Women's Mighty Lite™ Hooded Jacket - Plus Size is rated 4.3 out of 5 by 216.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this coat! I live in Indiana, and it has kept me warm, thus far. I ordered one size up, as I like extra room for my bulky sweaters. I’m very happy with my purchase and will, still continue to buy Columbia for me and my family.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love, Love, LOVE this jacket! The "Mighty Lite" Hooded Jacket is one of the best purchases I've made in a long time. It's light-weight, true to size and super comfortable. Perfect for cold rainy days. The long length is perfect for my wardrobe. I wish I had purchased two of them. I highly recommend this item. We all need one in every color!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light-weight warmth I love that that is a light-weight coat with a hood. It's my favorite winter coat. It packs well, too. Roll it into a ball and it makes a good travel pillow. Good for very cold days.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing coat I really love this coat. It fits well, the quality of the work is great. I love the lining and it really does keep me warm despite the light weight of the jacket. The only weird thing is that the hood isn't lined and there is no way to fasten it or draw it tight so it just sits on my head, not keeping my head warm and blows off easily. Still, I wouldn't give up this coat for anything. Perfect for my Colorado winters!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Thin but good I finally got a chance to wear my coat today, was -14C this morning and I was worried I'd be cold but I'm a furnace and heat up fast when walking. I was pleasantly surprised this kept me warm as all I had on was a t-shirt and thin rayon cardigan. Now, be aware, if you're always 'cold' you probably don't want this jacket. This jacket itself isn't warm, it's not down, your OWN heat REFLECTED back at you is what keeps you warm. I'm 5ft 2 and about 30 lbs overweight, this is why I'm always warm. I tried an XL in-store; it was too small, then I ordered a 2XL; it was WAY too big. This year I bought a 1X and it's just right! The sleeve length is great, which surprised me, but the pockets are about an inch too low ( they don't have a petite fit ). I would say I'm very happy with this coat, kept me warm outside and I was comfortable and not sweating when inside. P.S I don't know why the system says I received a free product, I paid for this coat. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'll Wear this all winter! A friend had this jacket and raved about it. I wanted a casual warm coat that wasn't bulky. I'm full in the hips and busty so it's a challenge to find things that fit well and comfortable. This coat is awesome. It will be my go-to this winter season. Might even order it in another color. :) (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Jacket Very happy with this jacket. It fit exactly as i hoped it would. Omni Heat in this jacket keeps me toasty warm and is seriously light weight. This is my perfect winter jacket! (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Lightweight Coat This coat is nicely fitted and I like the deep rust color. So far I've been wearing it in colder fall temps down to around 30 degrees and it is doing a good job keeping me warm. I was hoping it would work all winter on its own but am expecting to have to add another layer as temps get colder in Wisconsin this winter. Sleeves are not super roomy so my extra layer will probably have to be a vest. I'm about 5'9" and sleeves are just long enough. I think it was likely designed for temps above 20 degrees, not 20 degrees below zero. Overall I like it and have gotten compliments when I wear it.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Mighty Lite Women Jacket This is my third Mighty Lite jacket. Sadly, I am left a little disappointed this go round and not sure I will purchase another. The zipper was changed from plastic to metal and I don't particularly like it, it jams at the bottom as has since the very first time. Additionally, I think Columbia saved material as the sleeve length has been shortened compared to the past design and this is disappointing and it wears awkwardly. Body size is good and it is light and warm as they have been in the past but overall design changed made me drop from a 5 star product to a 2 star product. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Fall coat This coat is so light weight and cozy for those brisk fall mornings. This is my second time buying this jacket because I loved the first one I bought years ago so much. