Coat is perfect
I have 3 of these coats. 1 for wearing for good, 1 for working, and 1 for snowmobiling. The fit is perfect. The warmth is great with bibs for snowmobiling, and functionality is great for active wearing.

Just what I was looking for.
I own a couple of Columbia 3 in 1 jackets but I needed a warm, lightweight jacket for everyday wear. This jacket fits the bill. It is warm but roomy and lightweight. Another winner from Columbia.

Lack of insulation
The jacket description says it is warm in cold weather and in reality it is not. Even with a light wind in temperatures in the 20's i can feel the wind come right thru and am cold. I am very disappointed in the jacket and believe I paid too much for the value I get from it.

Amazing Jacket
I bought this jacket in 2015 and loved it from the first day I wore it. Very slim feeling jacket so you don't get that bulky feeling. The silver lining inside helps keep you warm. I've worn in down to -5 degrees and felt warm with nothing but a T-Shirt and sweat shirt under it. Sadly I lost my first one during a trip and had to rush out and re-order the same jacket.

I Absolutely Love this Men’s Alpine Action™ Insulated Jacket. It’s very light but, extremely warm. I live in Chicago Illinois & our winters can get to negative 20 degrees & this particular coat kept me Extremely warm because of the layer of Omni Heat Insolation built inside of it. Another great winter coat filled with technology
This coat was my 3rd from Columbia in the last few years. Thanks to the Omni-Heat™ and Omni-Tech™ , I stay dry and warm in a breathable winter coat that looks sharp . This jacket is great for whatever the need. From protection of winter's bite to everyday use to ski/snowboarding with its removable / adjustable hood and snap back powder skirt. These coats will continue to be in my closet for years to come.

Love it
I was introduced to the alpine action jacket on a recent trip to the top of Pike’s Peak. It was 31° at the summit and boy, were these jackets a bonus. I knew I had to buy one as soon as I returned home to Connecticut. I am sure that I will be warm and dry this coming winter! Love this jacket and highly recommend it.

Versatile and great!
It is my second Alpine Action Jacket. I am very happy with this jacket. I use it for skiing in Cerro Catedral (Argentina). Withstands temperatures well below -20 ° Celsius, snowfall and light rain. It is really comfortable, with several pockets to store the ski pass, wallet, glasses and cell phone, the internal pocket has a little hole to pass by headphones cable. The fabric is very nice. If It had ventilation under my arms It would be the ideal five star jacket. I hope they can improve it with this feature in the future.

Feels great, but black is not black
Looks and feels like it will stand up to snow activities. But, although it claims to be black in color, it's not. It's kind of a dark blue/green color. Not worth it to return, since I think otherwise it's a pretty good jacket and a great deal.

Meaningful jacket
I have to say that I am not objective talking about this jacket. My father used to wear this versatile product all the time and the last image I have about him is with his black jacket, white shirt and his boots. He died a year ago, and I had a time where I can’t stop thinking about him. The other day I shopped the same jacket I can say that represents everything to me, I feel his dedication wearing this jacket.

Men's Alpine Action Jacket
Tested on Sugarbush slopes March 2019. Comfortable in some pretty cold early spring weather. Plenty of pockets for gadgets, etc., especially sleeve pocket for digitized ski pass. Good zippers and Velcro backup, too. Should be fine for winter 2019/spring 2020, given prospects for even more global warming. Hope to test it in Colorado then.

Light weight and Warm
I bought this jacket as a replacement for a previous Columbia 3-in-1 Bugaboo jacket. I loved that jacket and was hesitant to try this one.
However, I have been extremely pleased with the alpine action jacket. It is extremely light weight in comparison to my 3-in-1 as well as just as warm on cold windy days.
As of now I would highly recommend this jacket.

Great Parka
I love this jacket. It's light and warm and comfortable. After receiving it we had very cold temperatures (10-15 F) with high winds of 20 MPH with gusts tio 35 MPH. I tested it by 45 minutes outside shoveling snow in the brutal wind and I stayed very warm. Lots of other very cold and windy winter weather followed and this jacket came through great. It's not bulky so no problem driving in it. As other reviewers mentioned the little details are amazing too. The sizing is roomy so lots of room for layering or even going down a size.

Nice jacket
So far I'm impressed. The jacket seems to be well made and durable. It is warmer than I expected for how thin the jacket is, however, this is not a jacket for extreme cold without a layer or two underneath. Overall I like the jacket and expect it to last.

