Women's Dusk2Dawn™ Jacket is rated out of 5 by 66.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Sosaac from Great for travelling First, I really enjoy this jacket. That being said: Bad news first -- The main zipper was a pain to break in, it took forever and lots of muscle to zip it up. Wish there was more choice in color since I often am walking/biking at night. Good news -- Water resistance and breathability of fabric is dependable. The inner pocket over the left breast is for headphone cord + handheld device--it's great and ends up having all kinds of convenient uses (ID's, keys). I am glad I got medium, because the tailored fit made me worry I still got a size too small. Then I wore it over a double breasted wool coat I own, and as a joke I wore the Dusk2Dawn jacket over it. This jacket has a great sort of stretch to it and still looked good over my heavier winter coat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 2animals from my new rain jacket Great & great looking rain coat. I particularly like the longer length. I look forward to experiencing the reflective material & its warmth. It is certainly interesting looking when you see the inside. I see people notice it. Zipper is v. impressive. And the price is the icing on the cake..

Rated 1 out of 5 by agoodday from Fabric is pilling I purchased this jacket about a month ago in the gray color. It is very cute style, does run a bit small and initially I couldn't have been happier with the jacket. Great functionality. HOWEVER, the fabric began pilling, first where the seat belt fits across my lap and side and then other areas--I expected more as I have other Columbia coats that still look new even after years of outdoor activity. I plan to call and ask for an exchange if other colors/fabrics are holding up better.

Rated 4 out of 5 by LAnderson from Great jacket for sale price! This jacket does run small but the material is stretchy. It's like wearing a dress not a jacket. The zipper seems a little flimsy so I hope it holds up. You know that feeling when you sit on a leather couch? That's what it feels like putting the jacket on. It takes some getting used to. Takes a few minutes for it to warm up. I would not pay retail price for this jacket. Overall I am happy with my purchase and enjoy the jacket, it’s cute.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Luisa from great coat, color is a bit dull I ordered this coat in the black plaid and it arrived in the grey. I later learned that there was a coding mix-up and that the black plaid was no longer available but the gray was. The rep that I contacted was very helpful so no real problems there. The arms are crazy long..... that is a bit of a problem. The sizing is very small. Order up at least one size. The coat hangs very well and is very attractive in its cut. The features are great and I think it will serve me well for years to come.

Rated 3 out of 5 by oreas from Not a winter coat With its $250 price (one of the most expensive one) I thought it was a very good winter jacket but it is not. It can be worn in 3 season, to be honest it is not logical to wear it in weather conditions under 0 Celsius. I believe it is a perfect fall or spring jacket though. I need to say that, I have the black plaid but it is not black, it is truly grey. I liked the color i didn't send it back but it is not black.

Rated 1 out of 5 by JamesDatCA from Incorrect color and style I purchased this jacket for my wife to surprise her as I haven't been able to get her anything for her birthday and Christmas. I paid for the fastest shipping, sadly, the jacket we received is not black, also the plaid part is no where to found on the jacket. Horribly disappointed at Columbia's ordering system.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Johanna2014 from For now great jacket I bought this coat to a trip so I have not use it yet in winter time. I usually wear a size 6 and bought the medium. It seems to fit fine except the sleeves are a little long. It's a very light weight. The black one is not really black but dark grey anyway is a beautiful color. Let me try the coat on vacations and I will let you know..... I will be back.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Angel from Absolutely wonderful product... until the zipper broke I absolutely loved this coat. I have it in the grape color from last season. I love the length, the fit and that it is extremely waterproof. It is perfect for walking the dog in the Portland downpours. The hood is quite large so it covers more of my head than any raincoat I've ever had and the cinch mechanism around the hood works well. I also love the fact the omni heat lining; it keeps me warm, even in the winter rain. The overall quality of the material is very high (except for the zipper). It was literally my favorite item of clothing ever purchased from Columbia, and my favorite jacket... that is until recently when the zipper broke at the bottom. The metal piece came off of the teeth at the bottom. Now the coat is essentially useless. For such a high-priced item and at only about a year's worth of use, I would have expected it to last a lot longer. I think it's because the waterproof zipper, while nice because it doesn't let any water through, is so much less flexible than a normal zipper that it couldn't take the wear and tear of use. I am really very upset about it breaking because it is now just an expensive waterproof hooded cape. I am going to see if I can perhaps get the zipper replaced under warranty, but we'll see. They might consider that 'normal wear and tear'. However, I've never had a zipper break on a coat that wasn't at least many many years old. I am torn about the rating... I would have given it 5 stars without the zipper issue. If you don't wear the coat much then I'm guessing it would last a while, but if you love it as much as I did, it's not worth the purchase just to have it last only one year.

