WindbreakerNice jacket. Thin material so adds no bulk. Material is a bit transparent so you’d see whatever is under potentially.

Gorgeous jacket! Wish for hood & improved breathabilityTruly this is a gorgeous jacket. I bought the coral/raspberry color. It genuinely makes me feel beautiful whenever I put it on. The fit is flattering, wide at the bottom, skims the hips. I am 5'5, 120, bought size M.
Adds great warmth for its weight while running. Tissue weight (3.4 oz, same as the hooded Patagonia Houdini - sorry, this is the other similar jacket I happen to own and am largely comparing it to). Blocks wind, traps warm air. I tested the Montrail and found it fine for running in temps from 30s through 50s with only a short-sleeve tshirt and capris, plus light hat & gloves in the 30s.
- After a 4-mile run in cool (40s) temperatures, the forearm fabric was damp and actively sticking to my skin. My core (underlying tshirt) was also damp, but less so, at this point. So the jacket has some breathability problems. No dampness up to about 3 miles, though. Design-wise, I personally would advise looser sleeve closures with an adjustable tab at the wrist, to allow better venting here when needed. Not sure whether the softer fabric on the sides & underarms helped with venting or not.
- The heavier, softer fabric around the inner collar flaps annoyingly when the jacket is at all unzipped; you need to tuck it under to keep it still. But this is manageable.
-- But in its favor, the jacket does stay on well when the zipper is down for venting, unlike similar jackets (Patagonia Houdini) which slip off the shoulders when the zipper is lower than bust level. This may be due to the Montrail's greater collar weight?
-- I very much wish the jacket had a hood, to help it function as a backpacking wind jacket in addition to a short-distance running jacket.
My summary: Absolute gorgeously styled tissue-weight running jacket, great for shorter distances (<4 miles) in cooler temperatures (30s through 50s).

Just right for runningThis windbreaker is just right for running. I needed something for my upcoming marathon and this was just the ticket. It's breathable but keeps the weather out so I didn't overheat when the sun was out, but I kept dry when it rained (yes, on the same run! Thank you, Oregon!). Definitely recommend, nothing negative to report.

Very niceI bought this jacket to keep me warm post run and it serves its function well. I do wish that the white fabric was a touch less see through as I like to take my shirt off and wear just the jacket post run, I can't do that with this jacket which is the only reason it didn't get 5 stars. I is extremely light, although I haven't checked the water resistance it does appear that it would be.
