Women's Icelandite™ Hooded Jacket is rated 4.6 out of 5 by 42.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Better than the Apres Arson! I bought this jacket as a replacement for a previous Columbia coat that I loved, but my old one was missing the one absolutely clutch feature that I wanted. The hood cincher makes jacket the perfect piece for chilly and windy Chicago winters. It's warm, and allows for layers underneath for crazily blustery days. Excited to take it through a full winter.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE this coat! I took a chance and ordered this coat online, although because of the price I was quite hesitant. I double checked sizing and took the plunge. It fits PERFECTLY! The quality of the entire coat is obvious. This is clearly the best coat I've ever owned. As a Spring and Fall lover, I can't believe I'm hoping for snow and winter so I can really test it out! (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Chicago winter Very warm. No jacket needed underneath it. It has many pockets. What more can you ask for.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Columbia shows us the definition of quality! The comfort and warmth of this jacket are unlike anything I've bought before. My mother-in-law took this jacket to frozen Denver in January and grinned every time she wore it. Style is not sacrificed for comfort though as she wears this to any occasion in the winter. The fleece neck lining is a perfect example of the great attention to detail in this jacket. Great value in an affordable jacket.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Women's Icelandite Hooded Jacket The jacket is comfortable and warm. It provides easy movement. I like that there is an adjustable strap at the back to make it form fitting at the waist. It is a perfect length and I like that it is longer in the back. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from warm and stylish SUPER WARM. And I absolutely love the soft fabric on the neck and the olive green color. It is still a little big, but seems like it will be cozy and fit perfect after I add layers under. I also love that the sleeves! The belt is adjustable in the back, allowing you still seem like you have a waist

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Looked like the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man I took a chance on this coat because it was on sale for a great price and I desperately needed a coat for a trip to Banff, Canada. It was sold out in my size for the Pond color, so I chose the "Chalk" color. I'm not a fan of white coats and this one was definitely white and not the creamy kind of color depicted in the picture. The coat was enormous! I ordered a size large as I am heavy chested and typically wear a medium/large in tops. Plus I knew I'd need to layer for Canadian winter weather. But this coat swallowed me entirely. The arms were about 6 inches too long. The coat itself was far too bulky and appeared to add about 50 pounds to my frame - not a flattering coat at all. However, it seems as though it would be quite warm, so I would still suggest the coat to anyone who does not mind the bulkiness and needs a good quality, warm coat.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cozy and Cute Coat Love this winter coat. It looks great, not too bulky and it's super warm.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Just what I expected A year ago I purchased a Columbia thermal jacket for one of my trips and I loved it. I have taken it in a couple trips and it works perfect that I wanted to buy another one. I made the right decision as this one also works pretty good, the quality of the fabric is great, and it's a very stylish jacket. I bought a L since M was out of stock, but I don't mind the extra space as when traveling I always dress in layers. So I guess it fits to the size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best warmth winter coat I received this coat just in time for our 26-36 degree snowy, icy winter weather here in the Portland, OR, area. I love this coat as it keeps me warm and dry., plenty of pockets, adjustable hood, and cuffs in sleeves to keep the wind out. I usually buy XL for the roominess but sometimes can be too big. This coat in a L is plenty roomy, comfortable. Now I just need comparable pants, and lightweight waterproof gloves for rainy weather.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Very comfortable fit This is a stylish, comfortable and very warm winter jacket. I used to have a "Roots" winter jacket but I was cold in even -5. This coat keeps me toasty warm in -15 and colder. When I first tried it on, I felt like it looked quite big on me (a size small) but I tightened the belt in the back for a more fitted look.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Cozy in the Cold Purchased this coat in preparation for a North East tour. The coat was perfect for walks around the city or hikes in the mountains. I had packed other coats but this one was my go-to, my new favorite.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very warm and fashionable This coat is amazing. Bought it onside, which was a bonus. Very warm without looking too bulky. The pockets are just the right size and the adjustable belt makes it so you can still be fashionable. I bought the chanti, which is really pretty.