OutDry™ Extreme is our first ever waterproof and breathable fabric technology constructed with a waterproof layer on the outside and soft, wicking fabric inside. Traditional raingear uses interior waterproof membranes which don't allow for air flow, and water-repellent coating that degrades over time. With OutDry™ Extreme, the rugged exterior is an incredibly water-tight membrane with millions of microscopic perforations that let water vapor escape through a wicking membrane directly fused to the shell.

Great on the trail, the fully seam-sealed Titanium OutDry Ex with bold, external seam taping is a problem solver when it comes to a soaking rain. The bonded, horizontal baffles keeps the 700 fill power goose down in place and eliminates the cold spots. This versatile down jacket is perfect for just about anywhere it’s cold and wet.

Women’s OutDry™ Ex Gold Down Jacket is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 41.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great lightweight waterproof down jacket This Outdry Ex Gold Down jacket is the perfect jacket for keeping you warm and dry on days that aren't really cool winter days. I have not worn it yet and it is more light weight than I expected compared to the normal '700 goose down' jackets but it is a sharp looking jacket with a great flattering fit- and waterproof as well!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from WOMEN’S OUTDRY™ EX GOLD DOWN JACKET I will not be wearing it until the cold season. The jacket is thinner than I have thought. I hope, this jacket keeps me warm in the lower temperature 40F. Size M would be more room but the sleeves are too long.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Functional down rain jacket I've been looking for a down rain jacket to hike in for a while and decided after a lot of research to go with this one. Although this may not be the warmest, it holds a lot of heat in. My husband and I hiked the West Highland Way, and this jacket was a life saver. It goes down long enough, and keeps you warm and dry. On the colder mornings I added a fleece under it, and it was perfect. Its durable, comfortable, and light weight. The only thing I'd change is add a pit vent and velcro on the sleeves to let you adjust to fit you. I got the blue cloudburst color and the picture was off slightly on the color as a lot of people have mentioned. I actually prefer it, as it's a touch brighter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it I live on the Oregon coast where we often have damp chilly days. This coat is perfect for that kind of weather. The outer water proof coating really does work. And the thin down insulation is nice and cozy. I have already recommanded it to friends and family!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect jacket for the NW This is a great jacket for the weather here in the NW. It is well made, warm and waterproof. The hood is warm and comfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect weather jacket for traveling In cool, rainy weather, this light - weight jacket packs well for trips where weather is uncertain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Jacket Love it!! I have room for bulky sweaters underneath on really cold days. Keeps the wind and rain/snow out!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice jacket Love the jacket I ordered a xl fits a little tight and I have plenty of Columbia jackets. But it’s nice!!
Date published: 2018-03-18
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not What I Expected I was expecting a much warmer jacket. It is probably good in the rain, but not a cold rain or snow. There wasn't much down. It is lightweight, but if you were in really cold weather, you would suffer. This is going back. I wanted to like it because it sounded perfect in the description. Not worth the price.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Keeps you dry! Great coat as long as it's not below 40°. We were at the ocean on a 36°day, I had 2 long sleeve shirts and my favorite Columbia sweater on under it and I was freezing. I thought the down would keep me warmer. Unfortunately I was looking for a coat to keep me dry AND warm here in the Pacific Northwest. It'll get used for less cold activities. Fantastic for keeping you dry, though. Best raincoat I've had!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing warmth in all conditions This is a great jacket that will provide warmth in the coldest of conditions. The black color is more of a dark grey and the size runs large

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome jacket! Hands down, this has been one of the best Columbia jackets my family has ever owed. Warm, light weight & daughter loves it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket For Active in the Cold I just wore my jacket for the first time yesterday and while it is thin and stylish, it provides plenty of warmth. I had to order a larger size for when I have on a sweater and wish it fit a bit more snugly than it does, but it will be great for nordic skiing and hiking outdoors this winter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best warm rain jacket ever This is the most functional warm rain jacket I have ever had. It is comfortable in a wide range of temperatures and keeps you dry. I like the colors available too.
Date published: 2017-12-07
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not sure about this one I put 'yes' for recommending this jacket, but my true answer is 'maybe.' It is indeed waterproof, but not nearly as warm as I had hoped it would be since the down is very sparse. I think it'll probably be good for between seasons when it's rainy, or for spring skiing, but it certainly does not keep me warm enough for PNW rainy and cold days.
