Rated 5 out of 5 by from This Product has an excellent quality. The description of the Profuct is really true and has covered all my expectations.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Tight armpit I bought the "Bright Plum" S. I was a bit disappointed at the fitting. The most crucial part is not feeling constricted at the armpits - this is where this jacket is not designed well. It's impossible to wear anything other than a Tshirt under the jacket. The underarm area is tight, then the arm expands a little making it look puffy at the arms unnecessarily. The rest of the jacket is well made. It's more thin and lightweight than I thought so I hope it has enough down material inside to help keep me warm below freezing... will see when the temp drops in a few days. Also, the color is not as vibrant and bright as the pic shows - just be aware. I usually get petite clothing which Columbia does not offer. The sleeves are about 4 to 5 inches too long for me. Still looks ok tucking the extra length in but just a bit of hassle.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from 860 TurboDown Jacket I am happy with this jacket and it is lightweight. I have the medium and it fits true to size as I am 5'8" with a 34 chest and size 6 waist. Sleeve length is great and it covers about half of my bum. I am able to wear a sweatshirt underneath without it being tight. A small may have fit but without bulky clothing underneath. I needed a coat for cooler winter days as it keeps me warm but I would not use it as my ski coat unless it was a nicer day out. The zipper is small and somewhat flimsy.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Does the job Very blue! Great jacket for riding a bike to campus in the winter.... inner lining is especially comfortable.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Jacket runs small After reading numerous reviews I ordered my regular size (XL; I wear size 16) but the jacket was small in torso and arms holes. Really disappointed that I have to pay shipping to return the jacket that was not an XL size. I can not really recommend quality or warmth because I never really could wear it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lightweight and warm The jacket is lightweight and warm which makes it perfect with a sweater under it. Luv it!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Light, warn, but the problem with the zipper. I like the light weight., but the zipper is flimsy and broke within one week. North Face's zipper is wide, big, and strong, and Columbia should use such zipper. Also the arm can be a little slimmer. I look like a robot with this jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from This product fits good and is not bulky at all. I like this coat because it is not bulky at all. I live in Colorado so the weather can be cold one day and warm the next in the winter. So far I have been comfortable and warm. I would recommend this product. I did try on a similar Columbia coat at a store in order to get my correct size before ordering online.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Isn't warm This is not a winter jacket. It feels about like a sweater plus a windbreaker. I'm an avid hiker, and I thought this 860 jacket would be a good non-bulky winter hiking jacket. I have a marshmallow-style Columbia jacket and also Columbia hiking boots that are great, so was expecting to like this jacket too. I did a test comparison with this jacket vs a lined windbreaker. I wore the same wool base layers with both jackets. This jacket was similar when active, but it lost heat faster than the lined windbreaker when I stopped exercising. What happens when you're sitting for even a limited period of time, or you're hiking back down a mountain so there's not so much effort?....you get cold, fast. It's a pretty jacket and the fit was great, but that's not enough.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Shiny jacket I purchased this jacket online. Great for price. Very warm and light weight. The arms were a bit to long for me, but I am on the petite side. Seemed a little roomy for a medium. I ended up returning this jacket because the material was shinier than appears on the picture. I would have kept it otherwise. I purchased two other Columbia jackets in exchange and love them!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Ski Coat This is an awesome coat...I use it primarily for downhill skiing. I am 5' 9", approx. 165 lbs, muscular build and I ordered a L. It is super warm, yet lightweight. Very comfy. Highly recommend.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Warm and light This jacket feels very high tech and well-made. I like how light and easy to pack this jacket is. I purchased this jacket for a trip to Japan in the winter. I was looking for a light but very warm and durable jacket suitable for spending long days outside. I typically wear a small but in this jacket I decided to exchange for a medium because I plan on layering it with other items underneath. I would recommend this jacket!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Warm and stylish I would have given 5 starts BUT I find the zipper to be cheapish and hoping it lasts the season plus more. I love the coat, fits nice, looks good, its just that zipper that disappoints me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great quality and fit. Love this coat!! I have a black and purple coat in this style. Love the coat. Fits great, looks awesome and is warm and not bulky.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cold in Chiacgo Area THIS coat, recommended by my son was worth the purchase. Everything it claims to be, warmth, great fit, comfortable and keeps your core and arms very warm for being a light weight coat! I liked the longer sleeves for reaching, doesn't ride up and would recommend to anyone. Purchased this in Cobalt Blue, nice.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best coat I have ever owned This coat does a great job of keeping your body heat in and keeping cold and wind out. I am typically a small in Columbia but I went up to a medium and I am glad I did. This is more of a slimmer/feminine cut than other products of theirs I have owned, but very flattering because of it. Perfect for layering(which I do when it is really cold). I am a southern gal so I can't tolerate the cold well, but I have never had any issues with this coat. The best part besides the effectiveness of keeping you warm is that is it lightweight and not bulky like other coats. It's actually much lighter weight/less bulky than my old Columbia coat, but is way warmer. Cannot recommend this enough! I researched so many different coats/brands before choosing this one. I am glad this is the one I went with! Perfect coat to own!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight Warmth AND blocks wind I knew this jacket had to be warm, but one of my concerns with a down jacket was that the wind would go right through it. This is NOT the case. This jacket did not let any wind or cold in when I rode home on my motorcycle at 45 degrees with the Fast Trek II fleece underneath. I was so light and comfortable. (I wish I could get an armored motorcycle jacket with this technology in it!!! - Ha!) This gear is gonna keep me outside longer, for sure. Love it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pretty purple This jacket was a very pretty purple ! I found the fit wasn't right the circumference of the arms where very large it made me look like a football player . I did like the length and the scooped back but the chest was tight and the torso quite large .this coat does not have the soft feel of a down jacket it was stiff feeling sad to say I'm returning this jacket .

