Rated 5 out of 5 by ELel from Very nice and light! Great coat, light, very warm, length is just perfect. I usually get small size, and this jackets is perfect. I did not like the fur on the hood. It is just too ugly and fake, but I am glad that it is removable. I live in Canada, Ontario and we get pretty cold winter day of -30C. This coat keeps me warm. Rated 5 out of 5 by MonaL from Warm an cozy I bought brown one for myself and was very happy with my purchase. It is quite long (by knees), light and very warm which I really appreciate. It is very comfortable. Also I like that no fluff coming out. Fur on a hood could be better but in overall it looks OK. Later I bought another jacket (black one) to my daughter and she loves it. We wear it second year and it is perfect for Canadian winter :).

Rated 5 out of 5 by Monica21 from Great winter coat I bought this coat last winter. Online shopping for kids coats and realized I never left a review. This coat is worth it. I'm wearing the same one again this year. I live in Chicago where as we all know can be 3 degrees one day and 40 the next. The coat hasn't let me down. Has a hoos that can be extended and taken off. Also since its long they have a zipper at the bottom & top. So you can zip all the way up but if you need to spread your legs a little or go sledding like I do you can zip up from the bottom to open the coat up to almost the top of your thigh. Im 5"5 170lbs I have an xl. Also ive never actually gotten or felt wet. Not sure if its waterproof ill have to check but never the less. It keeps me dry even though the kids and I enjoy winter activities. Kind of wish they went up to 2xl I'd buy one for my mom too...

Rated 4 out of 5 by PrairieGirl from Warm and flattering coat I'm a little over 5'3, 135 lbs - the medium fits comfortably especially if you have a hoodie under. However, the small is more flattering and can still accommodate a sweater underneath. Bought it late in the winter so haven't tested it against the -40C wind chill we see here in the prairies. Have worn it at almost -20C, though, and it kept me decently warm. I do not like the velcro. I agree with most reviewers: snaps would've been better; but the velcro does hide nicely under the fold which makes for a sleeker look. It's nice enough to wear over a dressy outfit. Love the length. The hood fits well, too - the wind doesn't blow it off your head. However, you'll have to wear your scarf outside of the coat if you want to tighten the hood.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Mini from Upset with the size I am 5' 4" and i ordered XS. Its so huge for my size. It looks as if its for someone with Medium Size. When i wore the jacket it was so warm. But m so upset with the size. I could have kept it if it was fairly fine size but its too large around arms. I Wear small size from other brands which fits me well and i thought this would give me body hugging fit. I would not recommend for people who are too slim.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Alicaat from Zipper is junk The zipper gets stuck in the fabric every time zip it up or down. I don't like the velcro - snaps should have been used instead. I am disappointed with the design of these two items. The coat is very warm though.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Winterisgreat from Comfortable light weight jacket There are some things I do not like about this jacket. First, the jacket is very cold at temperatures below 0 C. You have to wear a thick flannel shirt underneath, then it is super toasty and comfortable even below -11 C. Second, the zipper is truly annoying. Sometimes it takes me 3 min or so to get it done up because the material underneath keeps getting caught. (Pulling outward while doing it up does help by the way.) Thirdly, the velcro is nowhere near as good as jackets that have snaps. I go for one hour to two hour walks at night through out the winter (London, Ontario ) and I eventually end up feeling quite warm and there is no way to vent the extra heat because the velcro pops open. But , otherwise it is a great coat. It is stylish, fits nicely, very light weight and comfortable. It is warm enough as long as you layer correctly according to the temperature.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Smiths from Great length for cold winter This is a long coat true to size. I thought the coat would be thicker/fuller similar to a mid length Columbia coat I own, but it doesn't seem as full. Overall the coat is nice and warm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by KCJ123 from Great Winter Coat!! I was a little apprehensive about buying this coat because it felt so thin, and I always feel so cold! But I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. For reference, I'm 5'6", 125 lbs and I bought a size small. Fits perfect. The coat goes down just below my knees and the arm length is perfect. On really cold days #I live in Southwestern Ontario where the winters can be VERY cold# I will wear another thin Columbia jacket under it #sorry, I don't know the name of that jacket, but it does have the Omni-heat feature as well# and it doesn't feel bulky at all. But like I said, I feel the cold. If there was anything I could change, it would be the Velcro that closes the flap over the zipper. Snaps would have been much better. And I would've liked a bit bigger hood. On those really cold and windy days, I want complete face protection. But it does okay with the zipper drawn all the way up, and a scarf. I would definitely recommend this coat, and the price is great!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Jacksmom1 from Bad zipper Love the coat, but the zipper constantly gets the fabric stuck in it. The coat is very warm even in 40 mph wind. Great coat overall. I purchased a medium, but should have gotten the large because I like to wear bulky sweaters. But with this coat, I don't need to layer. It's very warm

