Reviews

Women’s Silver Ridge™ Stretch Pant is rated 3.3 out of 5 by 32.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Name is a Misnomer These are great quality pants, but there is absolutely no stretch whatsoever! I'm just between a 12 and 14 at Columbia - 12 is a snug on hips but fits waist, 14 gapes at waist but fits hips looser. I have pants in both sizes. I ordered a 12 due to the STRETCH in the name and there is absolutely no way I would fit these properly even if I lost 10 pounds. That said they are a gorgeous, durably made pant!!! I will reorder if a 14 is available. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Snap button pops open, waist gaps even with size up Looking at the reviews for these pants suggesting they run very small, I went for a size 8 instead of my regular 6. Unfortunately, the waist gaps and, when I sit, the snap button pops open. I bought these for work in which I will often be moving in positions in which the button will pop open. The fit is perfect for the legs and butt, a size 6 would definitely not work. I will be looking to return them. I bought the Teton Trail pant in a size 6 at the same time and they fit perfectly. If it was a size 6, if there wasn't a snap button closure and maybe if the waist was smaller and more elastane I think I would give these pants a 5 star rating. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Pants I read the reviews before I ordered and saw these ran small I usually wear a 6, but I ordered an 8 and they fit just like my 6's. Great for work and hiking.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from missk I had to return these pants. I loved the fit, but material was noisy. The issue for me was little to no stretch in the material. Crouching at the knees was not enjoyable. Too bad because these looked awesome on. For reference I bought a size 2 and am 112lbs, 5'5" and pants were fitted. "British Tan" is a nice colour. Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these pants and how the fit I am 5’3” and a size 12 and I found these pants very duable and comfortable. I wished I could get them in other colors.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Runs very small I’ve wear mostly Colombia outdoor pants in a 10 or 12. Ordered these in a 12 and they are very small.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect I live in Costa Rica and like to go on hiking adventures in the jungle. This product is ideal for the climate down here.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good for walking I bought these pants in an attempt to find a good replacement for my old 2006 GRT pants (I'm an archaeologist). I had bought a pair of Silver Ridge pants a few years ago and like them okay, though the material just feels icky to me. They do okay and they're sturdy. I paid attention to reviews and the size chart and bought size 6 pants (28" waist) and they fit perfectly. They work okay for walking around, though I would prefer a looser fit. These are quite fitted and a little on the short side for me (5'6"). The material is sturdy, which is what I wanted, though still feels "icky" like my older pair. Unfortunately, these become nearly completely un-functional for me because when I kneel, the darts in the knees cause the fabric to pull too tight and it cuts off the circulation. I could not kneel, which I do while digging, for very long without losing all feeling in my lower legs. I'm desperate for new pants so have not returned these yet, but if I can find a better pair I will. They need to bring back the GRT material in a looser, more comfortable fit for those who work in these pants!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Snap waist comes undone, calves tight I will preface this by saying I was borderline enough on sizes that I went with a smaller size in the name of of sale. These seemed to fit when I first tried them on, although the calves were tighter than I would prefer. Then came the squat test...NOPE! They have a snap closure waist, which comes right apart at any stress, so these aren't super useful for my hikes which involve squatting to take pictures of my dog. Honestly by the end of hike #1 I just left the snap undone and the zipper + belt was sufficient to hold the pants up. I don't think a size up would help too much, since these weren't tight to start with. The main front pockets are big enough to hold a smartphone. The material has the familiar swish-swish as you walk, but it does seem like it will do well keeping water off. I haven't used them in less-than-ideal temperatures, so I can't comment on breathability or temperature regulation.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great pants The fabric is comfortable and doesn't pill. Sizing is a little difficult for me, the legs and thighs fit fine but there is a gap at the back of the waistband (but nothing a belt won't be able to fix). I have only work these pants for normal day to day activities, but I'm sure they will be fine for hiking

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Runs Two Sizes Small I am a size 4 by the Columbia size chart. I ordered a 6 in this pant based on other reviews. They are still much tighter than I expected. The material is heavy, and doesn't feel like it would dry quickly.