Best Snowboarding Jacket I've Ever Owned
I bought this jacket solely for snowboarding.
Sizing:
I'm 5'8" and 260 lbs, and I normally wear XXXL in other brands. I bought this jacket in 2X, and it fit perfect in most areas. Since the jacket has a bit of an athletic cut, it did feel a little tight around the waist when I bought it (I was 275lbs at the time).
I had lost 15 lbs between when I bought the jacket and when I hit the slopes, and by that time the jacket fit comfortably.
Performance:
The jacket did very well with keeping my dry and warm.
I wiped out a couple of times in some deep powder, and the jacket kept all the snow on the outside.
As for heat retention, I was only wearing a long-sleeve shirt and a Voodoo Vest for layering, and I was plenty warm in 13F degree weather.
The jacket is a pretty good middle-weight shell, and is not as bulky as other snowboarding jackets that I've owned in the past (other brands). I've also gone home wet & cold with the past jackets, and this was the first one I've owned that I can happily say did not happen after an awesome day on the slopes.

Great ski jacket!
Been skiing for 30+ years and have never found a better jacket than the Alpine Action, especially for the money spent. The pockets are well-placed and all zippered to keep out the cold and moisture. It is very lightweight, and I have great range of motion in it. It's not at all bulky, but I have worn it in -5 degree weather and still been warm with some layering underneath. I love the inside pocket on the left side for the phone and the removable hood. The sleeve ski pass pocket is great too. The colors are all very bright and stylish. I get a lot of compliments!

Everyday use in NE Ohio
I’m 6’1” 205 lbs and got the XL because my previous coat was that size. It’s a bit big and I think a L would’ve been perfect. But I got it on sale and they didn’t have a L to exchange for. The graphite with blue is a great color. This jacket is overall very good. The large mesh inside pocket isn’t very useful for everyday use. It’s too big and loose to hold anything well. I realize it’s designed for ski goggles, though. The other pockets are great. One negative is that the Omni heat fabric does not go into the sleeves for some odd reason. My wife has the women’s version of this same exact jacket (Alpine Action) and her sleeves have the Omni heat fabric. If I’m wearing s T-shirt, my arms get a little cold, but if I’m in a long sleeve, I don’t notice it. It’s also light and weighs much less than my previous coat. Overall, it’s a good choice.

Approved for the coldest of the cold
I needed a jacket that could handle temperatures and weather in ny as an aircraft mechanic. As a tech I’m subject routinely to -20F, winds gusting to 30-45 knots, ice, snow, rain, and hours out doors in these conditions. So my demands on a coat are fairly high. Also the coat couldn’t be to large or bulky b/c I work in tight confines. I reviewed many other competitors jackets such as “—hart” but I feel they have more of a construction worker look. I want to appear professional and stylish but more importantly stay dry and warm. This coat kept me warm and dry on the coldest day-19 with the wind chill blowing snow in ny. The Omni heat proved itself. Also when I went inside I wasent over heating. The hood works great. I’ve read mixed reviews about the hood but in my experience I think most of the problems occurred bc the hood wasent properly adjusted. There’s 3 adjustments. A Velcro strap down the middle of the hood and two elastic cords on the side. I adjusted them to my head and the hood works excellently. The pockets hold all my small tools and hardware I received lots of compliments on the good looking design and slim look. I purchased 2 more for co workers and we all love the product. It’s abrasive resistant to and spill resistant. I’ve had various fluids spilled on the coat and non of them stained the coat. When I work in extreme conditions I wear “—-armor”, a long sleeve shirt hoodie and the alpine coat for my upper body. Long johns sweats n work pants boots beenie gloves. So you have a full picture of my attire. Hope this helps. This jacket is amazing. I use to get super cold very fast. This coat allows me to layer maintain a slim appearance and keep my core temp up. I give the coat and Columbia my highest praise.

Hood not Helmet
Jacket fit great, was very warm and comfortable. The hood was too small to accommodate my SMITH HOLT helmet. If I put the hood over the helmet I could not move my head freely. Hood needs to be sized for helmet use if this jacket is going to be catagorized as a ski jacket.

Awesome jacket for a great price!
The tech in this jacket is awesome. Lightweight, warm, and flexible. Great jacket for a great price. Only issue is that is runs a little large, in my opinion so I had to return for a size smaller. If you like a bigger fit for skiing/snowboarding it will be perfect. If you like a fitted feel, you might want to get a smaller size than the measurements show.

Excellent Winter Jacket
I bought this and the Norwester II coat because I needed a nice winter coat for some travels to colder climates.
The alpine action coat is top of the line when it comes to waterproof and heat retaining technology. I felt like I was wearing an oven when I put it on. If I needed a more heavy duty jacket, I would definitely stick with this. I returned it because it was a little bulkier and longer than what I was looking for. It runs slightly long on the arms but as far as functionality, I highly recommend this jacket.
