Rated 4 out of 5 by jcc99 from Nice hiker but does run small I normally wear a 7.5 but ordered an 8 based on comments and the size chart. The 8 was still too small and had to reorder an 8.5. The return/reorder process was quick and efficient. The shoe is comfortable and lightweight compared to other hiking shoe/boots I've had.

Rated 5 out of 5 by JeniCat from Order at least a half size up! I wear a 4 in big kids shoes and a 6 in women's shoes from Columbia. I followed the advice in reviews and got a half size bigger than my size. A 6.5 was perfect! I took them out hiking, and got great use of the sturdy higher ankles on an uneven terrain. The toe box is nice and wide, and the shoe will accommodate thicker wool socks. Love them! Can't wait to try the waterproofing in the fall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by KirstenThor from Sturdy and comfortable They run a bit narrow, but good fit for my narrow feet. They were immediately comfortable and no "break-in" required. Very good cushion. I haven't had a chance to test how waterproof they are, but based on other commentary, they should perform well in wet conditions too.

Rated 4 out of 5 by 54Bikinggirl from Too short for my foot, size 12 pinched my toes. I gave them to my sister, she likes them. It is a good shoe but there was not enough room in the toe for my foot. I gave them to my sister and bought the men's size 10.5 for a better fit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by heyjc from good shoe but not for me i've started buying size 9's now in closed toe shoes (typically 8-8.5 in open toed). felt like this pair (9) was a smidge short for me. also my little toe on each foot felt rubbed. going to return them, the fit is just not right for me. foot bed is narrow so wide feet wouldnt be happy. Otherwise...great looking shoe, sole has good tread, seemed made well. just not for my foot. bought on line, returning to the outlet mall (call at time of sale said i could).

Rated 5 out of 5 by wanderpolly from Waterproof and comfortable for trip to Iceland These were comfortable from the first wearing! Definitely waterproof in snow and rain. I need more cushioning due to some foot issues and I was able to put some separate insoles in. I ordered a size larger initially due to the reviews. I had to return then for a size smaller.

Rated 5 out of 5 by NB13295 from Great boot!! I have walked through snow and puddles with these and have never gotten wet feet. I even accidentally stepped in a pothole about 3-4 inches deep filled with water and still didn’t get wet feet. They are definitely waterproof but they do run about a half size small. I wear them quite a bit for walking around town, even when the snow starts melting and everything is wet and muddy. They keep my feet dry and they have great traction on the bottom so I have no complaints about them. They are great!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by ledwards80 from Excellent hiking boots These are great for anyone looking for mid high boots to protect your ankles. The fit is perfect and comfortable, and the cushion is nice. No pain or blisters with my first hike. Being water proof is also a plus! Overall, a great purchase.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Mel62 from Disappointed I bought these on vacation when my other boots fell apart. When I walked around the store in them they felt good. I had to go up half a size. Once I began some serious hiking my toes were throbbing. The toe box is narrow and my toes were jamming up as I hiked. I'm unable to wear these now. I've only worn them once, and feel I've lost the money I paid for them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by gingaging from Great hiking shoe This is my second pair of Columbia hiking shoes-I wore the others out after about five years. I recently purchased these and have only used them twice so far. They fit true to size for me and have some good additional ankle support. The only reason I wouldn't give this shoe a perfect rating it you would really need to try it on to make sure the arch support was enough and in the right spot for you. It is a little off for me, and I am particularly sensitive to arch support, but haven't had a problem with these shoes. So buy em! And try them on for sure.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Mar99 from Disappointed I purchased this shoe locally late last winter and was very upset to find that even though they claim to be waterproof, one of them was not. The right shoe seems to be waterproof, but the left one definitely is not, which defeats the very purpose of my purchase. I live on a farm and wear them all winter when I work outside and walk my dog in the fields. I expect more from Columbia and am extremely disappointed, especially because they were not cheap!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Hcn914 from Just Run a Little Small I love these shoes! I work 8-10 hour shifts and my feet never hurt while wearing these. And they are super water proof, I have been able to walk through puddles and creeks and my feet do not get wet. The only issue is they run a little small so I would get at least a half size bigger than your normal shoe size

