Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great rain jacket for travel! Packing for several weeks inthe Alpines this Spring, and anticipate frequent showers. This waterproof, breathable jacket will be touring on coaches, trains and ships, in cool and cooler weather. Plenty of room for a mighty lite packable down jacket underneath when we get to Vermont! Thanks, Columbia, for offering great products in Plus sizes. We ALL just want to have fun!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Splash a little rain jacket I really liked the color and the design of the jacket. I ordered a 1x because 2x was sold out and it was too tight across the chest. Sent back and hope to get the 2x!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Runs extremely small I am 5'8" and 140lbs. The large was like a size small! Short sleeve length, narrow shoulder seams, and the hood would not cover my head! Since there were no XL available, I ordered the 1X. It fits, and is adorable! I have worn it in 40 degree raining temperatures with wind gusts up to 50mph. It definitely is wind and waterproof as it kept me dry. I also like that all the pockets zip. The only reason I did not give it a higher Quality and Function rating, is because the cord locks on the hood aren't really cord locks at all. They are a thin pinch plastic piece that is not easy to use when cinching the hood. It's really difficult to cinch the hood at all. I purchased this in white for Southern Summer hot downpours because of it's breathability. I haven't had a chance to test it out for that season yet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect coat for spring! Purchased this coat to have a lightweight jacket as a transition piece from Winter to Spring. So happy with this purchase! Coat fits true to size (I am a size 33'' jeans and normally wear XL tops) and the 1x fits absolutely perfectly -- no pulling anywhere and lays perfectly to give that longer jacket effect. Also, the coat zips up from the bottom if you like that option. I have worn this coat in the rain and the material is completely waterproof, yet lightweight and breathable, and the hood comes well over your forehead to protect your hair and to avoid rain from getting on your face. Love the large zipper pockets as well. Definitely worth the money!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great rain gear! A couple of years ago I purchased my first rain jacket like this and have loved it! It has worn well and I decided to purchase an additional one in another color. I love the longer length and it is not too warm for walks or everyday wear in the rainy NW. Great overall!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from My new favorite This new jacket arrived during a torrential Oregon rainstorm so of course I immediately wore it outside. Yes, it is waterproof! I love the length, casualness and the hood because most Oregonians aren't bothered with umbrellas! The bottom double zipper is nice for comfort driving or walking uphill. I probably could have worn a 1x but with sizes varying, I played it safe with a 2x and can easily wear a bulky sweater underneath. I love the fact Columbia has opted for plus size.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Zipper The zipper had something wrong with the part that connects them, it would not zip.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Nice Rain Jacket Being from Buffalo,NY I probably will not get much use out of it til spring, but I love this jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect for Raincouver I finally bit the bullet and purchased a proper rain jacket. Having tried on a friend’s I knew which size to get. While I normally wear 1x/2x I bought the 3x in this jacket. It has ample room for layering and covers my butt. I could have tried a 2x but not sure it would have fit. The jacket itself is completely waterproof which I love. The colour is fabulous! I do however look like a giant tomato from a side profile as the cut of the jacket is an A-line shape, but it fits so whatever. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Covers well It is wonderful to find technical quality in plus sized clothing. Thank you, Columbia, for understanding larger ladies are active outdoors too! This delightful rain jacket is ample and covers well. It is longish for a jacket, especially in the back, which is what I wanted to cover my down jacket and make sure rain drips freely off the loose hem as I walk, not soaking into my jeans. (I am 5'3" and usually a 2X but ordered the 3X to have lots of room for layering.) As previous reviews stated, the sleeves are long (too long for short me but the velcro makes them work) and wide enough for my plump arms, the shoulders aren't that broad but there is ample room for a plus sized bosom. The hips are quite loose, avoiding strain on the zipper, which is a two way zipper by the way, a very important feature. I will be able to fit this rain jacket over my armoured motorcycle jacket and sit comfortably, not feeling like a sausage! I haven't gone for a walk in a torrential downpour yet, but the way light rain just beads up on its surface is reassuring. The two tone red pattern is appealing and modern. The only thing I could wish for is an inner draw string to stop drafts if caught out in bitter cold. I may add one myself, just in case. