Rated 4 out of 5 by AllisonP from Survived Chicago winter I waited to write a review of this coat until I was able to wear it through the bitter cold. Overall I'd say it's a great jacket. I'm a dog walker so I'm outside for hours snow, rain, shine... doesn't matter I'm out there. I needed a jacket that was warm and that has a stronger shell (I had a down jacket but that silky material was just slowly dying year after year with dogs jumping on me etc). It does run just a TAD small for any type of hardcore layering (long sleeve shirt and non-hooded sweatshirt was fine, but thick sweater/sweatshirt it was a bit snug). The shell is that best part for me personally with how durable it is. I wore it during the polar vertex. I was a little cold in temps 20 and below that, but really 30 and up I was good. I like how you can cinch the waist with hidden drawstrings in the pockets. And it has stretchy material around the wrists so wind doesn't blow up the sleeves. The only color available when I was ordering was the Wine color. I'm really not a fan of reds, but I have to say its a pretty maroon type color and really has grown on me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Roman123 from Excellent winter jacket I never had a jacket that i LOVED as much as this one. Fits very well throughout body with added ease. Works great in really cold weather. You do not feel an ounce of cold through this jacket. Would highly recommend for anybody who lives in cold climate.

Rated 3 out of 5 by Mica73 from Shipping to APO, AE was superfast It got here right on time for the cold german Winter. The outer shell is great, keeps me dry and is long enough to cover my backside. The material and fabrication are of good quality, I am happy with that. However, the liner.. I have had this style of liner jacket before, but this time it looks like the filling is trying to come out of the seams, so wearing it by itself is a no-go, it just doesn't look nice, it looks like the liner jacket has seen several winters. Sadly that defeats the purpose of buying a 3-in-1 jacket for me... 3 stars for that, I expected a bit more of a $250 Columbia jacket. But, if you don't plan on separating the jackets, it is a warm wintercoat that will keep you dry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by NAK1 from Best Coat ever Outer jacket is waterproof. Inner removeable jacket is warm and sleeves have the hole for your thumb so the sleeve stays down and does not bunch up around upper arm when putting it on. Plenty of pockets. Warm Sherpa lined hood. Can't say enough of this item, it is great. Shipping was fast.

Rated 4 out of 5 by nysteffi from Another good Jacket from Columbia Like the most Jackets from Columbia, I am pleased with my purchase especially for the sale price. To be honest don't know if I had kept it for the regular price. Not that there is something dramatically wrong with it, but I already own a fwe jackets, guess I get picky. The jacket is a couple inch to short for my taste and I hate that every time the inside sleeves roll up even with the button to secure it. Otherwise the Jacket is fine

Rated 3 out of 5 by Mischa1 from Short jacket I ultimately had to return this jacket, as it was much shorter than I thought it was based on the pictures shown on this site. I prefer a longer winter jacket, at least something that covers my behind, but this barely covered me and the bottom inch or two of the coat is only a single layer (the inner, more warmer lining falls shorter than the outer lining) so it's really not very warm. This jacket also fit a bit more snug than my other Columbia coat in the same size. If you need a ski jacket and don't mind having your lower half exposed, this might be okay for you.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Morgen28 from Love This Coat! I love this coat! Not only does it look great, it is quite warm and comfortable. The zipper is a quality zipper that is easy to zip and will not come apart easily. The hood is insulated (something I was surprised to find). I also found that it works well in the wind. Not all coats do that. Finally, I like the fact that it is longer to keep my backside warm. My last coat only went to the waist and I found I got colder more easily. I've also gotten several compliments on how good the coat looks. Very happy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by FromMaine from Great coat!! I love this coat! I have a biiiiiiig chest and usually wear a 20/22 and the 3x fits me perfectly. There is plenty of room for layers, it’s nice and toasty, I love that it covers my butt, and the hood looks great. My last Columbia winter jacket (bugaboo) is over 10 years old, and while still functional I felt like a bum. This coat makes me feel good and keeps me warm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kimi826 from Cozy jacket Very warm without being heavy. Love the end of the sleeves with the area to hook over your thumb. Great with gloves to keep snow off your wrists/arms! Had to order a 3X since they were out of 2X (suggested size), but it’s VERY ROOMY and perfect for layers!

Rated 2 out of 5 by Yola from Not warm Looking at the pictures I assumed this jacket is a bit longer but it isn't a deal braker. The jacket looks very well made and looks good quality. I ordered black but I wouldn't call it black. I really like the 3 in 1 idea. My disappointment is in how very cold it is. I live in Illinois and this jacket will not keep you warm one bit. I should have go outside in it before I cut all the tags from it. Really a shame because it really could have been great if only added an extra insolation to it to actually make it a winter jacket. This jacket runs big in the arms a chest area.

Rated 4 out of 5 by SandyXL from Plus Size Too Small I normally wear 2X in my clothes with no problems. This was purchased in 3X to accommodate winter clothing. But, sad to say, this coat was too tight in the arms and across the low hip with me wearing only t-shirt and shorts. My other 3X winter coats fit just fine. I so wanted to be able to love this coat but it is being returned.

Rated 5 out of 5 by tamk from Love the style of the Carson Pass Jacket I’m from the Midwest where winters can be brutal and this jacket has already proven to be a great product. Not only is it very sharp looking but it has kept me protected from the elements of the Midwest winters! I would definitely recommend this to anyone, great color, love the style and length and keeps you cozy and warm!

