Rated 5 out of 5 by turfguru76 from awesome shoe for outdoors I'm a director of grounds at a university so my day may consist of 95 degrees in the summer to 12" inches of snow in the winter and all the other thing smother nature can throw at me in between. I have been looking for a shoe that would allow me to walk my campus grounds and sports fields 1st thing in the morning but not allow my socks to get soaked through my shoes. Well I have found the answer in Columbia's Redmond low hiking shoe. It is 100% waterproof and so so comfortable. My feet never get hot in the summer months and yet I can walk miles upon miles and still feel very comfortable. Plus even in muddy conditions they refuse to have mud packed on them to weigh them down. I would recommend these shoes to anyone in the outdoors or landscaping business.

Rated 5 out of 5 by RickCastle from Comfortable wear I bought these Redmond Low Hiking Shoes to also wear casually. They are very comfortable for daily walks around town, as well as very functional for last minute decisions to go on a trail or hike. I love them, and glad I made this purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Duke71 from Great pair of shoes Absolutely amazed at the comfort of these shoes. Little to no “break-in” period. Currently own two pairs. First pair is over a year old, well worn, but still very comfortable. I wear them 5-6 days per week working outside, landscaping,etc.. Going to order another pair soon

Rated 3 out of 5 by McButters from Nice shoe but poorly made I really wanted to like these shoes, they fit reasonably well, look good for a hiking shoe, and the price was reasonable. They aren't the most comfortable shoe I've owned but they weren't bad either, better insoles would probably have helped. The problem was that after a week a plastic piece protruded out of the heel and dug into my skin after wearing it for a few hours. It got to the point where I couldn't wear the shoe and my heel had a terrible blister and was raw from the chaffing. It was only on one foot but I can't trust the quality so I had to return them. I was always a fan of Columbia but this makes me question if I will buy their product again.

Rated 3 out of 5 by WJW21 from Narrow I love the look and feel of this shoe. Built well and lighter than i expected. However, if you have wide feet, do not get this shoe. It put an extreme amount of pressure on the outside of the foot.

Rated 3 out of 5 by MtnMan54 from 10 months later This is my 2nd pair of the Redmond hiking boot. I had to send the 1st pr back after 2 months as they started to leak after walking in wet grass. The 2nd pair I've had for about 10 months now. They are a very comfortable shoe, I put them on out of the box w/o any problems. I walk approx 3-4 mile per/day & I purchased these boots for the waterproof quality. I walk my dog in all kinds of weather or if its going to rain outside. Its now 10 months & again the shoes don't hold the wetness out just walking in wet grass from morning due or after a rain & my feet are soaked. I will not purchase these boots again as the waterproofing doesn't hold-up. I'm very disappointed in the Columbia quality

Rated 5 out of 5 by Wigwagn1 from This Hiking Shoe is a Good Value The Redmond low hiking shoe is the closest match I could find to Columbia's Pagora hiking shoe which is no longer available. It is not as well cushioned as the Pagora was, but the shoes fit me well and required no breaking-in period. Overall it is good value for the money.

Rated 5 out of 5 by FreedomWilliams from Work Feet This is the third pair of these same shoes I have had. I am a Landscape Architect and General Contractor so I get a new pair about every 1.5 years. Not because they wear out, I am just particular to having relatively new shoes on for the cushion and looks. I also give my old pair to my workers when they are in need of a great pair of work shoe, hikers! They are rugged and truly waterproof. As far as size, I wear a 10 and I like the shoes to be snug when I get them but they loosen up perfect.

Rated 1 out of 5 by keifers from Not Waterproof I purchased the shoes because the product description stated that they were waterproof. As a naturalist and outdoor professional this feature is the most important feature in a shoe. However, the first time I wore them in a light rain I discovered that they were anything but waterproof. Within 20 minutes my socks were soaked through.

Rated 5 out of 5 by TravelingMan from Very good so far Wore these for a hike to Indian Garden in the GC via Bright Angel trail and a couple of short hikes in Zion. The only modification I made was to replace the factory insole with a Spenco version that fits my foot better and provides much better cushioning. They were extremely comfortable and the outsole had much more grip than my old Vasque Breezes. There were no hot spots or fit issues and break-in was almost non-existent. The shoe is more like a robust trail running shoe than a stiff hiking shoe. Definitely more flexible than my Vasques. They work perfectly for my light, but long distance day hikes. I have a very large foot and have difficulty finding shoes that fit, so I purchased three pairs; one waterproof and the others not. Durability of the shoe remains to be determined, but nothing is coming loose or wearing after four hikes. I'm hopeful that they will hold up. I really like wearing them.

