Women’s Storm Surge™ Rain Pant is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 118.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Storm surge rain pants Nicely made. Runs true to size, however if wearing over jeans consider sizing up. Purchased for travel in Iceland this fall so have not worn as of yet. Remains to be seen how water repellent these are.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Water Gear Got these for outdoor game coverage. As an athletic trainer, I need to be ready for all types of weather. These were perfect. Got them a week ago and this weekend stood in the rain for 4hrs Friday and 6hrs Saturday in the rain. I wore solo on Friday but Saturday I added leggings as the temp had dropped (and I hate to be cold). I’m a size 14 in Columbia so the XLs were perfect. A little more space would be nice so I could pull on over work pants in case the weather turns. In the cases above, I knew it was going to rain the whole game.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from everyone in the family owns these We love these pants, my son wears them as a professional dog groomer, I wear them rowing a dragon boat, and oh, they work for hikes in the rain too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked great in multiple elements! I purchased these pants specifically for my trip to Iceland where I knew layers would be needed and ones that could repeal rain. These pants worked great! From everything to exploring ice caves to hiking in down pour rain, these pants did everything I needed and then more. When raining I was always left dry, they were great for a bit more warmth (more as a wind breaker than actually giving warmth themselves), and were perfect or folding up small to add in my day hiking backpack. Highly recommend!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Too big and too long for me I am 5' 1". I wear size Medium for everyday pants but for this Columbia rain pants, I need Small if not X-Small. Return it to store. Great quality though. Will recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect light weight material. Will wear these year round in rainy weather.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Stay dry My daughter and I each had a pair of these for a recent trip to Iceland. We wore them on several rainy hikes and were always dry at the end.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fantastic product!! If you’re planning a trip where you will encounter rainy climate or happen to live in a rainy town, get these pants and throw them over your pants. Great price point. I traveled to Iceland during a rainy and cold season. I wore these pants pretty much everyday and stayed completely dry and warm in 40 degree weather and a wind shield minimum approx., 25mph. These pants performed amazingly well and did a great job cutting the wind 100%. Unfortunately, day before left.... I was wearing snow shoes on a glacier and the metal underneath my snow shoe cut the ankle part of my left rain pant. I would recommend gaiters or a ankle strap to stear clear from cutting the pant! Best pants though!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from As expected Purchased these to replace a torn pair of Frogg Togg pants, to wear with a PFG rain jacket. The size was as expected, I purchased to fit ok either alone or over shorts or jeans and they do. The length is good and will work with boots or boat shoes, I am pleased with them so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable and kept me dry! I am 5'4" and 120 lbs, and these pants fit me so well. They kept me dry in Patagonia and elsewhere without making me feel overheated. I am glad I purchased these!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE, LOVE, LOVE! These waterproof pants are awesome! I wore them during several tours we did in Iceland (including whale watching, the Golden Circle tour and riding Icelandic horses during a snow shower), and they kept me warm and dry. I was nervous about sizing since I planned to wear them over layers. I'm 5'6", 123lbs., and I ordered them in small. I wore thermals, fleece leggings, regular leggings and these waterproof pants on top, and the fit was perfect. The waist stretches so you are able to easily layer. They looked good and felt comfortable. I will probably order a few more!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable Fit I bought these for a trip to Iceland. I wore them every day of our 10-day trip. They were easy to get on and off over my base layers and hiking shoes. They also provided warmth as a wind break. They are lightweight, and didn’t feel bulky. They are a great length as well. I highly recommend this functional and versatile layer, which will keep you dry in horizontal crazy rain!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Rain Pants! Keeps you super dry. Pants are long enough, and bottoms of legs are adjustable to fit over boots if necessary, then make snug with velcro tabs. Also, nice fit for "Large." Roomy enough to wear over sweat pants.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love these pants! These pants are very comfortable, and the length is perfect for my rain boots. They keep me warm and dry. Highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked Great Hiking in Iceland My daughter wore these on a college trip to Iceland. They went on daily hiking trips to waterfalls, hot springs, and through icy terrains. She layered these over long johns and nylon pants, and they kept her warm and dry. They run large, so we exchanged the small for x-small, and they fit fine.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product!! I have worn this rain pant and the rain jacket at recent sporting events and they are great protecting me from wind and rain. I highly recommend these products!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from WOMEN’S STORM SURGE™ RAIN PANT Great addition to my gear. Have had no issues in a light or a heavy downpour, even on extended hikes.
Date published: 2018-02-22
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keeps you dry I wore these for six hours in heavy rain and they kept my legs and behind dry. The only issue I had was the velcro coming undone once on each leg. I was bushwhacking in muddy terrain and it may have caught on something. I am a size size 8 and the medium was snug, but not constricting. The length for me was a bit long I may see if my seamstress can cut them down a bit. There are no pockets but there is an inside pouch.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Worked well Walked in the rain for hours with these and they stayed dry. I'm 5'5 140 fit well just a tiny tiny bit long. Medium

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exactly what I wanted! The Women's Storm Surge Rain Pant is exactly what I wanted! The pant fits over my jeans and the material is light weight, but durable. The quality is very good, especially considering the reasonable price. I am looking forward to staying dry while shoveling snow this year! Thanks again for another great Columbia product!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Rain Pants Extremely comfortable and do keep you dry underneath, can easily layer other clothes underneath. They block out wind, snow, and rain. They are great hiking in northern Minnesota in the spring and fall.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Waterproof and comfortable for trip to Iceland These were awesome to put over other pants when hiking near waterfalls where the chance of getting wet is 100%. I was able to easily take them off after and be dry and comfortable while off to our next stop! I bought a size larger so that I could easily get them on and off.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good rain pants Actually order these for my mom since she goes on cruises up to Alaska where they get a lot of rain. She's very happy with them! They run very true to size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Storm Surge Rain Pants Great rain pants. I bought a second pair! Cuts the wind too. Adjustable at the ankle to fit over my hiking boots. Wish they had pockets, but my matching rain jacket does, so it's not that critical. Washable, but holds a lot of water even after going through spin cycles.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from These pants are just what I was lookin for Was looking for wind/rain/snow pant to wear over my jeans when going for walk or skiing. They have been everything I was looking for at a good price point.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Excited I bought these in preparation for an upcoming trip to Iceland where I've heard rain pants are a must. I've never owned a pair, but I am really excited to give these a whirl. They are very light weight and will take up next to no space in my suitcase. I think these will also be pretty nice wind-breaker pants.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great work gear I work outside in the pacific northwest and it gets really wet out here. I like the fact that these rain pants are breathable, wind proof and keep me dry. I'm 5'5" tall n weigh 142 pounds, and i can still fit my base layer and warm sweats under these rain pants and they're still very comfortable.
