Women's Kaleidaslope™ II Jacket is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 229.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Kept Me Warm I wore this in 20 degree weather on a 3.6 mile hike. Underneath, I had a fleece sweater and a fleece shirt (3 layers total). The jacket was so warm, I needed to take it off within a 1/3rd of the hike. I love the thumb holes and how lightweight the jacket is. Zipper pockets help keep whatever is in there secure. Big plus: you can machine wash it without worry. I purchased a large so I could have thick layers underneath. If you are going to hike in this jacket though, you might just want to stick with your true size (don't really need all that layering).

Rated 5 out of 5 by from In LOVE I love this jacket...I did buy a size up because I wear heavier clothing underneath. But it fits so well and I love the collar on it...it's just enough .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great jacket! I ordered this because I had a similar jacket in the past from Columbia with a fleece-lined collar, and it was so warm and comfortable that I ordered this one and I love it! I was worried about the silver lining being uncomfortable, but it is actually very soft and warm. The wrist covers are a great addition, too. I've already gotten compliments on this jacket. My one concern is whether what happened to my previous jacket will happen to this one - the fabric got dirty and there is just no way to clean it. I was told that happens with nylon - so hopefully Columbia has noticed this problem and put better stain repellent on this jacket. Otherwise, I would still be wearing the old one!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Mid Layer Wasn't expecting so much fashion forward styling. Love the bias cut panels at the chest and curved seam at the hem. Very flattering! Bought this to use as a mid layer with CSC Mogul coat. I am 5'3" and wear a size 2. Bought both in size XS and they fit perfectly together. I can use this coat on its own when I hike and wear a pony tail without getting cold because of the high neck. Most ergonomic pockets I have ever had on any jacket ever. Rated 5 out of 5 by from my fourth one I've loved this jacket for the past five years...bought a different color to make it seem new. Love the fit (order up a size) and the look and the warmth. It's not bulky so you never feel like that kid in a snow suit. During colder Mid-Atlantic winters I wear it virtually every day and it comes out of the washer/dryer looking brand new. I'm 5'11" and normal weight but with a bit of a low belly, and the styling of this jacket is flattering. The faux fur lining around the neck makes it warm even without a scarf...but it looks great with a scarf too! (Bought one for my sister...she's shorter and more round and it looks great on her too!)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The perfect coat I love this coat. It is very feminine and fits me perfectly. It is lightweight yet keeps me warm in the cold weather. I will say that I don't stay outside for extended periods of time so I can't vouch for it in those conditions but it is great for when you are in and out like shopping in town centers. Full disclosure. I originally purchased this coat a year ago and ended up having a problem with the zipper after the first year. Columbia's lifetime warranty ensured that I got a replacement. I couldn't be happier.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect weight This is the perfect weight for Alabama winters. Love the mineshaft color. I had to return my first one because of a small stitching flaw in the sleeve but returned with no problem and I love it!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight yet Warm LOVE these kaleidoscope jackets. I bought one 2 years ago in the Ebony Blue color and that was my main go to jacket. I wanted another one as a back up or 2nd option so I bought the upgraded(most recent) one this winter (2017). I utilized the Cyber Monday sale and finally bought it along with some boots. I simply LOVE my Jacket! I got the *Tradewinds Grey color and it is Beautiful! It's warm yet sooo feathery & lightweight. I also love the thumb hole cuffs which keeps my wrists warm all day if needed and the chic new cut of the flaps on the front bring the jacket a new look. It's long enough to keep my back and sides warm and fits true to size (Size Small). They wash well and the omni heat does what it's created for...warmth! I want the brown(MineShaft) color also but I'll wait til next year to see if it'll be upgraded again. The *Kaleidoscopes are my favorite winter jackets now. I rotate between the 2 jackets and have no complaints...❤