Rated 5 out of 5 by KarenLD from Great warm coat! I bought this coat to wear in Iceland in the winter. It runs a little big, and was not the best looking coat I tried on, but man, did it keep me warm. I was so warm that I did not even wear a mid-layer the whole trip; just my Columbia base layer and this coat. I was outside for nearly 12 hours straight in very cold temps, and was never cold for a second. Lots of pockets to keep things in too, so no need to deal with a purse. Highly recommend!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Lin49 from Love this coat Love this coat, it is comfortable, warm & stylish. I get lots of compliments and they always ask about the reflective lining. Does run small across the shoulders I had to return first one & order a size large. Perfect fit second time!

Rated 3 out of 5 by Wisgirl from Beautiful coat, not as warm as I expected I bought this for cold Wisconsin winters. It's a beautiful coat. I ordered the plus size rich wine and it is actually a little redder than the picture suggests, and the insert jacket is a little greyer. It is really nice quality, not very bulky and I love the length and hood. There are hidden drawstrings in the pocket which I did not realize until reading another review, but that take in the waist a bit. The only issue is that the outer shell does not seem to keep out the cold as I had hoped it would, especially if there is a wind. I have worn it on days in the teens and lower 20s and I can feel the cold. The outer shell seems to get cold and then almost transfers the cold to the inner lining. I am still going to keep the jacket because of the length and hood, but disappointed it is not warmer. I would recommend the jacket, but not if your main goal is extra warmth.

Rated 2 out of 5 by ricer23901 from Nice coat but not that warm I have owned Colombia products in the past and so when it recently came time to purchase a new coat I came here. By the reviews of this product and shopping around, this sounded like the one! I live in Northern New Hampshire and so a warm coat is necessary in the deep of winter. Unfortunately, this coat is not going to cut it as it does not handle wind well. The shell gets cold and it transfers through to the lining and then to me. It would be a good early winter/spring coat but not in -30 weather. I wish I could return it, but I took the tags off before it got really cold and I found out the truth. Also a little small in the shoulders.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Jodine from Great versatility! I love having the ability to use this jacket in 3 different ways. The removable shell and liner allow me to use this jacket a significant amount of the year as separates. The liner alone is great for the in between seasons when I need a little more warmth than my spring/fall coat. The shell has been very useful when it is wet and requiring a wind break. I have not yet had a chance to use the liner and shell together. The liner is quite light and thin so I am uncertain how if this jacket, when used with both pieces, will hold up in Winnipeg's very cold and windy winters. For this reason I ordered a jacket rated for extreme cold temperatures as well. The hidden drawstring in the pockets allows to shape the boxy style of the shell to be a little more feminine. The liner is not overly puffy and tailored nicely - not too tight. The liner is very attractive on it's own. I ordered the red and white jacket and the colours are not quite true to display. The shell is more 'wine' in colour and the liner is definitely cream. Both fit with a little extra room to put a sweater on underneath. I would recommend this jacket to anyone. Rated 5 out of 5 by Viv5 from Very warm & cozy jacket without feeling confined! Exactly as described: waterproof and breathable. An easy on and off jacket D/T comfortable lining which does do a great job of reflecting heat as stated. The most comfortable winter jacket I have ever had.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Rubutu from Plus-Sizes Deserve A Dart Too! I love the quality of the product but guys please we plus-sizes deserve some darts on our clothing too! Just because we’re plus-sized doesn’t mean our jackets should be without curves or darts. That’s the issue I have with this jacket, makes me look like a woman in a man’s jackets. Rated 5 out of 5 by mammabear from WOW True to Description & Picture I researched having a winter jacket due to having pneumonia a couple years in a row during the winter on the West Coast of Canada where conditions change hourly almost. I needed a jacket that breathed so I would not over heat and sweat in the damp cold. This jacket is true to form and also looks good. I believe in the product and have tried it out in the cold damp night air. I'll be ordering one for my boyfriend for Christmas, who also has lung issues. Thank-you Columbia. Rated 4 out of 5 by socrpenguin14 from Love this coat! I love this coat. The amount of pockets is just what I need. The length is perfect to keep me warm in the Chicago winter. I haven't been able to try it out properly but just having it on for a minute I was warm! Finally a coat I love to wear on my long, cold commute to work.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Falken17 from So far so good Grew up with having no real winter experience & just moved to the Midwest. I bought the jacket to help get through my first real winter. So far the fit is a little snug but it works. The real test will come later when I have to deal with -degree temps & wind chill. Will update

Rated 5 out of 5 by Laura4211 from Great new winter coat! I’ve been shopping around for a new winter coat for a LONG time and decided to give Columbia a try. I ordered a size up because as a tall/plus size person, I didn’t want something too short in the torso/arms or too tight. The coat is a little large but that’s ok since I can wear a sweatshirt underneath or other bulky clothing. The coat is very, very warm and great on those windy Colorado days! Can’t wait to take on winter!

Rated 5 out of 5 by WarmInNY from Warm Jacket So I purchased this jacket to replace an older Columbia which is still great after several years use....like I said Columbia. I wanted something super warm for being outside everyday on and off. I'm a professional and also wanted something that didn't look like a ski jacket. This jacket is great. I can stand outside in the snow and freezing temperatures here in Buffalo waiting for my son's bus or whatever else without freezing!

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kdit from This jacket is a keeper! I was hesitant to buy a jacket online that I hadn’t tried on, but having owned several Columbia jackets before, I trusted they would keep their sizing consistent, and they did. This jacket fits well. It is a bit different than the picture from what I could tell but I like it better; the black jacket has a grey fur instead of brown which I like, and the zipper tabs are black instead of tan which I also like better. I like the thumb holes, the adjustable waistband, the fleece-lined hood, the many pockets. It is not bulky which will take some getting used to, since I usually equate bulk with warmth, but It feels like it keeps the heat in well. Oh, and I love that the inside liner is the full length of the jacket, unlike some other styles. My tush will stay nice and warm this winter! I am over the moon happy with this jacket.
