Great Jacket!I haven't worn the jacket yet because I bought at end of season, but it fits beautifully and feels like it will be very warm. Some of the nice details are lots of zippered pockets, sleeve zipper for lift ticket, spandex cuffs. The sleeves are nice and long, and I was looking for a jacket on the longer side. This jacket comes to the bottom of my butt to keep me warms sitting on the lift. It is 800 fill down and waterproof. I can't wait for ski season to try it out! Warm, Dry, Flexible and Comfortable!Love this coat - it is sure to be a lifelong favorite. It is like wearing a warm, waterproof quilt - very comfortable! The functions and uses described on the site are exactly right.
It fits a bit big, but this leaves room for whatever you're wearing underneath, and allows for lots of movement. I am 5'9" 150 pounds, slim build (small chest and waist, broad shoulders, long arms) and the medium fits perfectly.
I would definitely recommend this coat to anyone!
Also, the normal shipping took only 2 days which was a bonus :)

Great coat, blue and salmon not orange like I was expectingReally warm and light. Inside looks more like pink then orange. 2 small interior zip pocket, 1 large interior mesh pocket, 5 exterior zip pocket, 1 exterior wrist zip pocket. I have long arms, 190 pounds and tall. It is tough for me to find jackets with long enough arms and large fits perfectly. The only thing I would change is the inability to remove hood.

Warm and ToastyThis is a great jacket. Was up on the mountain for four hours straight and it kept me warm the entire time.
The sizing is a little wonky. I usually wear a size MED, but after reading some of the reviews I went ahead and ordered the small. I'm glad I did , it fits almost perfectly. I'm only able to layer one jacket under it, but I don't think that's going to be an issue in the future as I was nice and warm. The length was good and just covered my behind.

Great, Functional, Warm JacketThis jacket is awesome. It's light and very warm (19 here and windy this morning and I was fine). I am 5'8", 160 with a long torso, long arms and broad shoulders. The large fits me perfectly (I wear a Large in all Columbia jackets). It is not too long - the coat hits at my hips and does not restrict my movement. The sleeves are long enough and I can never find coats with long enough sleeves. The shoulders are roomy enough to move in, and I can easily wear a sweatshirt under it. The pockets are very functional - particularly the inner media pocket which just fits my iPhone 5. My only complaint is that when no using the hood, the neck is a little loose and wind goes down my neck. Add a neck like the Lay D down jackets and this coat would be perfect.

Toasty! Finally got cold enough in MA for me to test this jkt, and yes, I stayed warm, w/o having to wear 100 layers; it is also incredibly light in comparison to my interchange jkt. And oh, so many pockets! You can't tell from the pics, but there are "normal" slanted side pockets under/behind the vertical flap pockets. I bought the purple, and the color is lovely.
It does run a little big, and yes, it is long (covers the butt/hips) however, the two-way zipper means that you can unzip a little from the bottom when you are seated. As another reviewer stated, the zipper is a little stiff - I'm hoping it works itself out over time.
Pros: Warm yet light. Plenty of pockets. Two-way zipper. Sleeve gaiters. Insulated hood (down). Covers the backside (pro for me).
Cons: Runs a little big (got an L based on the fact that my last two interchange jkts have been L) but not so badly that I'd switch. Stiff zipper.
Things I'd change: Omni heat lining in the hood; fleece or sherpa around the collar for added softness and warmth around the face.

Great ski jacket for COLD weatherI am on a weekly ski bus up to the Rocky Mountains and needed something to keep me warm on 0-1-15 degree days. No more fair weather skiing only. This jacket has done the trick paired with the matching down jacket, 1/4 zip top and extra layer of Polar Fleece.
I am tall 5' 10", 165 lbs. and large fits great. The sleeves are long but with a Velcro closing they are a welcome change. Love the finger socks that hold the sleeves down.
Hood fits over my helmet.
Only negative is that the zippers have small teeth and hard to grab pulls. With ski mittens or gloves on I can't zip them. My guess is that the small teeth are to help with water and wind proofing but I am frustrated. I am going to try some bigger pulls but fear that the zippers are still going to be tight and hard to move. Trade offs. Love all the pockets.

ski jacketI bought the coat for my wife who skis 20-40 times a year. She was absolutely ecstatic with this coat. It weighs almost nothing, historically my wife has layered and had nice name brand ski coats and still complained about being cold. Not so with this coat. One or 2 layers and this coat keeps her very warm. I think she counted 9 pockets inside and outside to hold all that you need and more. It has a drawstring skirt that you can engage that keeps any snow off you when and if you crash. It looks great, very light, fits perfect. My wife jokingly tries to find reasons to wear this coat when not skiing, lol. It even has zippers under the armpits to cool you down if you get too hot in this coat, and it will happen if you overdress underneath. Great coat.

Odd sizingThe purple color is fantastic, but the sizing is very strange. I'm 5'8" and in other Columbia coats (like the Bugaboo) I wear a medium. The medium was too tight, especially in the chest area, and I am not big busted by any means. The large was so much larger than the medium, I had to check to see if I had been shipped an XL. It fits more like a relaxed fit on me. But again the chest area was on the tight side, although my broad shoulders might affect that. The really strange thing is that the sleeves are so much longer in the large. I have really long arms, and they are too long for me. The length of the coat is fine with me but I don't downhill ski. One other thing. The zipper is really hard to use. For this expensive of a coat I don't want to have to struggle with getting the zipper up. On the positive side, I think this coat will really keep you warm, so I recommend it for that reason.

Please FIX the preportions on this jacket!I wanted to LOVE this jacket; I wanted to buy this jacket. It is the jacket I have been searching for for years, ever since another manufacturer stopped making my 0 degree ski jacket. This jacket has FULL BODY length pit zips, absolutely necessary for venting when I ski down. Marvelous! Most down jackets skip this absolutely essential feature for a serious skier. This jacket is warm and wonderful with that amazing sliver heat guard. Brilliant. A god-send.
BUT this jacket is TOO LONG, by far. I am 5'5'', 122. Even the small (which is too tight in the shoulders) comes below my butt. The medium, which is a little big all over, but I could deal with that, comes down to my upper thigh. I CAN'T SIT IN IT without hitching it up, which means no sitting on a chair lift. It's also tight around my thighs, so no wearing ski pants under it. I have been looking for this jacket for YEARS, but it just far too long to be usable at all.
Please make it again, and in that gorgeous purple color. I would have bought TWO of them, and told my friends to run out and buy it too. Please, please Columbia, make this jacket in the right proportions. I am dying to own it, but must send it back.
Ski jackets cannot hang down below one's rear. Period. But on top of that, it's tight around the thighs, like a big drawstring sack. You can't sit in it without pushing it up around your waist, nor move your legs. Please feel free to contact me, Columbia, to fix this jacket. I passionately want to have it, but it must be a length one can move in.