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Well Worth The Price! I am thrilled with my new coat. It's lightweight and functional. The length allows for free movement while keeping my upper legs warm. The reviews I'd read suggested it was running a bit small, so I ordered up a size. Although it seems a bit too large now- it will be great once winter hits and layering is necessary. I'm very pleased indeed! My only disappointment was in missing the lovely bright cherry red they had last year. That said, I`m all about navy! (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A smart investment I use public transportation daily. I needed a coat that will keep me warm and dry during those cold, wet and windy days in Wisconsin while waiting for the bus. I also did not want to feel weigh down with a heavy coat and book bag when I am trying to find a seat on a crowded bus. This coat took care of all of those issues. Thank you Columbia.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mighty Lite in Grey Ash Mighty Lite is mighty nice! I’ve worn it on some cold evenings and it is very warm! I love how soft and cuddly it is! It is like wearing a blanket without being bulky! It is very non-restrictive like some winter coats are! That probably is also due to the soft, silkiness of the fabric, and not just the light weight of it! It is also easy to slide in and out of as it doesn’t grip on to your clothes! It should come with a pouch to carry it in! I recently carried it on two flights and it was a nice little pillows when folded, just a little slippery!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from The hood. I live in Boston so the weather is so unpredictable in the Fall. I bought this coat as a fall coat. It is very lightweight and runs slightly large in my opinion. But, regardless of the sizing/fit, I am ok with it as I tend to wear layers. The color of the coat is nice and the length great for wearing skirts/dresses. My issue is the hood. There are no strings to grab the hood to your head. So if it is a windy day, the hood just falls off your head because there are no strings to secure it. Same for a rain storm. Because of the hood issues I give this 3 stars.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best coat EVER!! This coat is amazing! While the most lightweight winter jacket I’ve ever had, it is also the warmest! I bought one a couple years ago in a different color. Now, I just bought another one in black. Having the two, I will never need another winter coat! I Love the length of this coat, the weight of this coat, and the fact that it has a hood. I just can’t say enough good about this coat. I would recommend it very highly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mighty lite plus size women's jacket This is the second coat I've purchased. Loved it so much! Hard to find navy( nocturnal) coat in retail much less in plus size. I'm top heavy so coats don't fit in the chest and arms. I always have to size up. The coat is nice and warm without bulk. Even in the coldest weather, a long sleeve thermal is plenty to keep me warm. Awesome!!! thanks

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this coat I love this coat! It's super light weight and comfortable, but I know it will keep me extra warm in the winter time. I also love that it has 2 zippers, so you can unzip from the bottom making it more comfortable when you sit or drive. I wanted to get this coat last year but they didn't have my size so I am so happy I got it. Definitely would recommend this!

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice light coat, but runs small I love the colour of this coat as an alternative to black, and it is very lightweight, but the sizing is not consistent. I wear a 2x in shirts, and they are large on me but since the reviews said this coat ran small, maybe it would be ok. I couldn't even zip it up and the arms were super tight. I'm ordering a 3x because i really like the coat and I hope it'll fit. It is frustrating when different styles fit differently in the same size. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not great for extremely cold weather I bought this coat for my trip to Sapporo, Japan during the Snow Festival in Feb. The temperatures averaged in the 18-20 degrees. The jacket only kept me warm if I had several layers underneath. I thought it would have been enough with the Omni heat feature, but once the wind was blowing I was still cold. With all my layers underneath, I wasn't able to zip it all the way to cover the bottom half of my face. Also, I found the hand cuffs to fit funny. It felt too short. I purchased the beige color and it was beautiful. But I was surprised at how thin the coat is. I'm sure the jacket would Work in another setting, but it wasn't the right coat for Sapporo weather.