Women’s Saturday Trail™ II Convertible Pant - Plus Size is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 57.
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Fabulous travel pants Two pair, one in Grill and one in Khaki, plus one other pair were the pants I took on a 5-week trip to Costa Rica. Worn either long or short, they were my go-to apparel. Wore well, were washed in machines, by hand in rough concrete sinks and stood up to the hard use. Very flexible with pocket locations and zippers, plus easy on and off over shoes with their wide pant legs. Only difficulty was the stitching broke on a pocket on one pair and on the pant leg hem on the other pair. Am sending them in for warranty repair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from great pants These pants fit me perfectly and feel wonderful. The little bit of stretch in the fabric makes it easy to move around. The zippered legs are easy to take off and put back on. I had no issues with the leg width around the zipper areas as some others have mentioned. I am ordering another pair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Pants Love the material, the feel, and the fit.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Travel These pants were perfect for travel. I liked that they are convertible. However, like other reviewers stated, they are tight in the thigh area. I’m 5’10” and was pleased that the length worked. The waist was a bit off and too tight so had to go with a larger size.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Tears of Joy basically So I have wanted a pair of zip off pants for years. Due to being plus size it was dang near impossible. I have chunky legs so the zipper always cut into my legs on every pair I would try on. I decided to go ahead and give these a try not having much hope. They were the last pair I tried on out of everything I ordered because I figured they wouldn't fit. THEY DID!!! The zipper area on the shorts could stand to be a bit bigger but it is good enough for me. I almost cried I was so happy. Out of my entire order only 2 things were being sent back for being too big and one being exchanged for a smaller size but other than that was amazing. Thank you Columbia for making plus size outdoor gear for us women!! Now, I just need manufactures to keep in mind "short (petite)" is usually shorter than a 29" inseam. Haha I still will have to take off about 5" when hemming. I can deal with that though. Now I'm just being greedy!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Awesome Great pants. I feel that they run a little small around the lower waist area. I actually bought them in all colors :-) planning a trip to Costa Rica and these pants will be perfect!!
Date published: 2018-03-29
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the price Finally, functional active pants for my size! I usually wear 18/20, but am glad I went with the 22 as the waist has no stretch. The fabric is very soft and light weight, gives a little, and is very breathable. I agree with others about the zipper area being a little tighter with no stretch but they didn't make the pants unwearble.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Pants are great, shorts are great, convertable zippers a pain I really love the fit of the pants and shorts. The pockets and belt loops are great, and everything is very comfortable and sturdy. Except the zipper drags and digs into my legs. I wish I could get these exact pants as just pants. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)
Date published: 2018-03-22
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Zippers too tight on the legs The quality of these pants is great, but when sitting, the zippers constrict my legs, making wearing the pants very uncomfortable. I can really only wear these on hikes when I know I won't be sitting down, not on canoe trips which is why I bought them. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Staple in my closet! I cannot go on an expedition without these! I bought my first pair years ago and LOVE them! They wear well and are very comfortable. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Women’s Saturday Trail™ II Convertible Pant A bit snug in the legs for me. I normally wear a 22W in pants. Overall, great waterproof and easy to zip off to create shorts.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great product I read a lot of reviews about these pants/shorts cutting off circulation around the thigh area, and while they do run a little tight it's not anything that made me uncomfortable. These fit really well on me and were a great moisture wicking, quick dry material that was just super breathable and comfortable. I would highly recommend these pants and wore them on my recent trip to Costa Rica where I needed the breathability and comfort these gave me. I'm so happy that Columbia makes good quality, stylish plus size clothes. I've not been disappointed yet.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from The Zipper Sucks It's not that the zipper itself is bad, it's just 2 sizes tighter than the pants. I have been able to get other pants from here with no problem, but the Zipper on these makes it impossible to fit in them. People don't magically become skinny right above the knee.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Good Pants I bought these because Columbia makes larger sizes for women, hooray! Lightweight, comfy, seem to be durable so far. Little bit of stretch, which is always handy for scrambling. The drawstrings at the bottom are great for keeping my cuffs up out of the way. I originally bought a size 16 (my usual) but they fit really tight, bought these in 18 and they're pretty loose on me. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Zippers cut circulation in legs Love these pants so much the material and stitching are great however I would not buy these again as many reviewers mentioned the zippers cut circulation in legs while sitting down or squating. Columbia please let me know when you fix this issue and I will buy another pair. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Almost perfect fit, one flaw I searched specifically for pants by Columbia in a lightweight somewhat stretchy material for use in the summer, outdoors, hiking, camping and such. Impulsively, I purchased them online, right away. Then I read the reviews. Agh! I have big thighs. Of course I do, I'm buying womens plus size pants. As soon as they arrived, I ran to try them on. Checked myself in the mirror. They fit like a glove. Perfect. Waist, hips, length. And they were so comfortable. Then I sat down. Wow! The zippers cut right across my mid to lower thigh. There is no give. It's not a total loss, I can still wear them. They will be okay for hiking, providing I don't have to drive a distance to get to the trail and for activities that don't involve any sitting. Bottom line, the zipper is tighter than it should be. They will not be comfortable. I will not purchase another pair.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Very Comfortable I wore these pants on a warm and humid day recently and they were very comfortable and breathable. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)
