Great boot
I bought these boots for a trip to Alaska and they did not disappoint. They were very comfortable right out of the box! The only thing I did before packing was to try on for size. I also wore them to two very rainy football games and came away with completely dry feet.

Extremely Comfortable and No Breakin Needed
I bought these for a trip to Idaho. They didn't need "breaking in". They are extremely comfortable and warm. I was outside for hours in 21 degree weather and with wool socks they were perfect. They are very light, I was afraid they would be heavy and feel bulky but they didn't and my feet never felt tired or sore from wearing new boots.

Great product!
Love these boots for long and difficult hikes. I got a half size bigger because I do this with all boots for when your feet swell on long hikes. Im not sure I needed to do that. A bit too much room so need to wear think socks but otherwise I really like the construction.

Love these shoes!
I bought these shoes to go hiking and to ride ATV's and they worked great. They really are waterproof and kept my feet warm. They are pretty slip resistant except for when I was climbing to the top of a waterfall they didn't do well on the wet slippery rocks but that's the only complaint I have. Very comfortable and true to size.

Warm and waterproof!

So comfortable!
I wore these on a hike the day after I received them. I didn’t have time to break them in. They were so comfortable and didn’t leave me with any blisters. I hiked mostly uphill for about 5-6 hours as well! I wore my normal wool socks and they were not too snug. I got my regular size. I have the gray color and they go with everything I have.

Appropriate for outdoor work
Bought these to wear in the barn, after purchasing a pair of hiking shoes from Columbia. Both pairs have comfortable fit and no blistering.
They recommended to order a half size up, and it's good advice. I can double up socks for warmth and still no pinching. I also work around 10 hours/day and no fatigue. Worth every penny!

DO NOT BUY THESE SHOES
Do NOT buy these shoes if you value your safety!!! I have fallen THREE TIMES from the laces getting caught in these unnecessary pegs and have torn both of my knees open. They are gray for comfort but SOMETHING needs to be done about the safety of WALKING IN THEM!!

Comfort is the key
My wife was looking for a new pair of snow boots to replace her #15 year old ones. After trying on multiple types and styles from a number of manufacturers, she choose the Columbia Women's Newton Ridge waterproof hiking boots because of comfort and the overall quality of the shoe. The fact that they were light weight also sold her. She did replace the insert with one having a more pronounced arch, but wears these on local hikes and loves them. Can't wait for the snow to give them a prolonged workout.

Only get if you plan to not hike wet
I took these shoes spelunking and boy were they slippery. It did not provide good traction when the rocks were wet. I almost fell several times.
I also took them recently on a 4 mile hike. I definitely feel as though there could be more cushioning in these shoes. I feel like i would have been better off with my running shoes.

Sturdy Boot
I like that these are stylish and functional. I had issues with rubbing and blisters on my pinky toes, but that could be from a lack of proper hiking socks. My feet never got cold or achy though, nor did they slip. They held up well against miles of different terrain during their first few uses. Extreme hikers may need something more advanced, but these will certainly do the job for moderate/semi-strenuous hikes. And they look nice!

Ordered this boot to use on a trip to Switzerland for light hiking and walking. I liked the boot, especially the styling and color but it was too narrow with my orthodic and hiking socks. Had Ordered the usual 10.5 to accomodate but still too narrow. Had to upsize to an 11. Yikes! Unfortunately, due to timing I had to buy locally to meet my traveling deadline.

Just What I've Been Looking For!!
After reading other reviews, I took a chance on these. I need a waterproof, lightweight, comfortable and decent looking pair of boots for long hours of motorcycle riding and visiting National Parks.
I read that some say these boots need broken in. I wore them to work for a trial run. After 10 hours on my feet, they still felt great!
I also ordered my normal shoe size. I have room to wear a thick pair of socks, but they don't slip with thin ankle socks.
I also like the look of these boots!! Most of my wardrobe is black and grey, so the color is perfect.

bought these for my alaskan cruise haven’t gone yet but wore them around couple times in rain to break in...first of all they’re so comfortable they do not need breaking in and so far they’ve stood up to the light rain and walking through puddles on purpose with no soak through ... my husband who i think does not even notice my new stuff lol commented how great they look on me! would have given five stars for functionality but haven’t used them yet for hiking or alaskan excursions but confident these are definitely going to work great...will update on functionality on my return otherwise definitely recommend 100 percent.

Amazing shoes, I love the look and color of these, I took these hiking after a nice rain and mud so thick you could slide down a hill. They held up nice and my feet stayed dry.
