OutDry™ Extreme is our first ever waterproof and breathable fabric technology constructed with a waterproof layer on the outside and soft, wicking fabric inside. Traditional raingear uses interior waterproof membranes which don't allow for air flow, and water-repellent coating that degrades over time. With OutDry™ Extreme, the rugged exterior is an incredibly water-tight membrane with millions of microscopic perforations that let water vapor escape through a wicking membrane directly fused to the shell.

Part of the Titanium line, this fully seam sealed down jacket solves all your problems: it's exceptionally warm without being heavy or bulky, and it's as waterproof-breathable as it gets. We combined 800-fill power goose down insulation that's been treated for water resistance with our innovative OutDry™ Extreme technology, the first-ever waterproof and breathable fabric constructed with a rugged, long-lasting waterproof layer on the outside and soft, wicking fabric inside. Finally, a waterproof, down-insulated rain jacket. This cold and wet stopping coat features 2-way pit vents, a 2-way front zipper, contoured cuffs for better coverage at top of hand, and a snap-back powder skirt to seal out wayward snow on those super deep days.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from CHI KUONG It is a good product, but the size is not fit for me.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Returning I should have listened to the other reviewers. The color is a weird brown/black shade - despite being a marketed black. For being a pricey jacket, I thought it would feel much warmer than it does. The hood is quite loose and I can't imagine it staying up well. I ended up ordering the mighty lite hybrid and that's what I'm going to keep.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Awesome I love the lightness of this jacket. It’s very warm and looks nice. 4 stars because it shows black color online but it’s actually a graphite or dark greyish. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Black is not black I have wanted an insulated/out-dry coat for a couple years now and finally decided to go-for-it. A warm coat for pouring rain - such as while watching fall soccer games. Except the black coat I ordered online is really a gray/brown and not a nice gray or a rich brown. Certainly not black. The coat fits well and is surprisingly lightweight. Not quite as large as some other Columbia coats I own (which are a tad big on me), but still fits well. The cut is boxy, so if you have a bit around the belly, this coat will accommodate that easily. If you don't, people may think you do while wearing this coat. The other off-putting item is the bright red and white "OutDry" label on the sleeve. It's stop-sign attention getting. Combine that with the not-black color and this "black" coat had to be returned. As functional and practical as it is.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from not what i expected I live in a remote community in northwestern Ontario and I was walking outside with this jacket on with a t-shirt under and I was cold. I believe the temp was about -20 with no wind-chill. I was also walking in about -5 with a strong wind-chill and I was cold as well. The jacket is light but it is not BLACK its GREY! medium gray colour, no where close to black!. The jacket is smaller in the bust and larger in the hips then the measurements. I would not personally recommend this jacket to anyone except somewhere with a climate no colder the -5C degrees (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Made it thru the nor easter! Wow. Absolutely wind, sand and rain proof as tested by me on Hampton Beach NH in 50+mph winds during a major storm yesterday. The only thing I would try to improve on is the cinching down of the hood. Since I wasn’t wearing a ski helmet, I had trouble keeping it on me in the wind. But, overall, I could not have been happier with its performance. Worth every penny.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Toasty Warm I invested in this jacket because I am a supply teacher and I live in a rural area. I am outdoors frequently and many schools are in open areas. I was able to test out the product when the weather turned and it was -25 C. I had layers on, t-shirt, zip-up long sleeve and my jacket. I used the windskirt (wish was a little tighter) and the hood. I was super warm and comfortable while out on the tarmac at recess. I love the length! It's not too long and not too short. It does have a double zipper for when you sit in your car. Loving this jacket! (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great jacket I'm a true size large, but when it came in it was way too big. Exchanged it for a medium and it's a perfect fit. I'm 5'10 and the length of the back and arms are great and it makes a flattering silhouette. The jacket is very waterproof. I've even skied with it in the rain! The only slight issue is that I thought it would be a bit more windproof. Overall great jacket, light, comfy and waterproof :) (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Rain Jacket, Just not for me! I basically loved this jacket. It was everything I was looking for. It was a cool cooler, waterproof, adjustable hood, had some length and had some warmth. Unfortunately between my build (short and stocky) the cut and length of the coat (straight and hit me mid thigh) and the fact that I would have it zipped sitting/driving a lot, there was too much pressure on the zipper. With those factors it became clear it just isn’t the right style for me. It would be ideal for someone more height/weight proportionate. Basically someone more on the thin side, that the coat hits hi thigh otherwise I predict potential zipper issues. Nice, warm, down, waterproof coat!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from The Best Ski/Winter jacket I have ever owned!!! I live in Wisconsin, where the weather can be highly variable within winter. I have worn this jacket under all conditions ranging from snow to sleet to freezing rain. We live in a rural area, and I am outside every day down to zero degrees Fahrenheit. The best test for this jacket was when I was snow blowing the driveway and clearing snow in 15 degree weather with sleet, snow, freezing rain, and 35 mile per hour winds for 3 hours. It is absolutely waterproof and windproof. I love well-designed and well-engineered products. This is a jacket that I love! Particularly, the heat seal technology they use to separate the pouches of down in the jacket. With no stitching, that means no wind or moisture can get through tiny little stitch holes. My husband and I ski, snowshoe, and are active nearly 365 days per year. I rarely write reviews, but I had to write one for this jacket. It is awesome! When the temperatures dip down below about 15 degrees, I pair it with a down vest underneath. This is great down to about zero degrees. I have owned several high-end winter/ ski jackets from various manufacturers over the years, and I can honestly say this is the best one I have ever owned. I bought it full price and it was well worth the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Had to share!! I wore this jacket up to the mountain for a day of skiing and had to share my experience. This jacket was perfect for a fun day filled with snow and occasional rain. Wore it all day in below freezing weather with some wind and rain mixed in with that and could've stayed on the slopes for hours if it weren't for getting hungry for some lunch. :) TOP 4 FAVORITE FEATURES: 1. zipper without velcro flap- this is a huge plus for me as the velcro flap on some coats gets stuck on my under layering pieces (Snags sweaters, pills my fleece, etc) GREAT TO FIND ONE WITHOUT 2. lightweight but still WARM- love that the technology in this jacket allows for me to be warm without feeling like a restricted marshmallow! definitely keeps heat in without extra ounces weighing me down 3. versatility- many jackets I consider to be my "Ski jacket" I cannot wear on casual days. This jacket is lightweight, neutral, and I am able to run around in it on my city days to and from work/workouts/errands/etc 4. waterproof- I know I touched on this earlier but I think it is extremely important when a down filled jacket also serves the purpose of being a rain jacket. was able to wear this in rain without it soaking thru and ruining my time up at the mountain- so hard to find these days! Very happy with my purchase. I hope they come out with more colors when I am ready for another one. :)
