Reviews

Women’s Powder Pillow™ Hybrid Long Jacket is rated 4.5 out of 5 by 20.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Hood can be removed; warm at 30-35 degrees I wanted a long jacket for spring and fall in Wisconsin. This is warm enough for me at about 30-35 degrees but I am always cold compared to others. I love that the hood can be removed since it doesn't look quite as winter-oriented without the hood. I thought the deep rust with dark grey inserts at the sides would be flattering (given the contrasting pieces down the sides). It isn't as flattering as I had hoped because the dark grey strip, which is not insulated, is too wide. It also runs a little large. I always order Small in Columbia when I am going to have a layer underneath. (5'6", 112 pounds, 36B) This jacket is extra roomy and the silhouette isn't as nice as the Karis Gale Columbia jacket for example. The jacket and the sleeves are plenty long and the rust color is pretty. The pocket zippers are hidden in seams but the pockets aren't very big. Overall, it is a high-quality jacket that I can wear in milder weather.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT coat!! I have had this coat for a few months now and I love it!! The detachable hood is convenient and the overall quality is great! I wear this coat every day and it works wonders. I especially like how warm it is on those extra cold days without being bulky. I highly recommend this coat to anyone looking for a warm, everyday coat.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for the warm cold days! Loved this coat when I got it, it was sadly too big and I had to return it.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Unfortunately -- warm for mild climates only. This coat is SO GOOD LOOKING ON that I wish that it was warm enough for a cold cold climate. The coat is too thin for a Chicago winter. Would be great in fall and early spring. Might keep it for that but unfortunately, need to purchase another coat. Pros - look, neck zips up high to keep out wind, added cuff to arm keeps out wind and helpful for longer arms, coat length. Cons - thin, does not feel down-insulated. Doesn't feel like there is any puff to the front and back to keep the cold away from the body.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great every day coat I recently bought a different, heavy thick down jacket because of a planned trip to Leavenworth ( I hate being cold). But that jacket is too thick for every day wear. So I read the reviews on this jacket, and read that it was a great every day coat. And that it is!!!! I am sooooooooo happy with this purchase, and it's exactly what I needed and wanted!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Deceiving From the photo alone this coat is nothing what it looks like. The sides of the coat from the bottom to up under the arms is all elastic. Yes elastic, the front and back is the usual shell-like material. But the coat overall is too thin for me. The length of the coat and the sleeves are good, the hood fits nicely. However I have to return, it's too thin and too small for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from *THE* everyday coat. I’ll start by saying this coat is gorgeous! I was tempted to stick with black in order to not worry about matching things however, the rust is just so perfect. This is such a smart coat— the length, the stretchy sides, the two way zipper, the sleeve openings... there isn’t a thing I would add or change. It’s so warm, without having a ton of Bulk. We haven’t seen snow yet this year so, I can’t speak for that but, it has certainly been cold, windy and wet. The coat on its own is great, adding a layer of fleece or something similar makes it practically impenetrable. My one small concern is that the zipper can often be tough to start. If it’s a real problem though, I won’t hesotate to contact Columbia. Their CS is always great and I’m sure they’ll help me out. I love this coat and I’m sure I’ll get many years of use out of it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fits like a glove! I am so glad I bought this coat. It's become my favorite grab and go jacket for fall. I didn't know how it would fit and when I put it on, I didn't want to take it off. In fact, I think I wore it around the house for a bit. It was comfy, not bulky or stiff. It has a stretch fabric sewn into the sides of the coat so when you have it zipped and get into your car or sit down, it moves with my body. No tight fitting discomfort at all. I have recommended it to my friends and I would buy another for myself, I like it that much! Thanks Columbia - for putting out products that fit our family's needs year after year!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Coat I bought this to wear to Europe over Thanksgiving. Great coat for those cold days that are not freezing (under 35 degrees). Of course, you could layer underneath and make it work for colder climates. Very comfortable and the ends of the sleeves have a separate layer that wraps your wrist (like a t-shirt underneath) that is a nice touch. See the picture to see what I mean.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight but very warm This is very comfortable and lightweight. It is easy to move around in and very warm especially when layered with another hoodie.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Lightweight and warm I'm going to be super comfortable this winter in this coat, the sleeve length is perfect--not too short like I usually struggle with.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Perfect for winter I really enjoy this coat. I did order a size up, which I do not recommend because it is true to its size while most coats run small! Nonetheless, the sleeves are great and my favorite part. I would recommend this jacket to family and friends.
