Women's Switchback™ II Jacket - Extended Size is rated out of 5 by 42.
Rated 2 out of 5 by Niecy68 from Jacket not true to size I ordered this Women’s Switchback Jacket in a 3X. The size said 3X fits sizes 22-24 which isn’t true , the size is more of a XL. Plus it has no lining in it & is very thin. I’m very disappointed in this purchase

Rated 5 out of 5 by notmyrealname from light weight and packable Needed some protection from Seattle drizzle -- this jacket provided that protection, without the bulk and weight of a regular rain coat. Folded up into a neat, compact pouch to easily stow in my carry on bag. The fit felt just a little tight through the upper arms, compared to other Columbia jackets the same size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Sarahlizzy72 from Great staple in my wardrobe! I purchased this jacket for a trip to San Francisco ( I live in Florida) and it was a crucial, everyday piece while I was there. It was great on its own while I was just browsing th city and great for layering when I took in a Baseball Game. This jacket will also be great for the afternoon summer rain in Florida. Overall, I am thrilled with my jacket!

Rated 5 out of 5 by AlexElaine11 from Great Color I bought the dark raspberry colored coat. I absolutely love the color true to the photo. I got a size up so that I could wear sweaters and thicker items underneath. Great fit.

Rated 2 out of 5 by mommabear45 from This product is very thin! Ordered this jacket for my daughter to wear during Michigan fall weather. The only thing that I really think this item has going for it is the pretty color. A jacket that does nothing but cover your clothes seems like a waste of money to me. It is just a cover for your clothes, no lining, won't keep you warm at all! If you want something to cover your clothes when you go outside, then this is the jacket for you! But if you are looking for a jacket to keep you even remotely warm, look elsewhere.

Rated 4 out of 5 by TaniaHDZ from Great Cost - wish it was bigger in the arms This is a GREAT Rain Jacket (not a cold weather jacket). Be aware, it is tight at the upper arms/shoulders. I am 5'9", weigh 230#, 38C.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Tif927 from Size chart sucks but good jacket As a reference I have a 52 inch chest and hip measurement. Based on all my measurements, their sizing chart told me I would be a 3X (usually I'm an XL in clothing). Tracking details did not update properly either, was told it would arrive one day and then it suddenly updated a day after it was scheduled to arrive saying it would be almost another week. When I got the jacket I put it on and it is huge! I have 6 inches of room around my chest and almost a foot of extra fabric around my midsection. Do not trust their sizing chart!!! Jacket is good quality and I like it otherwise. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by clemsontigergrl from Perfect jacket! I picked this jacket up in a department store but have been eyeballing this jacket for over a year. I was leery ahout buying it online due to the reviews about it running small. To me, it's true to size or just slightly larger than true to size. I wear a 3x and sometimes if it's small then it's tight across my chest or even arms. I wear a size G bra and have fleshy upper arms and this jacket fit me comfortably.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Yelli from Great little jacket! I wish I hadn't listened to the reviews on this running small... Mine is actually too big, but I kept it to avoid the hassle of returning. I probably could have gotten away with a 1x.

Rated 5 out of 5 by BethAnn from Arrived At The Right Time The day my Switchback II jacket arrived, a weather front came through with high winds and drenching winds. The jacket kept me warm and dry. The jacket fit well, protected me, and when I got inside it took just a few shakes to remove water. Once dry, I folded the jacket and stuffed it into its packable pocket. As usual, Columbia came through with a perfect product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by StaceyN from So Pleased with This Purchase! A careful reading of the product description and the many online reviews meant I felt pretty secure in what I was buying here. This is an ultra lightweight rain shell that breathes well and is perfect for wearing over layers - the ultimate Spring jacket, if you will. I've already tested it in our constant Oregon rains, and it repels water perfectly! Because of warnings that it runs small, I sized up (I normally wear a 2x, but ordered a 3x), and the fit is perfect. I love that I can pull the drawstring to adjust it at the bottom - which falls just below my hips, and that I can adjust the wrists and also the hood to fit how I like. The pockets are nice and deep, which I like. The *only* drawback is that the collar is quite large - I can't imagine wearing this with the hood rolled into the zippered pouch on the collar, because then there is no good option for folding it down. Even with the hood out, the collar feels a little unruly and large. But this is minor compared to the overall style, comfort, and awesome functionality of the jacket. This is exactly what I was looking for!

Rated 3 out of 5 by ColumbiaWearer99 from Could be better I have a Men's version of this jacket from about 10 years ago. The collar on the men's is not nearly as high as the collar on this jacket. Also, it runs small in the hips. The 3x barely fits and I usually wear a 2x. Thankfully I read the reviews here saying the jacket runs small especially in the hips, which is weird considering this is Plus size! Also, on the older men's version I have, the wrists have elastic, this jacket has velcro. Its okay, I got it on sale, but the sale price should be the normal price.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Leprinly from Inaccurate description This is not a jacket. It's a shell at best. Very thin. More like a windbreaker than anything.