Rated 2 out of 5 by valentine from too cold for winter I was expecting a nice winter jacket to use in boston, but this product is a great jacket for spring and autumn. I tried it at 25degrees and I was super cold. It is a pretty model but not for boston winter. I send it back.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MelanieInPDX from Form and function I love this coat so very much. The texture of the material is soft, you would not guess it is waterproof, but it absolutely is. I'm not sure that the Omni-Heat adds much warmth, but I got the coat in a size roomy enough to add a layer of warmth. I am 5'3", 125lbs, 34B and a small is perfect. Looks good alone or with a long-sleeve shirt and fleece underneath. Very flattering cut. Quality seems exceptional, I could see wearing this jacket for many years.

Rated 4 out of 5 by judypal from Great for Tall Girls too! I'm 6'1" and 155 lbs (size8-10, broad shoulders) with very long arms and the sleeve length is amazing! Even a bit long but would never say its a problem. Those girls with shorter arms can always take it up a bit. I ordered a Large (I am generally a Medium elsewhere but at Columbia I am a Large in tops) and the fit is perfect although on the slimmer side. The coat is cut beautifully with a slight 'A' line and very flattering. The fabric isn't 'noisy' when you walk and doesn't look waterproof but it is. I have tested it in torrential rain!!! My ONLY complaint is that the plaid fabric should have been cut to match up the plaid pattern at least on the front of the coat. I have been a sewer for years and that small extra attention to detail would have been justified at the $250 retail price on this item. Would LOVE to see this same exact coat in some classic solid colours like, BROWN, TAN, NAVY, KHAKI, etc. Thank you Columbia for this great coat!! Would also LOVE to see more TALL lengths in active rain/ski pants ---34" or even 36" inseams!! THANKS!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ann48 from Excellent choice! This jacket was an exchange for my first coat with a faulty zipper. This one however is perfect…zipper works great. I love the fitted style and long sleeves (as I'm 5'11"). Excellent choice if you want a versatile coat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by jkatajisto from Wheather proof, warm but not hot, and very flattering Overall I'm so very pleased with this purchase. I'm 5' 8" and about 140 lb and size M fits very nicely. It leaves room for layering, and the waist is quite loose, but still the cut is so nice that it looks very flattering (normally size M in Columbia is way too big for me from the waist, but otherwise almost short...). The length of the sleeves is perfect for actually moving(!): lifting your kid and biking... So far it has proven to be water resistant, and also very easy to clean from sand and dust. Material feels good, and yes, the zip is super tight, but many water proof zips are, and it has been functioning well (I like that it works both ends). I haven't been using the jacket during real winter time, but for cold spring winds it's perfect and it feels quite same whether it is cold or warm outside so it also breaths well. Btw, I ordered color Collegiate Navy and it was exactly as pictured, light blue-gray background with navy plaid.I'm giving 4/5 cause the zip could be easier and the waist line could be little bit mote tight, but I'm rarely as happy about my purchases that I'm with this.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Lynnebee from Dusk2Dawn I don't know why they call this coat navy because it's a purple coat, no navy at all. I usually wear a size 6 and bought the medium. It seems to fit fine except the sleeves are very long. It's a very warm coat but very light weight. I would recommend this coat to anyone.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JEngel from Fashionable Simple Rain jacket A simple jacket for chilly days, It has some type of thermal heat trapping layer inside, but it isn't too bulky or removable. The jacket is thin and stiff material, not too cuddly, but good for getting through the windy day! Wish they sold a fashionable matching cap!

Rated 5 out of 5 by greenT from no bulk jacket with great long sleeves perfect for a day of going inside and outside. keeps me warm in Michigan winter down to the 20s but not warm enough to walk the dog in 10 degree weather. I've worn it to the movies and was warm enough to walk into the theater at 18 degrees, yet cool enough to keep it on during the movie (loosened sleeves and unzipped). I guess that means it breathes well. I keep a silk scarf with it to wrap my neck under the jacket. I also like layering it with a hoodie and having a double hood over my head. The hood snorkels a bit when zipped all the way (a feature I will appreciate in the rain). When zipped just to the neck the hood is a bit large and droops over my eyes. It's too fussy to push it back only to have it fall forward again so I often wear the hood like a giant turtle neck. I may try folding it under like the sleeves. The sleeves are indeed long. They cover the palms of my hands. If I want them shorter I roll them under (not over like cuffs) or push them up. Most of the time I like them covering my hands. I bought size XL. My clothing size is 18. Fits fine. It is form fitting not baggy. I zip up from the bottom when I drive to keep it from tugging. I expect it to be more layer-able as I continue to lose weight.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ubermeme from Excellent travel coat I find this coat to be an excellent choice when I travel for business. It is smart enough to be acceptable for use as an overcoat, and I used it for my jacket when wearing casual clothing for weekend or evening outings. The reflective coating kept me warm for winter travel, and it was very packable because it's not a bulky coat. It is waterproof (important to someone who lives in Seattle!) The arms are very long (a feature I like) and it is slim fitting, so not forgiving or as adaptable as a trench coat, but the high tech features of warmth and waterproof win my vote of approval!