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A coat I love to wear. Love the fit. I wear a 2X and the 2X it fits perfect. Best part is the hood is adjustable in the back so I can actually see when I'm wearing it. To me that's the best feature. Most hoods are too big. I live in the PNW and was tired of getting wet. This coat is nice looking and very functional. Nocturnal dot print is beautiful. Tempted to buy another one because it's so hard to find a nice looking rain coat. It is light weight but so far in November I haven't had to wear a sweater under it. It has snaps in addition to the zipper.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice Looking, Good Fit I bought this for a hiking trip in New Zealand; I like the length (covers my rear) and the sleeve length (might be too long for some). The color/pattern is attractive. The hood feels comfortable. The jacket zips and snaps. My only complaint is that the fabric is stiff and crackly but I suspect I won’t mind that if it keeps me dry!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect Light Jacket This jacket is wonderful. The colour is true to the picture and I personally love it. The colour was why I wanted the jacket. It is the perfect length, just long enough without being too long. It is a little heavier than a wind breaker but not too heavy. The only minor thing is that the zipper is a little hard to use - a few times I have just had to use the snaps instead. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love It! I love this coat. It's a bit large but perfect for layering. Totally waterproof which I need as I live on Vancouver island and work in Real Estate so in and out of the car/office. The zippered pockets are the best! (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Sleek and comfortable! The contour of this jacket is spot on. Super comfortable, extremely flattering and very functional! I love this jacket - it is my new fave. Living in the PNW, Columbia never seems to fail on keeping folks dry - thank you Columbia. :)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great jacket, please redesign arm/shoulder fit to match size Delighted that my jacket came quickly! Love the length, colour, fabric, lining, 2-way zipper. I wear 1X, ordered 2X as per many review recommendations. Back is puffing out, not fitting at waist, lots of extra fabric in body. Sleeves are tight in upper arms, as many women said previously. Wondering why sleeves are tight and body so large. I don't have big arms, the proportions of this jacket seem off. I am returning the jacket and just ordered a 1X. After reading dozens of reviews, I am concerned that the 1X will fit great around the body but will be so tight in the arms and shoulders as to not allow me to wear a fleece or hoodie underneath... Please Columbia, many of us would love you to redesign this great jacket so the sleeves and arm holes are matching the rest of the body. Thank you for paying attention to our reviews. Looking forward to receiving my next jacket with some trepidation! P.S. Since I am returning the jacket, I didn't get to try it in the rain yet, so I put Average for Function as the form didn't allow me to leave that part blank. It is not reflecting on the jacket's performance in the rain at all. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Rain Jacket Overall I am pretty happy with this jacket. I did go up a size after reading other reviews of it running a little small and tight around the arms. The six who was perfect in the sense I can still wear a sweater comfortably underneath it. Its very light weight. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nice jacket, runs larger than expected This is a great "in town" rain jacket, but it definitely runs bigger than I have come to expect from Columbia coats. Definitely order down a size if you are like me and fit near the lower end of your usual size.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Too small in the shoulders :( Drat, Columbia! You have very well-made products and I could really use a new, good quality, truly waterproof rain jacket for hiking, wearing around town, and attending client sporting events in our lengthy wet season. My problem is your sizing runs small and you currently don't make any sizes that fit. I have tried your competitors' plus sizing, and they fit better, but their quality and technology is just not there. I bought this jacket in a 3X, which is supposed to fit a 24/26, in which I can fit from every other major store and manufacture. It can zip comfortably. although I definitely could not wear any other layers underneath. That would be doable, because I get hot when I hike and the winters here are pretty mild. But the problem is the shoulders. I am 5'8" and I have broad shoulders. I don't think I would rip out the shoulders because the jacket is well-made, but it is too uncomfortable, especially for the price. Why can't you size big, especially in the larger sizes? I mean, who would it hurt? A few extra inches on this thing would make it much more in line with market sizing and fit a larger number of people. Your customers can always size DOWN, but it's a lot harder to size UP... especially when you max at 3X. While you're at it, you could add some items in a 4X. That would also be lovely. It would be great to find extended sizes in stores, but it would be enough to be able to order them online. In another issue, the color is not what I expected. I ordered the dark blue-ish with dots, and in the pictures it looks more purplish or at least periwinkle in the dots. It is more like a navy blue with lighter blue dots. Just FYI for others. **I would gladly test sizing for you if you would make me a jacket that fits!! I live about 10 minutes from your office.**

