Rated 4 out of 5 by Erin2012 from Super light weight and functional! Perfect if you want something to perform like thermal underwear but not as bulky and thick. Should not be worn as pants though. Definitely a liner for warmth.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Debonair from An unsuccessful marriage between athleisure and tactical design I am 5'3" and wight 113 lbs so I purchased a Small. The material does not stretch very much, runs tight around the calves, and loose in the crotch. The tightness in the calves combined with the lack of stretch prevents you from pulling up the tights high enough to avoid the sag in the crotch. I purchased these pants with the intention to wear them as a ski layer so I tested a pair of thermals underneath. A light weight thermal does fit under this tight, but just barely. The top of the pants are loose enough to let you squat, but then the pants (1) start to sag in the crotch and drop from your waist and (2) begins constricting your calves and knees. I'm looking for tactical ski clothes and not fashionable ski clothes, but these pants unsuccessfully tries to straddle the two categories. I will be returning this product at my own expense.

Rated 1 out of 5 by NHskier from Not all it's cracked up to be These pants fit nicely, but with the reflective inside coating, they stick to your skin when you heat up and there is not much wicking so you either sweat in them and they stick to you or they don't provide any real warmth at all. Wouldn't buy them again.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Reed1 from Not What I Expected I was expecting tights I could run in the winter. However, I received tights that are more the quality of a base layer to put under my running clothes. I definitely would not wear these as my only layer for the bottom to run or ski in.

Rated 1 out of 5 by ellelau07 from quality of product has changed I agree with MandaPanda - the tight feels plastic-like now. they did not have enough stretch in the legs and are very bunchy between the top of the leg and top waist band. I have been purchasing this tight for years and they are my 100% favorite. I just received a new pair for Christmas and they are not at all the same product that was produced prior and I terribly disappointed. they may still preform well but no longer a comfortable, well fitting base layer for me. I will no longer be a purchaser of this tight :( really really really bummed.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Happycustomer7 from Nice product I got these tights for my trip to Japan so I could stay warm up on the mountains in the cold snowy wind. Being from Florida I had to order my stuff online so I was nervous. They were great, in warmer temperatures you feel sweaty and they stick to you but they keep you comfortable in cooler conditions. I got coat hat gloves scarf with the omniheat and they pack nice and small but really keep me warm when it's cold. Runs true to size and are worth having for the occasional cold or the regular cold weather.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Plantgirl from My favorite long johns!! These are by far may favorite long johns... and that is saying a lot! I have many pairs of long johns since I spend a good portion of my time outside all year long in Wisconsin. These tights slide easily under any pair of pants! They are warm and breathe well when my activity level rises. I highly recommend them and own three pairs myself! Two from last year and I just ordered another.

Rated 5 out of 5 by BellarigatoniCO from Great baselayer I wore this for the first time this morning in 20F weather! I was fairly warm (probably would be warmer if don't wear under denim jeans). They are a little long for a short person. The XS fits a petite women great! The omni-heat is really nice. Where was this baselayer when I was a kid??? I'm hoping when I pair with fleece and snowpants I'll be super toasty when I go snowshoeing this winter.

Rated 1 out of 5 by papp from So big pant I felt really sad when I received this pant because it runs like 3 sizes bigger. I had to try to sell it because I beleive I might be XS on this style and there is no stock for this size. I bought M because that is my size on regular pants. I cannot write about quality because I couldn`t use it.

Rated 1 out of 5 by MandaPanda from This is not a tight! These say they are a tight, but they fit like a weird plastic-y thin pant. I usually wear a size 8 and tried a medium. They have no stretch, so they bunch up instead of being form-fitting, and are suuuuper unflattering. Can't see how you would comfortably wear them as a base layer under another layer if they were all bunchy. I ordered them at the same time as a friend on her recommendation, but when she got hers she informed me that something changed in the material from a few years ago and she is returning hers too. NOT worth the price at all. Can't comment on function because I didn't wear them out.

Rated 5 out of 5 by melvapo from Perfect first layer I went to ski at Bariloche. Used this pant and the WOMEN’S BUGABOO™ PANT (not the one that is insulated) and it was enough for keeping me warm and dry for ours while skiing or playing in the snow. Totally recommended!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Jeanne56 from Should be great in the winter I was expecting fabric like active wear, but this exterior fabric is closer to cuddle duds. It doesn't stretch as much as active wear. The sizing was slightly large, so instead of my normal large I kept the med. I have had omni heat in other clothing and like it, so I'm sure I will like it in pants.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CastleCreek from Best for cold temperatures I wear Columbia Omni-Heat for cold weather outdoor activities, these bottoms are my last piece. My legs warm quite rapidly once I start running, even in 0-degree weather with wind. When I say they run a little small, it's just because these don't stretch as much as non-Omni-Heat tights do.