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this jacket! Super comfortable. Light weight. The sleeves have a really neat stretchy wrist attachment with a thumb hook. It just feels comfy when you slip your arms in it! Sleek design yet it doesn't feel tight at all so your arms move freely. Can hardly tell you are wearing it, yet is keeps you warm. I especially love the soft collar. My neck is always cold and with this jacket, I don't need to wear a scarf. Slimming fit as well. I would recommend this jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight and Warm Absolutely love this jacket! My search was over when I found this jacket. It is so comfortable, lightweight, and warm for those cold days. I love the color and the way it feels! Thank you Columbia!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Saved me in Germany I got this coat as a liner for my rain shell when it's not quite cold enough to break out the ski coat. I took both to Germany with me and when it wasn't raining, this is all I needed! It was the last two weeks of October and not much warmer than 35-40°F the whole trip. Absolutely would recommend to anyone. I loved the teal color too. Not super great with wind and does repell light rain but just perfect under the shell. I am 5'8/130 lbs and have long arms, the medium fit perfectly.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Runs Small I loved the color and style but it ran extremely small for me. I wear XL across the board and this coat was skin tight. I exchanged for the same size of a different style and fit perfect.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from It's all in the details Was looking for a light weight jacket to get me through spring, fall and some milder winter days, but without a hood. Found it in the Kaleidaslope! Love the soft collar, doesn't irritate my chin and lies flat when I want it to. The pin-tuck detailing on the body gives it a feminine look, and of course, thumb holes! This is my first Columbia coat with Omni-Shield and was slightly skeptical that it would be warm, being the coat weighs nothing at all, but it performs beautifully in cold weather. Love it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Coat Perfection I have spent a good amount of time researching coats on a quest for one that fits my versatile needs. I finally found one in the Kaleidaslope™ II Jacket. - active fit and flattering diagonal pattern style, so I don't look like I'm drowning like boxy-style coats (I wear it hiking and when running errands.) - thin, yet warm due to the omni-heat lining, so I don't look puffy AND great weight/thickness for layering under my Gortex raincoat - fuzzy collar that is warm against my neck like a built-in scarf - built-in thumb holes to keep my hands protected - internal zipper security pocket for my wallet, keys, chapstick or whatever - omni-shield good at protecting from water AND blocking wind

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this jacket! I ordered this jacket direct from Colombia due to the price and was in stock, but was pleasantly surprised at the ease of the web site and information available while ordering. I spent the extra $ to have this and a few other accessories overnighted and got exactly that! My order was at my door in 2 days and my package was in pristine condition. The size was perfect and the color is great. Great job Colombia!! You now have a very loyal customer for life! Thank you :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Up to the cold I've had this jacket for 3 Alaskan winters, it might not get as cold as it did 20 years ago but we still a couple of 20 below (zero) days in. Don't worry it's a dry cold lol. This jacket has performed well, maintained warmth and shape, still looks nice, though it can snag.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best Jacket I've ever owned! Fits perfectly and isn't bulky. Warm but wicks so it keeps you warm without weight and feeling overheated. Color (teal) is beautiful. Has a simple style which I love. I'm a senior but I also got one for a teenager and she loves it too!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than expected This is by far the best coat I've ever purchased, light weight warm and looks amazing. I'm a bit bosomy so I decided to order a size up (given this runs a bit small) and was concerned about fit but I was completely blown away. The coat fits like a glove. I am very pleased.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Super Lightweight! I had this jacket through two Chicago winters. I was incredibly impressed with how well it held up. It's super lightweight and easily packed. It washes very well, too. Admittedly I did start getting cold while wearing it when it was under about 15 degrees, but it did a great job up until that point. I have recently lost weight and will be buying the exact same jacket in a smaller size. Highly recommend!