Ryan is proud to have established a fund through the Northern Texas PGA to help junior golfers with financial needs pay for tournament fees or NTPGA membership dues.
In November 2009, his Foundation gave $100,000 to The Children's Hospital at Northwest Texas Healthcare System in Amarillo, Texas, to build the Ryan Palmer Foundation Healing Garden, which includes a nine-hole putting green. He also donated $50 per birdie and $100 per eagle to the hospital in 2010 as a part of Birdies 4 "Brighter Smiles."

Golf is the only thing Brian does left-handed, his biggest thrill outside golf is bow hunting. He only uses a quarter to mark his ball and he follows all of Atlanta’s pro teams AND the University of Georgia Bulldogs. His favorite movie is "The Natural" and his favorite athlete to watch is Todd Gurley. And, like many golfers, his favorite vacation spot is in Florida.
He always carries peanut butter sandwiches in his golf bag for a snack and all his family members are world-class scuba divers and spear fishers. His favorite app is Ducks Unlimited and his favorite gadgets are his firearms!

Boo played high school golf with fellow PGA member Heath Slocum and Slocum's dad, Jack, was his caddie during the finals of the PGA TOUR Qualifying Tournament. Nearby resident Joe Durant is a close friend.
Boo studied turf grass science at Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College and later worked as a laborer at the Monsanto chemical plant in Pensacola, Florida. His is nicknamed after his cartoon hero Yogi Bear's sidekick, "Boo Boo.” His real life hero is Ben Hogan. Factoid: Boo used to golf in rain pants because cotton pants caused him to break out in a rash.
