Women’s Lake 22™ Long Hooded Down Jacket is rated out of 5 by 51.
Rated 3 out of 5 by Leapyearcin from You get what you pay for I bought this at full price ($150) & wish I had waited till it had gone on sale. I knew this was not going to be as good a quality coat as the lined 2012 Mountain Hardware Downtown coat I was replacing (unreplaceable broken zipper), but the reviews for the coat made me hopeful that this would be a warm-enough "budget" down jacket. Sigh. What's good: I'm 5'2", 126 lbs, & the fit was great (M), esp the length, the color was great, it wasn't that hard to get used to a scuba hood vs an adjustable removable one (plus this scuba hood helped keep the lower half of my face warm), & it's fairly water resistant with snow, even wet snow. Not so great: it's not that warm. In 40's & wind it feels like a windbreaker, & not a great one at that. In temps in the 20s-30s, I was only warm if I wore a buff & a hat, then a wool liner, a cashmere sweater, & a down vest underneath the coat. Cold + wind were a really bad combo with this. And I love the cold! Lesson learned: I don't think I would've been worse off had I gotten another brand coat at Costco with very similar specs for only $39.99. But at a $150 for this one, I'm disappointed & feel a bit like a sucker. By the time I realized how insubstantial this coat was, we were well into winter, & I didn't want a gap without a coat by returning or exchanging it (plus the idea of losing the shipping money was a disincentive too). If you are looking for a budget coat that looks nice but lacks substance, &/or if you don't mind layering up a lot, or if you are exceptional at generating heat, then this will work just fine. If you are looking for something with a little more substance & can manage the cost, maybe keep looking?

Rated 5 out of 5 by Yenny from surprisingly warm I bought this coat because I needed something warm and water resistant that I could also pack easily into my day pack for hiking. It's much thinner than I was expecting so I was doubtful it would be warm... but it totally was. I took this snowshoeing in the cascades and even rolled around in the snow in it and was super warm and dry. It packs down super small into my day pack as well. Definitely serves the purpose I bought it for. I'm 5'4", 105lbs and an XS is a perfect fit, with plenty of room to layer under.

Rated 5 out of 5 by PickeeMissee from Extremely Lightweighted Coat Ordered in a size medium, was not as form fitting nor flattering, which is what was desired for a longer coat. Ordered Medium for layering, lost flattery. Nice amount of room in the chest area to zip without that pressed look. The sleeve is gathered with trim and hits right at wrist, prefer longer loose-ended sleeve length. Although coat is paper thin, it does keep u warm? Omniheat technology is all the rave! The color black is more along the line of a nice matte, not garbage bag black! Returned to try my luck at a size small. 5’5”, 130lbs, slim/athletic build, slim long waistline transitions into hips, 32B bust.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Jessxnguyen from Not as warm as I'd hoped I go to university in Connecticut and it gets COLD. When I walk to class, I need a thick jacket to prevent from freezing to death. I've had the same North Face puffy jacket for over 8 years and my mom wanted me to purchase a longer jacket. Since this one had good reviews, I decided to buy it. However, it is a thin jacket and would be better for Spring or Autumn. It definitely is not as thick or warm as I'd hope and I'll have to layer clothing under the jacket. I also tried to return the jacket for this reason, but I had worn it once, which I learned is against the return policy. The sales associate at the Columbia store said that even though I had all of the detached tags, the tags must be attached to return. Just a fair warning in case you were not aware of Columbia's return policy! I am still on the hunt for a super warm parka!

Rated 4 out of 5 by velitchko from Great lightweight jacket My wife loves it! She's excited that it's so light she could fold it and pack it easily in her purse. The only thing she was not happy about is that this model doesn't have the OMNI-heat surface inside.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Danja from Great coat I purchased this online and was surprised how thin and lightweight it was. I have only worn it once on a cold December night and it kept me very warm. It is a very comfortable jacket. I would size up especially if you want to wear layers underneath.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Karine84 from Canada Après plusieurs recherches sur les reviews, j'ai achetée ce manteau. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jess05 from Great stylish outdoor coat I love this jacket! The length is perfect as is the rest of the fit. I actually ordered two other jackets from Columbia with this similar style. I wasn't even going to try this one on but then decided to. It was immediately my favorite. You can dress it up or down, I ordered the M in nori. I have received lots of compliments while wearing it. I live in MT and it's already hit cold temperatures and this jacket has been great on walks or running errands around town. I recommend it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Duhmama from Well made / folds conveniently Never had a down puffer coat before but needed one Immediately for a plane trips to very cold, snowy areas. So lightweight. I hope it keeps me warm enough but I can always fit a heavy sweater underneath. Other down puffers I tried had feathers pricking through. Dont think that can happen due to good construction. Hope it is water repellent as well. Cant believe it can be washed. Love how thin it folds to fit into a backpack or luggage without ruining it. Very nice long, lightweight coat. Good value.

Rated 2 out of 5 by cheryola from great coat but zipper does not work well Bought this jacket for my sister as a gift. The jacket is beautiful. I have to return because of the zipper. It gets stuck every time you try to zip it and will be deformed if to zip it many times. So I had to return it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by kimberly719 from Haven't Worn Yet, but Thin and Bad Zipper I haven't used this product yet as it hasn't gotten cold enough, but it's very thin so I am hoping it will be warm enough in the cold weather! It fits a little loose, but I am thinking it will be better when I am wearing bulky clothes underneath. I am also having some zipper issues and may need to return it for that reason.

