Rated 5 out of 5 by SmallCurvyLady from New favorite shoes I'm a 7 in all shoes and normally a 7.5 in boots (for socks). I bought these in a 7 and I have plenty of room for a hiking sock. I have been using these as my everyday work shoe and love them! The soles absorb impact really well and the body of the shoe has a nice amount of cushion. The laces are nice a sturdy and the gray color looks really nice.

Rated 4 out of 5 by BJ50 from My happy skinny feet It is hard for me to find shoes in narrow. These shoes worked wonderfully for my skinny feet. I didn't have to wear big heavy socks " to make them work". Regular socks were fine. They did run a half size smaller than my usual shoe size. I also found the insole was not cushioned enough for my feet so I bought new insoles for them and they feel good now.

Rated 5 out of 5 by EmyG from Light weight, functional and breathable Wore these shoes - 10 day hiking trip through Zion, Bryce and Grand Canyon. Breathable and light weight. Toe box is roomy even after several hours of hiking in the heat and your feet has swollen. Bought them at full price and worth every penny.

Rated 5 out of 5 by WendyVal from Sturdy Walking Shoe I wanted to try an alternative hiking shoe to Merrell Moabs which tend to be heavy and expensive. I've worn out several pair of those. These Columbias are just as sturdy but lighter weight, which I like. I have only used these on my suburban walking path so far but I'm pretty sure they will be good on hiking trails as well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by nicknamenil from Good fit but needs better insoles I got these shoes for weekend wear working around the house, walking, gardening, yeard work, etc. They are my "work" shoes. I usually wear a 6.5 or 7 in hiking shoes & running shoes. 7 fit like a charm with descent padded socks. The shoe conforms very nicely and comfortably to my foot. Only downside is that the insoles do not offer much support or cushioning. After a day on my feet wearing them my feet hurt. The problem is easily solved by replacing the insoles with your favorite after-market insoles. I also tried the waterproof version of this shoe but did not like the fit of the shoe at all. The toe box of the waterproof version was different and not as comfortable for me.

Rated 4 out of 5 by adventureseeker2 from Would be great if it were a tad bit wider These were great for climbing, hiking, and dried in a decent time when they got wet at a waterfall. The shoes fit a little too perfect. I needed a tiny bit of space on the outer sides of the shoe because it kept rubbing on the bones that stick out at my toes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Micheleee from Excellent! These shoes fit true to size for me and are very comfortable. There was no break in time. Plenty of room for my toes. My feet tend to swell up during the day and this shoe worked out fine. I recommend without reservation!!

Rated 5 out of 5 by shesgotaway from Perfect right out of the box I really enjoy these shoes already. They fit well, if a little narrow in the toe bed, and didn't give me any foot or blister issues even when brand new. I am definitely a fan. :D

Rated 3 out of 5 by Koibaatnahi0902 from What a smell! Not Columbia's fault! Bought a pair of these last year, both in waterproof and non waterproof. My theory was that the non-waterproof ones would be more breathable and therefore better for using for my groundskeeping/ vegetable farm jobs. The waterproof ones became my new hiking boots as my tiny ankles are swallowed by anything that comes up too high. Well here it is a year later. The waterproof ones are great, and surprisingly breathable. The non waterproof ones, however, are soaked through with dew after an hour of work! They smell like death, to the point where I can't even wear them in public. So pro tip....the non waterproof ones are VERY porous and don't hold up well at all to the rigors of heavy outdoor labor. As an avid hiker, I am not sure I would use them for hiking at all either for the same reason. So get the waterproof ones! 100% worth it and their low profile makes for an excellent hiking boot substitute. I am not a boot person at all...I wear barefoot shoes as long as the temp is over 50 or so. These shoes have the precision of foot placement I seek in a shoe while withstanding my 50-60 lb heavy pack. Columbia may want to just discontinue the non waterproof ones entirely though...they are kinda worthless!

Rated 5 out of 5 by LadyWinter from Great, slightly large fit I love these! I work in law enforcement as a crime scene technician and my agency does not provide uniforms so we're left to our own devices. I needed a breathable, more sneaker-like shoe for summer in the desert than my Merrell hiking boots and these seemed a good fit. I love them! I wear a 7.5/8 and ordered a 7.5. They are still a little large even after wearing my well-cushioned hiking socks with them. That said, they're so comfortable! The breathability in the mesh is fantastic. I love these. The only single complaint I have is the height of the heel part. It stabbed my Achilles area severely the first week or two I wore them. Never got a blister, but it did really hurt. I think I wore them so they don't bend inward now, so that's gone. But be warned for initial wearing.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Nicola from Love Em! I love these hiking shoes! I purchased them two weeks before my planned hike to make sure I had time to brake them in and they have been comfy from day 1. They are exactly what I was looking for. I wear a size 7 most of the time so that’s the size I purchased. They fit like there were made for my feet!

Rated 5 out of 5 by talaney from Sturdy and cute! I needed new walking/hiking shoes because I lost my previous pair from Columbia, which I loved. I love this pair even more! They keep my feet dry in the rain during my walking commute to and from work, as well as being sturdy walking and hiking shoes for walking around the city or on trails. As a bonus, they're also cute!

Rated 4 out of 5 by Dollarshave from Big in the toe I've been wearing these shoes for about two weeks now. They are definitely large in the toe and tightening the laces isn't enough. Otherwise a good shoe. I tend to be hard on shoes, but they seem like they'll hold up. Be aware that they are for summer use! The panels let in a lot of air, which will be great for summer hikes.