Rated 2 out of 5 by Kaseymoe from Sizing not accurate - i ordered this shoe in Men's 9.5 size to get a shoe as close as possible to a pair of similar Columbia shoes but the shoe is too small by at least half a size and maybe a full size. Tried to break the shoe in but that has not worked. Now the shoes have been worn and will next go to a Thrift Store Donation bin with a note that they are better suited for a size 8.5 foot. They are genuine Columbia but were a sale item thru a 3rd party. My mistake in not sending them back immediately.

Rated 5 out of 5 by MartyinCanby from Love these Redmond waterproofs. I really love these shoes. Right out of the box, they fit Comfortably. No break-in period. I have worn them every day this past week. Dew in the morning and my feet stayed dry. I am going to buy My Wife a pair. Highly recommend.

Rated 5 out of 5 by G8tr from Great shoe/hiking boot! In my experience, hiking shoes and boots take a long time to wear in...but these are comfortable out of the box. I wore them for a few minutes to check fit, and then did a 3 mile hike...they were very, very comfortable...I'm looking forward to not getting my socks wet when it rains, as they're also waterproof. In short...if you want a comfortable hiking shoe that wears and cushions like a running shoe, this is the pair!

Rated 1 out of 5 by Jcm87 from Not waterproof Unfortunately I am very disappointed with these shoes. I must say they are very comfortable and have good adherence in rocks. In the other hand, after only a couple of months using them, the shoe sole looks like I have been using them for a very long time. But the worst thing that I must say is that they are supposed to be waterproof, but when I tried them under the rain, just after half an hour walking under light-moderate rain, the inside of them were completely soaked, I could wring out my socks. I have worn other shoes that are not waterproof that can hold off the water better, that's the reason why I am so disappointed.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Squeaky2 from Too Squeaky These shoes are so squeaky they are embarrassing to wear in a semi-quiet area. I am very happy with how they feel on my feet, but, holy cow! They are so squeaky! Maybe I just got a bad pair out of thousands of good ones, but I feel I wasted my money on these. Sorry Columbia, I probably will try a different brand next time.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Josh51 from Fantastic Shoe! This is a wonderful shoe for me. It did take a little while longer to break in than other shoes from Colombia that I've had, but once it was broken in, it became one of the most comfortable shoes I have had in a while. This was my first time ordering a shoe online, so I made sure the fit was good in store, than purchased these online for the color and rewards points. They fit exactly as I expected, and I am glad I invested in these.

Rated 5 out of 5 by GiantsMetsOregon from Comfortable shoe with good traction Comfort and style are both excellent and comparable to the much more expensive Keene and Merrill brands. I wore these walking around a very icy and snowy Bend, Oregon all weekend. While others were slipping and sliding, I was not. They're also reasonably warm, even with a cotton sock. I would not wear them on a serious snow trek; but for getting around through modest winter weather, they're great. I haven't owned them very long; so I cannot comment on durability. But they seem to be well-constructed and built to last.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Jmac48 from Good quality but doesn't fit I really like Columbia products. I have a pair of size 12 Columbia shoes that fit perfectly so I ordered these shoes in size 12 as well. They were too small so I returned them and ordered a size 13 which were too big. Unfortunately, this shoe is not offered in 1/2 sizes beyond size 12 and I returned the size 13. Columbia was very good about crediting my account in both cases. I am not sure why there isn't uniformity in shoe sizing within the same brand. When I looked at the shoe originally, the review said they ran true to size. It was changed to runs small by the time I ordered the second pair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Arnie1199 from Redmond hiking shoe low I am absolutely thrilled with this purchase, the shoe fits true to size. Usually an 8 would run slightly large on my feet but this pair that I purchased is fits just right. The traction of the soles are amazing, goes well with the AZ terrain all around. I am a happy camper! lol.

Rated 5 out of 5 by PhoMai from Great set of shoes. I bought these shoes and immediately took them on a 3-day camping trip through the jungles/mountains/caves of Central Viet Nam. First, as other people have mentioned, get a size bigger than normal. Also I know I'm dumb for wearing brand new shoes on a hike but I had zero problems with blisters or rubbing. These shoes took on sharp rocks, suction-cup mud, and slippery cave rocks with aplomb. Swimming through a cave in these? No problem. Putting them on still wet the next day and wearing them for 8 hours? No problem. 10/10, would shoe again.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Brett24 from Good hiking and daily use shoe I have used these for over a year now and find that they hold up well. A really good lightweight hiking shoe. I Probably have 200 miles hiking on them, and wear them every day for work. Waterproofing wore off after two or three months though, I could easily waterproof them again with a spray but it's not that important to me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by earpster from Fits Just Right This was my first time ordering shoes online, not having tried them on first. I was nervous that a lot of reviews said they run small, but I ordered my normal size 10 anyway, and they fit perfectly. First time using them my feet slipped into a creek I was crossing, water came over the top, so of course my feet got wet, but they only felt wet and cold for a minute and I was able to continue walking with warm feet and they didn't feel wet. My left shoe is a little squeaky when I walk, which I'm sure can get annoying with miles of quiet hiking.
