Men's Redmond™ Waterproof Mid Hiking Shoe is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 39.
Rated 1 out of 5 by from not waterproof Shoe fits well and is comfortable but not at all waterproof. Hiked in the rain and feet and socks were soaked every time. I will not be buying anything waterproof from Columbia again.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Runs small, narrow, outward heel lean I wish this would have fit me but too small and narrow. Even the wide was slightly too narrow for my foot and i dont usually wear wide shoes. Im on the larger side of normal width. My big toe was rubbing the side, but it could have been cause of the heels outward lean. They were very cushioned and if it fits your foot and duck walk would be great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great for work.... I received a pair as a Fathers Day gift and I can't be much happier. As an IT guy I'm using this shoes to work on the field, most of my time stand up or walking and they are very comfortable and lightweight. Well made, good quality and flexible material. They go well with cargo pants and Khakis..yeap Khakis!! I do recommend this shoe and I definitely going to buy the Black/Gypsy ones.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good for casual and hiking A day after buying I used for casual walk totaling 18000 steps, and I was very much satisfied with the overall quality, grip, weight and comfort of the shoe. After that, I have made several small hikes and seems to work great so far.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from big man, narrow feet size 15 shoe, however, I have rather narrow feet. This is my 2nd pair of similar shoes (loved the first one so much that I wore out the treds). First time wearing was much different, as the old ones were molded-over-time to my pencil-like feet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Product I love these shoes, durable, comfortable, and have good ankle support. The waterproof part is great for those early morning hikes when the dew is on the grass.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great mutipurpose all-terrain footwear When I was trying to find a pair of shoes that I could use at work, on the trail, or on city walks that provided the support and cushioning that I needed, I tried other brands but never found the right ones. I discovered these Redmond mid height shoes (Cordovan and Dark Banana) that look great and feel wonderful. I just bought a second pair!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from All-around light hiker Needed a light weight all-around summer boot. I use as an office or day boot; good fit and comfort.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great shoe but...... I bought these shoes about 9 months ago to wear when I do a lot of walking on concrete for my job. The boot is very comfortable. I added an athletic insert (like I do with all of my shoes) for added comfort. Boots have worn very well except that I noticed a slight split along the pinky toe side of the right shoe. I thought I snagged or torn my shoe somehow. Wasn't too happy because it is a really good shoe. Then I noticed the same split on the other shoe. I looked at the split as I walkek and the shoe creased in the same spot where the material had separated on both shoes. Hopefully I can return them and get a very similar shoe but with a non-mesh toe box.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great boots Great boots just need to break them in. They run just a little small.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Number One Hiking Shoe Purchased this product recently, excellent for hiking/walking/or basically anything. The tread on the shoe is true and you can essentially cross any terrain at ease. Would recommend this product to anyone. You will never slip on mud, ice, etc. and your feet will never get wet due to the shoes superior impermeable layer.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Excellent but not waterproof I bought these because they have minimal arch support and are very comfortable. I chose the waterproof model to wear year round but they have leaked since day one.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding Hikers These are possibly the most comfortable hiking boots I've ever owned. Size is spot on and the feel of these boots is incredible. They are so light in weight they are like not having boots on at all. Add to that they are TOTALLY waterproof, which makes them the perfect hikers. I can't attest to how hot they will be on my feet in warmer weather, but I am very pleased with my purchase.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from So Not Impressed! My previous pair of Columbia boots were North Plains(I think) and I couldn't have been more impressed with them. I was expecting a similar experience with this and couldn't have been more disappointed. I've had these boots for around three months and there is now a small but growing hole in the toe boot area. When I buy a pair of hiking boots I expect a heck of a lot more that three lousy months- a boot with a hole in it in winter is kind of useless. Second, I don't know if it's the tread design but the traction is awful. Walking on ice or even really hard-packed snow is a nightmare- I might as well be wearing a pair of wing-tips for all the good these do me. Lastly, who's the genius that decided to join the pack and make the heels slightly rounded? This is a trend I've noticed with other manufacturers and it's impossible to understand what they were thinking. People wear hiking boots to provide a stable platform on rough terrain. Do I really need to say that rounding the edges of the heel has the opposite effect? Overall, a cheaply made, badly engineered excuse for a hiking boot.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect fit and function True that it is slightly small, in length, width and volume, which makes it a perfect fit for my foot. I already ordered another pair. Great tread, lightweight and medium flex. Please build more "slightly small" shoes so I don't have to fill excess volume with insoles.