Date published: 2017-12-01
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great coat The jacket function is the best. Only issue I don't love is the color. The black is more grey.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Product works great! I have worn this jacket layered while in Juneau, Alaska. It is waterproof and warm. It has worked great in the snow and cold and I have had no complaints. The outside fabric is super durable and has withstood tiny German Shepherd puppy teeth.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Met all of my criteria I have been looking for a winter coat that was: down filled with third-party tested, humanely sourced down, waterproof, not super bulky, and really, really cute. This meets and exceeds every criteria. It does run slightly large, which has been my experience with all Columbia products. I am 5'7, 127 pounds and bought the XS. It fits perfectly. I have always been a fan of Columbia for their quality but will not buy down unless it is traceable, humanely sourced, no matter how good of quality. Now that Columbia is making most (all?) of their down products from traceable, humanely sourced, I am a customer for life.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Super Warm and Super Light This seems like a GREAT jacket so far. I'm always freezing, but was feeling silly wearing my giant long super thick down coat come fall. I was initially hesitant that this jacket would keep me warm because it's so lightweight. It definitely does. It might run slightly large, but I like that so I can layer under it. I bought a thick fleece to layer under it and have actually been too warm when I wear the fleece with it, but I'm sure I will be doing that come the deep freeze of winter. My only complaint is that the zipper does not zip easily. I have to hold it just the right way to get it to zip up without getting caught, but otherwise it is a great everyday jacket that I even plan on skiing with.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blue skies, no rain The Outdry Ex Gold Down is heads and tails the best outdoor jacket that I've had for the Oregon rain. It's cozy, flattering, waterproof. Great to wear to the gym or out for dinner on chilly nights. Cloudburst is the perfect color for those dark winter days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My favorite jacket ever! I have worn this jacket for trips ranging from skiing to hiking in freezing rain. I do ski patrol in the Upper Peninsula of MI and this jacket has been my best investment so far. I am dry, able to move, and not sweat allot. I very much recommend this jacket. I loved it so much I bought the colder weather one for deep freeze days.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Runs HUGE The concept of this jacket is A++, but it runs really, really large. I wear an XS. I have several Columbia jackets all in XS and they all fit. I also have several Columbia tops and even some pants, all in XS and they all fit. For some reason, this jacket fits like a women's Medium even though it's an XS. So order at least a size down. Since there's no size down from XS, I'll have to return it. I'm really disappointed because I loved the concept of taking 1 jacket on a trip that would keep me warm even in wet conditions and not having to take another rain jacket. Also, it's pretty sparse on the down filling, so I don't think it would be very warm even if it did fit.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice Jacket This is a very nice looking jacket. I purchased the red and it's exactly the same as it shows on the internet. However, the sizing is poor. I'm a small person. I purchased size X Small. I find the jacket and the sleeve length to be too long. It's also very tight across the chest. If I go up a size, the entire jacket will be too large. I will be going to Mount Everest in two weeks and plan to take this jacket. Hopefully it is water proof.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great function, but not petite-friendly It is not easy to find jackets that are both waterproof and warm, but this jacket does both. Cons: I am 5' tall and purchased XS, and the sleeves are about 6 inches too long. Because of the rigidity of the fabric I have tried several variations of scrunching and folding them up, to no avail. Columbia simply doesn't make clothes for short people. Also, the hood is pretty flappy; there are some drawstrings inside you can adjust to pull it in a bit, but even light winds manage to push it back and off my head. Pros: completely stops the chill, and wonderfully waterproof. Surprisingly lightweight - I was expecting it to be heavy and boxy, but it is actually quite fitted and flattering in the torso. I really hated the look of those grey lines in the photos, but in real life they somehow work. I live in the Pacific Northwest and this has pretty much immediately become my go-to for our rainy, windy, cold seasons (3/4 of the year!). The color: I ordered 'red camellia' even though I couldn't really figure out what that meant - it really does not look red in the pictures, so I wasn't sure what I was actually getting. My husband describes it as "bubblegum" color. It's not super pink, but it's definitely not red. In sum: I wish they offered petite sizing, and that there were more color options. But due to my climate, and the fact this jacket went on sale, I was willing to 'settle.' And I think I got a pretty good deal.