Date published: 2018-03-06
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Snap The snap closure pops open every time I bend over. It is not a very secure snap. There is no stretch to the material making the waist a little too tight for me. I am 5'2 at 130 lbs. I ordered a size 10. The length is good. The material is very noisy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fits small, otherwise great True Columbia quality, it's why I love this brand. Absolutely, positively order a size up, though. This fabric is not stretchy in any way. My other Columbia pants are 8's, but I had to return these in the 8 and order the 10 instead. Much better fit. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fits like a glove I love all my columbia pants though these ones are quite form fitting. Fabric not as soft or stretchy as some of my favorites making them a little less functional but they look great! (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Wish they fit I loved the look and feel.of these pants, love the pockets but they were just too small for the size I normally wear. If you wear pant size Columbia go up another size but risk longer leg length...I already have to go from size 6 in other pants to 8 in Columbia pants. I refuse to go to a 10! I love the look and feel of them, I wish they fit well, no stretch or forgiveness...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best pants I've found so far! I have different models of Columbia pants and this one is the best I have. I love that these pants are slim fit rather than boot cut or bulky as most outdoor/cargo pants. They are a bit tight but I can still move comfortably. The pockets are slightly small for my taste and the pants run a size small, but they are still a great option if you want to look good and feel comfortable at the same time.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Runs small! The pants are made of a nice material for spring/summer hiking - lightweight, but not stretchy! I bought the same size as my other Columbia hiking pants (made for late fall/beginning winter, and I was surprised to find how tight and uncomfortable these pants were. I will be returning these unfortunately.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love it! Love it. Size runs small but fits great.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Good for everyday wear These pants do run small and unfortunately I cannot say that they have stretch to them. I do like them for everyday wear. They are practical. Good for simple hikes, not enough give/stretch for hiking that involve scrambling over rocks and a definite no for rock climbing due to the stiffness of the material.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Rosariotravels I bought these pants for my wife for a hike through the Grand Canyon, they run very small so I bought her a much bigger size, she’s normally a 4 or 6, she had to go one size up, but she loved how they fit her and how they looked
Date published: 2018-01-29
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not like they used to be. Material is rough. There’s no play in then at all. They are uncomfortable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pants! These pants are great! Comfortable, water-wicking and quick dry! As far as functionality, these pants are wonderful. I would prefer a normal button vs the snap button because with a lot of bending and crouching the snap comes undone if you aren't wearing a belt. These pants ran a little small, I ended up having to get one size up.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Two sizes too small I was so excited to get these pants. I love all my Columbia pants as they usually fit true to size and stand up to the weather. I was so disappointed when I tried them on in a size up from my usual to still be far too small. I'm sending those ones back and will reorder another size up. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice pants, runs small I was disappointed by the material and how these pants fit. I have plenty of Columbia omni shield capris, and they're light weight and not tight fitting. I got my normal size pants in these, size 6, and they don't fit like the other size 6's that I have. The material isn't stretchy and they're actually more on the stiffer side. And they're not soft like the other pants I've bought from Columbia. I am not saying the product is bad, I guess I just should have paid more attention to the description since it does say it is an active body skimming fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from For me, an excellent 21st century outdoor garment I love this style and and have two in each color - it's my favorite pant of any I own. The fit is trim for my athletic body shape. It does stretch for my hiking and trail climbing with excellent abrasion resistance. Perhaps others are used to yoga pants style stretch - these won't stetrech like that but they offer a durability and wind/weather resistance no yoga pant or stretchy jean can match. I use these for 3 seasons outdoor and my daily around town pant.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Very nice pants - but waaay too small! In "normal" pants, I wear a size 6. I learned a few years ago that in Columbia pants, I wear a size 8. But these pants in size 8 are much too tight! I would have to size up one more size to a 10 in order to wear them. Columbia: I don't know who you are basing your sizing on, but you need to adjust! (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from RUNS VERY SMALL!! I wear between an 8 and a 10. These are very small. Not straight leg. They are a slim cut, and short. More like an ankle length. Very stiff fabric as well. Quality looks good, but heavy and stiff.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Not the fit I was hoping for I really love the Columbia Saturday Trail pants (non-convertible version), which are great for women with small waists & large hips, and I thought I would give these a try for some variety. The same size in these was way too small. Would have needed to go up two sizes for them to fit comfortably across my hips, and they were already gaping at the back of my waist. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Stretch pants is decieving These pants run small and there is no way they should be called stretch pants. I was looking for a pant that is comfortable and would stretch while hiking, and there is no stretch in them at all.
Date published: 2017-03-22
Rated 2 out of 5 by from This product has issues I really like the design of these pants, the fit above the knee is great, unfortunately the straight leg is more like a skinny leg from the knee down. The fabric in the knee and just below the knee is skin tight and causes a bit of discomfort just sitting. The opening at the ankle barely fits over a hiking boot. Really wanted to love these pants but with the leg so tight the product isn't really functional.