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from One of the best hiking shoes I ever had I purchased it online few months ago, this year (2016). Initially I purchased it and had to return the pair as it was having water seepage issue. Then I returned it and got this one. Initially I was hesitant due to that initial setback. But I liked this new color (Brown) more, which is different than the the color mentioned in the website. I started using it almost daily during my walking and hiking activities. I also use it for normal daily wear, as it's almost equally comfortable as my sneakers and many sports shoes of reputed brands. The shoe is among the best fit shoe for my 10.5 size feet. It's very comfortable even for long duration. The shoe is well designed inside too, wrap the my feet very nicely. All the contours of my feet seem to be well managed inside the shoe. There is no water seepage issue in this pair, so far. The shoelace is also of perfect length and of good quality. It remain tightly fastened, and not become loose or opens up, unlike many other shoes. I would also appreciate Columbia if they keep such shoes in its retail outlets. That would give many customers like me to know the actual color, size and fit before we buy. I would surely recommend it.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Redmond hiking boot I find this pair of hiking boots true to size. I find it very useful in this AZ terrain, and like wearing it just about anywhere that I go. The traction of the soles is great. Indeed I would recommend this to friends or family that love the greater outdoors. Thanks Columbia for such an amazing pair of hiking boots. I am satisfied.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Shoe Great shoe that is light weight. So far it seems to be holding up to any water I step in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I'm happy with them I'm 6'9" about 270 lbs, size 15 feet and have gout. Footwear that fits well and is comfortable to wear for hours is difficult to find, and that's if you don't care what it looks like (I do). Since I bought my first pair of Columbia footwear not very many months ago I've bought at least a half dozen more pairs. These are comfortable to wear for hours when you are on you feet, at least outdoors.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best hiking shoes I got these shoes at a sports store thinking those look comfy. Well let me tell you they are. I use them to hike with the dogs and mountain bike. These are the best shoes i have ever owned. Good looking shoe too! If I was you I would get a pair. Im getting my second.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Men's Redmond Waterproof Mid I have been using these boots for the last year and have been thoroughly impressed. I have used these hiking, hunting, and while teaching water quality classes and conducting aquatic insect surveys. They have worked as advertised, they have enough padding they are very comfortable but are light enough they do not cause added fatigue.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Work Boots I wear these boot every day for work and I love them. This is my second pair for work. I was so pleased with my first pair that there was no question where I was getting my replacements! Thank Columbia for making great products!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Little small Purchased last November, just recently tried on, to small. After 60 day warranty had to get store credit. Never had this problem with Columbia shoes before usually run true size. I have been a loyal customer for twelve years and have always been impressed with the comfort and reliability of Columbia hiking boots.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pair of every day shoes, indoor and out I wore these daily on a 6 month deployment to the Middle East. They have held up great and are still like new. They have the flex and feel of an athletic shoe but traction of a hiking boot. Good to go right out of the box and hands down the most comfortable and durable shoe that I've owned.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very Comfy, A Little Small My pair was the most comfortable boots I ever owned. They were just barely long enough. Also, I have a narrow foot but the boots felt like they were just the perfect width for me. So I think the boots definitely are a little shorter and narrower than one would normally expect. I hiked about 180 miles in Spain in them last September; the longest day was 27 miles. They were outstanding except that they weren't really waterproof. I sent them back under warranty and just received a credit for them. I plan to buy another pair because of the extreme comfortableness factor.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable This is the second time I bought this same shoe. I usually wear a 10, but ordered these in 10 1/2 and they fit great. This pair is actually a replacement for a pair I had problems with. Customer service was very helpful in getting me a replacement. I would highly recommend Columbia and will do business with them in the future.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Hiking Shoe A great choice for outdoor footwear. Use mine for hunting, shooting, hiking, skydiving- kills it for all the above. Fit is a tiny bit tight, but they're nice and warm and dry. Might even order a backup pair.
Date published: 2016-02-09
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Waterproof? Waterproof is a misleading claim. In light rain or walking through wet grass these boots will keep your dry but should you actually step in water forget it. Your feet will be soaked.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from GREAT FOR FLY FISHING IN MOUNTAINS I use these when fly fishing in the mountains. They give excellent support and dry quickly

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Runs Small Having worn shoes for nearly a half century, I know what an 11.5 boot feels like, much like Lloyd Bentsen knew JFK. All I can say is "This, sir, is no size 11 1/2!" As a result, I was never able to wear the shoes to hike. I did put them on and they felt good enough that I will pay the costs to return these and buy another pair-size 12 this time! I bought Megavents (a pair for my wife as well) also and they fit properly and were great-I'll write a positive review for them.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Is This The New North Plains? I just bought a pair of these because they look like the successor to the North Plains hiker. They were, quite simply, the best boots I've ever owned and at 52 I've owned a lot. I am 6'6" 285lbs and walk 4 miles each way to work every day. To say I'm tough on footwear is a gross understatement. Typically a pair of hikers or walking shoes last 3-4 months before they are beaten to a pulp and ready for the garbage. The North Plains lasted just over 15 months including the past two historically brutal winters. I was, and am, astonished. I'm betting these boots will give me the same service.
