Rated 5 out of 5 by FLRoadrunner from Gardening, Hiking or Beach I picked up these pants at our local Columbia outlet. I have used them for gardening (lots of stretching and bending), hiking and walking on the beach (being able to convert to shorts is a major plus). They are very comfortable and have plenty of pockets for stashing stuff. They wash up well and dry extremely fast. The only downside, is the snap closure at the waist (instead of a button) will sometimes come undone when doing a lot of bending.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Scoutattack from A little snug The pants fit ok for the size medium I ordered, but were a little snug in the thigh and short in the inseam as I am 5'9''.

Rated 5 out of 5 by AlovesF from PFG Aruba Convertible Pant Despite the fact they fit a little big these pants are very comfortable on long hikes and convert so easily into shorts when the weather warms up. Love the material. Durable, yet lightweight and functional.

Rated 5 out of 5 by camach from Great Convertible Pants I believe these run true to size. I am 5 foot and weigh 101 pounds. I purchased these pants in an XS which on me is roomy and I did have them taken up. This is typical as I am so small. Material is wonderful with some stretch and will wash and dry quickly overnight and are mostly wrinkle free. Overall a great purchase for traveling.

Rated 3 out of 5 by NaplesFox from Women’s PFG Aruba™ Roll Up Pant I have a difficult time finding the right fit with Columbia clothing. Great variation between size from medium to large. Would not recommend purchasing unless you are able to try them on first in a store.

Rated 5 out of 5 by BobsYourUncle from Great multi-purpose pants I started off buying just one pair of these pants based upon the reviews regarding sizing. But I found them to fit very true to size and they are extremely comfortable. These are great for hiking, kayaking or running errands. The shorts are a good length and are especially nice for kayaking and keeping the sun off your upper legs. The front pockets are deep enough to hold a cell phone, though I wouldn't use them while kayaking. They wash and dry well. I liked the pants so much I bought two more pair and now have 3 total, two of the same color. I love the PFG line for my outdoor activities.

Rated 5 out of 5 by QDQD from great outdoor pants I'm very happy with the pants, especially on this summer's national park trip, where it's much cooler in the morning and evening, and warm during the day. It's easy to hand wash, and it dries fast. highly recommended!

Rated 1 out of 5 by CarrieZed from Beware sizing & quality I have had a pair of Aruba convertible pants for years. Have an elastic waist band and are a size Medium. Can still wear but wanted another pair for traveling. Ordered the large. Could barely buttoned it and it was tighter in the hips than my medium pair! And the quality of the material is not what it used to be.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Betsy64 from Great for travel I bought these for travel. I like that they can be worn long or short. The nylon fabric washes and dries overnight.

Rated 3 out of 5 by AerobixHope from Too big and zipper uncomfortable I so wanted to like these pants. They would be perfect for hiking, but I found them too big and the zipper hits my 5'3'" frame at the wrong spot. They were so uncomfortable. I usually wear a size 6, but instructions suggested I purchase a Size 10. They were way too big. I could take them off without unbuttoning the waist button!

Rated 5 out of 5 by KK79 from Great functional durable product These pants are awesome. I love them for hiking and then being able to unzip the bottoms off when ending at the beach. They are very comfortable and light material.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Chris54 from Good but not perfect Quality is good, fabric is light and quick drying. I found the fit a bit large, would be nice if the sizes were more precise rather than small medium or large. Zippers were quite difficult to use, hard to get the bottoms off and even harder to reattach them.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Keauhou from Fit really off! I usually wear a medium, but ordered a size large, which was way too big in waist, hip, rear, etc. I then ordered in a medium and they were really small! The difference between the 2 sizes is huge!

Rated 5 out of 5 by MaB618 from Love the WOMEN'S PFG ARUBA™ CONVERTIBLE PANT I love everything about this pant except that it does not come in petit sizes and the regular length was way too long for my 5'4" height so I had to pay to get the legs shortened.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mich6000 from My favorite convertible pants. These pants are great. I love how the side cargo pocket and the rear pocket DO NOT have a flap lying over them. One less thing to worry about being wrinkled up and messy looking. Also one cargo pocket is enough for me, I think it makes these look more feminine. I find these pants to be very comfortable and the material softer and less course feeling than some other Aruba convertible pants I have purchased in the past. They dry fast and are ultra light feeling, so much so that sometimes I think I will end up zipping the legs off and they are so comfortable that I just forget to. When you do zip off the legs the shorts aren't too short, which I like. The length is perfect for me, I like a little longer pant, when you sit down they aren't up to your shin, I hate the high water look! I just wish they came in more colors like some of the mens pants do.