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from A great cold weather coat! I recently bought this coat and it was a tremendous bargain for a really great coat that provides incredible warmth but with a fairly light, not too bulky weight. I am 5'7" and 156 lbs and I bought both the Medium and Large, not knowing which one would fit. I kept the Medium. Thus, I had to check the box "Runs a Little Large" because according to the company's sz chart I should have been a large - but the coat in sz Lg was too big. Since there are no industry standards on clothing sizing, the company's size chart vs your own measurements are the only objective criteria we have. Thus I'm curious as to how other reviewers say "Slightly Small". I'm a full time Grandma and I like how I can just do just one snap for getting in and out of the car with the kids. The smooth exterior is nice because I feel the puffer-type coats make one look, well, puffy. You can adjust the velcro belt in back to slim the coat's lines a bit too. There are lots of roomy pockets and a nifty little pocket inside towards the top. The fur trim was a little messy on arrival but I think I'm going to have it replaced with real fur, which will dress it up. All in all, this is a great coat with versatility, comfort, and great looks. Lastly, I have lots of Columbia products and l love this company for its service and quality.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Style and Function! The length is perfect and doesn't let any cold air in. The Omni-heat layer inside is very effective, I can feel my heat being reflected back at me. The color is a lovely creamy white and the fabric is surprisingly stain resistant; I've already spilled coffee and chocolate on it with no ill effects! The only complaint I have is that the velcro on the belt in the back meant to cinch the waist does not cover the entire belt and I am not able to cinch it to my liking. Otherwise, it's a quintessential winter jacket, cute and warm!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Soooo warm! In Alabama, we have mild winters compared to the north but cold weather chills me to the bone - just plain hurts my feelings! My husband got me this coat for Christmas and I've had the pleasure of wearing it once and was so impressed at how warm it really is. This will at least make winter more pleasant for me. Also, the quality is superb as is the attention to detail. I couldn't be more pleased!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from ChicagoMom Not crazy about the faux fur trim, can do without. Sleeve cuffs too thick, and does not keep cold out. How do you control all the static from the coat outer shell? My long hair always doing the electricity display.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and Functional Coat I found this coat to be perfect in our recent cold snap. It is warm and comfortable in below zero weather with just a sweater underneath. The collar is lined with a warm soft material and the hood is warm. Zip it up and all you need are gloves for your hands. The cut and the belt across the back is flattering and nice to wear to my office job. I ordered it in the Pond color. This is the first coat I have purchased for myself in a long time and it even has a silver lining!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Jacket for classy women I bought it as a gift to my girlfriend.. Originally the size M in chianti but finally the small in white. She just fell in love with it. While she was trying it I could not help how the tayloring is perfect fit... I have been a customer of Columbia since 2000 back in overseas. They have unmatched quality products...

Rated 5 out of 5 by from very warm I got this jacket for the cold Montana winters, I think it is going to be perfect. I usually wear a small or medium so I got a medium incase I wanted to layer under the jacket. It does seem a little large to me but there is an adjustable belt on the back so that makes it look a little more form fitting. I often have a hard time finding long enough sleeves because I have long arms but this jacket fits well. Overall I am very happy with my first Columbia purchase.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Warm and beautiful This coat is perfect! The reflective layer inside allows me to wear a t shirt when it's 30 degrees. It's a little "puffy," but great for weather the is 20-30s. (It doesn't get cold than that where I live.) Also it is long enough to keep my upper legs warm. I am 5'6 150lbs, athletic build. I usually wear a size 8. The medium fit well and allowed for a heavy sweater to be worn underneath.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Beautiful I knew to order a size up from my regular size from the previous reviews. The coat fits like I want it. Love the color, hood, fur, and everything else about this jacket.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from So Happy! I live in Wyoming where the wind blows constantly. This coat is the perfect length as it falls just shy of my knees, and, it provides perfect insulation to combat the cold and the wind. I wore it the other day when it was -28 degrees with the wind chill. No complaints! I am so happy that I made this purchase. In did go up one size, from a medium to a large because I like to have extra room for layers of clothing.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Any jacket with turbo inside is a good look This jacket is so warm you could even wear it without something inside, awesome for 30 degrees weather

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Excellent Jacket The best of all worlds; warm AND stylish. Mine's been tested in -5 degree weather, with wind, and I stayed toasty warm. The high tech lining works exactly as promised, no hype. The Chianti is a beautiful, deep, rich red that's a little darker than the picture. I've received numerous compliments. My only request would be a detachable hood for warmer days.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Don't order the wrong size - this was huge! I ordered the wrong size and won't be able to use what seems like an excellent coat, because of it. The site is sold out and I ordered based 1) on the Columbia mighty lite coat I own in a Large that fits me perfectly and 2) reviews that said this coat ran small. Completely incorrect. The Large is huge. I am 5'7", 145 and have broad shoulders... It doesn't fit with two sweatshirts on. WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT!