Rated 5 out of 5 by mikaykay from Absolutely great Great product kept me warm, was light weight and stretchy. Love the omni heat tech thing Columbia has (silvery material on the inside). Was never itchy in the sense where sometimes leggings type clothing that are moisture whicking makes the back of my thighs itch. This was still moisture whicking for sports but it never made me itch. It kept me incredibly warm while i was skiing. I ordered it in large - when i really needed a medium just in case but this time i'm going to order a medium!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kasi from Great products I love wearing this long underwear, my 2nd pair but am disappointed that I can't just wash them with my similar colors. I have been hand washing because the directions say to use cold water. I also want to strongly suggest that you start making various pants in a size 0 instead of only a 2, 2's are too big but I love your pants and all your products that fit me. Keep up the good work.

Rated 1 out of 5 by TeKa from Not your best option I bought these pants last winter and used it last year and this year, and it is a frustration every time. Their quality is great, and they do keep you warm when it's very cold. But they don't fit well, and keep on sliding down every time I move or walk or sit down or stand up... It's such a hassle to pull them back up every time, especially when I wear them under pants or other leggings. It's not a matter of size, it's probably the fabric it's made of, as it doesn't stretch or fit your form in any way, and isn't flexible to move around.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Xti7 from Poor quality compared to previous versions I bought these (midweight base layer tight) as well as a heavy weight tight several years ago. They quickly became my year-round go-to base layer for both urban and mountain use. They were comfortable, with a slight stretch, and super warm. I literally wear them every day in winter. I just bought 2 pair of this year's midweight tight (April 2015), and after trying them on, I am returning them. The material is flimsy, with no give in places and baggy in others. The old material has been replaced by something cheaper and less moveable. They are smaller cut with no stretch, and the waistband is flimsy and doesn't hold. If you've never had the previous style with the better material, you may like these. If you're looking to replace the old reliable ones you've been wearing for a few years, look somewhere else.

Rated 5 out of 5 by BikerGrrrl from Great for layering under active wear I bought these to wear under my lighter-weight running tights in the winter. They are as warm or warmer than warmer tights made for this purpose. At 19 F (feels like 6) I didn't end up with any noticeably cold skin. They are a good fit and really no complaints, they went perfectly under my spandex tights without any bunching. *Although I would personally prefer a little spandex all over the top instead of just an elastic waistband. Not a "compression garment" tightness, but a snugger/stretchy fit.*

Rated 5 out of 5 by DubBeaMama from Warm and Comfy What more can you ask for than for your longjohns to be warm and comfy?! They are so comfortable that I forget I am wearing them, and they have gotten me through the winter keeping me plenty warm on some very cold days (coldest I was in was about 20 degrees + wind). I also got the matching shirt, which is great as well. I highly recommend these as a great baselayer.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Krexx from 2 years old and still going strong I bought this item 2 winters ago and they have been through it all (some reviews have said it has changed over the years, but going off of the same model two years ago they are great). I use them for all seasons, they are the warmest leggings I own and I use them layered in the winter, by themselves in all other seasons. I paddle so in the summer I even use these as insulation under my splash pants in cold rivers. They have taken some pretty rough falls while rock climbing and I have yet to get a hole or snag in them. The only downfall is since it is a thick material they tend to slide and not cling to the body as nicely as the light weight tights. Overall I would definitely recommend these to a friend..or even a foe.

Rated 4 out of 5 by JRoe from Thin but warm This item is super warm. Wore them under jeans and super thin snow pants outside (in ND snow) for over 2 hours. I could feel my legs the whole time! and I usually complain about the cold... only problem I have with it is that the waist band slips down frequently, but wearing jeans over it helped. I will probably be putting a few stripes of hot glue on the inside of the band to help them stay up. So, for me the waist was just a bit baggy. I'm 5'11" and usually wear an 11/12. And yes, they didn't cover my ankles, but that is to be expected for my hight :) Overall: great investment. I will be purchasing the base layer top next!

Rated 2 out of 5 by 0000m from liked last years baselayer better I bought this baselayer item 2 years ago and loved it. When I ordered again this year in the same size I had a difficult time pulling them up all the way. I think the sizing runs truer with this model because when I ordered a few years ago I had to return the pair I got for a smaller size than I usually wear. These bottoms are much less stretchy and not as comfortable as I expected them to be. They were strangely baggy in some areas and very tight without flex in others, the material is thick and does not adhere to the body as well. I returned them. I would not get these again but perhaps it is my disappointment that the pants I loved were modified into something that I like much less. Notably I wear these pants in the winter in urban areas in place of leggings thus allowing me to wear shorter dresses all year and still be warm. If you do not have previous expectations of these pants perhaps I would recommend them but if you are expecting them to be like the baselayer bottoms of years past then I would definitely skip out.