Rated 1 out of 5 by JB43 from Sizing incorrect Love these pants... Exactly what I need---quality of fabric excellent and same with function, but, alas, the sizing is completely inaccurate. I am a consistent 8 (sometimes a 6, even, depending on the pant), but these pants seem to be made for a very skinny teen who's never had children or gained an ounce. You need either to resize these pants accurately or post a disclaimer that they run VERY small in the rear and thighs...

Rated 5 out of 5 by mak14 from Great 2-in-1 Combo Sometimes during a nice earl morning spring or fall hike in the North Georgia mountains you will start off wearing pants (because it's cold), but by the end of the hike you wish you wore shorts (because it's hot). Now, I don't have to worry about the temperature! I can start off wearing these pants then unzip the bottoms off to shorts and feel comfortable at all times. Love this 2-in-1 combo! The pants are also very good quality and fit very well. They are a little more greenish-grey than the photo looks though. I still like them, they're a great color! I wear a size 4 and the small fits perfectly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by DDTexas from pockets These pants are true to size but long. I have to roll them up but they are certainly what I wanted. The quality is good and they wash and wear well. My only true complaint is the pockets. The zipper pocket is great! The hip pockets are so shallow they are not functional. If you have a small pocket knife in them every time you sit down it falls out. Same with change. I always have change from the ice machine and it will end up in the chair you are sitting in or the bottom of the boat. I wear these about 3 to 4 times a week during Nov-Dec. Overall I love the pants and they are great fishing pants but please do something with the pockets.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Jjej22 from Not for the mature figure I bought these because something in the description made me think they fit at the waist. Not the case. They sit below like most other pants. I wish manufacturers would make pants for the mature figure, women who are older and have had children. I returned these and bought a small man's pants with elastic waist. Much better fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by KayBee1 from the material is perfect for warm weather and cool weather The fit around the waist and length fit to a tee, something that I was not expecting as most pants for women my age ..68, do not really fit that well.I will continue to purchase from Columbia.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Leslie3 from Lightweight protective pants Even if you aren't going fishing in these pants, they are great for traveling, hiking and just wearing around town. Very breathable, quick drying and lightweight. Comfortable waist band with elastic on sides, belt loops can accommodate a 1 1/2" wide belt and one zipper close pocket on the thigh to lock in those valuables. Very stylish fit. The fabric tends to snag easily if you get too close to briars on the shore, however, in spite of that, I liked them so much that I ended up getting 3 pairs in various colors.

Rated 2 out of 5 by AKMooselover from If you want to look fat ... I read another review that said she'd found a pair that didn't make her look like a chunky old lady just getting off the bus on her tour, but honestly, that's just what they made me look like. Maybe you need to be straight up and down but I looked hideous in these. They are being returned pronto.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Bobina from convertible pants While others had said they run large, I did not find that to be the case. I did the measurements exactly as instructed and they were too tight to wear.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Mare84 from Perfect Purchase These pants are exactly what I was looking for. I'm 5'7', wear 10 - 12 and purchased the Large; they fit great. I was actually waiting for my reward points to post on my acct. to order another pair for our Yosemite camping trip this summer!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Litta from Excellent Lightweight Pants for Hiking I have purchased a XS and a S in these pants. I am 5'3, 115 lb. The pants are great. The material is excellent as it is lightweight. The zipoff bottoms work well and zip on & off smoothly in my experience. I find the XS pants are more fitted to my waist, hips and legs to the point that I ordered a size up, the Small, so that there would be more fabric 'give' as when I hike and I'm ascending, I don't want the fabric to fit so snugly around my thighs & calves, as the XS pant does. With the Small size, I do need a belt as the waist is looser than the XS. Reading another review, the reviewer found the XS too large for her. I guess it all depends on your body type, weight distribution, & what sort of 'feel' you like against your lower body with the pants when hiking/fishing/camping/etc.

Rated 4 out of 5 by fishchick from good for the purpose The PFG line runs big and I wish this was a whole lot smaller. The XS is super large and if I didn't wear a belt they would be at my knees. Wish they had more elastic or adjust at the waist. The leg is cut a little fuller than I like. Inspite of that I bought the pants as they are perfect match for fishing in warm conditions. Be sure you have a belt and you will enjoy these.