Rated 4 out of 5 by from good to have very warm, feel well protected. color is between dark red and violet, not red as shown in picture. 4 packs, 2 on waist side, on lap side. I'm 164cm and 55kg, XS is enough for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Snuggly warm Bought this just in time for record low temperatures in my area. True to its qualities- this is incredibly warm and protective all around. Super handy with two sets of pockets. I typically get size medium in almost all brands, I found the size small to fit me best for this jacket, and still room for layers underneath.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great for Northern Cold This coat is perfect for the cold MN weather. Disclaimer: I wear it layered over another sweater or lighter fleece jacket. I think it'd be warm if I just wore it over top. I just wish the green was a little darker. It's more like a washed out soft green which isn't my favorite, but I've gotten tons of compliments on the color!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Finally, the perfect winter coat! This will be my third winter in Minnesota, and my quest to find the perfect winter coat has been completed! *\o/* FIT: I ordered this coat in the Pond color. Its a very soft Army Green color in my opinion that looks really nice. Fit is true to size. For reference, I'm 5'4, 140 lbs and wear Medium in all Columbia items. I often have a cardigan or a hoodie on under my coats, and when I tried it on with either of those options, I can zip up no problem. Speaking of the zipper, I dont know how many coats I've tried on (including a Fjallraven Jacket I have) that I have to sit by the door trying to get the dang zipper up. Super annoying when you're in a rush and its single digits outside. I was able to zip this bad boy up first try. The cut of the coat is also super flattering. Its got a belt on the back that you can adjust to give the coat an even more defined waist. The coat hits right above my knees in the front, and at the bend of my knees in the back (coat is longer in back). The arms do not feel constricted AT ALL. FUNCTION: This coat is crazy warm. Though its Turbo Down, its not puffy or big. The hood is fantastic. Comparing this coat to the popular Women's Apres Arson™ Long Down Jacket, the Icelandite jacket is the clear winner in every aspect. This coat has an adjustable storm hood! Super important if you've got a crazy windchill and trying to keep your ears toasty. The Apres jacket does not have the ability to tighten or adjust the hood, so that hood will fly back if wind catches it. This jacket also has more pockets then the Apres. Two fleece lined hand warmer pockets right at the waist, and two larger pockets below that. It also has an interior zip pocket that I can easily fit my Galaxy S7 edge in. Love the color, love the little leather details, love everything about this coat! I know this guy is selling out online so go checkout Columbia stores. This jacket is definitely worth getting. BRING IT ON POLAR VORTEX 2.0!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from LOVE! Finally a great quality, warm and fashionable coat! Love this Coat! I am ALWAYS cold, but this jacket actually does the job! I don't have to sacrifice fashion to stay warm. I can feel confident. It has feminine lines and a belt in the back to hug my curves. I'm 5'4" 135lbs and got a medium. It fits fine! I got the red one the color looks like the picture.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Warm for MN Winters & Stylish I have been searching for a stylish winter coat to keep me warm in the freezing cold Minnesota winters. Also something flattering, even though I wanted to be bundled up and warm. This coat is it! I compared this to similar other brands, and am so happy I bought the Columbia. Best value for the most warmth, functionality and style. This also has sealed pockets for my phone and keys, tissues and other extra things I find myself carrying in the winter. The additional hand-pockets are great too, so I am not warming my hands in the same pockets that carry all of my loot. I bought the Chalk (lighter white/grey) color and it stands out, and looks great!! The only comment to consider is size... I usually wear a Medium (130 lb's, 5'8" tall), but the Small fit me great and gave me the extra flattering look I wanted. The arms and length were still great too.