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great jacket! I love this jacket because it provides warmth without bulk. It keeps me at the perfect temperature. The fit is great. I use it as my everyday jacket here in Colorado.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Not too bulky I bought this to go back East, as we don't need heavy jackets in Cali! This had reflective material inside which kept me warm and, as i said in my review title, took away the bulk. I love the fit and the color and now I have a four season jacket I can wear on both coasts.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice jacket but plastic zipper still a question I bought a jacket 2 days ago, first time to wear it, after I stood up; the zipper snapped off and opened by itself from the bottom? Oh no, I though I will get stuck and no way out, ha. It took me a while to fix it. Now it is ok, I hope. Let's wait and see. It is a nice jacket but not sure why Columbia uses the PLASTIC zipper? Hope that I don't have to send it back. For this reason, I don't recommend this jacket.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lightweight warm jacket Great lightweight warm jacket, sometimes a little too warm. Typically wear this dropping child of at school and walks around the neighborhood. Half way through my walks with the dog, I am super hot, wish there were pit zips. I am large chested so I got an XL to fit my chest and be able to layer for cold days on the mountain, the torso fits fine for that, but the sleeves are about 3 inches too long.
Date published: 2015-01-22
Rated 4 out of 5 by from brilliant purple This jacket is a sturdy outdoor jacket that keeps me warm on my daily walks with my dog. I am not a skier or big winter outdoors person but I was looking for a functional jacket for the winters of Colorado. What I like is the jacket is light and yet warm. The sleeves were long but the rest of the jacket was true to fit. I hope to use it for many years of outdoor walks, shopping and any other kinds of outdoor events I attend. The color purple was a little bright but I am getting used to being seen in a crowd!! LOL

Rated 5 out of 5 by from 860 Turbodown I love the lightweight feel of this jacket and it's apparent breath-ability. It keeps me warm outdoors, but almost more importantly, I can wear it indoors (groceries, errands, etc) without becoming overly warm which has always been an issue for me. I did need to buy an XL allowing room for a sweater, normally a L would be good.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lovely jacket, weird arms This is a beautiful jacket. Nice and cozy, very well-made. The body does have an active fit, helping the Omni heat do its thing. BUT, the sleeves on the xs seemed to have come from a size large jacket. They were more than roomy. I could fit both my arms down one sleeve and there was still extra room. I could not layer this jacket under a shell due to this issue. It looked weird and felt uncomfortable. Part of the problem is that I am a small person at 5'1" and 114#. (Please, Columbia, start carrying your outerwear in petite sizing!). I had my 5'5" daughter try on the jacket and it looked less disproportionate. But the sleeves were still roomy. If you don't need to worry about layering over this jacket, and/or you want to wear bulky items under it, the sleeve issue is probably not that big a deal. If you are a petite person who can sometimes make do with regular extra small sizes, this is probably not one of those times.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Winter Jacket Excellent multi-purpose winter jacket. Warm without being overly-bulky. I'm 5'4", 125 labs and a size small fits great, with room to layer a sweatshirt or fleece underneath.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Daughter LOVES this coat! I purchased this coat for my daughter after seeing a few other brands. Columbia continues to impress me after being an open minded outerwear purchaser for years. We handled many coats and Columbia not only had the best price, but included many more features than its competition.
Date published: 2014-11-07
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not a true black I purchased this jacket in hot pink at a discount store and was totally in love with the fabric, style, feather weight and warmth so I bought it in black from Columbia.com. My pink jacket (the only choice in the store) is large, I am a small but I purchased the black in medium thinking of sweaters underneath. I am 5'2" and weigh 118. Everything about the jacket is first class except the color. It is not a jet black. That fact makes it difficult to pair with black pants and boots (my winter wardrobe) or a black turtleneck, black scarf or one with black in it. That is the reason that I do not recommend purchasing this product.