Rated 5 out of 5 by NoodleHead from Does run true to size. After reading the reviews stating that the jacket ran a little small, I ordered a large. I am usually a medium, so I thought the large would fit well. However, the large was way too big. I had to send it back. The sleeves are long, but I like that because most sleeves are short on me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by J218 from Love this jacket - Love this jacket. It's the best fabric and length. Perfect for our Seattle weather! Only reason for the 4 stars is that is that I would've loved it in just plain black.... and it's seems a big tighter than my other Columbia jackets.. although it's stretchy fabric!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Lawgrrl from Warm, dry and a bit dressy in the Pacific Northwest I bought this jacket last month in the "black plaid" (which is really a light gray). I liked the "collegiate navy," which is a pale blue with navy windowpane plaid, but I couldn't get the zipper to work, even after trying on multiple different jackets. I rate it a "bit" small in the shoulders. I normally wear a 6 or small in Columbia Sportswear, but purchased a medium for this jacket. I LOVE the long sleeves! I'm 5'9" and often sleeves are too short. Also, even if you're not as tall as I am, the extra length allows you to snap the cuff OVER your gloves or mitts, and keep your wrists dry and warm. I also like the slightly longer car coat-style length, as it looks a bit dressier. If there were a way to adjust the back of the hood to make it a bit smaller, it would be perfect. I'm very happy--even my husband thinks it's cute!

Rated 5 out of 5 by coataholic from cold girl all the time! Living in Oregon we get a lot of rainy, cold days. I just bought this coat this winter and LOVE it!! It is perfect because you can layer it with sweaters and still look stylish. If is figure faltering either way. I normally would buy a small, but after reading the other reviews I stepped up and size and it is great! You want to have room for layering.

Rated 4 out of 5 by ddj702 from Good, not excellent This item has pros and cons about it. Pros: Good quality, love the new omni heat and omni shield; fits true to size EXCEPT for the super long sleeve length; the definite con. Some have said their zipper sticks, mine did not. Overall, a nice rain coat too keep you warm.

Rated 4 out of 5 by USMCBuckeye from Awesome Jacket except for the zipper. I purchased this jacket for my wife. We live in Ohio, so on any day it could rain/sleet/hail etc. She says it is very comfortable, waterproof and light weight, but still very warm even when it's below freezing and wet (She is one of those people who cannot stand being cold). She is tall and thin (she's 6'0" - 130#), but she finally has a jacket with arms long enough (even on a medium)! The only downside is that she seems to have a lot of trouble getting the zipper started. I try to help, but making "suggestions" when someone is struggling with a zipper is not always well received.

Rated 5 out of 5 by lr42 from Perfect for travel! I purchased this jacket to wear on a trip to London. It was stylish, yet practical. The hood and length of jacket kept me dry while walking in rainy weather. Zip pockets are great for keeping contents safe. Main zipper would stick occasionally, but I did not consider it an inconvenience. The media pocket worked well to store passport and wallet. Reflective lining allowed for some warmth without too much bulk. I wear size Small shirts, but ordered a Medium jacket so I could wear layers/sweaters underneath. The fabric didn't show wrinkles after being pulled out of a carry-on bag. This jacket is perfect for traveling!

Rated 5 out of 5 by AnneM from The perfect coat I love this jacket for its weatherproof exterior, warm Omni-heat lining, zippered pockets, 3/4 length and style. It has everything you need in a cute winter coat - including a hood! While the color as advertised is navy, the coat I received after ordering online is closer to a twilight purple. It's not navy. A friend of mine has this coat in navy and the two coats are entirely different colors. I'm happy with the shade - just noting it in case color variation is a deal breaker. I normally wear a 4-6 jacket or shirt which I think would be a small - but this coat is somewhat fitted so a medium was the right size.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Kim7PDX from Nicely tailored coat The fabric is a little stiff but should soften up with wear. The Eclipse Blue Plaid looks more purple than blue to me but it is a nice change from all my other black coats.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LadyPDX from Functional & Stylish, Great Cut I am 5'3" and 120 lbs. The Medium fit me perfectly and has enough room for me to wear a winter sweater comfortably under the jacket. The jacket is functional for the cold and wet Pacific Northwest winter yet stylish at the same time. The Eclipse Blue Plaid is closer to purple than blue in my opinion but it fit so well that I decided the jacket was keeper!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Alana from Nice coat, long sleeves, but way too tight in the hips I am 5'11" and the sleeves fit me perfectly. I didn't keep it because (1) it is way too tight in the hips/butt (real women have curves!) and (2) the zipper was impossible to zip.