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Light but very warm I was looking for a good, warm jacket that I can wear three seasons of the year in Seattle and I found it in this jacket! It's very light but because of the special lining that looks like tin foil, it's really warm. I was surprised that I could wear it with just a thin shirt underneath and still stay warm on a cold day. The only thing I'm not crazy about is how high the collar is (it hits my chin too much and I have to keep folding it down), and I don't like the sleeve cuffs that you can hook on your thumbs (it makes the cuff too tight). I would have preferred just regular sleeve cuffs or a plain hem. Overall, great jacket. I recommend it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from declining product quality When i first purchased this jacket I loved it and it functioned very well until now. I was out getting coffee with a friend, as I left the coffee shop I looked down and found a rip in my jacket's exterior on the pocket. I ran into nothing, didn't take scissors or any sharp objects near it; I only wore it, took it off and put it on a chair, and then put it back on, but somehow it ripped during these simple tasks. I've trusted this brand for great outdoor wear that lasts, but this product has changed my mind about your brand as it doesn't stand up to simple everyday wear. I looked into the warranty and was told to send it in only to have it returned to me unfixed because "garment is not defective due to workmanship or materials" all that I got was a coupon for something else at 20% off. My problem is that if these flimsy materials aren't defective then your product quality has seriously declined and I will spend my money elsewhere because 20% off of poor quality is still a waste of my money.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from In-between sizes I loved the weight and color of this jacket, but the fit was a problem. The L was a little bulky, and the M was too tight across the chest/shoulders. Sadly, I had to return both sizes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This jacket is great! I have been looking for a new winter jacket for a couple years now, so I looked into Columbia! I am very satisfied with my purchase! I wanted something warm but I didn't want the bulk. This fit my needs perfectly! The omni-heat is great and keeps me warm and it's light and comfortable with no bulk. It runs small though. I weigh about 115 pounds and 5'3" where usually I would buy a small but as I read other reviews I ordered a size up. It fits great except the arms are a little long but nothing that can't be tolerated. I plan on purchasing another one for a family member next year! Overall great product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! I'm absolutely in love with this jacket but I do have some suggestions that might improve the jacket if they change the design and release it again next year. The design is more feminine and unique than your average down jacket and the omni-heat is super warm. I like the ashy faux-fur on the inside of the collar and the thumb loops at the wrist. While the jacket is warm, it's not heavy enough for serious winter weather. It's thin enough that it would be great under a ski jacket and light enough that with a base layer or fleece underneath it's fine for running errands on your average winter day. To give you an idea, I'm about 5'10" and 130lbs. Because I'm tall and slender, I find that the length isn't exactly right for me and if it weren't for the added length in the sleeve that comes from the thumb loops themselves, the sleeves wouldn't be long enough for me. The collar is also a weird height when it's up. It hits me about mid-chin. I don't know if this is the case with everyone or if this is because my neck is long. I wish the jacket came in tall to correct for some of these issues, but that being sad, I'd buy this jacket again in a heart beat if this one wore out (even without the added length).

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Not fitted like the picture looks This coat is very thin and I didn't like the style. The picture looks very nice so I ordered an XS for someone who is 5"1" and 90 lbs. This coat is not fitted like it says and it was still to big and long. Also, the style of the coat doesn't look like the picture. It's actually very thin and and the top half of the front and back have "feather" like openings that just isn't my style.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome! I have this jacket for the last five years, but showing a little wear (white). I have never owned such a light weight jacket that keeps you warm in the coldest of winters. Wore it up north in snow and below 0 degrees without any problems at all. It washes and drys with out loosing its warmth and looks. Hopefully, they will continue making this jacket with the Omni Heat. I also ordered the Mighty Lite and it got me through this winter with the same results. I highly recommend the Kaleidaslope™ II or the Mighty Lite to anyone. It goes through cool springs, cold cold winters and chilly falls.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect. Very light (non bulky) and warm.