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Really Waterproof and Quite Light I've been wearing this thing continuously since I got it, about 3 months now. I barely take it off to go to sleep at night. I live in Portland, and it's been seriously rainy. I wore it in 5 hours of downpour during the women's march and was comfortable. It is the most waterproof jacket I have. The water is still beading on it, instead of soaking into the outer layer. That means that when I go inside I take it off on the porch and shake the water off. The insulation is about right. I ordered it large enough to wear a thick sweater underneath when it's actually cold. When it's only cool I can wear a light layer and the air circulation keeps me from getting too sweaty. The pockets are good. Nice deep interior pockets are divided into four columns so you can keep your wallet separate from your hat and gloves and newspaper. The hood is functional. Two little toggles by either cheek cinch it down to keep wind and snow out. The whole jacket is quite lightweight. It packs down pretty small. It does what you expect down to do. The zipper is a little tricky; you have to get the fabric lined up right or it won't zip. The color is a little icky: I like blue but this is a boring blue.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great little jacket. Works great as a spring ski jacket with a merino wool or fleece layer underneath. Will be using it to stay warm and dry through the spring and fall months.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Versatile jacket I love this jacket. Im 5'6", 125# and ordered the S. It allows me to layer underneath, but not too big if I don't. It is the perfect jacket to walk my dog on cold, rainy days and I intend to ski in it when we hit the mountain. It really keeps me warm without the bulkiness of a heavy jacket. I just wish it had a chest pocket for the lift ticket and either velcro or zippers for the inside pockets. But very happy with comfort, function, and style.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for PNW winter I used this while visiting my family for the Snowpocalypse 2016. Sixteen inches of snow fell at their place in the Willamette Valley and then it was cold and wet. I wore this the whole time and even took it skiing. I'll agree with others that for tech gear this runs large, but if you order your normal size (I'm a normal medium), you should be fine. The jacket kept out pelting sleet and kept me plenty warm and comfortable on Mt Hood. Keepin it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice jacket but ..... I ordered black but its NOT black!! Its gray. Please dont advertise something as a color that it is not! I hate gray and for that i may send it back. It would also would be nice if the hood had tightening straps. How are you supposed to keep a driving rain out without being able to cinch the hood down or even keep it on in the wind? Nothing like being out in the wilderness in the rain and not being able to stay completely dry because of bad hood design. For $250 this sucker better have all of the angles covered!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love!!! This item fits true to size, perfect length and fit! So thin and yet it keeps me warm! My mother also purchased the same jacket and loves it as well. Well worth the money!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome jacket! Ordered this jacket to be worn outside at the barn riding my horse & walking my dogs....We live on the "wetcoast." Wanted a jacket that was warm & completely waterproof instead of my rubber rain jackets that still make you cold underneath no matter how many layers....So far so good, have to layer underneath otherwise I still feel cold pockets..I'm normally a Large, and this jacket runs a bit big, but nothing to worry about as I'll be layering...Love that it's not bulky & moves with me when I ride...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The jacket we've all been waiting for! I LOVE that I finally have a jacket that is both fully waterproof and insulated. I have not put it to the test while doing a more aerobic activity, so I'm not sure about the breathability, but it seems like it will be great. The fit is nice and it feels lightweight despite being a sturdy jacket. My only minor complaints are that the fabric is slightly stiff and the color "Black" is definitely more of a graphite (gray). Still love it though!
Date published: 2016-11-29
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Jacket I just received the jacket in the mail a couple days ago. I ordered the jacket back and medium. It is a little large for medium but will be nice a fleece or two underneath it. It's also NOT black. It is more gray and even charcoal. I haven't tested it outdoors much yet, but keeps me nice and warm in 30 degree weather.
Date published: 2016-11-09
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Idea, Great Jacket I usually wear a large in women's wear, and I'm pretty sure I'll fill this jacket out when I start to layer - but it runs a tad large. The black color I got is more of a charcoal, so if you're particular about color, it's not a true black. Other than that, it's a solid jacket with lots of great features - taped seams, inner pockets, draw strings for customizing the fit. It has good length so it goes past the hips, but not too far down. And come on... waterproof down, yes please! Wish the hood was removable, but you can't win them all.