Rated 2 out of 5 by MaggieDiamond from Redmond waterproof hikers I bought these boots on the recommendation of my sister. I'm going hiking in Scotland, where it's not known for dry weather. I purchase dthem 2 months ago and have maybe worn them 4 times, I'm goin g to scotland in 3 weeks. They were comfortable right away with no need for breaking in. Today it was raining so i thought id better see if they stand up to their claim of being waterproof. I started walking through wet grass and had the sensation of the top of my foot getting damp but I wasn't quite sure, anyways after more walking and purposely putting my feet in a few puddles I knew that the one side was getting wet. Not soaking but Dampish. I proved this when I went home and put a papertowl in the shoe. It was definitely wet. This is a real drag as I'm going to Scotland in 3 weeks and what's the odds of getting new boots in time. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by FinisterraKeri from Great for the West Coast! I love these hiking boots! They are comfy, waterproof, and didn't take any time to break-in. They are ideal for enjoying the beautiful (albeit wet) West Coast of Canada. I bought a full size larger than what I normally buy as I'd read the reviews. Highly recommend! Rated 2 out of 5 by LeahS from Odd wear I purchased these trail boots for summer use and only for dry conditions. The fit is great the support is great. The flaw was a major failure of the stitching and rubberized toe cap of one shoe so much so it is not going to last this summer. I am very disappointed in this poor quality and am trying to find some way to replace these. I love Columbia clothing and footwear. Very disappointed in this one. I walk 1-2 miles each day over bush trails and rock. Nothing extraordinary. I live in the bush but only use these boots for my daily walk. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sloth from Comfortable hiking boots Extremely comfortable with orthotic inserts. I see reviews that these run small but I cannot confirm this as I intentionally purchased a size larger to accommodate the inserts and thicker socks. I also have the sister shoe the Women’s Redmond™ Low Hiking Shoe that I love. I will definitely purchase another pair. My only issue is that after wearing them less than a dozen times and not all for hiking, these boots need the water proofing re-applied.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Freckles4 from Nice looking shoe, but! I bought these off Amazon. They were super comfortable out of the box. I wore them to work before a big hike just to make sure I had enough break in time. They were great for the 16 miles up hill. The 16 back down not so much. The seam at the back of the shoe chewed up my heel And the sole insert started rippling. I've never had that happen with any other shoes. I also bought them for 45.89 on Amazon so not sure why they are 100. From the company directly.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Woodnymph from Best hiking boots purchased to date I wore these boots every day for 3 weeks while hiking in Europe and will wear them again during my next trip, next month. They are light weight and very comfortable. I would recommend buying one size larger than normal because the boots are made a bit small. I normally wear a 7.5 and bought an 8.5. The reviews provided that priceless info. Fantastic boots.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Vivi11 from The boot Had to order pair one whole size bigger per previous reviews posted. Did my first hike in boots, and did not get any sores on feet or ankle. The only downfall was the grip of soles was not as good as I would want them to be. I still did some slip and sliding in them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by BxGeoGirl from Excellent Product, Great Investment The shoe does run small. I am originally between 6.5 and 7m. I read previous reviews and was ready to order 7.5m. Decided to go to Columbia Store to try on. Found that 7.5m fits but still chose to go one 1/2 size up to allow space for good socks, movement and foot swelling. Bought an 8m and it was perfect. Did not get chance to break in. But was not necessary. With good socks there were no blisters and barely had foot swelling. Did moderate hikes crossing streams. Shoe was comfortable, waterproof with excellent traction. I am not a frequent hiker and I get a little scared in steep areas. I purchased the ankle shoe for support. These shoes made my footing really sturdy and secure. And they look Great. So glad I made the investment.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Hiker4Life from Runs small but great boot After reordering a size up (I'm usually a size 11, but Columbia runs small so I got a 12) these boots are amazingly comfortable with little or no break in period. The ankle support is a huge positive factor along with being waterproof. I would recommend, but just order one size up from your usual size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Orangeblossom25 from Grand Teton Test Took my Colombia Redmond's for a first time test on a strenuous hike up to Amphitheater Lake in the Grand Teton's. The path was rocky and when we got closer to the lake deep in snow. Even though I fell several feet through the snow my feet stayed dry and I didn't have any blisters at the end of my 10 mile hike. I would say this is a very good shoe. I did half a size up even before reading all the reviews about it running small due to feel of the shoe which I'm glad I did.

