Women’s Silver Ridge™ Convertible Pant is rated 4.2 out of 5 by 18.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointing experience: Inconsistent sizing and colors Prior to purchasing online, I visited a couple of retail stores as well as the outlet store to find the size that works for me. I understand that each style might be different, so I tried as many different pairs and styles of Columbia pants to determine my size (size 2). Issue with size: Bought 3 pairs (Size 2) online and they are widely different from each other (all 3!) even though all the labels indicate they are size 2 (see accompanying picture). Issue with color: I ordered two blacks and one flint grey. The two blacks don't even match, one them is closer to navy blue than black. I am very disappointed by the overall lack of consistency. I would have liked to recommend the products themselves, but I do not recommend people purchasing these online. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product! I’m not a frequent online shopper as I’m always skeptical of quality and sizing. I got exactly what I wanted. Very good quality and sizing as I expected. I was very pleasantly surprised. I would absolutely recommend these pants! (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Always reliable quality... But not always reliably sized. I have been a size 6L for longer than I care to admit. Because I wanted a pair i could wear over silks, I ordered an 8L. It was tighter than any of my similar size 6 Columbia convertible pants and it was short. So, excellent quality as always but, really, a little consistency in sizing goes a long way to making online shopping enjoyable and efficient. This moderates my enthusiasm for recommending it. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Silver Ridge convertible pants Love those pants. Fits really good and very comfortable for hiking. I have tried different hiking pants but these are by far my favorite. I now own 3 pairs. Should be good for a while :-) (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Ran small Had to return because while I could do up the pants, they were uncomfortably tight around the waist and thighs and had no stretch. That being said the return process was smooth and straightforward! Bought a size up and they're quite comfortable. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good brand I've owned the same or equivalent pants from Columbia for many years. It's the same, functional design: comfortable for movement, zippers/pockets in right places, cinch at botttom and is a good looking design. The fabric is a very light, soft and flexilbe nylon and looks like ripstop, so should be strong enough for many uses, but I wouldn't wear this for bushwacking or scrambling. So it's a nice cool, light, quick drying pair of pants for the outdoors. 4 stars because the fabric is a bit too light and clingy for my liking. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Sizing Too Small Purchased these pants because I didn't want anything too stretchy/clingy, but rather a sturdy pant for hiking and outdoor activities. These pants fit too snug around the waist and thigh, and the zippers by the knee area scratched the inside of my legs. Pants were also too short in the rise. Maybe a size bigger would have been better, but previous size 2 always fit before. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable and functional I really love these slacks for travel, because they are comfortable and light-weight. Lots of easy access pockets to put things in, and best of all, you can zip off the bottoms and convert them into shorts when you arrive at your tropical destination!! They wash well and dry very quickly which is another bonus when travelling and they don't crease too badly either. I am very happy with my purchase, and this is the 3rd generation style of these pants that I have owned. You cannot go wrong with the Columbia brand. They are trustworthy and well-made!! Rated 3 out of 5 by from FAULTY SNAP CLOSURE AT WAIST I love columbia gear and it is my go to product for technical outdoor wear. I love everything about these pants, from fit to material to ease of conversion. The only thing is the snaps at the waist come unsnapped. They are a correct fit and are not to small at the waist, the snaps just dont want to stay in place. I had these fail me on a 6 day backpacking trip, and had my pants falling down on the trail. very irritating. i dont know why columbia chose a snap closure over a button closure. sigh. love how these pants fit but can never buy again because they are always falling down. The snap is the only reason I give this product an average review.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Convertible Pant This pant is perfect for travelling. It is lightweight, washes beautifully and has lots of pockets with one being just the right size to hold your passport. The pants quickly convert into shorts. This is my third pair of pants. My only problem is the length and because there is a zipper at the hem length it does it make it difficult to shorten them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome! I love these convertible pants! Pros: Warm, easy to unzip and re-zip the bottom leg, stylish, comfortable, breathable Cons: I wish the side pocket was more like a cargo pant pocket and that there was one on both sides. The back pockets seal with a velcro strip and I wish those were more like cargo pant style also. Columbia does have a more cargo style pant that I ordered but they were too big and my local store only had the Silver Ridge. I wouldn't let the pockets deter you from getting these though. Unless you rely heavily on good pockets.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pants! I haven't worn these pants yet but I'm looking forward to it. We are traveling to Macu Pichu, Peru & the Galápagos Islands and these will be perfect for our climbing, weather changes and lack of many laundry facilities. Love the length the short will be -- good for warmer weather and comfort. Love the weight of the fabric and that it's virtually wrinkle free!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love, love! Absolutely love these zip off pants! Unfortunately they are too long and the short size is N/A. So unfortunately have to return. Will definitely buy again if they come in short!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Highly Recommend But Be Prepared to Adjust Sizing I'm 5'4" 36-28-36, and it's been really difficult to find pants/shorts in the colors I need due to my petite stature. I'm spending this summer as a "tree top adventure/zip line instructor" in a mountainous region of PA (Pittsburgh). My uniform requires solid black or dark grey pants or (family-appropriate length) shorts, so even though these don't come in "short," I figured I'd give them a try since there are frequently days when it's cooler in the mornings & warmer later in the day, & I also liked that they offered SPF protection. (I also bought the Saturday Trail Stretch Convertible Pants-- I like these Silver Ridges better!). My first day wearing these (it was 90 degrees out) I fell in love with them. They wicked away sweat well, the waist (which was a little too big until adjusted-- I had to pull it back 3-4 buttons on each side) & end of the pant where it falls around the ankles are adjustable (perfect because I'm short, so I could adjust the ends of the pants so they weren't dragging on the ground) & the pocket in the front is WONDERFUL for my Android cell phone. When I converted them into shorts, I could get the extra length in the pants off over my shoes, & I was happy that the shorts fit me in a "professional, family-friendly" way (they came down to about 3 inches above my knees). Surprise Bonus: I don't have a washer & dryer at home, so occasionally when I can't make it to the laundromat I have to hand-wash items, & pulling these apart into 3 pieces makes them easy to hand wash, as opposed to other work pants I've had to hand wash. I would highly recommend these to anyone & plan on buying another pair with my next paycheck. The only thing I'm apprehensive about is whether I should buy a size 8 & adjust the waistband 3-4 notches or buy a size 6 that might fit me better in the waist.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these pants Bought my first pair. Loved them. Great to travel in. Waistband most comfortable. Bought two more pairs to wear hiking, etc. Dark colors make them more versatile. My husband is hoping Columbia will make black convertible pants for men!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Glad I sized up! I really like this pant. I am usually an 8 and am so happy that I sized up to a 10. The pant is comfortable and moves well. I like the easy zip off to shorts and the length of the shorts too. Looking forward to wearing these in Africa.