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Long Light Coat I do find the fit a little smaller than true to size but I knew that about the products before I bought. The zipper seems to stick. Other than those the coat is very warm and light which is exactly what I wanted and I am very happy with it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it!!! This parka is exactly what I was looking for - warmth without the bulk. Really well made and still has a metal zipper unlike other brands that have gone to plastic. Happy I went up a size since it does run small. Overall a really well made product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Jacket, but Runs LARGE Great length for the winter. I really enjoy that it is light weight and does not add a lot of bulk, however I am skeptical that it will keep me warm on a really cold day in Wisconsin (since I have received the jacket it has not been really cold). The color was not as deep of a red as I was hoping for. It almost has a slight pink hue, but it is not an awful color. The zipper is a little tricky at times, but it is manageable. The thumb holes are too short for me to use, but I do like that it fits snugly around my wrists. The sizing seems to be very off. I did my measurements and ordered a 2X per the size chart. I am a curvy girl and so I was concerned about the jacket being tight across the bust and at the hips. I decided to trust the size chart and order the 2X vs the 1X my gut told be to buy. Both the hip area and bust area have TONS of extra space. Even when I wear a scarf tucked in and a bulky top the chest area is not tight. Wishing I would have ordered a smaller size, but other than that it seems like a great addition to my wardrobe!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not warm and not very dry I purchased this for a recent trip to Iceland. I thought with base layers it would keep me warm and dry. Wrong on both counts. The temps were from the 20s to low 30s, with lots of rain, sleet and snow. I wore a silk base layer along with a merino wool base layer and a down vest under the coat but was cold all the time. The rain resistant feature lasted for about 10 minutes before it soaked up. The hood is large and the wind repeatedly blew it off, so I wore a hat and scarf too. I wish I had bought a regular parka instead. Apparently this coat is no longer made, which is a good thing. The color, however, (camellia red) is gorgeous.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Gorgeous in red I bought this in a 2x instead of the 1x that I normally wear due to reviews. For me, it fit well going up a size. Love everything about this jacket. I live in Chicago and use this jacket when it is in the mid to upper 30s. For cold weather I wear an Eddie Bauer down coat, but this one is perfect for the warmer Chicago winter days. Love the styling, and of course the bright red color. I got it on sale for $119 right after Christmas.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light as a feather! I love this coat. Didn't need another coat, but saw this on sale and had to try it on and loved it. The styling is perfect for me! I wear 3X and am 5'10". I hope Columbia keeps adding more plus sizes! I like the longer length and the 2 way zipper. The sleeves are long enough, but as others have said, the forearm area is a bit snug, and the thumb holes don't work for me. I do like the soft fabric in that area. With that said, I did find that the sleeves don't have the silver dots and I could feel cold there when the torso was toasty warm. The coat is light as a feather and easy to wear.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from First order from Columbia and disappointed The true to size rating provided above is based on the width of the coat. The length of the coat is much shorter than how it appears on the website. I am a larger size (2X) and it came to top of my thighs. I also do not agree with the temperature rating of the coat and would not recommend for winter but only for a warm fall day. It also appears much thicker/heavier on the website than what it actually is.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from not warm enough I bought it as a gift for my mom who wanted a light but warm jacket. We went to Santa Clause parade in December when temperature was 4 celcius below zero with a fleece top underneathe and another light layer as base. It felt freezing for just half an hour hanging out there. Considering the price, It would have been a wonderful jacket if it had some sort of lining wheather light fleece or some down. The jacket is very light good for overall water proof fall or spring. Also, it is tricky. to zip. Basically it has the reflective Omni Heat which I had in other products like the whirlbird glove that doesnt work well for lower than 7 celcius below zero, and the nylon outer shell. It came in a tiny package. When worn it looks elegant..