Date published: 2017-04-21
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Should have read the reviews. The zipper at the knee is ridiculously narrower than the rest of the pant. Funny that I tried on a man's pair and the fir fine, but the ladies-- hopefully you don't have to sit for any length of time outherwise you will possibly have bruises. Gave quality and function 5's for I love the material and when you are hiking they are great pants, you just can't stop and sit. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)
Date published: 2017-04-20
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Hiking pant I'm Apple shaped and the size I normally wear to fit my waist is very very snug. The length and fit elsewhere is great. Order bigger for sure. It's better to breathe comfortably than to have an amazing fit thru the butt and legs. (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Cargo pocket These are my go to pants when hiking and I love the ease of movement, however, I am not a fan of the design of the cargo pocket. It is a straight up and down pocket that is a little trickier than a standard cargo pocket. And when you unzip the pocket whatever you have inside falls out. I don't understand why the side cargo pocket on the women's pants is not designed the same as the men's. Trying to get to my phone and knife became a chore because my knife fell out every time I unzipped the pocket But that is my only complaint

Date published: 2016-10-16
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Comfortable and light I do a lot of hiking and these pants are very comfortable and light weight. They feel very comfortable and easy to climb in. The zippered pocket on the leg is good to hold keys. The pockets are not deep to hold much.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Buy these pants!! I purchased these pants for a very active summer. Sailing, camping, backpacking and hiking. They served ALL of those purposes very well. Waist band and length are true to size. The convertible zippers are very tight size up if you have heavy thighs.
Date published: 2016-09-05
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Look nice when standing up They are actually quite nice looking and comfortable when standing but when you sit, the zipper area on the legs squeezes into the leg. It looks terrible and is uncomfortable. I returned mine.
Date published: 2016-08-31
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Nearly Perfect These are really nice pants. The length is perfect, there's no gapping at the waist. My only negative is that they're pretty tight at the knee where the zippers are; they dig in quite a bit when sitting. I'm keeping them because the overall fit is so good, and good quality plus size outdoor clothing is so hard to find.
Date published: 2016-08-10
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Zip of the convertible too small It was perfect besides the fact that the zip is smaller than the pant it self. It should be borne in mind that the zip doesn't stretch. Hope this is corrected.
Date published: 2016-07-17
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Needed to reorder I ordered a few sizes up based on the reviews and they were HUGE! I had to return them and reorder. I'm waiting for my next pair to arrive and hoping they fit better. I do like the quality, though. I am anxious to see if the next pair fits.
Date published: 2016-07-14
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Zipper is smaller than the pants These are comfortable pants as long as your thighs are not to big. The zipper is a little to tight, the rest of the pants fit perfectly
Date published: 2016-07-09
Rated 1 out of 5 by from Bummed They fit great from the wait to the zip off zipper... and from the zip off zipper down... but the zipper at the thigh is too small... meaning when you sit down it cuts of your circulation... I am very sad but I am going to have to return them... I'm afraid if I went up a size the top part would be too big.
Date published: 2016-06-17
Rated 5 out of 5 by from What I ordered These pants are a perfect fit, the sizing was exactly what i ordered. They are a comfortable fit with nice stretch where it is needed.
Date published: 2016-06-09
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Just not for me Having read the previous reviews suggesting to size up, I ordered size 22 although my normal pant size is 20. They were too big. I returned the pants and decided not to re-order. The shorts were too long when detached from the lower legs, and with the zipper in there you can't just hem them up. I also was not crazy about the fabric (the color I got was Fossil), and I ended up with the feeling that pants with a zipper halfway down the legs just aren't that comfortable, for me.
Date published: 2016-06-06
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Great fit - until you sit down the zippers for these convertible pants are very inflexible and although the pants fit well in the waist and hips, as soon as I squatted or sat down, the zippers dug into my thighs. After one day of hiking and taking photographs I have bruised thighs and the pants will go in the 'never again' pile :(
Date published: 2016-05-16
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good quality but not great design The pants are well made. The material is not what I expected, as the men's version is made of a lighter ripstop fabric. These are slightly thicker. As is typical with women's pants, the pockets are too small and not well designed for any real usefulness. Aside from these drawbacks, the fit is good and they are flexible, lightweight pants. I usually buy regular length pants, since petite length is usually a bit short for me. These "short" length pants are closer to regular length. If you are almost petite, consider the short length instead of regular.
Date published: 2016-04-13
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Convertible pants Finally you have these pants in shorter length. Need more pants in shorter lengths. Thanks. Love the pants
Date published: 2016-03-17
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Zip Area Tight There is an area where the pants become shorts, above the knee into the thigh. This area has zero stretch because of the zipper and when you sit it gets really tight, these would be better with no zipper area.
