Rated 5 out of 5 by DAA18 from Men's ascender doft shell jacket Great product for fall abpnd into winter. I realky like the big and tall sizes as I'm both and have a difficult time finding. Love the fact it's water repellant and the wind doesn't go through. What better place to wear this coat than Peggys Cove NS to really test it's warmth. Rated 5 out of 5 by AndersenH from Functional and Professional Our company buys Columbia jackets for all of our employees, and this is a great jacket for all weather-all purpose. It protects against the weather while still looking professional and fits well. Most of the guys who picked this option loved it. Only one complained that the sleeve length seemed on the short side. Would defiantly purchase again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by BigDude from Water Repellent and Breathable Excellent fit and quality, I’m 6 foot 2 and 280 pounds and the coat fits very well. I like the fact that it’s water repellent, good enough for light rain yet it’s breathable and the quality is very good (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by Roobdog from Great jacket for any occasion This is a really nice and versatile jacket. I have worn it on drizzling morning hikes and I have used it as the outer layer on cold nights out. This jacket is great. I like jackets with room to layer and this on has that.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SeattleLove from Columbia has You Covered Very well created jacket. My current conditions in the morning are briskly cold and warming throughout the day. Keeps the chill off your back and provides a good deal of warmth. Prevents any wind from getting inside. Front pockets have plenty of room for hands, even with gloves on. Collar is good size just below the ears when propped up. That's all the great stuff the Columbia does. Additionally in the wearing, if your going to layer, while there is ample room in the chest/back area, the arms can be a challenge to get your sleeves in. There are no interior pockets, would of liked at least one, two would of been better. The upper chest pocket is perfect for a cell phone but not much more than that. This is my second Ascender jacket, my other one being a Tall fit; covers great below the belt. I got this size to accommodate thicker long sleeves.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Hookem2 from Love my Columbia Ascender Jacket! I received my Ascender Soft Shell jacket and it is amazingly soft and very comfortable to wear. The jacket is not heavy and it is waterproof and windproof to keep you warm. Great jacket for my needs living in the South.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Jacksoew from This is what you're... Looking for in a jacket. Not too thick, not too thin, just right. It holds up great in Sacramento Ca, But can it hold up in Vancouver BC... we will be putting this jacket to the test on 12/15/17

Rated 4 out of 5 by Novaman from Good Jacket I bought this to replace an omnitech jacket that had the reflective lining that has worn out(loved that jacket). I had to go up a size as the Columbia jackets this year seem to be running small. Have always bought and have XXL but had to go to 3XL on this one to get my arms into. This is a nice jacket, but a little heavier and not as warm as the one I was replacing. Material is sturdy. Not as good against the wind as the ones in the past. I still like it though.

Rated 3 out of 5 by JohnP11 from Snug fit for 3X size A little disappointed that this fit so snug for 3X size. I have other Columbia jackets in 3X that feel good, but this runs small.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Gyver1 from The Jacket Finding clothes in my size is hard. I have to shop online for most of the things I need. It was very nice to find a nice jacket with the fit I needed. The worst thing about shopping online, is hoping the things you buy fit and do not have to be return. I will be shopping for more things at this site.

Rated 5 out of 5 by AtomicPunk from Great lightweight jacket This is the second one of these I purchased. Last year I purchased my first and really liked it. I don't like a bulky jacket and this does its job. the only reason I purchased a second was for the color. I also like the larger sizes this jacket comes in.

