Rated 4 out of 5 by tgtran from Better than expected I was looking for a good hiking shoes. Used Amazon Wardrobe to try various brands. Had Redmond, Merrell MOAB 2, and Salomon to try. Each shoes has its merits and faults. Decided on the MOAB but with Columbia great prices, I ordered the mid-cut Redmond. The day after it arrived, I took it out for a short hike, I was pleasantly surprised with the fit and comfort. It was much lighter than my Denali and it fits like it was made for my feet. With my previous hiking shoes, I have to add Dr Schultz insole. Now, I have to return the insole because it is not necessary with the Redmond. I hiked on sharp and slippery rocks at the beach - I was pleased with the traction the shoes provided. My feet were dry even after few hours walking around puddles of seawater. Can't attest for the durability since I only worn it for a couple of hikes. However, it appears to be tough. On the negatives, the shoes is sized a bit smaller - should get 1/2 or full size larger than what you normally wear.

Rated 4 out of 5 by NYcustomer from Good shoes though too narrow for me Great shoes, light, well made, ideal for me... Unfortunately, the "extra wide" is the "normal" width in other brands

Rated 1 out of 5 by FeetHurt from Very Poor Fitting Shoe This is the most uncomfortable shoe I have ever worn. It bears no resemblance to the size I ordered, despite the fact that it was labelled for my size. This gets a ZERO rating - after all, what is the single, most important thing one asks of a shoe? FIT!

Rated 4 out of 5 by MuskyDan from Hiking boots The Redmond boots are well made and have a nice cushion to them. I purchased the "Wide" size expecting them to be wide. They seem to be just a regular size and not the wide size that is listed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by JanV from My new hiking book I purchased these size 13 hiking boots using the "WIDE" selection and these are anything but Wide. I need a wide show. So now, like many shoes in the past, I will need to spend numerous hours breaking them in to stretch them wider. This causes countless blisters and lots of pain. Unfortunately, the quality of the shoe is great, so it's a necessary duty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by crwebb114 from Love this shoe I ordered this shoe for my husband. He is on his feed all day and has flat feet. Most shoes do not stand up to the test but this product did. It has a great arch and the shoe is very light weight even when wet. He is so satisfied with them that he had me order another pair, which I did today.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Lor2 from Third time's the charm After 3 tries I finally got the right size. I started with 8.5. Then ordered 8W. Ended up with 8.5W. I took the first two back to the store. It was all pretty easy.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Choz from Break them in! This a obvious with any shoe (breaking them in). I have wide feet and my right foot is slight bigger than my left. So that meant in needed a longer duration to break them in. Eventhough these are wide, I still feet them a bit narrow in the beginning. But after sometime they felt great. I mention this because at first I wanted to return them because I felt too narrow. So I say again: Great shoe Break them in!

Rated 2 out of 5 by megasmacky from Not Impressed They're nice looking boots but not up to the quality standard I usually get with Columbia. Both boots developed holes in the area of my pinkie toes. Also, these are not in any way waterproof. Not even a little bit. They don't stand up to rain, mud, wet grass, nothing. I had a pair of Columbia boots(no longer available) that were the best boots I've ever owned by a pretty wide margin so these were a giant disappointment. Rated 2 out of 5 by MRBeck from Small. Says size 12 wide, yet feels very narrow. Also much shorter then then size 12 should be. Had to return them & they didn't even carry that color nor did the store have my size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Thom1 from Great Value in a Boot Excellent value in a boot. Comfortable and looks good!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Burned2016 from Not the color listed The boot is listed as " cordovan and dark banana ", but the toe and sides are GREEN, and that is not even mentioned. Don't order if you don't want green boots, because you won't get a paid return label despite the clear erroneous color description.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kestrelco from Always on the move I have to do a lot of walking on hard floors (hospital) and other brand shoes made for that purpose either didn't come in my size, were styles I didn't like or just didn't fit well. I found this shoe - and fell in love. It's so well padded and shock absorbing I feel like I'm bouncing along instead of walking. I was developing some major arch pain and plantar problems, but these nipped that in the bud. I *love* these shoes. Despite being waterproof they're not too hot. The size is very true to regular shoes with no binding. They also *look* nice so it's a total win!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Brains from Shoes were short in length and not wide Shoes were not wide at all very tight and length was more like a size 11. Tag did show that it was a size 12.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MountainGal82 from Comfortable, Waterproof Hiking Shoes I bought these for my boyfriend, who is just getting into hiking. They fit him great right out of the box, and he likes them so much he's been wearing them everywhere that he can get away with it. We went on an 8k round trip hike the other day to really test them out. There was wet snow and lots of uphill, but his feet stayed nice and dry, as well as blister-free. These are great shoes!