Rated 5 out of 5 by fthursday from great hiking shoes! the last pair of hiking shoes i bought from columbia finally started to die on me after 4 years of loyal daily service. i live in the PNW and with all the rain, hiking shoes really help to grip the road during wet days. these shoes are fabulous! i'll need to break them in a little as they rub slightly on my ankle with the lower profile but nothing higher socks won't fix.

Rated 5 out of 5 by cythecreature from I'm a boy It fit my foot better than the men's shoes at dick's sporting goods. I wore them across nepal and india, and up a himalayan peak above 20,000 feet (even though people told me I should be wearing insulated climbing boots). I ran, hiked, climbed, and wore them casually. I strapped them into snow shoes. These shoes will always remind me of my experiences and memories I made in them. Worth every penny.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Shoes from Great shoe I like hiking shoes that aren't too big and bulky and this was by far the best one I could find. Super comfortable and lightweight. The fact that it isn't waterproof (hard to find these days) means that it's really breathable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Saskatchewanshopper from These shoes do keep your feet dry! Even though you can see through the mesh these shoes will keep your feet dry in damp weather. This spring has been snowy, rainy and not very warm but my feet haven't been wet while wearing them outside. I haven't walked through water or heavy mud with them so that might be too much but that's why rubberboots were invented ;) Good purchase. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 3 out of 5 by Jeanne5 from Just OK The shoes are mediocre, but Columbia is the only company that makes women's size 12 hikers. It's unfortunate that women with large feet can't find a shoe that is comfortable and accommodates heavy hiking socks. Thanks Columbia for hanging in there, but could you put some padding in your insoles so the shoes are more comfortable? They are stable and solid; they're just not great.

Rated 4 out of 5 by kameb from could use a little arch support i was looking for something for running and hiking. This worked perfectly. Its a little heavy for serious runners, but I am not one so no problem. It has great traction! Its the normal great quality I expect from columbia products. My only complain is that it could use some arch support. If I was just using this for walking it would have been fine, but since I am jogging too, I added some padding. So far its great. Works just like a shoe

Rated 3 out of 5 by Mimi427 from Length is fine, but shoe runs narrow I love ordering shoes from Columbia because they carry a size 10.5, which is next to impossible to find in stores. Even a major sporting good store, which carry this style shoe, can not order it in a 10.5. My last pair of Columbia hiking shoes fit perfectly, but I couldn't remember the style name. These looked just like my other pair, except for the color, so I asked my husband for a pair for Christmas. I tried them on at home and they felt OK. It wasn't until I took the dog for an extended walk that I realized how narrow and uncomfortable they are. The foot bed feels very odd and lumpy, especially on the left shoe. I should note that I replaced the original insoles with my "Superfeet" insoles that my podiatrist recommended, but, as I took them from my old shoes, I can't imagine that this is why the shoes are so uncomfortable. In face, just standing in them in the house, the shoes felt more comfortable with the Superfeet insoles than with the original. I feel bad that we paid a decent amount for these shoes and they aren't anywhere near as comfortable as the last pair I ordered from Columbia. Comparing the two pairs of shoes, my other pair just feel much more "substantial" than this pair. I know I didn't get the waterproof shoe last time so I don't know why there is so much difference between the two.

Rated 5 out of 5 by jstram from light and comfortable I order shoes all the time and I really trust the reviewers on Columbia's site. I really wear a 4 1/2 and ordered these because they are a 5 and it said runs slightly small. Correct as usual. I use these shoes mostly for work and walks on the trails near my house. Great value.

Rated 5 out of 5 by alasorus from Great for any casual purpose I wear these shoes daily. I walk and can run with the dogs in any terrain. I also then wear them to work as I work in an art studio and working environment with cement floors and have to go up and down ladders. They are comfortable, great color and good tread. I think they are true to size. I think the price is fantastic for the shoe.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Shmooshy from Lightweight and Comfortable I was able to wear these shoes immediately without needing a break-in period. They seem flimsy - very lightweight, but so far, so good. I haven't taken them on lengthy hikes yet. I'm normally an 8.5 and they fit me fine without feeling too snug. I don't know why it's listed as being slightly small - maybe the sizing is inconsistent. I got the Boulder color and the photos are pretty accurate My only regret is that I'm starting to dislike these breathable mesh shoes. Dust/dirt gets inside and they wouldn't work if it's raining. So my next shoe will be a waterproof style.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Lynne65 from Overall a good shoe I anticipated the shoes would be a bit small but they are still a bit tight and I ordered the half size larger. Other than that they are comfortable enough and will work well on short day hikes. Hope they "break in" after wearing them a few more times.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Ctv14 from Shoes for light hike Initially there were not much reviews for this and I run between 7.5 and 8. The 7.5 were only available at the time I purchased these shoes. Wore them a couple of times to hopefully stretch them out but they are too tight. They run really small so get a size up if you are between sizes. Now I am stuck with this shoe that doesn't fit. I wish the shoes had deeper tread. But other than that the quality of the shoes are good

Rated 5 out of 5 by Joy3 from Super Comfortable I love how the shoe fits - I did have to buy 1/2 size larger. It seems rugged yet lightweight enough to wear all day. I bought the cordovan color, which I thought would be brighter/or redder. However, it's a nice brown that goes with a lot of my clothes. My feet usually get easily tired in average shoes, but not in these.

Rated 4 out of 5 by MegRoJo from Comfortable for work I ordered these in a 1/2 size larger than I normally wear and I am glad I did. The length is perfect. I feel the toe box to be a bit wide on me, but many shoes are. Still, they are great for work. I bought both colors and love them.