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent raincoat I purchased this through Amazon thus it was easier since I live in Europe. Nevertheless, the coat is absolutely wonderful, its light, it's very generous sizewise. Also the pattern is quite nice, I bought the almost white one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great raincoat I wanted a lightweight raincoat I could fold small for travel. It fits in a 12 x 9 x 2 1/2 space WITH my iPad in my purse. Ordered size thinking I could wear insulated coat underneath, which I could. This made it more versatile for travel to Alaska, Iceland and Greenland. My purse also fit inside, keeping it dry, too. Love it, and would buy again, recommend. Love the blue nocturnal color, zipper and snaps, and especially the length! YES, waterproof.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Amazing Jacket I used this jacket while in Iceland and it was perfect. I stood behind and beside waterfalls and didn't get wet at all. The only design change I think that is needed is that the hood of the jacket needs to be a little deeper but aside from that minor issue, this is a great jacket. I love that I was able to find such high quality for a plus size women! (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great jacket! This jacket fits great and covers everything, it's just the right length! I usually wear a XL but got a 1x because I wanted to be able to wear sweatshirts or sweaters underneath, definitely the right choice in size, it has a little room and is comfortable with anything!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Pretty "Chubby Woman's" rain jacket This Columbia Woman's "Splash a Little" rain jacket is PERFECT !!! There are not a lot of options for Plus Size Women out there but Columbia made this a "no brainier". It has a two way zipper plus snaps for closure with Velcro adjustable cuffs & a gererous attached hood. I ordered the 1X...I normally wear an XL or 1X weighing in at 190 with hips of 47" I chose the red which is more like paprika but is soooooo attractive. It came in VERY handy on the golf course already keeping my upper body dry because we were hit with a torrential ran for at least a half an hour.
Date published: 2017-06-22
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very nice jacket I considered three different rain coats from Columbia, but chose this jacket for its rainproof claim , the others were water resistant. Other reviews said sizing was small, and I wanted it for layering over a sweater, so I got the next size up. It's a bit big, but the Velcro wrist tabs keep the sleeves in place . It's an excellent jacket for travel!! Just roll up and stow in your carry on and you will be prepared for any rain storm that comes your way !

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not a suitable style I really needed a good rain jacket for travelling and I thought this one would be the one. Unfortunately, the cut/style of this coat is very odd. As others have stated, the sleeves are unreasonably long, and the coat flares out considerably from the waist over the hips. Also, I ordered the Sedona which is not at all grey as it appears on the screen but a dull khaki colour. Overall, very disappointing. I had to return this jacket. On a related note, when I previewed this review, the site indicates that this review was "incentivized" -- I'm not sure what that means but I was not incented in any way to write this review. Rated 5 out of 5 by from First review I really like the Columbia products, where it does run a tad smaller than I would like, it is a great quality jacket and I look forward to it raining so I can wear it!! (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great little jacket I bought this jacket primarily for the wet spring and fall days on the East coast, but now I find I grab it all the time. It's so easy, lightweight, multifunctional and folds up well. The hood is too big, hard to see when you have it up but other than that I love it. I bought 2X and I can easily fit a bulky sweater underneath. The black is classic but I think I'd like one in a brighter colour too. Definitely recommend this product. Rated 3 out of 5 by from Nice looking jacket, but definitely not waterproof Got this jacket to wear outside walking the dog or working out in the rain. The fit is a bit strange, tight in the shoulders but loose