Rated 5 out of 5 by CanadaGlenn from Great quality. Even better price. I have a Columbia 3-in-1 winter coat which I bought in 2002. I'm still using it. Washes well. Wears well. Sturdy contractions amazing fabrics. So when I began looking for a softshell waterproof jacket there was really no question where I would go. This jacket is amazing. Great fabric. Nice build. Meant to last. Delivery to Toronto was 2 days. You can't beat that. I'm on a fixed income so buying quality products that are meant to last is important to me. This product fills that criteria. Rated 5 out of 5 by bcislandgirl from Great Jacket! Purchased this jacket for my husband. Fits great! Looks sharp on! He wears it daily as well as to work, great for business casual. He was at a job site in the rain the other day and was so pleased that the rain just beaded off the jacket and kept him warm and dry. It's very lightweight, so it's warm but not too warm as we live in BC in a moderate climate. Would recommend. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by NOLA from Great jacket I received this jacket as a Christmas gift and I have zero complaints. It fits great and is very warm, it also serves well as a rain jacket if you don't have one. I would tell anyone who is looking at this jacket to buy, to go ahead and get it you will not be disappointed. I normally wear a 3X but was bought a 4X because of ordering online and it still fits great.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SpikeTheRailroader from Just enough This jacket is just enough for active days, but can be a great layer over or under other clothing. It isn't meant as a winter stand alone jacket, but it is wind resistant and water repellant. It is good for how I layer my clothes and it is easily packable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Beeebs from Item as described This is a perfect jacket for 45-60 degree weather, lightweight, comfortable, and maintains body heat pretty well. Living in the South where it rarely gets below freezing, this jacket is very versatile, and still fashionable to wear in the office.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SomeGuyInNYC from Just as advertised. This coat has done everything it's description said it would. It has handled this NYC winter w/o incident and I haven't felt the need to layer up underneath it. I do have two very minor issues that are more of an personal preference. First, I wish it was an inch longer in length. Second, I wish it had an inside pocket. Other than that, I've quite happy with my purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Bethmarie from Excellent Quality This is my everyday go to work coat. After 2 years of heavy use it has stood up to the test of time. Comfortable in cooler weather (30F+) and warm enough to do quick outside work in cold weather (0F+). While the coat isn't rainproof, it will keep you dry until you can handle what needs handled and swap out your gear. If I could have one work coat from Columbia, this would be it. Looks VERY sharp when you put uniform patches and embroidery on it and the fabric doesn't snag or tangle on work gear that you may put over it (rigging or safety vests).

Rated 5 out of 5 by Traveler2016 from Favorite Jacket I am a big guy and the size scale is accurate based on the sizing chart provided. I absolutely love this jacket!!! I have 2 of them and they have replaced many of my older jackets. For weather below 30 degrees or rainy weather, I turn to my Columbia 3-in-1 jacket. I have been extremely impressed with all of my Columbia gear. Keep making the quality products and I will always be a customer!

Rated 5 out of 5 by 1DOC from Men's Ascender Big Man Being a large man most of my adult life I have had my trials with mail-order clothing NOT being what it is labeled as and then not fitting. I was truly ecstatic when I found out that Columbia had Big Men sizes in their Coats. I found this coat to be exactly as it was described on-line and it fits me great with even a little room to spare which is seldom the case. I can guarantee that the next time I am shopping for Big Men clothing I will start at Columbia.

Rated 1 out of 5 by Tidefan76 from Runs way too small I ordered this jacket and the Steens Mountain Fleece because this is one of the few companies to offer extended sizes. The fleece came in first. It did run a little small, but it zipped. The Ascender runs much smaller. Not only could I not zip it, but there were a good five inches of the zippers not even touching. It's like they were made by two different companies. What on earth.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Warmguy from Good light jacket! GOOD QUALITY! Runs a tad large but still fits. Works best in layers at colder temperatures (35°f). Jacket is stylish and not too bulky. Material also repels water as advertised. Useful pockets and red zippers pop against grey color of jacket. Good job Colombia.

Rated 5 out of 5 by SOG60 from Fantastic Jacket I've been wearing this jacket on a daily basis, and love it. It's warm, without being overly hot, and stands up very well in windy conditions. I'm 6'4 and a solid 290lbs, and usually wear 3xl jackets. Based on the other reviews I ordered a 4xl, and it fits perfectly. Excellent jacket so far

Rated 4 out of 5 by DanielleUy from Ascender™ Softshell Jacket with a pinch in the front The garment arrived ok, but in the front had a mark, like a pinch. May be it was consequence of mishandlig or so... it is a pity because the jacket is beautiful. Related to the size, I think I wrongly t00k the measures . I should buy one size smaller.