Rated 4 out of 5 by PNWLaura from Runs Small but Great Boot I'm a size 8.5 in every shoe I own but had to go up a full size for this boot to fit. This boot is definitely tailored for a more narrow foot. I took them on a 5 mile hike the day after I purchased them and had no problems at all. I'm very happy I found these boots and you can't beat the price!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Gisele from Order full size larger I normally wear 1/2 size larger for my hiking shoes and athletic shoes but beware, these boots run small! I needed to order a full size larger. I walked around my house wearing them and there's no way I can wear them hiking! My toes are against the toe of the boot. No wiggle room for when the fett swell up. They are well made though and nice and light!

Rated 1 out of 5 by FrantaProchazka from Not waterproof! I bought these boots for my daughter. She loved the fit and feel from the start. Unfortunately, after 5 month, she wore these in the rain and in less than 1/2 hour these boots were TOTALLY soaked thru. Maybe if Columbia used their OutDry technology on these, they would be more waterproof? Until then, we cannot recommend these boots for anything but light dry weather walks.

Rated 5 out of 5 by jstram from half size small Wow, this might be the first hiking boot I have gotten that actually fits without my having to put on a bulky sock. This definitely runs 1/2 size small but is well proportioned throughout. I haven't gotten to hike in these yet but I am really looking forward to giving them a try.

Rated 2 out of 5 by HopeL from Does not fit well. I read other reviews before purchasing these boots and chose to buy them a half size larger than I would usually order. Unfortunately, they were still much too small, especially in the width. They also did not appear to offer much ankle support. Because of Columbia's return policy I was required to then pay another $10 shipping and handling fees to return them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by PAHiker from Love these boots I have bought Columbia hiking boots for a number of years precisely because they run narrow. They are the only brand of hiking boots that come close to fitting my narrow foot. I bought these boots in my normal size (11), and I didn't find them to be too short, although I haven't worn them extensively yet. I'm happy these are Omni-Tech waterproof and not the OutDry...the OutDry boots that my husband and I have bought are too flexible and not padded enough around the ankle. These boots are exactly what I expected and wanted.

Rated 3 out of 5 by shoppingprincess88 from Size I haven’t tried them outdoors yet but I have been wearing them around the house to break them in. They feel confortable to me. I do agree with the other two reviews that the sizes do run VERY small. I am usually a 5 ½ - 6 but from reading the reviews on this boot I ordered a size 7 to be safe. I have a thumb’s width of space at the toe end of the shoe and also have enough room to slip a finger in behind my heel.

Rated 1 out of 5 by JoJo50 from disappointing boot Needed a replacement for my old Columbia boots, but they aren't making that style anymore. This boot is the comparable replacement. Initially ordered my regular size, but they were so tight I had to return them. Went to the outlet store to actually try them on, but the outlet store didn't have them. Ordered them on-line again, this time a whole size larger than normal. That helped, but they are VERY narrow. They also don't seem to have all the support I need (& have come to expect) in all the right places. Not the best boots I have ever bought from Columbia, but they'll have to do for now. Very disappointed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by rnans from Runs small and False Chart Comparison. I received this pair today but very dissapointed because it is too tight. I normally wear size 8 or 8.5 in US size and 40 in EU size. The comparison chart indicates that the equivalent for 40 EU size is 8 so I had decided to buy size 9 which is 41 1/3 in EU size (according to the chart) with hope to give my feet a little room for hiking. When I got the shoes I noticed that there was something wrong and checked the size information inside the shoes and found that the size 9 is equivalent to 40 EU size. I contacted the customer service immediately to inform them about my issue and also to request an update on the comparison chart. Hope they will respond it quickly.