Rated 5 out of 5 by Shetta from Absolutely love this coat I recently moved to Canada from the Caribbean and wanted a jacket that would keep me warm and cozy. It absolutely does the job. I don't have to layer up even in minus 30 degrees temperatures which is a big plus for me because I can't stand wearing layers.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Luv2explore from Perfect coat for winter I consider this a long coat, not a jacket. It comes about an inch or so above my knees. It is warm, and well made. The fitted cuffs and the hood provide a barrier to the wind. It fits nicely and is true to size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bemo123 from Excellent coat I was a little unsure when I received this coat because it seemed so light but I was pleasantly surprised. I've been wearing it since in weather ranging from +2 to -30 degrees celcius with very stong winds and have been very comfortable in it. The hood is great. I am 5'3" tall and the coat hits me at knee level. My only issues are that the sleeve is too long but I'm short so it's to be expected and I wish that the inside of the hood/neck are were of another more comfortable fabric against the skin (fleece or something of that nature). It would be more pleasant than what is currently there which is quite cold on the skin. Very good purchase though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ChillinTXMom from Excellent coat I live in TX where the "cold" winter is short lived; however, I like to get out in the cold with my kids and enjoy it while staying warm. I am 5'11" and ordered an XL. The coat hits about my knees and fits very nice, not too tight or too loose. The description was not clear on the length, so I was taking a chance. I love the coat and find it very warm. There have been a couple of cold days (in the 30's) since I received it. It kept me really warm and toasty. I like the comfort cuffs and I think the hood fits nicely. I personally don't like the Velcro on the outside of the zipper (snaps would have been better); however, I would have bought it anyway. I originally ordered and wanted the purple, but it was out of stock. The mineshaft color is actually very nice and I am pleased with it. Please offer other items to match, like gloves and scarves.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Gem123 from So I bought it I should have trusted the other reviews about this product's size haha I'm Asian, and my size is M. I have tried other outerwear in Canada and it reduces to S. So..I ordered a S for me! Turned out it's SUPER huge! Literally~ But I'm lazy to return the product so I would just go for it! I especially love the arms, they are long enough for me to keep my two palms inside! yei~ It keeps me warm in -10C degree, without layerings. I dunno how it's gonna get when it's colder but it's warm for now! It's huge for me tho, so if it's getting colder, I would just put as much layers as I want! Plus, this jacket is very light! However, as everyone has stated, the zip is a huge problem, not for me to put it on but to take it out! Like seriously!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Tyra1 from Wonderfully Warm I wanted a warm jacket to wear while I was sightseeing outdoors in Europe during the winter months. This is an excellent choice. The length keeps the whole body warm and it is light enough to stow away in a backpack or larger bag if it gets a little too warm. I wear a medium and ordered a large to make sure it would zip up easily, if you are a little "hippy" recommend going up one size.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Rez13 from Really wanted to love it! Really wanted to love this coat. Loved the color (mineshaft), loved the material, loved the length, BUT... Let the reviews talk me into ordering a size smaller than I know I wear-first mistake. Did not find it to run large. Would not be able to wear anything under it that wasn't VERY thin. (For reference, I'm 5'9", about 135 lbs). Ordered a medium, really should have ordered the large I normally wear with Columbia coats. Probably would have kept the coat if it wasn't for the velcro that runs down the flap to cover the zipper. Absolutely makes it impossible to wear the coat open with a scarf on. The velcro will adhere to the scarf and totally ruin it. Since I wanted to wear it primarily walking my dog on the trails, makes the coat totally non-functional. Bummer! So, if you order the size you normally wear and don't wear scarves (or plan to wear it zipped up tight) go for it. The quality is definitely there, and it's really not as puffy as I would have thought. Would re-buy it if they ditched the velcro for snaps!

Rated 4 out of 5 by troopersue from A bit tight For Pros: I love the length, love the furry hood, love that the cuffs have an inner tighter cuff around ur wrist so no cold air will get up your sleeve. Cons: runs a big snug especially if your larger on top. Also the zipper sticks everytime I try to zip it up or unzip. I really have to yank on it . Im hoping it wont break

Rated 5 out of 5 by MaryCB from Madraune II jacket I love this coat! It's warm and the length is perfect for keeping your legs warm also. The sizing for this jacket was true to size. I even went to a store and tried them on first so that I didn't buy the wrong size. So I'm not sure about the other ratings.

Rated 5 out of 5 by ssgrant from Fantastic is so many ways This was my first real winter coat. Not a hand me down, not layers of 4 or 5 coats to try to stay warm. I wanted a long coat that would hold back the cold. I live in Pittsburgh, and although it does not get as cold as Canada or New England, we get spells of negative degrees. Mostly what we get is wind and bone chilling wind chill. There are so many things I love about this coat. I read the reviews before purchasing and they were right about it running a bit big. I was ok with this, because they didn't have the 2X I needed, so the extra large works fine. the sleeves have a neoprene type cuff so no wind slips up your sleeve. It is light weight to wear, but I don't want to put it on indoors and stand around to chit chat...it is WARM. the lining helps reflect your own body heat and you feel it right away. I love how the hood fits on my head. It's not just a big floppy thing for fashion...it completes the whole warm package. The pockets are zippered, and fleece lined and there is an inside pocket as well. The length is perfect, hitting below mid thigh, and in the mineshaft color it is very professional. This is my First Columbia purchase and they did not disappoint. I will be back for more.