Rated 3 out of 5 by gram65 from A very light jacket! I was disappointed with this jacket it was more a thin windbreaker. Not a real bargain and certainly not for cold weather!

Rated 4 out of 5 by designr1005 from Very lightweight I just received this jacket and really like it. I ordered it a size larger based on previous reviews and I am glad I did. There is enough room to wear a little thicker shirt under it since it is unlined. Being a plus size the darts on the back of the waist are nice, they make the jacket not so boxy gives a nice shape. I'm not sure I like the velcro at the wrists, would have preferred elastic. The collar is rather tall with the hood tucked in but if you take it out then the collar can fold down.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Wendy53 from Perfect light rain\wind jacket Perfect light rain\wind jacket for our weather in the Pacific Northwest. Love the high collar to block the wind and how it frames the face in a flattering way. Bought as a gift for my daughter. She loves it.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Socalgirl23 from Size runs small but great quality I purchased this jacket online for myself and it looked thicker/heavier in the picture. The jacket seems to run smaller than anticipated and it is basically great for rainy weather but not cold and rainy. The jacket is very light/thin in size which is great for the outdoors during rainy spring/summer/fall outings. I love that the hood is concealed in its own compartment. I ended up giving this jacket to my daughter to wear in the spring. She loves it!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Alohasarah from Great Light Weight Jacket This is a pretty great light weight jacket. The color is great, super light weight, and can pack away real small. Downside is the jacket was pretty snug in the chest and waist areas. If I had bought in store I probably would have gone a size up, but since I ordered online I'll keep and just wear with thinner tops under. For reference I'm 5'6" and range between a Columbia XL and 1X depending on fit.

Rated 5 out of 5 by wanderlust86 from Great For Travel I tried this particular jacket on in the store in my usual size and it was a bit snug - consistent with other reviews. I purchased it online 1 size up and it is perfect. I love this jacket! We've had a lot of wet weather lately so it's getting plenty of wear and it hasn't failed me yet. It's a perfect piece to have if you plan to travel, it rolls up pretty small.

Rated 5 out of 5 by wonderoftravel from Fits the Bill I bought this jacket as a very lighweight, packable and waterproof jacket to take on vacation. It worked great. I was traveling in summer to climates that averaged around 60 degrees and were rainy. The jacket kept me warm and dry, although at temperatures below that you would want something with a lining.

Rated 3 out of 5 by IJRam from They weren't lying when they said "Light" jacket It is literally just the soft shell. If you need a windbreaker or rain barrier this is perfect. If you need something a little warmer I would recommend looking at other jackets with some sort of interior lining. I was looking for something a little warmer, but figured I'd keep this for the occasional rain. Thumbs up for the hide-away hood!

Rated 5 out of 5 by warwalksforhealth from Great coat! I bought a 3x (as with my fleece) And it fits well over my size 22-24 bootay. The upper arms are big enough! It has a hideaway hood which I love, because I hate my hood flopping around with my backpack! I can actually just get it on over my fleece for that great layery look. I think my only carp about it would be that it was thinner than I was expecting and as it is a squall shell, it doesn't breathe as well as I had hoped... but it is awesome. It is super light and packs into its pocket! What isn't to love?

Rated 5 out of 5 by Stephanie500 from Love this rain jacket! I bought this rain jacket to take with me on a cruise to Alaska. I bought one size up, so I could layer it with a sweatshirt if needed. Absolutely love it! I bought the Groovy Pink, and love how the color pops. I can see me wearing it after the cruise as well with a pair of yoga pants when I work out, or just with a pair of jeans on rainy days. I am thinking of buying another one in a different color.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Fargo from Great color and true to size. So far I really like the jacket. It is light and a wonderful color. The collar may be a little much for me, but it will be great when I need to zip it up all the way. It seems a little awkward when it is left open at the top.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Brenda12 from Great light weight rain jacket! I love this rain jacket because it fits so well and it is light weight for when you just need it for rain. I did not want a heavy weight jacket for just running around doing errands in on those rainy days. If I need more warmth, the jacket has enough room that I can wear a sweater under the jacket if need be.

Rated 3 out of 5 by pdxgal from Lighter than I thought The jacket is fine. It's much lighter than I thought. It's just a shell or windbreaker, so if you want warmth you have to layer like crazy underneath. I like the way it fits. It's a great jacket if it's not cold or windy outside. Great for hikes and bike rides in warmer weather.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Ladysapphire from Ladies Switchback II jacket I ordered extended sizing 2X I usually buy 1X but thought about wearing a sweater under this jacket so got the bigger size but it fits more like a 1X as there is no stretch in this jacket. I got Groovy Pink and love the vibrant colour.

Rated 4 out of 5 by beachlover2 from Nice jacket Bought this jacket to take on a trip to Cape Cod and was very pleased with it's performance. We faced cool winds, foggy nights and heavy rains, this jacket kept me dry through all. Light weight but sturdy material made it a joy to pack, carry around and wear.