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Extremely light weight yet warm! I love this coat so much I actually bought 2, one in the white color and one called Mineshaft (a dark gold beige tan color). The sleeves are nice and long as is the overall length. This coat is practically weightless so it's very comfortable to wear, yet it keeps you warm. The lining is the silver dots and they do work - they hold in your body heat. The hood needs to be bigger....I don't use the hood often but when I do, it needs to be much larger and come forward......the sleeves could have been a bit wider to accommodate a bulky sweater underneath, but I have been wearing both coats and loving them. The one thing I don't care for it the thumb holes in the sleeve lining, I guess many people like this, but to me it's just dumb. I have to always sew this closed. I went up a size.....this coat runs small.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Mighty Lite Omni 3/4 Jacket I bought this jacket 6 years ago. I have tried to get it in purple in 3X. I don't want any other jacket because this model style etc. is more than excellent. I am in my 70's, need a light but warm coat and this one has served me well. Need a new one as I've worn this one year round. Still in great shape but getting dog-eared on sleeves and edges.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Light and toasty I love my new jacket, I probably should've went with a size down but still very comfortable and so warm. Nice and light but keeps you warm like a parka. I'm really pleased with my purchase. Thanks for keeping me warm this winter! :)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE JACKET Size is off though! I absolutely love this jacket. I always run warm. This jacket is perfect for that. I stay warm but am not sweating the second I put it on. When it gets too cold I layer a fleece under it and it's perfect. My only problem with this jacket was the sizing. Most of the reviews I read were that this jacket ran a tad small. I'm in-between sizes so I decided to order a size up. The jacket was so big I could have zipped a child into the jacket with me. I ordered the size down and it fits better but is still slightly big. I would recommend this jacket to anyone but DO NOT order a size up!!!!!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and Cozy I am so pleased with this coat. I wanted to spruce up my winter coat wardrobe and this has done the trick. I purchased a 2X. I love the 2 way zipper and the non-bulky design. It's been keeping me warm when the east wind howls!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Warm and light I love this coat it's very light but very warm, it's great for urban winter where you outside under 30 minutes but if your into winter activities i would go to a heavy duty parka, i bought the red so when i walk to the parking lot in the evening other drivers can see me, for plus size girls like me it's stylish and functional, thanks Columbia for expanding your market to plus sizes for women, the price is great, and the quality is outstanding, the zip is heavy duty and zips up smoothly, the sleeves have a hole for the thumb so your sleeves do not pull up when wearing gloves, the pockets are deep and zip up for your cell phone or keys, so the extra features are great, i recommend this coat as a great buy.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too big. I ordered big because the literature says it runs small. By the time I went back to reorder the size I wanted (2X) it wasn't available in Nocturnal Blue. Very disappointed in that. A friend has the coat and likes it very much.
Date published: 2016-12-28
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good for weather down to about 20 Degrees F I bought the coat as I get tired of lugging around a bulky coat and / or layers. I live and work near the IL / WI border. When the temp dropped (unusual for this time of yr) to below 10degrees, I was able to test it quickly. With the usual scarf, hat and gloves, I was ok but it definitely let some of the cold in. I think it depends on your tolerance of cold as to what you want from this. Most of the winter we are looking at 20s and 30s and I think it will be fine for that. I ordered a plus size, 3x, because it saw it ran small. I'm about a 22/24 top and it just fits. The thumb holes tug and the inserts holding that in aren't quite long enough. Don't let any of this deter you from the coat as far as quality. Columbia is a champ when it comes to coats and I'm a bit of a whiner when its cold. The coat is made of great material and is solidly manufactured. I just think I found its limitations quickly. If it helps anyone, I'm 5'10", size 22/24 top, and obviously a big lady. The coat falls just below my hips and I'm long in the torso.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fabulous jacket! It is so light and so warm! I didn't think I would care about it being waterproof, but we've been having weird weather lately, from cold temperatures to rain within hours. This coat is rainproof in a heavy downpour -- even the hood. I like the length, because it keeps me warm in the car on cold days. As other reviewers have said, the jacket fits amlittle small, so I went up a size and it is just right. It would be. Ice of the hood had a drawstring or something to keep it on during windy weather. But the warmth is amazing in such a lightweight coat. I was comfortable at -15 C. And the colour choice is a treat!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product is a good investment I love this coat it is the best investment I have done. It is true to its name: the coat is very very warm. it is also very lite but don't let that fool you it will keep you very warm. It is true to its size I got a 3x and it fits perfect a bit snugglly around the arms but that's if you wear a sweater underneath, I sometimes do, but you still have room to move your arms around. I love this coat so much that I an going to get my granddaughter one. Thank you Colombia great coats.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Jacket! I can't believe how light-weight, yet warm this jacket is! Incredible. I did order a size up because the reviews said that it ran small. I wish I had ordered my correct size as it is a bit big on me. I was also worried it was going to be 'puffy' and I didn't need to look any puffier than I already do! It isn't puffy at all. I would buy this jacket in a shorter style or different color, that is how much I love it. The thumb holes are also an amazing add-on!