Rated 3 out of 5 by BestFit525 from Not quite what I expected Pulled it out of the clear bag it came in and was surprised at how thin it was. Advertised as a down jacket but couldn't feel it when squeezing it with my hand...and definitely didn't feel it when putting it on. Feels more like a long windbreaker jacket to me. I know lightweight and less bulk is the big selling point nowadays but this was TOO light for me. Also noticed that many of Columbia's coats/jackets don't have drawstrings. Not sure why but would be great if they did. I see that as a basic feature for any coat or jacket, especially designed to be down/insulated.

Rated 4 out of 5 by mngirl92 from needs a waist cinch i love the material and design of this jacket. There aren't really any seams so the down doesn't come out like it does in other jackets. Also since there aren't really seams it traps the heat pretty well. I live in MN and haven't really tried it yet in the below zero weather yet but I feel like it would do fine with a baselayer underneath. My only complaint is I wish the waist had a cinch/ drawstring thing. It is overall flattering but its still a bit boxy on me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Hannah11 from Good quality, lightweight jacket I ordered this jacket to replace my favorite Columbia winter jacket when the zipper finally gave out. I love the color and the fitted look, and the attached hood is much less cumbersome than the detachable one I had previously. It is super lightweight and great for 30-40 degree weather! I am a little more concerned about wearing it in colder weather. The material is much thinner than my previous jacket, and since it is very fitted so I can't fit many layers under it. It hasn't been cold enough for me to test this yet, but I'm not sure how it will do. If you are in a very cold climate, I would maybe choose a different jacket or go up a size to layer under!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Ronnie32 from Love this jacket, cute and comfortable I usually like to wear things in a small, but after wearing a friends similar jacket it was too tight when over a sweatshirt so I ordered a size up to be able to layer. It looks cute on, and the quality is nice, it was a little thinner than I expected but still a good jacket. I’m 5’6” and the length hits about lower mid-thigh

Rated 4 out of 5 by Kcain087 from Too small I didn’t really test this coat out in the cold PA elements since it ended up being too small. I normally wear a small in coats, but this one was super tight, so I returned it. It was very thin, but seemed pretty warm when I tried it on. I’m sure if it would’ve fit, it would have been a nice coat. I ended up getting the MightyLite jacket with Omni-heat from Columbia which I absolutely love!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Dany72 from Long down hooded jacket Bought this jacket for my daughter attending college. She needed something that was warm and longer than her other jackets to keep warm on her walks to and from classes and for stadium games. She loves this jacket! It is very comfortable and long enough that it keeps her warm while walking or sitting on bleachers. She likes that she can layer under it if needed but jacket seems to be very warm on it's own. It is also not restricting with movements so she loves that feature.

Rated 5 out of 5 by gus21 from Love this Jacket! This jacket is so lightweight I didn't think it would be warm but it is incredibly warm. It's 1 degree here today and it is keeping me warm. I do have a longer down coat that I'll need to break out for the negative numbers we have coming. This coat is about to my knee. I have plenty of room in it with a big sweater under it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Usha from Lake 22 Long Hdd Jacket My Lake 22 long hooded jacket (style 1738081) is wonderful. It is so warm and comfortable. It fits like a glove and is very warm in twenty degree +/- weather and snow in the mountains of West Virginia. I would have purchased one a long time ago if I had known how warm and comfortable they are. Keep up the good work, this is both quality made and efficient against cold weather and wind.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Tarakay77 from Perfect Winter Coat My daughter is a size small in clothing (5’8, 130lbs) and this coat for her perfectly. Rated 3 out of 5 by Janie54 from Mamie I was slightly disappointed as I thought this would be warm enough for 10degree weather in Buffalo. I could feel the cold air through the jacket. Also, had some trouble zipping. I love the look and style of the jacket, and would have returned for a warmer jacket but had already taken off the tags. Originally had the medium but not enough room for a heavy sweater so I returned and bought a large.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Ella25 from Light and warm but zipper is not functioning well The jacket is nice -- it's light, warm enough for a Maryland winter, just the right length. What I don't like is the zipper -- it's hard to get going, and I am worried it might break soon.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Idonthaveadog from Happy I am 5' 6'' and weigh 130 lbs and bought a size small. I was worried it would be too tight to wear anything underneath it but I am able to wear a normal size sweatshirt under it, no problem. When I zip it up, it is very warm. I was surprised by how light it is, it is very thin but definitely not bulky at all. So long as I always wear a sweatshirt under it, I will definitely be warm enough for a snowy winter. I've gotten a ton of compliments on it and have been very excited to wear it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by armeg from Skinny jeans for arms? I ordered an XL because I like room in the shoulders. While the body was too wide, the arms particularly at the elbow were too tight. I couldn't bend them all the way. Example: Reaching behind you to pull the hood on without popping a seam. I was wearing only a long sleeve tee. I can understand this sort of tapering in sweaters with stretchy fabrics. But it is not functional in a jacket. The shoulders and arm holes will accommodate a sweater, the body will accommodate a pregnancy, but the arms will only accommodate a pair of sticks. Returned it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mells from Amazing Coat This coat is so warm but also light and easy to wear. Not too bulky for a puff coat and the length is perfect. Feathers are inside and have yet to even see or feel some poking out like other coats may. 100% would recommend this coat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mama2ayres from 3rd times a charm! Love this coat!! I tried 2 others that I just wasn't satisfied with, so I was thrilled when I tried this coat on! It's plenty long, leaves enough room to move, looks really nice on, and isn't bulky. I'm 5'3" 107lbs and very athletic. It's not as "form" fitting as a few others I tried but I like that I can wear an extra layer or two under it. I can wear this coat doing just about anything - I even went running in it, even though I wasn't planning on it. Keeps me warm and cozy without all the bulk!
