Rated 5 out of 5 by PandaJD from Breathable jacket for big guys I purchased this jacket as a lightweight, breathable jacket to keep me dry. It works very well. I’m 6’1, 315, and the size is a bit generous. By that I mean the XXL is not skin tight. Nice fit for a raincoat. I’m not sure I could wear it over a fleece or sweatshirt though. Keeps the rain out for sure. But I was concerned that it would not breath. Don’t be concerned. The jacket breathes well and keeps you dry. The hood is designed well with the visor and adjustment on the back of the head.

Rated 4 out of 5 by Jaret from Great Work in Progress First of all, the white is very sharp and looks great in person. I commend Columbia for their environmental efforts on this product. Ultimately, I ended up returning it for another size, which also didn't quite work for me. I really wanted to like it. I have five Columbia jackets, all size medium and this didn't fit the same. I did not test in the rain, but from other reviews, it sounds like it performs as advertised. Pros: Material and construction are great. nice color. zippers worked well Cons: It runs large. no pit zips. it has vents around rib cage that function as pockets, but it's a little odd because they are higher than average pockets.

Rated 4 out of 5 by AMH37 from Most waterproof shell I’ve ever owened Growing up in seatte, I’ve had my fair share of rain jackets from a bunch of different brands but this shell is by far king to all of them. OutDry is insanely waterproof, I’ve been out in the seatte rain for hours and never got any sort of wet out. My only complaint with this jacket is that their are some loose threads around points of tension and around the zipper after only a couple weeks of use. I’m usually pretty hard on my gear so this could be me but time will tell if this becomes a bigger problem. Overall, I have no problem recommending this shell to anyone who’s looking for something light and insanely dry.

Rated 5 out of 5 by LWil from Second one I bought an outdry extreme a while back and have been using it for work. I work outside and need good rain gear. I bought this one for recreational use since i loved my first One so much. This is the best rain gear I’ve ever used. Keep up the good work.

Rated 5 out of 5 by chaotime from So far so great I've been avidly looking for a waterproof jacket that will stay waterproof after a year (when the DWR or whatever coating comes off). I hate that I had to always worry about getting the jacket dirty, and even washing the jacket would take off some coating. I had to buy detergent/spray to re-activate the waterproof ability of jackets which is just a nuisance. This is why OutDry is amazing. Hypothetically, it is superior to GTX (gore-tex) because GTX is a fabric membrane that goes underneath a high performance outside fabric that requires DWR/coating. OutDry, and especially this ECO series does not require any coating whatsoever. Basically the fabric itself is waterproof without any chemicals or whatnot. I have yet to own this jacket for a year but theoretically, it should hold up much longer and you don't have to worry as much about it keeping its waterproof ability. I'm hoping its not too good to be true, but so far I've biked through a downpour and was completely dry and was amazed by the performance. I'm 5'7" 140lbs. The small is a little baggy but the jacket has waist cinches. The arms are a little long but most jackets for me are long due to my short arms.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Kimcheebowl from Love what Columbia is doing and this jacket! I am all about supporting local business. I am all about focusing on customer success. I love the ECO line - even the tag and tag string were made of 100% recycled materials! I love what the Columbia brand stands for. I love the rewards program that Columbia has built, a true program that actually REWARDS customers. Having been a loyal North Face, and Spyder customer - I have found a new home with Columbia! But I digress, the jacket is exactly what I was expecting and even more. The fit is a little on the athletic side, which is great for me, as I multi-layer which leaves room for mobility and flexibility. The jacket lives up to its name. It just so happens Seattle is having a rather fierce rain storm. I enjoy being outdoors, but I also enjoy being dry and I mean dry. The ECODRY technology has not let me down yet.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Leiva from Dry I bought this jacket because it was on sale. However, I have wanted it for a while because of the many reviews I have read and watched on YouTube. Moreover, I love the Eco-ness of the product. As Kermit will tell you, "it is not easy being green." That may be because he did not know of this jacket. I was not in a downpour, but I was in a good rain and it kept me dry. This has far exceeded my expectation. I have purchased other "rain jackets", but they had not lived up to the expectation. If you are wanting to put it over a Columbia Turbo Down, I would suggest going a size larger...maybe. It depends on your circumference.

Rated 5 out of 5 by stylerspice from It is white, deal with it At first site, one might think that white is a bad choice for a rain jacket. It usually is, but not in this case. I have explained to numerous people how I have not hindered the environment with this purchase. 21 recycled bottles and no clothing dye. Pretty great! A few days after getting the jacket, I went out in a downpour in my neighbourhood to see if the jacket was waterproof and how breathable the jacket was. Water just pearled off the jacket. I got home, shook the jacket and 90% of the water fell to the ground. Breathability is always hard to discern in a jacket as I always think breathable means it should breathe like cotton. I was not too warm with the jacket while walking. The pockets however, unzip and can let in an amazing amount of air as there is a mesh lining only in the pockets. The jacket does dirty fast but is easily cleaned. The material seems rugged and I can easily see myself walking in thick brush and not worrying if the jacket will tear. Pretty happy with this jacket. Thanks again! (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)

Rated 5 out of 5 by ZachM785 from Awesome Rain Shell I love this jacket. Yes, its white - but you can't stain it due to the material it's made out of. Everything can be wiped right off. I like the fit, I feel like it's a pretty average/true medium. Maybe a TAD bit small/snug/active style fit. I initially got a large (that's what I wear in most tees, however some buttondowns I do go down to a medium in some cases) but returned it for a medium, which fits me a lot better. It's a tad bit snug, but I don't mind as I won't be wearing thick layers underneath. It's a great looking shell. Its not insulated, so don't wear it in cold temps, that will be coming next season from what the rep in the store told me. If you're environmentally conscious and don't want to contribute to earth waste, you can feel good about forking over a little extra cash to make you feel better about your purchase. I get compliments all the time on the jacket, and I wear it alot. 5 stars! (This review was collected as part of a promotion.)
