- 1. Neck: Measure at the base or thickest part of your neck.
- 2. Sleeves: Start at the center back of your neck and measure across the shoulder and down to the wrist. Round up to the next even number.
- 3. Chest/Bust: Measure at the fullest part of the chest, under the armpits and over the shoulder blades, keeping the tape measure firm and level.
- 4. Waist: Measure around the natural waistline, allowing the tape measure to sit comfortably.

This pair of pants was labeled 36x30. The length was accurate. The waist size was not.

Extremely comfortable and lightweight
I purchased these based on needing a comfortable pant and from the reviews I read on here. I was not disappointed. The articulated knee in these make them comfortable enough to wear all day if you are riding on a mower or sitting around working on any projects. They seem to be pretty sturdy and are lightweight, so it doesn't feel like you are being weighed down even after wearing them all day. I would highly recommend them, I regret not getting a second pair in the color I originally purchased them in!

Nice Pants
I was looking for something other than store brand denim jeans for my hiking. Found a dark brown color pant in these and wanted to give them a shot. Flexible which for me doing hiking and photography is nice. Wore during a warm day and pretty comfortable.

Everyday wear
These pants are perfect for the daily outdoors person. The fit and flex allow for a comfortable all day wear on the trails, in the boat or just doing lawn work in the yard. I own a few pairs of these and will be picking up a few more.

Good travel pants
These went on sale, so I bought a pair to add to my travel clothes. They are extremely light weight. Nicely made. The size chart is accurate. I have only just tried them on, I have yet to use them. I am 6'2 - 230 lbs
The 40x32 fits fine.

Lightweight, Tough and Comfortable
I have two pair of these pants. Wore them a lot during the hot Texas summer. They proved to be durable, easy to keep clean, stain resistant, shed light water, and they help you stay cool. The Jean cut is my favorite casual pant style. I like the camo jackknife pocket. The belt loops are wide and ample. The fabric gives a little for more comfort climbing, kneeling, and they are great for hunting wear during the warmer months. A little too light for freezing and cold weather and snow.

My new favorite pants
I just received my PHG Bucktail pants and they are already my favorite pants. They are very comfortable and lightweight and yet very durable. Wipes clean and water beads off. Hiked through ankle deep water and I was sure my pants were wet but I stayed dry. I will definitely be getting another pair.

These pants are billed as "hunting pants". I hunt quite a lot; but I wasn't really in the market for any hunting pants. I wanted some cold weather pants that would be useful for everyday wear; and since the picture on Columbia's website showed a young man sitting on the steps of what appeared to be some kind of lodge staring meditatively off into a snow covered landscape, I thought these might do.
First, the good: They are very comfortable. The material is quite stretchy and it moves with you. The design is essentially a 5 pocket jean pattern, but there are snaps on the back pockets and I think that's a good thing. And they look good.
The bad: Hunting pants should have plenty of secure pockets for things like cartridges/shells, a pocket knife, chapstick, Keenix, a cell phone, compass, etc. Those pockets should not be on your backside where you sit. As stated previously, they are a 5 pocket jean design and there are no cargo pockets at all. As for the little "change pocket", maybe some of you have profitably used them, but I have always found it useless for hunting; or much anything else, for that matter. Secondly, most hunting is done in cool to cold weather, so you'd want those pants to be warm. These are a bit thin, and the wind can blow right through them. They are not the warm, wind deflecting pants you want when the mercury drops.
So they get 3 stars, not because they aren't made well or they're uncomfortable. They are both of those things. They get them because they are not constructed to perform the stated task.
As casual winter pants, which is what I bought them for after all, they are not going to be warm enough. Maybe fall and spring...

Great pants!
First, it's just nice these days to find some pants that are actually designed for men. They're extremely comfortable, true to size, and are just well designed. I've already ordered more, because good pants that are actually sized correctly for me just aren't that easy to find anymore. An added bonus is that they look nice enough that I can get away with wearing to the office, at least my office.

Nice light weight pant. Good for early season hunts. 34/32s fit about like my size 36/32 roughtail pants, a little larger. The only downside I’ve see. Is they get wrinkles easy

very nice fit and very comfortable
I need closer to a 33" inseam, so a pair with a 34" inseam was purchased and hemmed up 1" -- no problem at all and the final fit is great. The material is very light weight but seems to be quite effective blocking wind and being breathable at the same time. These were purchased in mid-fall 2019, just about when early snows started here in Colorado, so they haven't gotten any really warm weather use yet, but first impressions suggest they will be great then as well. And they were so perfect (after hemming), I immediately ordered a second pair.

Great for fall hunting
I was looking for mid-weight hunting pants with a loose fit and these are perfect. I am 6’7” tall and was concerned that the 34” inch inseam would be too short but not so. They are about an inch shorter than what I would wear out and about but again, perfect for hunting. The stretch material was a revelation. I’m normally not a fan but for this application, the stretch is awesome. First time out, I got covered in mud and they washed up good as new. I am a big fan of these pants and highly recommend.

Men's Hunting Buck "Tail" Pants
Pants are very nice and comfortable. I was hoping for a little more stretch, as other customers had said that they had. The pants run a little small, not bad , but a little bit. If you intend to wear any layer under these pants, go a size up. I would recommend going a size up to start, They fit a little snug to start, that is even without a wash and dry. I believe though that the pants are great. The pants cane be worn to hunt, casual, work, and even go to Church on Sunday. You know when you buy Columbia, you are getting a quality product.

Great Pair of Pants
I bought these pants for backpacking. I generally wear a 30/30, but I decided to size slightly up because I often wear baselayers and such. Nevertheless, I probably shouldn't have because the pants came in slightly too large; I would make sure to size yourself in-store before ordering online. Other than that however, they are great pants— durable, waterproof, comfortable. I haven't had the chance to truly field test them, but I am pretty satisfied with the quality.