Date published: 2016-02-16
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Once I Took Them To A Tailor Everyone writing about the zip off section being too tight around the thigh is spot on. They should be roomier there or the zipper should have been put down lower (like at capri or bermuda length). I loved the pants look and fit so much that I took them to my tailor and had her take out the zipper around the thigh and sew back the bottom convertible part back on permanently. So now my pants aren't convertible, but they fit perfectly around the leg now that the tight zipper has been removed. Also, I've noticed with all my Columbia pants, shorts and capris that the front pockets are not deep enough and i'm always having to check that my phone and wallet aren't falling out! I may even had a little velcro to the pockets in the future. I only carry a small wallet in one pocket and an iPhone 5 in the other and the 5 is only small smartphone so this shouldn't be an issue. Does Columbia think that women just don't put stuff of importance in their pockets?
Date published: 2016-02-06
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Not quite the right fit for me. I like the pants, but find that the area of the leg with the zip off portion is tight when bending or sitting. I have larger hips so the angled pockets with no zippers are also problematic. I would prefer either a regular jean type pocket or if it is an angled pocket I would like a zipper. Overall they are great pants, just not quite the right fit for me.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Irish Great fit, good firm snap at the waist. No excess fabric so pants are light weight and easy to pack
Date published: 2016-01-22
Rated 3 out of 5 by from Gret Pants but run extremely SMALL I purchased 3 pairs of the pant for an upcoming trip to South East Asia. I love the idea of having 2 bottoms in one. That being said they are extremely small! I normally wear a size 14(american) in jeans (Calvin Cline, Tommy and Levies) so after reading the reviews i ordered a size 18W. Unfortunately the pants are still a little snug!! Especially where the pants zip off. Like i said I like the pants and at this point the will have to do but I would order a size 20 next time. I hope this helps. :)

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Waist runs large, at knee & zipper runs very small I was so excited to get these pants. Then was disappointed. Of course I had already left for my trip when I found out that the pants were large in the waist but very narrow at the knee where the zipper is located.
Date published: 2015-10-24
Rated 4 out of 5 by from Versatile Pants Obviously the big draw with these pants is that they're zip offs. They have a hint of stretch so they're very comfortable. I've worn them in hot and humid to dry and colder weather. I found them to be quite comfortable in both. The only aspect I found slightly uncomfortable is the waste band. There is no give in it. As a "above average size" girl, I just prefer a little elastic or adjustable waste band. All in all I give these 4 stars because they're comfortable when I'm guiding in the rain forests of Queensland, the hot dry climate of Arizona or the wet cold of the Canadian Rockies!
Date published: 2015-10-07
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect fit These pants are perfect!! They fit nicely, have some give, dry quickly and look great for go anywhere casual pants. Going to purchase more.
Date published: 2015-09-21
Rated 4 out of 5 by from convertable pants The pants themselves are comfortable. The only problem I have is the placement of the zipper for the conversion to shorts. When bending the leg it digs into my thigh and is uncomfortable.
Date published: 2015-08-15
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Pants Finally found these pants in a 28" inseam that work. I geocache so these cover my legs when I'm out in the brush and tall grasses but, they are still cooler than Jeans. Love them.
Date published: 2015-08-15
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Warning: leg zipper ruins this pant Perfect fit + flattering cut aside from one tragic flaw: the short/pant convertible zipper runs much smaller than the fabric of the pant. I found this not only uncomfortable but actually painful when I tried sitting down in them. Such a shame these will have to be returned.
Date published: 2015-07-27
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great pants for hiking , gardening I love these pants. I think they run a tad small, especially if you are doing a lot of stretching kind of things, so I bought the next size up. The design is well thought out, the style contemporary and the construction is very good. The most wonderful thing about these pants is the incredible fabric they are made from. It's cool as can be, as I sit here in 114F heat. Perspiration evaporates immediately, and you look very neat and tidy. I love the fabric so much, I bought the shorts (2 pairs) and the capris, too.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best outdoor pants These pants are great, thank goodness for Columbia. They fit true to pant size, for me, and the leg is cut well. No extreme tapering like you see in some outdoor pants. No elastic in the waist which I like. Top is similar to jeans or slacks, with belt loops and no pleating. This is perfect. I wear them most often as shorts/zipped off. Good length, not an excessive amount of fabric. These pants as shorts look a world better than the other Columbia summer/outdoor shorts. If you are able to purchase the right length for you that is great also. The standard length is very long. I'm short at 5'4" and ordered the standard length for my first pair, often that is all that is in stock or offered. There is at least 6 inches extra. Second pair I ordered the short length and they are perfect. So glad to see the various length options! There is a little bit of stretch to these so they relax while you are wearing them. Not a full size though. Highly recommend! Hope to see some more colors someday.
