks prairie (med. long sleeves) and boundary bay (even longer sleeves). The hawk's prairie had a dropped back tail that I wasn't sure remain in style over the long term, whereas the boundary bay reminded me of my Dad's military field coat which is a timeless style I've always loved to wear. The nostalgia of that made me keep the boundary bay, e.g, it has a feminine style that isn't bulky, but still has the comfort, function, and durability of the coat you borrow from a man who cares about you. I was also instantly complemented on the boundary bay coat the first night I wore it out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Oche from I love my coat This coat has lots of pockets. Looks great on. Is super warm in the cold and is light weight. I wish it was even longer like below the knee. It is a great buy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by tinyClimber from Great fit, very long arms I've never had a problem with the arm length of jackets and coats until now. The jacket fits great, it's beautiful, I want to keep it, but I look like a kid in an adults clothing with how long the arms are. They're at least 6 inches beyond the tip of my fingers! I don't know if this is an issue with others, but I would caution that the arms run a bit long. I'm disappointed that I have to return this jacket.

Rated 4 out of 5 by cmey228 from pictures not really good representation, but I love this coat! Those who are more familiar with Columbia's different fabrics and technologies probably wouldn't be surprised like I was, but the shell of this coat is clothlike, which is not apparent in pictures. I thought it would be a harder, more plastic-like shell (this was a pleasant surprise!) Also, like other reviewers have said, the color 'rich wine' is really subtle and more neutral in person-- not as bright red as depicted. This was also a good thing for me. I've read reviewers say the zipper was a problem, and I can see why it might be, but mine is working fine enough for me. Lastly, the size small feels true to size-- perhaps a little larger in the torso and narrower through the arms, but my arms are sort of big. I'm glad I didn't size up or down. Overall very excited about this coat!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by GabiM from Great jacket! I really love this jacket! It is not only warm, it is more stylish than other cold weather jackets that tend to look frumpy. I went for the red one which is a deeper wine color than Pictured online (which was a good surprise). The length is really nice, I am 5’6’’ and it hits me mid thigh. This jacket does very well in rain as water just beads up and rolls right off. Overall I am very happy with my purchase, and just marked that it runs a little big because the sleeves are abit on the longer size.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Aynick from Heavier than expectation It's heavier than expectation and no drawstring around waist ,so one looks like a potato if in L or XL size ,I returned the product immediately, and paying to return it was another disappointment

Rated 1 out of 5 by Soldead from Bad Zipper I'm very frustrated with the zipper on this jacket and will be returning it. I've had other Columbia jackets and never had this problem.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Pema from Huge The jacket at first glance looked really nice. And the description mentioned the exact functions i wanted on a winter jacket. But well it was just too good to be true. I was very disappointed when I saw the real thing. It was too big for a size XS. And I always buy XS jackets for winter. This was the first time buying anything from Columbia and it will be the last.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Westerner from Great Coat! It is nice to see a company offering good jackets in plus sizes. This coat is nice and long with a two way zipper which is great when sitting in a vehicle. The coat is very warm and the fabric is attractive. I am very happy with my purchase. Rated 2 out of 5 by Kate779 from Great Jacket, Bad Zipper I was super excited about this jacket. It’s very warm and great material. The zipper is something I cannot deal with. Every time I went to put it on it took me 3 minutes to get the zipper to zip up. I realize it’s a double zipper and I’ve never had problems with them before, but even when everything is lined up, I cannot pull the zipper up. I’m going to be exchanging for something different. Really wish the zipper wouldn’t have been a deal breaker.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Houseshy from Loooooove it! I live in Green Bay, Wisconsin and the winters here and the few months leading up to it can be cold and this jacket was so amazing. It not only looks nice but it keeps me soooo warm, definitely worth the money!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Conselyea from Warm Jacket For many winters, I've chosen to look stylish rather than to keep warm. So I've always chosen to wear top coats rather than an actual jacket in cold weather. This jacket feels like walking around in a sleeping bag, it's comfortable and so warm without making you feel weighed down. Like another reviewer has mentioned, yes it does run a little large. But keep in mind you need to bulk up in the winter, in NY it can get as low as 17 degrees, and for me personally, I need the extra room to wear thick sweaters, vests, and a scarf. So I don't mind looking a little bulky for that reason. The long sleeves will also do great in blocking the wind from my hands, which is nice since my hands are always dry and cracking in the winter due to wind exposure. All in all, this coat is great for the brutally cold winter, but if you're looking to be a fashion statement, this coat isn't for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Patsario49 from Very warm and waterproof I have many coats and jackets from Columbia, but I did not have a rain coat. I live in Central California so we have not had a lot of rain because of the drought, but I want to be ready when it comes. It also can get very nippy here and I hate to be cold so that is why I chose this jacket. For me, it is very insulated, I will definitely not be cold in this. As I mentioned, it has not rained yet, so I tested the jacket for waterproof by dropping water on the sleeve.....water just ran off the sleeve. I also wanted a jacket that looks nice and I feel this jacket does just that. I am 5'3" and weigh 149 and I had ordered a large, but it was to big for me, so had to return it and ordered a medium. The medium size fits much better with still plenty of room for something thick underneath, although that would not be needed with this jacket in California. This jacket looks like it will last forever, very well made and happy I finally found what I was looking for, a very warm jacket and rain coat. Thank you Columbia.

Rated 2 out of 5 by cjc3 from runs so big that I am returning it For years, Columbia was the only brand that I consistently wore an XS and it would fit perfectly every time. Not anymore. This jacket is MASSIVE. The sleeves go down past my hands. The arms are huge and wide. The body is also wide. I thought maybe I could just wear a thick sweater under and it would be fine, but it's still too bulky. definitely returning it

Rated 5 out of 5 by YveB from Perfect! Even if you're tall!!! I am so pleased with this coat! It's stylish and function. It runs true to size ( I used the size chart to pick my size, XL). I'm tall and larger chested so this has plenty of room to wear a sweater underneath if you want, the sleeves are long enough and stay down at my wrist even with full shoulder movement and it hits mid-thigh. If you're on the fence I highly recommended this coat!!!