Rated 4 out of 5 by jrs6116 from Fashion and Function This is a great jacket for it's looks and purpose. It's definitely waterproof and also offers a special built-in lining for insulation. My only suggestion to consider is regarding size. I'm typically a small but I bought a medium. The small was a bit too fitting and I couldn't wear a light sweater underneath. I think it's because it's tapered at the waist. Anyway, the medium allows a bit more room for versatility with clothes and works great. I'm 5' 5" 135lbs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by hikergrl78 from Great Jacket! I have this in grey. It fits pretty true to size. I'm 5'6", 130lbs and I bought the small. Rated 5 out of 5 by Mollie from Cute and Functional Great jacket. The flattering A-line style is perfect for casual or dress. The darker color make it look a bit more dressy. Rated 5 out of 5 by lomoma from Best raincoat ever. I love this coat. We live in Portland, and it seems like the other reviewers from Portland said the same. I never fail to get a compliment when I am wearing it- people always seem jealous that they don't have one. I don't think it runs small, infact, I tend to buy larger coats just to have more room, but I bought this in a medium which is probably my usual size, and it fits perfectly. (5'5" and 137#) I couldn't remember if the sleeves were too long, so I just went to go try it on. Yes, the sleeves are long- but I've had this coat for nearly a year, and I had to go verify that, so obviously it's not a problem. In fact, it keeps my hands dry and warm; absolutely not an issue. It is FITTED, but has great lines and is absolutely waterproof. I love it. It dresses up well. I've lived in the Midwest and suffered through many winters there- it is not warm enough for that, but it's perfect for Portland.

Rated 5 out of 5 by dogparkgirl3 from Love this jacket! I LOVE this jacket! it is stylish, yet practical. I love the fact that the sleeves are very long; I am 5'6.5" tall, and have had a difficult time finding coats with sleeves that are long enough. The only criticism I have is that this coat runs small. The waist area is somewhat fitted, and while I normally would get a large, ( which I initially ordered and had to return), I had to get an XL. the zipper is a little hard to pull up, but I think that is due to it being waterproof. This is not a heavy winter jacket; more of fall/spring raincoat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ambs from Wisconsin Commuter Bought this jacket for everyday use for my commute to and from work in Wisconsin. So far, it's been about 50 degrees outside and the jacket has kept me warm when I have a long sleeved shirt on underneath. The quality of materials is superb. My only grumbles are that the zipper can be a bit sticky (because it is lined with wet suit like material) and the sleeves could be a tad shorter. Overall, I love the functionality and the A-Line shape of this jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sepia from Ideal for Wet Weather I am extremely pleased with this coat. The deep adjustable hood and the length were big selling points for me. The fabric is lovely, and of course repels water as advertised. I wanted to clarify a few things from previous reviews for those who like to shop online (like I do). As mentioned already, this is an ideal coat for the Pacific Northwest, and I will get three seasons of wear out of it. It is functional enough for walking the dog in a downpour, and looks sharp enough to wear as a dress coat. I do not think it would be a good winter coat in a colder climate. The zipper is very stiff (as mentioned) but I remedied that with a little face powder on the catch (or parafin or whatever trick you prefer would work). It DOES zip from the bottom as well. It is true that the sleeves are long, but have snap adjustments so that they don't hang over your hands if you don't want them to. If you want a sleeve that ends at the wrist, you will likely not like this. Personally I prefer very long sleeves that go over the tops of my hands, so this was perfect for protecting my clothes. Finally, I was a bit concerned after reading reviews that I would not be able to wear it over a winter sweater. I ordered medium (I am 5'8", 135 lbs, and I am not very curvy), and it fits beautifully even over my heaviest sweater. That said, it is a fitted coat, and not designed to layer a bunch of fleeces or sweaters under (which I guess is what others were attempting to do), but it should fit fine over your regular clothing.

This coat is gorgeous and weather resistant. The black plaid is stylish and sophistocated and the omni heat keeps me warm and dry without the need of extra clothing. I like the fit, roomy enough but still slimming. and the longer length is perfect as a townie coat. I wouldnt mind another inner pocket. but the one I do have fits my iPod nicely.
