Women’s OutDry™ Hybrid Jacket - Plus Size is rated out of 5 by 15.
Rated 5 out of 5 by LaPrima from Fit for purpose from a Seamstress Generously semi fitted for active and casual. Anorak style is aesthetically pleasing as well as functional. The overall lengths of high/low (front and back lengths) is ideal for most women's height .Arm length is generous but has a Velcro adjustment on the cuffs. The hood is also adjustable ...these features are terrific!!! I have been most impressed with this jacket! And with the light weighted durable material! It will last me for years with usage of 9 months out of the year!

Rated 5 out of 5 by BlondeLe from Keeps me dry Needed a jacket to keep me dry in these Oregon winter downpours. I ordered a larger size than necessary based on the reviews I read. Glad I did. This jacket exceeds my expectations for keeping me dry. I stay dry and I don’t get clammy. Since I have to walk my dog several miles a day, this is the first winter I’m not dreading having to go out. Thank you Columbia Sportswear for making this jacket!

Rated 4 out of 5 by LBabs from Great coat, different color. I bought this as a hard shell for winter biking. Cuts the wind well and blocks rain/snow very well. Seems to be a high quality coat. Only issue is I ordered the red coat with maroon sleeves pictured in the ad and received a red coat with light gray sleeves. Not a deal breaker but it does not look at nice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Daisirunner2 from Hybrid Jacket This jacket is awesome! It keeps you warm when it’s cold outside and allows you to remain cool when it’s warm/humid outside! The fit is perfect and it’s light as a feather, weight-wise. I’m totally happy with this purchase!

Rated 3 out of 5 by SuzNKton from Waiting to fully try it out The jacket seems very flimsy for the price. I love the design aspects of it, so I am hoping that it does what it is supposed to do. But my initial reaction is that it seems very flimsy. Not what I had expected. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by SMSullivan from Great Jacket for a downpour I purchased this jacket to keep me dry on my morning walks. It does exactly what I want! I was walking and got caught in a downpour and my clothes stayed dry! Worth every penny. now if they only made them for dogs! I did buy a size larger thinking with clothes underneath it would be a good fit, it actually runs a little bit big, but the extra space is actually nice. The jacket does make noise, but after a day or two you don't really hear it anymore.

Rated 5 out of 5 by HungryBoots from Fantastic Jacket I bought this coat for a fall trip to Iceland - thanks to Hurricane Florence I've had a chance to test it THOROUGHLY ahead of time. This is very well designed, and has kept me dry outdoors for 3 days of high winds, and nearly horizontal rain. The fit is generous enough to wear layers under, even if you're at the larger end of its sizing range per the chart. This is a rain jacket, it's not insulated! I'd just about kiss the person that thought up the velcro adjustment strap on the back of the hood - that's genius. If I had to make a suggestion on this really solid product, it would be to add those little cinching toggles to the hood. You can tighten the hood but it will loosen after a bit. 10/10 - would recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by BigHappy5 from Pleased I bought this jacket for a hiking trip in Ireland. I love the zippers for ventilation under the arm pits, and I love that it fit me while I had a very small day pack on UNDER the jacket! There were several days of intense rain as we hiked. A hurricane happened off coast and the remnants came to shore on my visit. This jacket kept me dry as can be. I am 5'9" and 265. I carry my wait in my hips and belly. I ordered the 3x and it fits to my liking.

Rated 5 out of 5 by juveyrn3 from Excellent rain jacket I was a little worried the jacket would run small as several I had tried in the store did, however this was a perfect fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by oduckfan from Come at me rain! Thank goodness these are back in plus sizes! I owned two of these jackets from a few years ago, but ripped one of them in a band equipment mishap while doing volunteer work for a local HS marching band. Speaking of which, my real life story on Out-Dry involves standing and walking outside, in the rain for 12+ hours, putting up tents, hauling equipment to/from the performance and warm-up areas and then tearing down the camp to head home. Most volunteers had to sit in their cars between work assignments in order to stay somewhat dry. Not me! I was out in the rain, in my faboo Out-Dry jacket, Omni-tech rain pants, and Out-Dry shoes for over 12 hours at Hillsboro Stadium and that's not hyperbole. When I got home (well after midnight after unloading the trucks back at the high school), everything I was wearing under the Out-Dry was still dry as a bone. I cannot say enough good things about functionality of this jacket and don't even get me started on the pit zippers that keep my largeness from getting overheated. LOVE! Yes, I agree somewhat with the other posters regarding the fit, finish and fabrication of this particular jacket. This one is a bit more flimsy than the Out-Dry I purchased two years ago, but beggars cannot be choosers in this case. I thank Columbia with all my heart for bringing this technology to Plus sized women. Yes, I'd love it if we had some Out-Dry choices (with and without Omniheat, for example), but considering that there are no other companies that provide this level of clothing technology to plus sized women, color me eternally grateful.

Rated 5 out of 5 by KJ44 from excellent rain shell This jacket is the rain shell that I wanted for hiking and backpacking. I wanted something that was super light weight, wasn't lined, had pit zips, a good hood, was waterproof, yet breathable (since I was going to be hiking in it). This fits those requirements. My only complaint is that the sleeves are a tad long and I wish the velcro strap around the wrist allowed it to clamp down just a little bit more, but I did order a size up so I'd have room to layer and have it be loose fitting (which it is). I also have a lot of extra space in the upper arms (unlike another reviewer) to the point where it is creeping into too much extra space. In other words, I'd say the torso portion of the jacket is true to size (vis-a-vis other Columbia jackets at least, which I think tend to be a little small comparatively), but the arms run a little large. I got the blue sky/white combo and really like it. I also like that I can mostly see from side to side with the hood up even without using the little adjuster (I'm not sure why another reviewer said the hood isn't adjustable, because it is). For those of you debating between this jacket and the Evolution Valley (as I was), this one doesn't have any netting or other liner on the inside (which I prefer) and has a better hood (the one on the EV came all the way over my head to my collarbone). I also thought the blue with white sleeves was a little more flattering, but I will say I thought the fabric on the Evolution Valley jacket was really good looking, so if you want a more substantial jacket (maybe even as a shell for winter use) and are okay with a heavier weight then the EV is worth considering. For me, the Outdry Hybrid better met my needs for a hiking rain jacket.

Rated 3 out of 5 by PacificNorthwestShopper from Great concept, unfortunately not as great in person I have had really good luck with the plus size Outdry jackets a nd the Ex Gold down jacket is my favorite jacket in recent memory. I think this jacket just doesn't meet the quality, fit, and finish standards put forth by those past products. The jacket feels and looks a bit cheap and flimsy. I had concerns about how good the Outdry fabric would look meeting up with the regular Arcadia fabric and the two fabrics don't create an attractive product, at least in the black color. It's worth mentioning that the Outdry fabric is not black, but more like a charcoal. I think the idea of using the Outdry on the hood, shoulders, and arms made perfect sense and I do appreciate the lower price point compared to the price of the full Outdry jackets. This jacket also runs small in the upper arms and shoulders and would not allow me to layer. I really wanted to like this jacket but, sadly, will be returning it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by ohgee from womens plus out dry hybrid jacket Although it's a bit thicker than the Arcadia jacket and keeps you dryer it's a bit flimsy for the price. There is nothing there to keep the hood on like a little hook or clasp. I if the weather is raining and windy the hood will not stay on. I believe most of your jackets as well as the Arcadia jacket which should be made a bit better for the price and better waterproofing it's not totally waterproof.water still gets in. The rain jackets should be made of a better material where no water pent rates no matter what level of rain life belts at you. Something to think abou.