Date published: 2016-03-03
Rated 4 out of 5 by from pocket snags This jacket fir great and was super-warm on the slopes in Colorado even thought it is so light weight and thin. The only thing that could be improved is the zipper pockets at waist area kept getting snagged on the interior fabric. When skiing with gloves, it became a little annoying to have to pull at the fabric to get zippered pockets open or closed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket!!! Perfect for travel I'm 5'8" 140 lbs and ordered a medium. (I have lightly wide shoulder, but slim build with long arms). I usually can wear a small, but wanted to be able to put a light sweater under the jacket. This jacket fits perfect. I love the cut that is very flattering. Perfect for traveling as it's super light, but warm. The lining along the neck is very cozy. Would buy again!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! After reading several reviews that stated this coat runs small, I couldn't decide which size to get. I ended up ordering the size I normally wear and it fits perfect. I'm 5'2" and 117 pounds and I ordered a small. I received it in time to get through two Michigan blizzards and it has kept me warm enough with a sweatshirt, sweater or long sleeve tee shirt underneath. Because it is lightweight, it also transitions well to the warm-ups that occur in the afternoon. I love the length, as it covers the rear and accommodates some longer styles of clothing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm, pretty, feminine fit and functional! I love the fit and flair of this jacket. I purchased the grey color and love the shade, kind of a dressy silver, but of course functional, warm, lightweight abs built for performance.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice but not what I was hoping I was looking for a coat to be my main winter coat in Indiana, but it isn't going to be warm enough on its own, so looks like I'll have to return it. I loved the furry collar, it was so soft. The Omni-heat definitely makes it warmer than you would think for being so thin. The mineshaft color was awesome. I didn't notice from the pictures, but the front of the coat has these flappy little layers that I worry would catch on things. In the pictures online it looks like they are just seams, but they aren't sewn down. The fit of the coat didn't work for me, and I could have probably gone down a size because it flares out at the bottom and without a drawstring to tighten I'm sure it would be pretty cold and drafty. This would make a decent Fall/Spring coat or for somewhere with mild winters, however it just doesn't cut it as a Winter coat for my climate.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best. Jacket. Ever! I had this jacket for many years in a beautiful color they no longer make (wine/burgundy) and absolutely loved it! It was my every day jacket & never made me too hot, but also remains incredibly warm (even for Colorado snowy weather). Great quality & the lining around the neck makes it unique & cute too -- I got regular compliments on it. It also washed well in the washing machine on cold (I didn't dry it) and the shape or material never warped. When looking for a replacement (because I lost mine eventually somewhere between skiing, hiking, or traveling) I spent a lot of time trying on many, many comparable jackets in well-known outdoor brands. At the end of the day I had to come back to purchasing this one again. It's just the best all-around jacket. It fits well (not too snug/not baggy -- I'm 5'5'', 138 lbs. and the "M" size is perfect), fits my warmth criteria, & I know it's durable. I got the "Mineshaft" color this time even though I wasn't 100% sure how the color would look in person, but it's beautiful! And the lowest price I found was on this website too, so another reason why I'm writing the review here. Hope this helps!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good all season jacket! Order one size up. I ordered this a size larger than my typical size so that I had plenty of room with sweaters and layering that happens during winter dressing. The jackets fits well and allows some extra room. The silver dot lining really does help keep me quite warm. I wore the jacket on a recent trip to Nashville and found myself getting hot if I had it on inside for more than a few minutes. I was toasty warm outside even though it was 37 degrees. Recommend one size larger. I owned one in my size before and it was a bit too snug for winter dressing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awsome light weight jacket Let me start by saying I own a nice collection of Columbia jackets. This jacket arrived yesterday when our weather was 25 with wind chill of 20. I ventured out to stand in the sleet and I must say I was surprised at how well it help up, I was cool after about 15 min., but not cold. An hour later the winds picked up, still sleet, and temps dropped a few degrees. I layered a fleece under to take out the dog. I was toasty warm. This morning 25 and rain, put this jacket under my raincoat and it was the perfect match for the elements. Given respect to the jacket, it is meant to be layered with the interchange system if one would feel that need to be warmer. For anyone expecting this jacket to go into the freezing temps by itself layers would be very important. Everyone feels the cold differently so the interchange system in my opinion is awesome. ** I did have to size up on the jacket.**

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm despite weight Looked so cute , but thin! Feared I would freeze while skiing but was really perfect! Warmth without bulk! I must also add I was in lots of Colorado "dry cold" but this jacket was a winner.