Rated 5 out of 5 by jme1231 from Exactly what I was looking for!! I read all the reviews and was a little uncertain what size to order. I ended up with a small and it is perfect. I am 5'4' about 135 pounds and I'm glad I got the small. It hits me about mid calf and is fitted around the waist but not too tight. I can definitely wear a sweater underneath and it not be too tight. I bought the coat because I frequently travel to Chicago and last winter I decided I needed something more. I have not had a chance to really try out the function because the weather has been so warm and I haven't made a trip to Chicago yet this winter but I expect it will meet my needs given my husband has an omni heat coat and he loves it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Vvian from Warm, light but huge There are conflicting reviews about the size but I trusted Beccy and ordered an XS and glad I did. My exact size=170cm,52kg (and I'm well portioned, no big hips or upper body). Even when I wear it on top of a sweater stiillll there is room (both in chest and waist) to move freely or for layering, or both. I was afraid that sleeves could be short for me in XS, but it's not it's perfect. Nice it forms a curvature on sides of waist, but it doesnt fit tight, this is a winter jacket after all. It's kneecap long. It is really light. It's not that cold yet in Ithaca but gets really cold during winter with windchill. I will review this comment if turns out wrong, but, my feeling is that this coat can keep me warm. I like the omni-heat layer. My ideal indoor temprature is 22C. I ordered a purple dahlia but comfort cuffs are grey in my coat, not like in the picture. It doesnt matter for me but maybe it does for other people. I dont like velcro, easy to close but sticks and damages my scarfs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Tiguana from Excellent winter jacket!! This coat is perfect for the winter wonderland that comprises freezing winds and deep snow. Both for the warmer winter days of 0 degrees Celsius and -30. I was comfortable in both temperatures. Best of all I managed to fit a baby in a carrier inside the jacket and we still remained comfortable without overheating. I would rather have buttons than velcro though which is why I downgraded the quality. Also, the zipper sticks. I put a belt on this jacket to accentuate the waste and improve the blahs of the modern fit. I'm outside for a walk daily with the puppy not because I'm a thrill-seeker :p also, my ideal indoor temperature is around 22 degrees Celsius. I'm 5'9" and 130ish lbs.

Rated 5 out of 5 by 06krilew from Love the fit! I love extra long coats so this one is perfect. I am 5'4 so it hits about mid calf. Saw it runs large so I ordered a size down and it fits perfectly. Love how it is so warm yet feels really light & not bulky.

Rated 5 out of 5 by tiny88 from Runs LARGE but worth it I initially ordered the S after trying on a similar coat at the Columbia outlet, however, I definitely needed an XS with this coat. It does run large. I am 5'1 105lbs for reference. Even the XS is slightly big, but not overly big like the small was, plus this allows for layering. Everything about this coat hit my must have list, fleece pockets, warmth, water resistance, and the cuff liners. Definitely recommend.

Rated 3 out of 5 by AKDC from Seemed warm but didn't like style I bought this coat for urban commuting purposes in anticipation of another frigid winter this year. I had high hopes for this coat but ended up returning it. First, in terms of size, I found that the coat runs true to Columbia's sizing. According to the size chart, I needed a small, and it fit perfectly - enough room for warm winter clothes underneath without being too big. Second, regarding performance, I don't know. I didn't try it in winter weather, so I don't know how it will perform. It seemed like it would be very warm, although I was disappointed that the coat doesn't use down with higher fill power like some other brands' coats that use 650 and up (to achieve lighter-weight warmth). Lastly, the reason I returned it is because I found the style relatively unflattering and didn't like the curved hemline. I really liked the fur-trimmed hood, the length (I'm almost 5'8" and it came to my knees, long enough to provide substantial coverage and warmth without being like a sleeping bag), and other smart details about the coat (comfort cuffs, interior pocket, etc.). However, I thought the angled channels for the down would make the coat more flattering than it actually is, and I really didn't like the odd curved hemline that is shorter on the sides than it is in the front and back. Not sure the purpose of this. It looks like something from the '70s to me. I generally love Columbia products, but sorry to say I couldn't keep this one. Happily, though, Columbia service was very good and being able to return it to a nearby outlet store was very convenient.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Beccy from Warm but HUGE I am pretty small framed, 5' 7", 120LBs. I ordered a small because that's what I usually get in coats/jackets and I wanted to be able to wear a sweater or two underneath. When I received the coat and tried it on, it was huuuuuge! Very very warm but I suggest sizing down. I had to return it and will be ordering an XS.