elsewhere. Still,I liked the looks of it enough to keep it. And needed a waterproof jacket, which is hard to find in plus sizes. Had this jacket out for the first time today in a steady drizzle for an hour and 20 minute walk. Got home to discover that I was pretty wet. Shoulders, arms, chest, tummy and even back were drenched. And there's no way it was sweat. The jacket seems to breathe well, but I'd in no way call it waterproof. I'm very disappointed. I'd had such high hopes that it would be as advertised, waterproof and breathable. In hindsight,it's not worth the money I paid (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fall/Spring Jacket I ordered a 2X as I am a size 18-20 however in retrospect I should have paid more attention to other reviews and ordered up. The sleeves are snug and would not be able to layer well for winter thus my review title is for Fall/Spring. Item would be better with a raglan sleeve.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Like wearing a trash bag There is no lining on the arms. If your arms are wet when you put it on, your arms stick to the fabric. I expected better from a well respected company and for the price. It doesn't breath at all. I ended up taking it off and hiking in the rain with my rain pants only. I was very dissatisfied.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from I am soaked as I'm writing this I live in Portland and am currently in San Francisco where it's drizzling, I've had this jacket for a little over a month, and I am soaked. I've walked for about 40 minutes in the drizzle this morning and the inside of the jacket is wet. My upper back started feeling cold and damp within minutes. Totally inadequate. I have several other Columbia products that I like, and I like this jacket but it's worthless if it doesn't keep me dry.
Date published: 2016-12-10
Rated 4 out of 5 by from perfect rain jacket for daily use Love the cut of this jacket. My friend bought it is blue and it was so stylish, not bulky and kept her dry. I had to get one too. Perfect for fall/spring showery days when you don't want to look too sporty. Fabulous for travel because it can pass for evening activities. The black is a little dull compared to the other colors. I wish it has a little visual texture like the blue, or that it was charcoal--something a little different.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Buy True fit (which is important) i was able to wear a hoodie underneath and was still fine to move around, certainly keeps me dry and most of all I love the print! It's rain season in Seattle I'm sure I'll be using it all the time!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Splash A Little Rain Jacket This is perfect for rainy Washington and Oregon weather. It's waterproof and longer than most typical rain jackets, which is exactly what I was looking for. The fabric is a periwinkle blue with a patterned background. The jacket is well-made - the quality I've come to expect with Columbia products.
Date published: 2016-11-24
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Dry in Sleeting Rain Purchased jacket for my walks to the gym in the heavy winter rains in Vancouver. I had to remove the tags attached to the zipper in order to try the jacket on when I received it; however, having done so, I discovered I couldn't return the jacket for a smaller size once the tags were removed which was annoying. I wear the too large jacket with a heavy hoody under it which is fine for the winter months but unfortunately, will have to purchase another jacket in a smaller size once the spring arrives. The jacket definitely keeps me dry on my walks to the gym and has a dressier look if I want to pair it with jeans for a trip to the mall. Highly recommend this style although, unlike the picture online the jacket is NOT fitted through the waist and is more boxy looking. The length is great but it would be nice to have a drawstring on the bottom. If you think you need a 3x per sizing chart, try the 2x first.
Date published: 2016-11-14
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Overall a good product, but some minor complaints. I thought this coat would fit a little longer judging by the photo, but as others have said, it's a little boxy in plus sizes. I'm also tall. That said, it's got plenty of length in the arms, which is wonderful if you're tall and/or broad shouldered or just have long arms. Nothing ruins a jacket intended for weather like the sleeves being too short, so I'm very happy about the sleeve length on me. The fabric is noisier than I would like, but the jacket is lightweight, which is what I was looking for so I can walk the dog in summer rains without completely dying from heatstroke. I'm a 1x/2x on top and 2x on bottom in Columbia gear. I got a 2x to make sure it would zip comfortably over my hips, and this has enough room for a Benton fleece jacket underneath for cooler weather. The "ruby red" colour is a very pink red. It matches the colour on my screen better than its name. I wish Columbia stocked a true red or a slightly darker red. The pinky reds that most things come in for the last season or two are not really doing it for me.