Date published: 2017-12-20
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very happy! I am 5'6" and bought a size M, and they fit great! The ankles have the ability to velcro a little tighter, and they worked great during my 5 mile hike. Would highly recommend!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Grand Canyon River Rafting I purchased these pants to keep me dry, rafting in May. They are perfect, in that they easily pull on over regular pants. There is velcro at the ankles to tighten, which will help keep me dry. As usual in Columbia brands I purchase medium size. (5'8", 135lbs., normal build). A personal footnote, these pants are not a fashion statement or even flattering, they are totally functional and out in the wildness, as far as I am concerned function is the number one priority.
Date published: 2017-12-14
Rated 5 out of 5 by from so good These pants will keep you dry for sure! They run a little large, but if you're wearing them for snow you have room to wear warmer pants underneath.
Date published: 2017-12-13
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good value Pants fit true to size. Fit comfortably over jeans. Good quality material. I only wish it had a slit to access pockets.
Date published: 2017-12-11
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very good waterproof rainpants These are very good waterproof rainpaints. True to size. The two things I think would enhance these pants are zippered pockets on the exterior as well as a zippered interior pocket for keys. I would also like snugger fitting velcro closures on the leg bottoms.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great comfy rain pants True to size, the waistband isnt too tight and these are quite comfy.Would recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from excellent rain pants These are great rain pants-- worked well for backpacking in the rain. Able to get them on and off over my tennis shoes but would probably have to take off my boots in order to get them on and off. (haven't done that yet). Would be nice to have a zipper in the low leg for that purpose and also nice to have a pocket-- but feel for the price they are awesome.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Pants Great pants to keep for outside wear. I just wish they had pockets! But for overall functionality, they keep the rain out and do their job.
Date published: 2017-10-05
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Durable Waterproof Rainpants but wish they were packable These rain pants have been great. I used them working grounds where I was always getting sprayed by sprinklers and such and never got wet. They have been used well and are still holding up. Great lil rainpants. Just wish they were packable and maybe had a couple side pockets or something. Great basic rain pants though.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for Southern Maine weather I wear these in rain or snow. The fit is nice, they are a little long on me but that's not a problem once I put on my boots.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Function vs. Fashion I purchased the Storm Surge rain pants at the last minute for a trip to rainy Scotland. They kept me perfectly dry over several days of rainy, muddy hiking, cleaned easily, and dried quickly. These are waterproof, not merely water resistant. A few things to consider: The elastic waist creates a "baggy butt" look on small people, the waist is rather high, and the pleated/velcro closure opening in the leg is not sufficient to slip the pants on over hiking shoes. Other than that, they fit nicely over light-weight hiking pants and are long enough to just cover the top of your hiking shoes but not drag on the ground on average height women. I am 5' 6" tall and weigh 113 lbs. I purchased a size XS. Kudos to Columbia customer service who went out of their way to get this product to me before my departure.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE these pants I do field work in prairies as a large portion of my job. These are THE BEST in the morning and keep me nice and dry. I love them and have no complaints, especially for the price.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pants for kayaking in cold water These pants fit over a pair of jeans and will keep you dry and toasty. We are headed to Alaska and they will be perfect.
Date published: 2017-06-23
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worked great, excellent price These worked excellently in the White Mountains, they kept me dry and warm in a mixed precipitation, high wind, cold situation. Fit over my hiking boots fine, stuffed small in my pack, and did the job as well as the $100 rain pants out there. Only thing I would change is the draw string because you have to tie it yourself instead of a cinch clip.
Date published: 2017-06-06
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent quality These pants are fantastic. They do what they are supposed to do and are built well. They don't have pockets but my rain coat does so its not a big issue. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Keep me dry Perfect rain layer! I live in the Midwest and we get rain through the summer so I needed something to keep me dry that wouldn't make me hot. No side pockets but there is an interior key pocket at the waistband. Fits a little long but I'm petite and they didn't come in a petite/short. Fit at the waist but I look a little lost in them. Oh well they keep me dry and that's the point...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Useful Great value for the money. Would buy again when these eventually wear out.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Love them! Perfect for my purposes as an outdoor preschool teacher in Seattle!
Date published: 2017-03-24
Rated 2 out of 5 by from VERY Large I ordered these pants with high hopes to use them on an upcoming outdoor hiking trip. I used the size guide to determine I would need a medium. I am 5'1'' and weight 138 pounds. These pants were GIGANTIC! When I help them up out of the bag, they were so long they came up to my chest. The pants had an extremely wide leg and I was so disappointed that they would not work for my trip. The bag they came in was also missing any kind of order slip or directions on how to return. Very sad that these didn't work out.
