Women's Powder Summit™ II Down Jacket is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 8.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from size up I am typically a med- size 8-10; 5'8", 140# and the Med was a bit snug for outerwear. The large is a good fit. I like the lining. I was surprised that there was velcro at the wrist. The fact that the velcro was not sewn on correctly was an even bigger surprise. But, alas, sewing on a little velcro isn't a big deal, unless you can't sew.:)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Major flaw This is my first Columbia coat and I admit I was disappointed. This coat was a little broad in the shoulders and tighter through the bodice. For reference I am 5'9" and 135 lbs and I got the medium. I prefer a more fitted style so I didn't look like a marshmallow which it is but the shoulders could have been more feminine shaped. The deal killer for this coat are the sleeve openings. To close the Velcro you must tighten the wrist very tight. Why even have it adjustable if you can't loosen it all the way? I hate it. Unfortunately it wasn't something I checked before taking the tags off or it would go back and maybe the lay D down would be better? This was a splurge to spend this much on a coat for me so it's disappointing to be stuck with a coat you played a lot for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket I had to replace my down jacket because I ripped it. Since the company changed the jacket and I didn't like the new version, I was glad that I found this jacket. I ordered it on line, and not really knowing what I was getting, I was pleasantly surprised when I received it and tried it on. It was almost the exact same fit as my old jacket, only in a different material. It fits and looks great! I only have it a week, but I get tons of compliments on it. It seems very warm with the omi heat lining. Since all the manufacturers have resized all of the jackets and made them a size smaller, I had to order a medium and it fits just like my 4 year old small one did.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love It!!!! I am obsessed with this jacket. It's so incredibly warm and the length is perfect. I live in Chicago and it's already freezing here but I'm nice and cozy with this coat (and I haven't even started pairing it with a fleece yet because it does such a great job!). Highly recommend. The only thing I wanted to note is that the jacket is two tone. I have the black and the top half is matte while the bottom half is a different, shiny kind of fabric. Although I was initially thrown off by this (couldn't tell from the pic) now I kind of like it and think it makes the jacket look unique.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Too little for too much money I tried to buy the first edition of this coat last year. The sizing was way off(much smaller than size) and by the time i returned it my size had sold out. This year i bought a larger size(still too small). i am 5"2" weigh 114 and could not comfortably wear a thin sweater under a size medium. Also this year the coat is a totally stripped down model. It has 2 exterior slash pockets. That's it. No interior pockets, no zip pockets. No underarm vents. No sleeve interior storm cuffs or gaiters. No storm skirt. For $240 i want all the stuff that was on last years jacket plus any improvements. I sent it back. SO disappointed. IF you want a Basic weatherproof coat with thermo heat interior then this is a good quality jacket. As i said for $240 i expected more. Especially since last year they made it with all the good and useful extras. BTW this coat is almost the same price as last year. Offer less of a product and pay more? Sorry Columbia, normally I'm a fan but not for this jacket.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Beautiful jacket The jacket feels a little on the small side in the shoulders which is mostly noticeable when you are putting your arms into it. The arm length and length of the jacket itself are fine. It is also not meant to be worn with bulky layers. However, I don't think even if it were wider you'd even want layers as it is so nice and warm.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from A Better Version of the Jacket. Somehow, I purchased a better version of this jacket. I purchased it from a seller outside of the Columbia website. There are a few major differences about the coat, while I believe the basics remain the same. The differences are as listed below: External differences: 1. The outside of the jacket is covered in the same deep violet satin material which is soft to the touch. Although, the upper portion is same color, this version has an all-over Columbia print (embroidery?). It's a very nice touch for branding. 2. This version has those lovely stretchy hand covers at the inside opening of the sleeves we call "hand gaiters"! 3. The attached hood has an adjustable toggle on back to shorten the distance between the front edge and back of head. I believe this is to allow a better fit for a smaller head, and to allow for wearing goggles and sunglasses without the hood blocking your view. Works great! 4. This version has zippered pit vents in case heat builds up too much. The small para ore ropes are very easy to grab onto, and the zippers are very smooth gliding. This is usually found on the more expensive ski jackets. And now for interior differences: 1. Powder skirt with rubberized Columbia branded elastic band! This also seems to be featured on a lot of the more expensive ski jackets. In case you're not sure what this is, it's an elastic banded "skirt" attached to the inside of the jacket near the bottom. You take the tabs at each end and snap it around your waist before zipping up your jacket, which prevents wind and snow from entering up the bottom. Works GREAT! 2. Inner pockets. The version of the jacket that I have has more pockets inside. a. There is a large mesh pocket with and elastic band at the edge on the inner right side. This is specifically for ski goggles, hence the size. I must state, though, it's great for carrying extra stuff in case you do not want to carry a purse. b. There is a second mesh pocket (on left) opposite the regular inside zippered pocket (which is on the right just above the ski goggles pocket. This one is a lot smaller, but the function is for music players of any kind, including phones. I own an LG G2 which fits snugly inside. I would say this is the largest phone that can fit, but you can always use the ski goggles pocket for anything larger! 3. Overall length of this version of the jacket seems to be a couple inches longer than the measurement given above by 1-2 inches. Just a side note: this specific jacket runs a whole size smaller than the tag size. I usually wear a medium, I ordered a large. It fits like a medium. Also, the tag says 75% Down and 25% Feathers, but does not have the 550 branding. Columbia really took this jacket above and beyond high quality by using reinforced stitching at all hems and seam endings, at pocket corners, and where all mixed media connects. There are zero holes or cut corners on the version I have. I checked the date of manufacture, which was in January of 2013, and I think maybe this was the introductory version. In any case, at a price tag of $240, I'd like to see them reoffer the jacket with all the missing features as I listed above! All in all, I gave the above jacket a 4 out of 5 star review due to the missing features.
